Everyone believed he had faded after that. Everyone trying to find anything which might bring him back, but coming back empty-handed. After a while, people had just stopped trying, simply going on high alert for any assassins which could have pulled off the job. Everyone except those who knew what had happened, that is

Earth: August 18th, 1993

A woman named Sally Jackson was smiling brightly down at a blue bundle in her arms, watching her baby boy, Perseus, as he slept peacefully in her arms. He had raven black tufts of hair and eyes that were unusually sea green but would shift every now and then to a blue or red, but Sally just shrugged it off, believing it was just a common thing among half-bloods. She couldn't have known better, after all.

As she smiled down at her child sleeping, her thoughts wandered to how she would tell Perseus off his father, what she would do about his scent. She sighed, looking at the child and calming her nerves down. She would cross those bridges when she came to them. Unfortunately enough, she would come to one of them much sooner than she ever could have imagined.

Percy: Age 4

Perseus, or Percy as he preferred, was currently celebrating his fourth birthday with his mom while Gabe was away, his mom taking the day off from her work to spend it with him. He forgot all about how awful Gabe was as he spent time with his mother. She wasn't around much with how much she worked, but it didn't matter to him as long as he got to see her before he went to bed.

Right now, they had just finished opening presents and his mother had just said that she was going to take him on a trip. To say he was excited was an understatement, he had been stuck at their small apartment with Gabe since he was 2, the closest trip he had ever been on was going to the aquarium once when he was 3, but it wasn't all that enjoyable. He had sworn that the fish and other animals were talking to him but everyone had just stared at him oddly. Like once when he told a girl his age that the stingray called her a 'female dog' when she wouldn't stop poking, talking, and pointing at him every chance she got. Percy and his mother had left pretty soon after he had said that, for some reason Percy had never quite figured out.

They were currently driving towards a place called Montauk. Percy was eating blue candy while she was driving. It took around 8 hours to get there, right on the shore off a beach. The place they would be staying was a dusty, small shack, but it didn't matter much to Percy. After all, it's not like he'd be spending much time inside. Since it was so late at night when they arrived, his mother promised him they would go outside in the morning, saying they had to get to sleep soon or else they wouldn't have enough energy to play later, which got Percy to bed pretty quickly.

He woke up to the amazing smell of blue pancakes in the morning, jumping out of the makeshift bed he had shared with his mom and running over to the table where they were laid out. He ate them pretty quickly, chugging his glass of orange juice before going to put on his swimsuit. Sally was already holding the bucket of beach toys, waiting for Percy to join her to walk out to the shore of the water. He had run up and grabbed her hand, pulling them out the door and down to the shore despite his mom telling him to slow down and be careful.

He was splashing around in the small waves that came up to just around his knees when a few fish started swimming around him, making circles around his ankles, "Milord, it's an honor for you to be here!" one of them said, causing Percy to stare down at them with wide eyes before turning to where his mother sat a little off on a large towel, book in hand.

"Mommy! The fish are talking again!" he yelled towards her, pushing away wet hair which stuck to his forehead, causing it to stand up awkwardly.

"That's okay, sweetheart, it's normal for kids like you," she said with a half-hearted smile. Percy just pursed his lips and shrugged, continuing to play while the fish swam around him and talked more, he even responded to them every once in a while.

"Milord Markus, where is Lord Poseidon? Have you seen him anywhere?" one fish randomly asked, making Percy pause in his motions of scooping up a small bucket of water.

His face scrunched up. "Who's Markus? And I don't really know about the Po dude." He had said back, accidentally dropping his bucket and quickly dropping onto all fours in the water to get it. The fish quickly scurried to a father distance out of the way of Percy. The fish who had asked let out an "Oh,"

The fish who had asked let out an "Oh," quickly adding, "Forget what I said, milord, you have nothing to worry about." as Percy stood back up, empty bucket in hand. He turned and ran out of the water, flinging water about as he made his way back to his mother, already beginning to tell her about what the fish had said before he was all the water to her.

She had held him at an arms distance, eyes-widening with a cold gleam to them upon Percy telling her everything. "Don't worry about Poseidon and what the fish say, Percy. How 'bout we go and make a sand castle the size of you over there," Sally pointed to where the sand was wet, turning back to Percy, "But tell me if the fish say anything else, okay?"

"I will, come on, let's go!" Percy had quickly answered, "Grab all the shovels, I'll get the buckets!" he said while running off with two buckets in his hands, kicking up sand onto his mother accidentally as he ran off.

"Perseus Jackson!"

Percy: Age 6

Percy was hiding underneath his bed, hands covering his ears, trying to drown out the sound of his mother being beaten by Gabe. He sniffled, moving his hands to clench his arm as he bled from a cut he'd received from Gabe as he tried to stop him from hitting her and was subject to the receiving end of Gabe's elbow, sending Percy into the sharp corner of a table, cutting his arm in the process. Gabe had jerked him up by his hurt arm, ignoring Percy's cries of pain as he dragged him into his room, telling him to not leave and then closing the door.

Percy choked back a sob and then stopped, noticing that he couldn't hear his mom anymore. He gasped as he heard a noise like someone was choking then heavy footsteps began to head towards his room. Percy was terrified, wondering what the noise had been and what was happening. Percy covered his mouth to keep himself quiet as his door opened and the smell of alcohol overwhelmed his senses.

"Where are you, y-you little shit?" He could hear Gabe slur, grunting as he kicked aside Percy's toys, breaking things, and trying to find where Percy was. Percy watched Gabe's boots slowly make their way to where Percy was, checking through Percy's closet, dumping out his toy chest, then swiping his hand over Percy's desk, throwing everything on it to the ground, ignoring as the lamp which used to be on it shattered, sending little bits of glass everywhere, skidding across the floor. Suddenly, Gabe's boots came to a slow stop before Percy's bed. He could hear Gabe removing the sheets and watched as they landed on the floor, his pillow and everything else soon following. Then it was quiet as Gabe's hand reached below the bed, lifting it slightly as his face came down to stare at Percy's tear-streaked face.

"There you are," he said, smiling then grabbing him by his arm, pulling him out from below the bed. He roughly pulled Percy along, ignoring as Percy struggled and strained against him, crying out as pieces of glass embedded themselves into Percy's uncovered feet. He jerked him along and out of the room, heading towards the kitchen where Percy began to cry harder at the sigh of the bloodied figure of his mother. Her body was bruised, cut up, and bent unusually, a large kitchen knife sticking out of her gut. Percy choked on his sobs, being unable to catch himself as Gabe suddenly threw him to the side, Percy's head slamming against the wall.

Percy was dizzy and stunned, everything seemed to be happening a lot slower. His head felt weird, every slight movement giving him vertigo and a wave of nausea washing over him. He slowly began to sit up as Gabe came over and backhanded him, sending up back down to the ground with a cry of pain.

"If it wasn't for you, none of this would've fucking happened! Look around, kid, this is all your fault!" He yelled at Percy. Percy cried harder, believing if it wasn't for him being born, his mother wouldn't have had to be with Gabe, could've lived a peaceful, normal life, where she would be happy. But because of him, she was dead, and he wasn't strong enough to save her, all he did was give up and hide as soon as Gabe had grabbed him. He believed her death was on his hands.

Gabe walked closer to Percy, getting right into his face and sneering, making Percy reel as the disgusting stench of alcohol flooded his senses again. "You're gonna pay for all the things you've done, you little shit," Gabe stood up, fumbling around to grab a stray beer bottle and break it against the coffee table, he then turned to Percy, gripping the neck of the bottle with the broken end pointed towards Percy. Percy had tears running down his face, choked sobs racking through his body as Gabe slowly made his way closer to him. He couldn't even think he was so overcome with emotions, rage, self-loathing, sadness, it was all too much for him.

He let out a broken scream as Gabe reared his arm back to thrust the bottle forward toward Percy. Red, black, blue, and white flooded his vision, when it all went away, the white slowly fading, he looked to where Gabe used to be. There was just a small pile of ash and everything in the room was broken and shattered, everything thrown against the opposing wall except for the pile of ash in front of him. He could hear police sirens off in the distance, some part of him subconsciously knew they were coming there.

He wasn't feeling as bad as he had used to, his nausea almost none existent along with the pain. Adrenaline or something else, he didn't know, but he didn't have time to think before he ran to his room and picked up his already dumped out bookbag, quickly throwing everything he could think of into it, throwing on his jacket and shoes, just running his hand along the soles of his feet to brush off any glass he could and ignoring the pain, before running out the door and down the stairs of the apartment, almost tripping on his way down from the stabbing pain from his feet. As soon as he was on the ground floor, he took off running into the woods, not stopping until he suddenly collapsed. The adrenaline which had kept him going running out. He cried, leaning against a tree, pulling his jacket tighter around him as the cold started to get to him as well. He couldn't stop the onslaught of thoughts which overtook him, everything which had happened replaying over and over again in his head. Choked sobs racked his body, his head throbbing in pain as he just cried, his cries slowly becoming less and less as exhaustion consumed him. His sobs turned to sniffled, random groans and quickness of breath and he finally passed out.

A/N That was the end of Chapter 2, there will be more cursing and stuff like that in future chapters just for your information. If you enjoyed R&R, they're always appreciated. That's all for now, bye.
