Twist

Nohime received many stares as she stepped out of the carriage. She scowled at Kagome, who was watching her with an aloof expression. If it hadn't been for the bindings, she would have snapped the woman's neck already. Swallowing down the anger, she studied the others now in their company. A monk, a woman who was clearly a slayer, a fox child, a demon cat, her children, Myoga and Totosai.

Myoga was the first to react to her appearance. "Lady Kicho?"

She hissed at the name. "Do not call me that, you disgusting cockroach!"

"I see you haven't changed," Totosai muttered under his breath.

"What did you say, you imp?" Nohime shrieked. "I dare you to say that to my face!"

Miroku turned to Kagome. "This is the pups' mother?"

She nodded. She had explained everything to them, from how she had needed to get away from Inuyasha and had found solace with Sesshomaru and his pups, to how she had nearly lost her arm. She hadn't revealed who Nohime was, simply said the pups' mother was their prisoner and they were escorting her somewhere. She was slightly surprised that Myoga and Totosai had not known that she the pups' mother. Since from their reaction to her, they clearly knew her.

Myoga tutted. "Your mother will be ashamed, Lady Kicho."

Nohime growled. "She can go rot in hell for all I care!"

Silence. Then a CLANG! as Inuyasha's sword met Sesshomaru's claws. Nohime had not noticed them before, but gaped in astonishment as they fought. The half-breed was matching his full-blooded brother in strength! But that couldn't be…

She then realised what was going on and smirked. "Why, Princess Kagome, it would seem the Prince thinks Lord Sesshomaru has failed you."

Kagome scowled. "It's none of your concern, Nohime."

Nohime smirked. "I find it odd that you stand here so calmly while they fight to the death."

Kagome paled. "They are not fighting to the death!"

The satisfying grin on Nohime's face worried Kagome, so she turned to Myoga. "They aren't, are they?"

Myoga shook his head. "No, no. They will stop once they get it out of their systems. Think of it as siblings pulling each other's hair."

Kagome rolled her eyes. "Very dangerous hair pulling."

Just as she said that, a large blast of energy erupted behind them. They all screamed as a strong gust of wind blew through the valley. Kagome grabbed onto the pups and Shippo as she felt the wind sweep her off her feet. Miroku planted his staff into the ground and grabbed Sango by her kimono before she could lose her own footing. Totosai grabbed Kagome and the pups and hid behind Mo-Mo, while the guards grabbed each other and Nohime before planting their swords into the ground.

"What's happening?" Kagome yelled over the noise.

Myoga was staring at the scene, astonished. "I think Lord Inuyasha used the Wind Scar again!"

"What does that mean?" Kagome demanded.

But her answer came when the wind died down and the dust cleared, revealing Inuyasha, a large scar torn through the earth and…no Sesshomaru in sight.
