Hey guys. Well, a lot has happened this past week, but I'll keep it brief. A guy I knew in high school, not really close but we had the same class together and were friendly, passed away last week Friday. I found Monday - he robbed a store at gunpoint wearing a suit and V for Vendetta mask, stole some stuff, and committed suicide when he got home. Honestly, I don't even know what to think . . . maybe I'm in shock or something, because even though I didn't know him very well, it's just so sad. His family will forever have that memory of him in their minds, a horrible memory for have for ANY reason right before Christmas, the time of joy and love and thankfulness.
On the other side, I survived college finals week. :) Got a 91% in my Biology 122 final (my professor made a mistake and gave me a 43% at first, which really sucked), a 98% or so in my Spanish class, around an 87% in my honors class, around an 88% in my Biology 120 class, and an A in Choir (idk the percentage). :) Not too bad for balancing a fanfic, novel, and life, huh?!
Anyway, get ready for updates, my glorious readers! :) Enjoy the Gehenna chapter!

Rin's POV
...
Rin stood among the pools of blood like the prince of bones, his arms limp at his side. His sapphire blue eyes were glazed, the red pupils unfocused as there stared past the unconscious demon on the ground. Red soaked Xavier's pale blue hair, dying it a bloody violet.
Slowly, methodically, the blue flame that encircled Rin ebbed away. The young demon blinked once and, the red of his eyes fading away, swayed once and collapsed. Dust rose into the air as Rin weakly coughed. One of his hands strayed to his chest, to the dozens of pierce marks caused by the needles of ice, and let arm fall once again without a word.
A cheer rose from the Pit.
Demons slammed their hands on the metal bars, their canines bared in feral screams.
Noise bounced off the bloody walls. Heaven could have heard the sound.
The half-breed had won against a pure-bred demon, and a General no less. A General known for his cruelty, his lack of compassion, his torturous techniques of combat - all of which had made him famous and respected.
Yet, despite all of the noise, not a single sound came from Rin.
Not even the faint hush of breath.
Rin's world faded into darkness amidst the roar of the crowd.
...
Rin blinked his eyes, disoriented and confused. Darkness surrounded him, a thick darkness that enveloped the world. Suddenly his forehead stabbed with pain, and with a faint intake of breath Rin nearly doubled over. His hands pressed against the sides of his head as if he was trying to keep it from splitting apart.
"That won't help, you know."
Rin snapped his head up, then winced at just how much that hurt. Red creeped in the corners of his vision like scarlet ink dripped into water; graceful edges and calm designs was slowly blurring his world into the color of blood.
Suddenly there was a spark in front of him, a blue spark, and suddenly it ignited. A ball of aquamarine flame slowly bobbed in the darkness, and for a moment, the red didn't seem as glaring anymore.
"Wh - who are you?" Rin hissed between clenched teeth. His upper canine bit into his bottom lip, cutting through the soft skin. Red pearled from flesh.
The bob of light suddenly twisted, then grew. Rin blinked in confusion, but his eyes widened when the ball of blue flame obtained its true form.
Himself.
"I'm power," the flame body said, one hand upon its blazing hip. "I am the Accuser. I am the Adversary. I am Apollyon, I am the Angel, I am the Murderer. Some have called me the Power of darkness, so have called me the Star. And above all," it continued, pointing directly at Rin, "I am you."
Rin paled at the conformation of his worst fear.
"You're not me," he whispered. Begged. "You can't be me. I'm - !"
"Human?" the flame body asked, then suddenly laughed. It was high, erratic, horrifying, and suddenly it flung it arm to the side. "Is that human?" it asked, now pointing in a new direction.
Rin slowly turned; one half of him didn't want to see, the other did. The latter won, and Rin froze when he saw a memory in the darkness as if it had been stained on a fragment of shattered glass. In it, he saw himself, the moment Satan was dragging him to Gehenna through the body of his father. In it, the Rin of back then was staring at a mirror... his reflection didn't look very human-like at all.
Rin's lips parted as terror seized his heart, then sharply inhaled. "No," he said, rejecting the image in front of him. His voice wavered.
Suddenly the flaming hand, cool to the touch, cupped underneath Rin's chin, forcing the young demon to look up at it. The blue flame smiled.
"You're no better than these demons," it whispered. "You're the exact same as them."
Rin locked his jaw, forcing himself to remain in composure. "You're wrong," he hissed. "I'm not one of them."
The flame body seemed to smile despite its featureless face. "Then explain this," it ordered, and the memory in the glass changed. Now it was looked down at a demon from Rin's perspective, a demon with faint blue air and icy blue eyes. Scarlet was splattered on his face, his body, the ground, almost like abstract art.
Rin made a faint noise in the back of his throat when he recognized the face.
"Xavier?" he whispered. "What happened to - "
Before he could finish the sentence, the image backed up until it showed a figure standing above Xavier's body. Rin's eyes widened in horror as he recognized himself, clad in blue flames, standing over the demon like the holy angel of death. Blood was splattered on his clothes, his face, the ground, the walls.
"That's not me," Rin said slowly. His voice was empty, hollow, lifeless.
"If you don't believe," the flame body whispered in Rin's ear, "then touch your cheek."
Rin swallowed, then slowly raised his shaking fingers to his cheek. They came back stained, and for the first time, Rin noticed just how bloodied he was.
A hoarse cry rang in the eternal darkness.
...
Rin snapped awake. He was still lying on the ground - only a couple minutes must have gone by - but to Rin, it felt like an eternity. A headache hammered in his temple, but it went ignored. The only thing Rin could think about was the red that surrounded him and the body in front of him.
With a wild cry, he fell backward, his body trembling. I killed him, he thought, struggling to sit back up again. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. I killed him. I killed him. I -
The blow came from the back, just a sapphire streak that was barely visible even to the spectators. Rin fell forward and his snapped forward. Bone grated against bone as he tumbled onto the ground in a mess of limbs, then bounced and slammed against the wall. Bits of stone rained down on him as his vision was virtually nonexistent. He choked on copper as his body threatened to give up, but sheer will power kept him conscious.
What . . . was . . .
A sudden roar filled the air, and it took Rin a couple seconds to realize that it wasn't his ears that were ringing, but the crowd he had forgotten all about. He raised his sapphire gaze that was just beginning to clear, and he saw an all - too familiar face staring down at him.
The King of Gehenna saw the look on Rin's face and shouted, laughing and crazed, "Daddy's back!"
You thought Rin's fight was done?
NAH.
Next Gehenna chapter will get interesting though . . . where have Raziele and Loriel been the entire time? And how is Rin going to get out of this one?
