Hi again! Well, not much to say here. Just Red being sulky :P

Poke-ball 6: Uncharacteristic

That stupid, stupid Blue!

Red stomped through Viridian Forest, unmindful of the fiery rainbow of leaves descending and crunching underfoot. It was unlike him to ignore the beauty of nature in any season. Though, admittedly, it was his least favorite time of year. The shedding trees rustled with Pokemon, but no Weedle or Caterpie was about to get in Red's way. He had pummeled the creatures enough to inspire a natural fear in all of them.

That, and it was his Pikachu's old home. They already knew it far too well before Red even became a Trainer. And seeing the scowl on both yellow rodent and human master alike…it shouldn't have been much of a surprise that it was a peaceful trip.

Which, of course, irritated Red and his Pikachu even more. He really could have used a battle right now, even if it was against weaklings.

You're just a kid, Blue had said. No he wasn't. He took down Team Rocket. He took down the League. He even took down Blue. He expected some respect for doing that. That was the point, wasn't it? Instead he was stared at, laughed at, or scrutinized about his daily habits. Who cares what sandwich he decided to get at the Saffron Restaurant? He certainly didn't: he couldn't even remember, and that was sometime yesterday. Or was it the day before? A week? Whatever. The berries his Pokemon found for him were better.

What happened to being partners? To being rivals that kept each other sharp like swords, so nothing stood against them? Blue considered himself inferior now? That disturbed Red.

…But, perhaps he was right. Red won all the Pokemon battles, including the battle for the Champion title. Blue took down the Gyms and Elite Four in record time, but he had little to do with the Team Rocket takedown. And there was his grandpa lecturing him right after he had lost the Champion title, talking about he was missing something vital…

Shut up, old man.

He wasn't Champion long, but Blue had been Champion. Were you ever Champion, geezer? Red may have beaten Blue, but Blue still remained the toughest opponent he ever faced. To see him losing that edge…it was so uncharacteristic of him, to be just napping under a tree, reluctant to battle.

He had to do something about that. Red craved for battle, real battle, against the League, but he wasn't stupid. As much as he wanted to, he couldn't do it alone. He needed Blue there, raring for adventure and combat. But what to do about that? Perhaps Blue needed a challenge. Not a simple skirmish. Something on the level of Team Rocket…like maybe…

IIIIII

Uh-oh, sounds like Red's up to something. Hope you enjoyed!
