Ch.1

Andrew stared out the window of the limo, he didn't want to look at his father. Nor does he think he might look at himself the same way after today. For in his desperation to avoid bondage, he had unwittingly subjected an innocent girl to the whims of his father's political ambition. This girl however, he believed to be incorruptible. He had met her not too long ago during his and his father's visit to Luna Nova, a formerly prestigious academy for witches, when shed somehow managed to give herself rabbit ears. Now she wasn't the most gifted witch by any means as even she admitted she was lacking in such talents. However, he found her to be eternally driven by this odd energy he himself could not decipher. In essence she was less formal, she was clumsy, distracted, and the pure opposite of ladylike. However, he found her to be engrossing and unpredictable.

Unlike most she did not to appear to swoon upon the site of him, nor did she become to overwhelmed with greed that he could see her eyes turn slowly green. Truly she seemed to be perfectly incorruptible. Since their unusual encounter that day they have formed the most unlikely of bonds. While he ideally would've preferred not to be in this position at all. He new the situation provided made it necessary to do so. "we are coming up on the academy" his father spoke from across the aisle. "remember your courting etiquette Andrew, just because this girl is low born doesn't mean you have to act like one as well. Show her what she'll be expected to act like in the future we have for her and remind her that any remnant of her old self must be left to die should she wish to climb the latter and be a larger player in this game." His father spoke in a slightly spiteful tone.

"Of course, father" Andrew said simply in order to avoid any further conversation with the old man. Finally, into view came the towering structures of Luna Nova Academy. From his history lessons as a child, he briefly recalled that the school itself was centuries old and was built in a time in which magic was a necessary part of life and to some a luxury. The tallest and most imposing of these structures was a large tower containing a massive stone that constantly illuminated a green light. If he had been informed correctly this seemed to be the source of the witche's power and had been for as long as the building had stood. As the Limo pulled up to the gates of the academy Andrew could see various professors scurrying about outside the entrance to get in position for their arrival. He did suppose that their visit was unprecedented as his decision had been made quite suddenly. It's likely they were informed of this visit mere moments ago and seek to do as much as they can before his and his father's arrival. With the sun setting in the west he knew it soon to be nightfall, under this shroud he would meet with Akko and speak on the meaning of his visit. Though knowing well, he would have to make a public proposal prior to this he made sure to prepare and make it appear unexpected amongst the crowd of the school's girls. He simply hoped the poor girl was ready for what was to come.

"Of course, he is here for YOU Diana!" Whispered one of Diana's friends while in class that evening. It had been like this all day for Akko. This morning she had woken up to Lotte and Sucy already awake and chatting by her bed. "I wonder what's with the sudden visit. Usually Andrew and his dad only come around when it's really important. Do you think something happened in the school we don't know about?" Lotte asked Sucy just as Akko began to rise and rub her eyes. "As much as I'd enjoy that nothing really bad happens at this school unless we are involved. Which is a shame really this place could use a bit of sadness. It's been far too cheery around here for my taste. Besides, haven't you heard the rumors apparently Andrew's father has been pressuring him to find a girlfriend and get hitched or something." Sucy said with a shrug. At the mention of Andrew and his supposed predicament Akko shot up and hit her head against the bunk above her causing her to recoil and attempt to sooth the large red bump growing on her head.

"Oh it's you, good morning" Sucy said as she finally noticed the wounded Akko trying to pull herself out of the fetal position. "H-Hey guys" she stated before letting out a loud yawn "So I heard you say Andrew is coming to visit?" she inquired as if begging them to continue. For a moment Sucy and Lotte shared a seemingly knowing look, small smiles spread on their faces before they shared a nod and returned their attention to a very confused Akko. "You didn't hear, Andrew's dad is forcing him to marry someone. Rumor has it he's coming here to pick someone from this school." Lotte spoke with an odd vigor in her voice. Akko however, seemed less excited, shed hoped that shed misheard them when they'd spoke prior. Unfortunately, she had heard them all too correctly for her own liking. "Oh…well I suppose that's nice. Even snobs deserve to be happy after all…so who do you think the oh so lucky girl is? I'm betting it's Diana personally. Snobs should be with snobs after all." Akko remarked with a slight tone of spite in her voice though it more so came out as childish and petty.

Once again sharing a look, Sucy and Lotte simultaneously held up their hands and directed a finger at Akko. At this the poor girl sputtered "M-me, you honestly think it's going to be me? That's impossible, your both absolutely insane." Akko accused the pair before turning away from them. Her cheeks as red as cherry tomatoes. As one would assume, the day went on like this for quite some time. At around lunch, she even noticed certain girls wearing one of two types of pins. The first being an orange pin with deep blue letters upon it that read "Team Akko" while the other, a striking blue pin that read "Team Diana". Now how she suddenly became part of her own apparent young adult romance franchise she didn't know, though she had her suspicions when she spotted Sucy grinning like a mad man back at the table.

In the middle of class with Lotte, and unfortunately Diana, a knock came to the door and subsequently interrupted the teachers lesson. "Oh, that must be them" the teacher noted as she rushed to the door and practically flung it open with glee. There in the doorway stood Andrew, she knew he was coming and yet still found it surprising to see him after such a while. Breifly his eyes scanned the room before landing on me and giving me his usual cold but strangely empathetic stare. Then he approached me, at an alarmingly fast rate I might add, and knelt before my desk upon his knee and spoke "Akko Kiragi, as a once dear friend I come before in my greatest hour of need. I come before you with great urgency to ask for your hand in matrimony." As you can imagine my heart nearly stopped in that instant for I had really imagined him to be here for Diana. Briefly I heard muttered sighs and girls passing money in the background. While I was momentarily appalled that so many of them took bets on this, I noticed how each of them stared at me expectantly. Each of their piercing eyes tearing into my very soul. Not knowing what else to do I turned my gaze back to Andrew who kept up his cold façade. "uh yeah sure…o-ok" I said, not knowing what I had gotten myself into.

(Forgive me for all my mistakes but I just have so many more stories to catch up on and beg you all to consider that as a student I don't have much time to find beta readers or edit.)
