Do not kill me! I've been on vacation for a week and haven't had access to my computer...i'm so sorry! As soon as I got home, I was on a time change schedule, so I was able to stay up super late really easily and finish this for ya'll. But, it's a super duper short chapter...like real short. So, please read and review! DISCLAIMER: I don't own The Hunger Games.
"Now, where shall we begin? Oh, I know. We'll start with your lips. Care to blow Lover-boy one last kiss?" I tease as I take my knife and make a small incision just below her lower lip.
She whimpers in pain and I see the smallest tear begin to fall out of her eye. "Oh, don't cry now. It'll all be over soon…maybe." I tell her with a smirk as I swipe away the tear and go back to my work.
Just as I'm about to cut open her upper lip, I large force picks me up off of her and sends me flying into the side of the cornucopia.
This causes a searing pain to go throughout my whole arm as the arrow is shoved deeper. I know exactly who it is by the sheer force of the throw, and the only thing I can manage to get out as a cry for help is one name.
"Cato!" I scream as I feel the large fingers or Thresh's hand begin to wrap around my throat. I attempt to pull them away, but every struggle causes him to tighten his grip. He bends down to pick up something, but I can't see what it is because he's blocking my view.
He pushes me up against the side of the Cornucopia, and raises up the object that he picked up. I look up and see a large rock looming almost directly over my skull. I begin to panic "Cato! Cato! Please, please…help me!" I cry and feel the warm tears stream down my face.
I know every bit of my composure is now gone, and the whole country has seen me in this weakness. And yet, I couldn't give a lesser crap. The only thing I care about right now is living.
Against my better judgment, I open my eyes. For the first time, I look straight into the soul of my enemy. I'm terrified by what I see in his dark brown eyes. I see feelings of rage, anger, hate, revenge, and most of all, of sadness.
"Did you kill her? Did you kill Rue?" he almost yells, still holding the rock high above my head. "No! I didn't!" I try to plead, but he doesn't seem to be accepting no for an answer. "You did! I heard you! I heard her scream!" he roars into my face again.
"Please…I didn't…" I say, knowing there's absolutely nothing I can do to save myself. Only Cato can. "You did. And now, I'm going to kill you." He says hatefully as he brings the rock down onto my skull and I feel the blood cover my face in a warm, sickly smelling veil.
I vaguely remember hearing him grunt as something hard hits him and he drops me to the ground. I roll onto my side and see Cato on top of him, beating punch after punch into his head. That's the last thing I see before I black out.
*Gasp* Another cliffhanger! I know...I'm a terrible person...however, I have the next bit ready to upload as soon as I see fit. So, i'll update yet again tonight at 9 o'clock or whenever I reach *drum-roll* ten reviews for this chapter! I got 8 for the last one, so this'll be a breeze for ya'll...maybe i'm making it too easy...how about 2 more followers as well? Yes, perfect. I update after ten reviews and 2 followers.
