A/N: Well, it seems that this story was in much of a need to update after almost 11 years. Man, I still stink as a writer but I'm getting some entertainment writing these stories out at least. I hope to update often as I play the game again on my PSP Go (oh how times have changed) and I hope that whoever is reading is at least enjoying it!

Gex: Enter the Gecko

Chapter 2: Out of Toon (Or, Rabbit Season, FIRE!)

I opened my eyes and already I had some regret coming into this dimension first. All around me was nothing but cartoons, rocks that have eyes and I think that flower has a hammer hiding behind its back. Yup, this was a cartoon alright. I looked up and saw a floating silver remote control in the middle of a floating island.

"Now, I know that collecting red remotes might open new worlds to explore back in the MD, but what in the name of Davy Jones does the silver remotes do?" I pondered out loud as I decided that was the best place to at least start my journey and made my way towards it. Hopefully, my lack of time being in the MD didn't hinder my skills. I was a gecko for crying out loud, all I could do is tail whip my enemies. And why in the heck is that smiley face bouncing up and down?

Anyways, after a short climb and questioning if cartoons really do exist, I karate kicked my way towards the small floating island and grabbed the silver remote control. Until I know what these do, however, I have to continue forward and try to find some red remotes. A shadow formed below my feet and looked up just in time to see a kitchen sink falling down and dodged just in the neck of time. I leapt across some steel girders and found myself smacking into a few purple mushrooms.

Did you also notice that I have been collecting other items as well? Who knew enemies are filled with the random assortment of everyday items for all your collecting needs.

I looked in the distance and saw that one of the red remotes appeared after hitting that purple mushroom. Seems that I have to complete some tasks in order to get these red remotes. I ran forward and grabbed the remote when just then, I had a suspicion that I wasn't walking on land anymore. I looked down and found out that I was falling into a dark hole like Alice in one of her wacky adventure.

I popped out of the hole and noticed I was wearing a rabbit suit. Great, just what I always wanted to be during a perfectly timed season to hunt said animal. Two hunters in the distance saw me and started shooting at me as I ducked right behind a tree. Odd, I don't remember the bullets ever floating in midair back in the real world. I crawled under some logs and decided a sneaky approach was in order.

Did that bear trap just bark at me?

Anyways, I ran out from behind a log and karate kicked the first hunter right in the head and tail whipped the second in quick succession. Grabbing another remote for my troubles, I quickly found another hole I could jump in (because this time I was paying attention).

Coming out of that season of fun, I stumbled across a few more bouncing smiley faces that seemed just a bit too happy for my taste and gave them the old wack of the tail. After collecting their belongings, a silver remote appeared above me and landed in my hands. While I am happy that I found another silver remote, I still have no idea what I'm suppose to do with these. But, collecting is what I came here to do if I'm ever going to get to Rez and every little remote will help me.

In the distance I found a tv with another red remote on top of some rock towers. And to think I forgot to pack my rock climbing gear for this adventure. I tail bounced my way towards the top and grabbed the remote just as I was zapped into the tv.

*Media Dimension*

I jumped out of the tv and looked at the remotes I've collected so far. With three red remotes in my inventory, I had enough to turn on the tv in the middle of the archway. However, there was the other road I could explore.

"So, each world this time around has me collecting red remotes to further my search for Rez. Looks like I'm going to need to really be on my guard then since this is the MD after all."

I walked down the pathway and found a new tv set has appeared with the word Bonus on it. I felt a warm sensation inside my pockets and pulled out the silver remotes as they started to glow and disappear into the tv set.

"Ah! So those remotes will allow me to gain access to bonus tv's across the Media Dimension! Man, am I a smart gecko or what?" I said to myself. Better to explore some more before seeing what I can do with this bonus world. I ran across the other ramp and saw that a television called Scream TV was in my viewpoint this time around. Gulping, I decided that now was no time to chicken out (that and I was a gecko) and stepped on the switch and teleported into the set.
