I cannot believe that I am writing this chapter. You can all thank Nyris for this update - thank you for holding me accountable! So, since I haven't talked (written?) to you guys in forever, here's a little update on my life:
I graduated from college last year (May 2017) with a degree in Biology, and after moving back home with my parents for another year, I moved about 4 hours to the north to be closer to my boyfriend :) I have a cute apartment now, which was super exciting at first until I realized how unbelievably expensive they are, but I have a great job working as a Data Analyst/ Programmer so it's all working out. Still super weird that I'm an adult now, though - like, a balancing paychecks, paying-bills, opening 401(k) accounts, saving up for a house - type of adult. Yuck.

Though, being an adult isn't too much different than being a kid. The only real difference is that everything is way more expensive and you have to buy your own donuts. Also, I have about 100 popsicles in the fridge. Literally nobody needs 100 popsicles. I just bought them because they were on clearance lololol

Anyway, I'm sure you guys didn't open up this link so you can read my life story :) You opened it up for the next chapter! So, it's been a while and I'm really rusty on what the heck is going on, but here it goes:

And the world trembled beneath them.

Blue flames licked the sky and scorched the dry land of Gehenna. The war between Satan's demons and Rin's personal army faltered, momentarily forgot their differences, and strained their necks towards the sky. They had not seen flames like these since Judgement Day.

And what beautiful flames they were. These were not Satan's flames, inherited by twisted blood. Not at all. These flames were different in their own right. Holy, even, the taint of demons washed away by something hotter than hell fire, by something purer than the sapphire blue that warped the sky with heat.

Within those flames, cocooned, were Rin and Yukio. Each held Kurikara with one hand, while the other held the brother's hand.

Before, Yukio had doubted his power. Doubted that he could save anything.

But now...

Rin glanced at him, and for the first time his slitted eyes were clear. "Together," he said.

Yukio said nothing, only nodded. What could he possibly say? What else was there to talk about? No - the time for talking was over, and his gaze towards Satan emphasized that.

Satan himself only watched, and listened, and waited. No longer did the King of Gehenna shriek, no longer did he taunt the twins. If anything, he seemed to be ... happy. His expressionless gaze was not focused on the boys but on something behind them, something that he could only see. He lowered his guard and, slowly, lifted his arms as if going for a hug. Or, perhaps, to be hung.

Hurry, he seemed to be saying.

Yukio was more than happy to oblige. With a wild cry, the twins threw themselves forward, their flames bursting like wings from their backs. The line between angels and demons was blurred as the wings flapped once, and a shockwave erupted beneath them. Another flap, and the land was flatted, those on it thrust to the ground. And the third ...

But there was no third. For in that moment, Kurikara pierced Satan's heart.

It was as easy as piercing a human. Yukio was so surprised at how easy it was, how simple it was, that he almost dropped the sword. But Rin held firm to the hilt, and it was Rin that forced the blade to go a little deeper, to burn a little hotter. Satan remained still as the blade swept it up in holy flames. Remained still as the blue fire shifted into something white, something gold, and then something a startling shade of red.

Yukio's eyes widened as the flames swallowed his father whole. For there to be no resistance ...

"Why?" he found himself whispering.

Satan heard, and before he vanished, turned his face towards him. "So that I... can see... her," he murmured. "You needed to be... stronger than I..."

But whatever he had been planning on saying was lost forever because, in that moment, he vanished into dust and ashes, into blood and bone. The war had ended. Rin and Yukio had won.

Shiemi had heard an explosion, and had look up just in time to see fire splash across the sky. It wasn't anything special anymore - she had seen so much fire in the sky that it was almost normal, commonplace even. But then the fire changed colors into different shades of blue and white and gold and scarlet, and suddenly there was a pop as the air pressure shifted.

When the flames cleared, there was a hole in the sky in place of where the King had been.

"Holy fuck," Shura said, standing beside her. "Satan's dead."

Shiemi turned towards her, startled. Dead? But that was ...

... impossible, she almost thought, but then she remembered that Rin and Yukio were fighting Satan. If anything was going to kill Satan, it would be those two. Especially Rin. She faintly smiled at the memory of Rin standing up in class, a lifetime ago now, declaring that he would be the one to kill Satan. And then Bon stood up and they had an argument, and then their lives were changed forever.

Shiemi glanced back upwards, towards the sky, to where the brothers hovered midair. "Bon is going to be so upset," she murmured, wiping away a tear. "He wanted to be the one to kill Satan."

Shura laughed, a strange sound in this place. "Tough luck," she said. "He's just going to have to wait around for the next demon war."

"I'm what now?" They turned as Bon limped towards them, his arm thrown over Konekomaru's shoulder.

"Wait around for the next demon war," Shiemi replied, "if you want to kill Satan."

Bon smirked, and shook his head in a careless sort of way. "No way," he said. "One war is enough for me."

"Me too," Konekomaru stated, and they laughed.

There, I hope this ended it on less of a cliffhanger. Sorry for the long wait (and brace yourself for another one), and sorry if the quality is poop. I'm gonna be honest, I can't remember how I originally wanted to end this story. D: It still has a little ways to go, they still need to reach Assaih somehow (yeah, idk if I spelled that right, or any of their names for that matter), but I'll try to get those chapters out soon just to get this story behind me, make you guys happy, and then you can stop sending me messages! Hahahaha. (Actually, I do enjoy your messages :) ) But anyway, this thing has been going on for 5 years! That's crazy.

With love,
