You guys should listen to Faraway by Kulakostas. Has nothing to do with the story, just a hella good song.
It had been five centuries since the 'assassination' of Perseus, still, everyone thought he was dead.
The Primordials were in the middle of a council meeting when they felt the power surge, no one could depict exactly where it came from, only which planet: Earth. They all shared one last glance and disappeared in a flash, all traveling to Earth to find the source of the power.
Most of the Olympians were fussing over Zeus' child, Thalia, and Poseidon's child, Marcus, when the surge of power was felt. The rest of the Olympians were just at each other's throats with other matters. Everyone stopped immediately when they felt it, Zeus standing up promptly, lightning bolt in hand.
"Artemis, go to your huntresses and hunt down whatever that was and where it is now. Everyone else, we're going to where it happened." Zeus ordered. Artemis nodded, flashing away with the rest of the council to their locations.
The majority of the Olympians got to the apartment, looking around at the scene not noticing Poseidon look away from the group, hiding his look of recognition and surprise from the rest of them before getting to work.
"Hermes, stay outside for when the police arrive, keep them out until we're done. Everyone else is investigating," Zeus ordered. Hermes nodding before retreating down the complex's stairs.
They all had their weapons drawn as Ares walked up and grunted something before kicking the door to the apartment down. They didn't expect what they'd find on the other side. The only thing in the living room was a pile of ash, what appeared to be everything else was shattered and smashes against the opposing walls. Blood was strewn about the room in varying amounts, a bigger group of it near the pile of ash, and a pool of blood surrounding the body of a woman. There was an overwhelming smell coming from the apartment, a mix of garbage, alcohol, and the metallic smell of blood. All of the Olympian's eyes widened upon seeing the inside of the apartments. Demeter and Aphrodite turning away from the apartment and stepping outside from the smell of it. Apollo split off from them, checking all the other rooms from any trace of what the power came from. Athena and Zeus scrutinized every inch of the scene while the rest of the Gods were either inspecting like Apollo or having stepped outside with Demeter and Aphrodite. After around just twenty minutes, they'd found nothing. Only that a child which had to have lived there was missing.
As they were all grouped up, discussing everything that could have happened, an Iris Message appeared in the middle of them. It showed Artemis standing with her huntresses in the forest.
Artemis sighed before starting, "I was able to track the source this far, the trail ends where we found some blood and a bag with very little provision and a picture of a mother and son. Other than that, there's just nothing, as if they just disappeared, even the leaves around the bag were undisturbed when we found them." She explained.
"Can you show us the picture, Artemis?" Athena asked. Artemis nodded, turning as one of the huntresses handed her a frame, turning back and showing them the picture. The glass was cracked, frame bearly hanging together, the picture showed a woman with dark-brown hair, blue eyes, and tan skin smiling with her arms wrapped around a young boy that looked like a toddler. He had raven black hair and bright, sea-green eyes, a tan similar to the woman's smiling along with her.
The Olympians compared the woman in the picture to the one lying dead in the kitchen, all coming to an unspoken, unanimous conclusion. Athena sighed, "That must be the child that used to be here. But could he be the one which caused all of this?" She asked, gesturing around the room.
"I'm not sure, but if he is, then he's too powerful to be kept alive. You all felt that power which resonated from here, and by the looks of the child's room, he must be around seven. Seven and he could've caused all of this." Zeus said, watching as he got a few nods of agreement. He turned back to the Iris Message, looking at Artemis. "Look everywhere for the child, you know what he looks like from the picture and might be able to get his sent from his belongings. We cannot let a child this powerful wander around freely." He said gruffly. Artemis nodded and motions to her huntresses, swiping through the Iris Message.
He quickly turned to the rest of the Olympians once it ended. "Council meeting." He said before flashing himself and the others to the throne room.
Underground
Percy didn't know what had happened only that he felt himself be lifted and woke up in shock. The ground didn't feel like the forest floor, and looking around he couldn't see anything through the darkness yet had that feeling of the sun being directly on him.
He tried to stand up but immediately fell back down from dizziness and a sudden spiking pain from around his entire body. His eyes had clenched themselves closed and he slowly opened them, watching as five being appeared from nowhere. Percy's eyes widened, staring at the at the two men and three women in front of him. Going left to right, there was a woman with dark tan skin, green eyes, which were half opened as if she was asleep, and dark brown hair, she was wearing a long green dress with gold accents. Beside her was a pale woman with dark grey, almost black hair, her eyes were a light purple and her eyes were half open, wearing a long purple dress like the other woman, but while a shawl over her shoulders, she looked older than the first woman. Next was a man, old like the older woman, he had tan skin, white hair, gold eyes, a trimmed, white beard covering the lower half of his face, he had on a golden robe of sorts with white accents. Percy could see where his eyes crinkled, he was smiling at him. Beside him was a man in all black clothes, it all looked something like a suit if it wasn't for how every inch of him seemed to shift along with the shadows around him, he had pale skin and dark black eyes, his dark hair gelled to the side in a part. He had a weird gleam to his eyes as he smiled at Percy. Lastly, there was a young woman with platinum blonde hair and intense blue eyes with hints of yellow, she was tan and had a lean figure, wearing a white one-shoulder dress with gold accents.
His eyes widened, taking them all in, "Oh no," was all he managed to get out under his breath before the man with dark hair began to laugh.
"Chaos, Erebus, we haven't even spoken with the boy yet," the woman in purple said, rolling her eyes. "Hemera, deal with him." The blond girl smiled then kicked the man in the back of the knee, elbowing him in the cut as he fell slightly.
"I haven't the slightest clue how you get away with doing that to your own father, Hemera" the old man in gold muttered.
"It's called supportive parenting, Chronos," the dark-haired man, Erebus, said, slowly standing, a hand holding on to his stomach.
"That's one word for it," The woman in green threw in, crossing her arms and then turning to Percy. "Do you know who we are, child?" she asked, looking at him while raising a hand to stop the rest of the group from speaking.
Percy swallowed, shaking his head. "N-no, ma'am."
"At least he has better manners than Erebus," the woman in purple said, turning to Chronos, the old man in gold. He was staring at him, pulling on his beard before turning to look at the woman in purple.
"Ha!" Erebus suddenly said, pushing Chronos' arm. "He called you old." Percy's eyes widened, staring at Erebus. How'd he know that?
"W-Who are you all?" Percy asked, trying to stand before his knees gave out below him and he fell to back against the dirt wall once again. He winched at all the pains which overtook him once more.
They were all turned to him, worry showing in their eyes. The woman in purple stepped forward, coming to kneel in front of him and hold out her hand, a strange feeling overtook him, watching as all the bruises, cuts, and wounds around his body began to heal, disappearing after just a few seconds.
"I am Ananke," she said, gesturing to herself. "That's Chronos," she said, pointing at the old man, "Hemera," the girl in white, "Erebus," he knew him, "And then that's Gaea," she said, pointing to the woman with her eyes half closed and wearing a green dress.
Chronos nodded to him while Gaea and Hemera smiled and waved. Erebus then did a two finger salute. "Howdy."
Percy tilted his head at the man, eyebrows scrunching up in a way to express his disbelief. "Hi?"
"Well, I think introductions went well!" Erebus said enthusiastically, clapping his hands together, getting weird looks from the rest of the group in response.
Chronos sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose between his forefinger and thumb. "Well, I suppose we should explain what all had happened," He said, getting nods from the rest of them as they turned to Percy. "Well, child, you see..."
30 Minutes Later
"...and we were left unable to take action against them until we felt the surge come from Earth just a little bit ago." Chronos finished. Percy had completely blanked out after Chronos started describing the daggers, instead just nodding along with a blank stare, trying not to fall asleep.
"And your point is?" Percy asked, eyebrows scrunched up in an annoyed and tired manner. Chronos groaned into his heads while the rest of them shook their heads and expressed their annoyance.
"Chaos,"
"Christ,"
"I wish God wasn't my mother,"
"You didn't listen to the story, did you?" Erebus asked. Percy shook his head slowly.
"I blanked after you started describing the daggers," Percy replied. Chronos sighed in exasperation.
"You know what, let's skip you telling that again and just get the point, Chronos," Hemera said, Percy and Erebus both nodded furiously.
"I guess your right, the point is that we believe you to be our Perseus except that he must have pulled off a very ancient spell that I just barely remember. The spell uses a lot of power... you probably used Chaos and your sister's power that they shot at you to cast it then probably did the incantation in your head and somehow timed perfectly making it look like you died in the blasting." He said. Percy pondered this thought for around a second.
"You sure I am? 'Cuz I'm probably not," Percy stated, Erebus tried to nod with him but got slapped upside the head by Ananke.
"Show us your arm and focus on bad memories, shouldn't be hard," Chronos murmured the last line getting him slapped upside the head by Gaea. Percy shrugged tiredly and uncovered his forearm while focusing on seeing his mother in the state she was in before.
A few seconds later he heard murmurs, "Yeah, it's you, kid" he heard Erebus say. He looked down at his arm and saw a glowing midnight blue symbol of a vortex with four beams that were blue, red, black, and white shooting out of it.
"That wasn't there before," Percy said, staring at it with wide eyes.
"Well, what now? If I am your Percy what am I supposed to do about it, I don't have the memories you guys told me about. Besides, it's not like I could do anything like you guys talked about, I couldn't even protect my own mother." Percy said, looking down sadly.
They gave him sympathetic looks, "Well, I suppose we should train you privately. Get you up and in good condition, your mind off everything that happened in the past. Besides, we believe you to also be the Prophecy kid. When the time is right; we'll send you out to save the world. Plus, with being with us -your best buds- maybe we can get your old memories back. So, you up for it?" Erebus offered. The others stared at him surprisedly.
"Wow, Erebus, you come up with that yourself?" Gaea asked.
"Nah, I'm flattered, I stole it from Ananke when waiting for Percy to wake up," he said. Percy mentally face-palmed, if he was right the Primordials are the most powerful beings in the Universe. Then there is this guy. Maybe it's just his personality Percy said to himself.
Everyone was still waiting for Percy's answer to what Erebus proposed. Thinking quickly, he just said, "Ugh, sure, not like I have anything else to do."
"That's the spirit!" Erebus shouted, earning him an elbow from Hemera.
"On to another note, training and growing up with us would make you the most powerful demigod of all time, Hercules was just an ass. Named after Hera, I feel bad for her getting an arrogant fool in her namesake." Chronos said. Percy stifled an awkward laugh that sounded weird to himself.
"I think we all agree with you, but we all should start with where and who would train Percy and for how long. He should probably train with all of us for certain time periods, or should we just do it all together?" Hemera asked, flipping away a stray piece of hair in her face. The others thought about this, talking amongst each other while Percy sat there awkwardly twiddling his thumbs.
"We can decide training later, we should first settle where he should stay and train with all of us. The poor boy looks dead tired, we can discuss it later," Ananke said. Percy thanked her over and over again in his head, swearing he heard a faint 'Your welcome' but shrugging it off.
"Ananke's right, how about putting him in that abandoned cavern that I never got to use because of Ourea. I doubt even Chaos knows about it." Gaea said. The others thought it over then agreed.
"Is it renovated, or at least made homey?" Chronos said. Gaea nodded, answering any other questions about it they had then coming to the decision that it should be the place.
"Okay, we all agree on the living accommodations for Percy, correct?" Chronos asked, there was a chorus of yeses. Gaea snapped her fingers and Percy was teleported onto a couch in the middle of a huge living room with many rooms leading out of it, plus a vast amount of hallways leading all different ways, he could see a mini kitchen behind the couch he was on. He wasn't the only one surprised at the looks of the place because the others also had looks of awe on their faces.
"Well never thought Aunt Gaea could make a place look so good. You said it was a cavern, too, right?" Hemera asked, there were nods of agreement. Gaea huffed and mumbled something that sounded like 'I can make places look good if I tried'.
"Well, I think this is a pretty good place to keep Perseus," Ananke said while turning to Percy. Percy got a confused look as she placed a finger to his forehead and then said, "Sleep." his vision quickly being overwhelmed by darkness.
A/N That was Chapter 3, I hope you liked it. If so R&R, reviews are always appreciated. That's all for now, bye.
