Two Fangs

After Myoga managed to coax Totosai out of hiding (after explaining that Sesshomaru had been pacified already), the group started a fire and settled down for a light lunch. Sesshomaru, however, kept his distance, and glared at everyone from a tree several feet away. Kagome simply shook her head at him.

"So what do you want, old man?" Inuyasha asked Myoga before he dug into his fish.

"I am worried about you, Master Inuyasha," Myoga replied.

"Yes," Totosai agreed. "He came to me in quite a state. Apparently, you used the Wind Scar once and now you are having trouble with your sword."

"Wind Scar?" Inuyasha asked. "What's that?"

The entire group stared at the two elder youkai, all with a frown on their faces. Sesshomaru was the only who did not appear confused in any way.

"The Wind Scar is a powerful-" Myoga began to explain, but was cut off by a snort from Sesshomaru.

"Do not waste your breath, flea," Sesshomaru grunted. "The half-breed cannot see it."

Myoga squeaked, glanced at Inuyasha and then looked at Sesshomaru. "Yes he can! I have seen him use it before!"

Totosai nodded. "He just needs practice."

Sesshomaru scoffed. "He is weak. He does not deserve our father's sword."

"Sesshomaru!" Kagome huffed. The youkai glanced at his mate, saw how red her face was and sighed. The pups were curled up by her side, both staring at him with big sad eyes. He really hated it when they pulled that puppy look on him.

But before Sesshomaru could excuse his comment, for he would never in a million years apologise, Totosai stood up with attitude. "Now you listen here, Sesshomaru! You are a spoiled, grumpy, old buffoon! You constantly bother me about making a sword greater than the Tessaiga, or try and steal it from its rightful owner! All this when you have a perfectly well-made sword, crafted from your father's fang already!"

All eyes turned to the sword resting on Sesshomaru's hip. Kagome frowned. She had noticed it before, but he never used it, so it often just sort of blended into the background. Honestly, the sword held so little significance she had never bothered to really think about it. Why did he want the Tessaiga so badly, when he already had a sword?

Sesshomaru's eyebrow twitched in annoyance. Totosai noticed and paled, before quickly hiding behind Inuyasha.

"You cannot kill me!" Totosai cried. "Or I will never make a sword for you!"

"I do not want a weakling sword from you," was the angry response. Inuyasha, who was still peeved at having his dual with Sesshomaru interrupted, was really starting to become irritated at the insults being thrown around and the blatant disrespect being shown by his brother. Annoyed, he stood, tucked Tessaiga in its place on his hip and stomped over to the other youkai until he could invade his personal space.

"We are finishing our dual," he hissed.

Sesshomaru smirked. "With pleasure, brother."
