It seemed to Albus Dumbledore that he was spending most of his time from preventing Severus from making Hermione rue the day she ever gave him a love potion.
Not that he blamed Severus for wanting revenge ; if he had been given a love potion and then married Umbridge he'd want to make the person suffer, but Severus is adult and Hermione is a teenage girl.
Hermione did not help matters by asking "hows the wife?" every time she saw Severus.
Whether Hermione was doing it on purpose to get a reaction or she was genuinely curious about Severus soon to ex-wife no one was sure, but then again no one was sure why Hermione did anything that she did.

Ever since Hermione gave Professor Snape a love potion she had received funny looks from the other students .
For the life of her Hermione could not figure out why they were staring at her funny so she decided to ask Harry if he knew why.
'Harry why are people looking at me funny?' Hermione asked, her face showing a puzzled expression .
'Because even though Snape is a git he didn't deserve what you did to him and they want to tell you that, but they are afraid you will overreact ' Harry said really fast.
'When have I ever overreacted to anything?' Hermione said, causing Harry's mouth to drop open.
'Just the other day you threatened to destroy Hogwarts because you lost a sock and that is overreacting' Harry said, as if he was explaining to a small child.
'So everyone doesn't threaten to destroy the school when they lose a sock?' Hermione asked genuinely shocked at doing that was an overreaction.
'Um no Hermione they don't' Harry told her with a shake of his head.
'Well you learn something new everyday' Hermione said.
