Little Healer
Rin returned to the clearing, items in hand. The man did not hiss at her this time, but he quirked an eyebrow when she knelt beside him. She held out a small leaf with some root vegetables on it.
"I do not eat human food," the man stated. Rin ignored him and urged him to take the food. He sighed, took it from her, and placed it on the ground. Slightly annoyed, Rin huffed, but decided to ignore it for now. She then held up the cloth and salve, to indicate what she wanted to do.
"I do not need that," the man refused her help, again. Rin shook her head and moved closer to him. The man looked affronted, and then his brow creased in annoyance, but he did not say anything as Rin reached for his arm to see if it was where the blood was coming from. The arm was fine, so she moved to his other side, lifted his sleeve and gasped.
His left arm was gone!
But it was not bleeding, which meant he had lost his arm in the past. Confused, Rin moved her focus to his chest, and noticed the blood was more concentrated there. She blushed as she realised she would have to somehow ask him to remove his kimono. Knowing that verbally asking was out of the question, Rin physically showed him what she wanted. All she received was a cold blank stare. So, she tried with more rigour.
"Stop making a fool of yourself," the man scolded. "I do not require your help. Go away."
Rin blanched, then looked down sadly at her worn hands. She was not going to cry, she never shed tears anymore. But the sadness still wrenched at her little heart.
"Children," the man muttered before sighing. "Look at me."
Rin bit her lip and looked up into the golden gaze of the mysterious beautiful man.
"My wound is already healing," the man stated. "I do not need salve or dressing."
Rin blinked, then nodded to show her understanding.
"Now off with you!" the man said. "It will be dark soon."
Rin gathered her things, but left the vegetables. She bowed to the man, before she turned and disappeared among the trees.
