Chapter 6: That Sinking Feeling
A couple of remotes later and I'm back where I started. I've been thinking of my encounter with Mooshoo for a bit ago. Something about this whole mess wasn't adding up.
"HAHAHA!"
I turned around as Rez appeared from behind a gate.
"Rez!"
"Ah, if it isn't Gex. I hope the Media Dimension has treated you well."
"Rez, enough of these games already! End your reign now and return the MD back to normal!" I exclaimed as Rez picked me up by the neck. I was struggling to find a way out as Rez looked at me.
"You think you can stop me Gex?"
I did it in the last game so-"
"Silence! I will not hear from you no more Gex. You have to learn the hard way that I will always find a way to win!" He said as we continued to float above the Media Dimension and unto a platform with a lone television monitor on it. "The only way to get rid of a pest is to eliminate it completely!" He screeched as he threw me into the television. Rez clawed at the monitor, destroying it in the process.
*Somewhere in the middle of the ocean*
I slowly opened my eyes and sat up as I looked at my surroundings. I was floating in the middle of the ocean with random debris of what looks like a ship floating around me. Looking around, I was on a small platform moving about in the cold night.
"Guess calling for a taxi is out of the question then. Maybe something sank within the ocean that might give me a clue as to where Rez sent me!" I said as I pulled out my watch and pressed a button. After a few seconds, I was covered with my scuba gear and dived into the cold abyss, wondering what was waiting for me at the bottom of the ocean.
You know those times where you just have that sinking feeling that something is just not right? Well, it looks to be a big giant ship has sank here and it says Titanic on the side of the ship. Looks like Rez sent me to the night the ship sank! I started to swim closer to the wreck, seeing if there was a sign of anything I could use to find a way out of here. I swan towards the center of the ship and entered inside one of the main halls and looked around. Aside from sinking, the Titanic was a fine piece of ship if I do say so myself. I swam inside another room and found a opening within a crushed door that said "Engine Room". I swam inside and surfaced above to where I could take off my mask. Around me was a few broken ladders and above me was a red remote sitting above. I slowly started climbing up as the water level slowly started to raise as I leapt across the room and grabbing onto a ladder. I climbed up and reached for the remote, only for the ship to slowly start shifting to the left and the water level raising rapidly. I quickly put on my mask and dived backwards, catching the remote in the process. I pressed a button and was zapped away, not knowing where I would end up.
*Tokyo*
I stumbled forward and landed on my head as I got up and pulled off my scuba suit. Looking around me, I must be in some sort of media Tokyo level of some sort. Suddenly, the area started to shake as I turned around and saw a giant Rez robot stomping its way towards me.
"What? I thought Rez took care of you!" A voice rang out from within the robot.
"Mooshoo!"
"That's right gecko, meet Rez's ultimate creation! A robot that will tear you limb from limb!" He stated as the robot shook the ground and several buildings tumbled down. A yellow fly emerged from one of the buildings and started flying around me. Never one to pass a midnight snack, I licked it right up. Slowly, I felt myself growing taller and more reptile like in nature as now I was on equal height advantage with this robot! It charged at me and speared me into a building as it rocket boosted above my head and landed on the building. I tail whipped the building and the building came down. The giant robot came tumbling down as I wacked it and sent it flying into another building. The robot stood up and flew right into me and grabbed me by the neck and started to spin me around. It let go and I was sent flying into the air and crashed into the rubble. It pounced on me as it open its mouth.
"This is where you meet your end Gex!" Mooshoo said as liquid rez started to drip from its mouth. I quickly inhaled and spit out some acid and managed to get it into the robot's eyes. It screamed in pain as I rolled away and smacked it on the head with my tail. The robot staggered for a moment as I charged forward and tackled it into another building. It screamed in pain as I grabbed its head and gave it a headbutt.
"How dare you fight against the power of Rez and his army!" Mooshoo yelled as the robot struggled to find its footing.
"Rez is everything every plot from a superhero movie is! I'm the good and he's the evil and that means good must vanquish evil! That means ending this fight right now!" I yelled as I tail bounced high into the air and came crashing down right on top of the robot. A claw tried to reach for my feet as I kicked the head right off of the robot as it exploded into a pile of scrap metal. A gold remote appeared in front of me as I pushed the button to get me out of here!
*Rezopolis*
Mooshoo stumbled out of the television as Rez looked on. "Master, I'm truly sorry that I couldn't get the job done! Please give me another chance!"
Rez slowly floated over to Mooshoo and stared at him, static buzzing around in his eyes. "You have failed me again Mooshoo. Even with the help of my ultimate creation, you have failed in killing Gex!"
"But master, I know I cou-" Mooshoo started as a claw penetrated into his chest as he stopped dead in his tracks.
"I told you I will not tolerate failure on my watch. Consider yourself, derezzed!" Exclaimed Rez as Mooshoo exploded, leaving nothing behind. "So, even my ultimate creation couldn't stop you. Very well Gex!" Rez pushed a button as a lion's head in the Media Dimension opened its mouth. "If you want to play, lets play!"
*Media Dimension*
I landed on a platform that started flying towards a giant lion's head. The mouth slowly opened as I peered inside. I jumped inside and looked around, seeing that this area had a few floating pieces of platforms and nothing much else. This must be where Rez is creating some distortion within the Media Dimension. I peered to my right and saw a giant television screen with the word "Rezopolis" glowing in bright green.
"Well Rez, I finally found you after all this time! I'm coming for you and making you into robot scrap!" I yelled as I jumped inside.
