Time Fixers: Nicktoons of the Future
Episode 14: Nicktoon Genesis Zero
Plot: During Junior's night in the hospital, the Nicktoons comfort him by telling some origin stories with a twist. Crash tells of their ancestor, SpongeBuck SquarePants, who tracked down a group of bandits that made off with a treasure. Darry tells the story of when he was born and had to be rescued by his father. Finally, Maxwell tells the story of how he came from the future. But which story will keep Junior the most entertained?
Part 2
Later that night, Darry had already been put to bed and was sound asleep in his crib. Suddenly, the window opened and two shadowy figures quietly jump in. The Guys in White agents approach Darry's crib and stare at him still sleeping. "Infant target still in dormant state." Agent O notified.
"Preparing Operation: School Bus Deployment." Agent K added, unaware that on the dresser behind them was the baby monitor that was transmitting their conversation to the one sitting on the dresser next to Danny's side of the bed. Danny opened his eyes when he heard a voice on the baby monitor, "Should we pack a diaper bag for the trip?"
"Sam?" Danny whispered as he lightly shook her awake, "I may be new to the whole parent thing, but I'm pretty sure Darry is not at the age where he's supposed to be talking."
The couple rushed into their son's bedroom and gasped to see the crib empty and Darry nowhere in sight. "My baby!" Sam cried in horror as her eyes water.
But Danny noticed the open window and rushed over to see a white van below start up and drive away. He glares and states with tranquil fury, "They took the wrong kid." He changes into ghost form and flies out the window to follow the ghost hunters. Sam then takes out her phone and quickly calls someone.
In the van, Agent K drives and smirks with satisfaction. "I can't believe we managed to pull this off."
Agent O sits in the passenger seat while holding a sleeping Darry. "Believe it, and soon we'll raise this ghost boy into a more respectful agent of the law than Phantom ever was."
Suddenly, they hear knock on the glass window and see Danny Phantom flying next to the passenger side as he remarks, "You know there are safety laws that require babies to be secured in car seats." In response, Agent K steps on the gas and speeds away from Danny.
Danny glares and uses his ghost manipulation on the van, causing it to stop. Noticing they weren't moving, Agent K presses hard on the gas and the motor thrusts until the van manages to break free. Danny ends up being yanked forward onto the ground until he looks up and sees the van getting away with his son.
Darry started groaning and whimpering as he shook his arms and legs. Agent O notifies, "Infant hybrid is regaining consciousness."
"Engage infant calming device." Agent K reached over and placed a pacifier in Darry's mouth, which he began sucking on as he fell back asleep.
Danny managed to catch up with the van and powered up a ghost ray, but then stopped when he realized the risk. "I can't run them off the road without hurting Darry." Danny said to himself, "So I'm gonna have to settle this hand to hand." He flew over to the van and grabbed on to the top, hoping to stop it.
Inside the van, they both hear the noise coming from the roof and Agent K states, "Phantom's still in pursuit. Initiate Operation: Buzzsaw Blast."
He presses a button on the steering wheel that makes a large ray gun pop out of the top. Blasts were heard from outside and the two agents smile at each other, believing they finally shook off Danny. But suddenly, the half-ghost lands on the windshield, staring into the van. "Give me back my son." He demanded.
But Agent K just pushed another button and declared, "Commencing Operation: Stormy Weather." This squirts water in Danny's face and activates the windshield wipers. The van turns a sharp corner, throwing the half-ghost off.
"That must've got rid of him." A satisfied Agent K said, but was suddenly hit in the head with the pacifier that Darry spit out as he grew fussy again. "Will you quiet him down?" He told his fellow agent.
"I'm trying to figure out how." Agent O responded, trying to keep hold of the squirming baby. But Darry became more and more upset as his crying grew louder. His body then starts to release a blue aura and his hair turns white. The aura overlaps the Guys in White as they begin losing control of the van.
Up ahead a barricade was set up on the street and standing behind it was Tucker, Valerie, Jazz, and police cars after receiving the distress call from Sam. "This should stop them." Tucker stated until they see the white van swerve around at fast speed uncontrollably and heading toward them. "Look out!" Tucker yelled before everyone moves out of the way.
The van barrels through the barricades and crashed into a nearby wall. Danny flies overhead and gasped to see the wreck, fearing for his son's life. But an intangible Darry phases through the roof of the van and floats upward, still crying loudly with white hair and a blue aura around him. Danny grabs Darry in his arms and holds him closely. "Shh, shh," Danny said in a gentle tone as he pats the baby's back. "It's okay, Darry. I'm here, Daddy's got you." As Danny comforts him some more, Darry starts to calm down as the blue ghost energy disappears and his white hair turns black.
Darry stops crying and looks up at his father, feeling happy to be with someone familiar. He hiccups while briefly turning invisible, but Danny just smiles and floats back down to the ground with Darry. Danny's friends surround him in concern over the baby, but Sam makes her way past them after having finally caught up with her husband. She sees Darry safe and sound and smiles in joy, hugging Danny and taking Darry into her arms.
"Oh, Darry, my sweet baby boy." She cried with joy, twirling Darry in the air and kissing his cheek several times. "You have no idea how scared I was about you."
Sam's parents arrived and Pam holds her daughter's shoulder as she asks in concern, "Sam, we heard what happened. Is Darry alright?"
"He's just fine." Sam assured with a smile as Darry waved. "Thanks to his father."
But the Fentons arrive and Jack holds the same weapon, only it now had soft blue padding with duck print. "Where are they?" Jack yelled, "Where are the punks who took my grandson?" But he suddenly looked at Danny cheerfully, "Hey Danny, check out Dar-bear's ghost weapon, now baby safe."
Danny chuckled nervously and assures, "It's alright, Dad. Darry is fine."
Maddie sighs in relief. "Oh, thank goodness."
Jack seems disappointed however. "Aww...I was looking forward to giving those punks a beating. Thought we'd show them who has the best fashion sense in ghost hunting." He said proudly in his orange jumpsuit.
They hear groaning and see the two agents stumble out of the wrecked van. As they slouched in defeat, scuffed up and bruised, Agent K states, "Infant target apprehended by biological parents."
Darry then laughs joyfully as he floats in the air. The agents beam up and Agent O holds out his hands as if wanting to take Darry. "Perhaps we haven't failed yet."
Jack glared and held up the ghost weapon. "Hands off my grandson!"
He fires a green blast at the Guys in White, who dodged out of the way, causing it to ricochet off the van, bounce off a stop sign, and directly hit Darry, who was still floating in midair. Everyone gasps in shock as Darry glows green and falls down while Sam catches him. "Darry!" She cries, looking at her baby, who still glows green.
"Now see what you've done!" A furious Pamela yells at Jack.
Jack felt guilty for harming his own grandson, but Darry stops glowing and just giggles. "Wait," Danny said, getting everyone's attention, "Darry looks alright." Darry was still smiling and laughing until he suddenly felt a sneeze coming on. Everyone ducks, expecting another ghost ray to shoot from his eyes, but instead the baby just let out a small sneeze. Standing back up, Danny stares at his son, perplexed by what happened. "Huh, no ghost rays this time."
Darry then waved his arms as if attempting to fly again, but he stayed in his mother's arms. "What's happened to Darry?" Jeremy asked, "Did that blast hurt him?"
Maddie takes out a device and scans both Darry and his father. While the device read ecto-signature in Danny, it showed nothing in Darry. "That's strange." Maddie said, "I'm not seeing any ectoplasmic energy readings in Darry."
"Dad, what does that ghost weapon do exactly?" Danny asked Jack.
"Nothing dangerous." Jack explained, "All it's supposed to do is neutralize ectoplasmic energy. It's..."
"...no different than the Fenton Crammer." Danny finished, remembering his father's earlier words. "That thing didn't hurt Darry; it just disabled his ghost powers."
Pamela stared at her grandson curiously. "So does that mean Darrel is now a normal boy?"
Sam smiled at Darry and answered, "He may be normal, but to me he's still special."
Hanging their heads in defeat, Agent K states, "Darrel Fenton is no longer containing ghost genetics."
"Abort plans for training." Agent O added as they prepare to leave.
But Sam glares and passes Darry to her husband. "Danny, can you hold Darry for a sec." She storms over to the agents and suddenly punches Agent O in the face, "This is for taking my son!" She follows up by kneeing Agent K in the stomach, "And that's for making him miss his bedtime!" Danny shields Darry's eyes from the violence. Sam storms away as the two GIW agents lay on the ground in pain until Mayor Foley signals them to be arrested. Jazz follows him while Valerie winks at the Fentons before following as well.
Sam takes Darry back and kisses his cheek. Pamela comes over and says, "Now that Darrel is safe, I think it's the perfect time to show you the new outfit I bought for him." She takes out a blue frock, waist coat, with a white ruffled collar.
"Excuse me," Maddie intervened while holding a small orange jumpsuit. "But I think Darry would like wearing this a lot more."
Jack agreed, "Perfect, it'll go with his ghost weapon."
But Jeremy yelled, "Darrel needs to grow up with a good influence in his life!"
"You got a problem with jumpsuits?!" Maddie furiously yelled.
As the in-laws argued, Danny and Sam stood together with Darry and disregarded them. Danny ruffled the baby's hair as he stated, "Well, normal or not, he's still special."
"Our special little boy," Sam said tenderly, gently kissing him on the cheek. Darry yawned and fell asleep in his mother's arms.
Danny chuckled until a thought came to him, "Hey, do you think there's a chance his ghost powers will come back?"
"Maybe he will when he's older, and one day becomes a famous superhero like you that everyone loves and respects."
"You got that right. And if we ever had a daughter, she would be nowhere near as cool and gnarly as-"
"DARRY!"
The story suddenly ended when Yuki confronted her brother. Glaring at him, Yuki stated, "I may not have existed yet, but I know for sure that didn't happen!"
Darry stared her down in return and retorted, "Well, I did exist and I know everything I said did happen!"
"Oh brother, Scottie." Maxwell groaned, rolling his eyes. "That story sounded even more inaccurate than the last one."
"It does contradict everything we've known about you up to this point." Tammy awkwardly agreed.
Tommy crossed his arms and skeptically. "That's not the only thing it contradicts."
"You see?" Yuki told Darry with a smirk. "I'm not the only one who knows your whole story is bogus."
Darry stared furiously at Yuki. "Why, you little... I'll tell you what's bogus..."
Yuki yelled over him, "You wanna know what's bogus?!"
Everyone shifts awkwardly as the Fenton siblings argue loudly. But it was stopped when someone said, "Ahem!" They stop to see Danny Fenton standing at the door. "I hope this hospital has a padded room cuz I'm looking at a couple of soon to be patients."
Both Darry and Yuki crossed their arms and glare at each other. The latter speaks up, "Dad, Darry is telling lies again."
Darry retorts, "No, it was a story. A story based on facts."
Junior smiles as he says, "I liked it, Mr. Fenton. It was about how Darry first got his powers when he was born and those mean Guys in White tried to take him from his mommy and daddy."
"You left out the good part, Junior." Crash added, "Where Mr. Fenton chased 'em down until he got Darry back."
Kida then gushed, "Baby Darry was so cute."
Danny looked surprised when he heard all this. "I can see why you're all confused."
"Let me guess." Tommy dully said, rolling his eyes. "You're gonna tell us that everything Darry said is fake."
"Actually," Danny said with a smile. "There is one part of that story that's actually true."
"What?!" Some of the Nicktoons exclaimed in shock that something in Darry's tall tale was real.
Darry had his eyes tightly shut and his fingers crossed as he muttered, "Ghost powers, ghost powers, ghost powers..."
Danny began to explain, "A few weeks after Darry was born, the Guys in White did come wanting to take Darry under their wing since they believed there was a slight chance that he inherited my powers. But Sam and I of course refused and that was that. It definitely didn't lead to any kidnapping or car chase."
Hearing this, Yuki and Maxwell glare at him, realizing they were right that Darry made up most of the story. With a sheepish chuckle, Darry said, "Well, at least it was still gnarly."
Entertained by how Darry told his story, Danny tussled his son's hair. But then, his phone vibrated and saw that Jimmy was calling. He turned to his kids, "I have to take this. You have a half hour before it's time to go."
"A half hour?" Tammy repeated until she smiled. "I think we have time for one more story."
"Yay!" Junior cheered as he jumped on the bed. "One more story! Make it an exciting story!"
Tommy smiled and began, "Well, if it's an exciting finisher you want, then have I got a story for you."
But before he could start the story, Junior interrupted, "Actually, I wanna hear a story from Max."
Maxwell reacts with surprise. "What? But...but...I don't know any stories."
Tommy shrugs, "Well, if he doesn't have a story, I still have one that-"
But Tammy interrupted, "Oh, come on, Max. You must know one story."
SpongeTron also encouraged, "Yeah, maybe you can tell us an exciting adventure you had in the future you came from."
Maxwell froze and thought about the dream he previously had. Sitting in his chair, he hugged his knees in uncertainty. "I don't know..."
Tommy was about to speak and offer to tell his story again, but Junior interrupted, "Aww, come on, Max. I really wanna know about where you come from. Remember...you said you'd think about it."
"Besides, you promised us that you would tell us what happens in the future," Darry reminded, "Which by the way, does anything happen to... you-know-who?"
Maxwell frowned in annoyance and sighed before beginning, "Alright. It started ten years from now and I was fulfilling my role as the child of a genius."
His story starts in Retroville, only it's much more futuristic and advanced. In Lindbergh Elementary, Maxwell was wearing an orange shirt with blue trimming and an atom symbol as he worked on an experiment. Suddenly, the liquid lets out fireworks and Maxwell smiles proudly. Then, the robot teacher approaches and presents him with a test paper. "Congratulations Max. You received an A+++."
A boy in the back row yelled in joy, "I knew he could do it!"
"What do you expect from the son of Jimmy Neutron?" Another boy cheered.
A girl started to swoon over him. "He's smart and handsome."
Maxwell gathered his backpack and stood up. "Thanks for your praise, my peers. But I have to get home and meet up with my dad."
His classmates and teacher cheer as Maxwell leaves, and as he walks out of school, he steps into a hovercar that was similar to the one his father drove when he was Maxwell's age.
'I was really excited that day.' Maxwell narrated. 'My dad was working on a special project for months and he was finally gonna show me what it was.'
Maxwell reached what would normally be Nicktoon HQ, but it looked more like a palace. Once Maxwell opened the doors, the inside looked more like an observatory than a home. Maxwell walked to the middle and kneeled down.
Someone approached him and stood tall, wearing a brown cloak that covered his entire body. "Max, my son, are you ready to become a genius of my caliber?" He asked Maxwell.
Maxwell rose to his feet with enthusiasm and answered, "I sure am, Dad."
Smiling under his hood, his father answered, "Well, here you go." He tossed a device into Maxwell's hand and he saw it was the neural intelligence device. The device is attached the back of his head and this made Maxwell majestically float in the air as he felt the knowledge of the world enter his mind.
Soon Maxwell landed on his feet and pointed to the sides of his head as he recited, "The Earth is located 93 million miles from the sun, and traveling at 186,282 miles per second, sunlight is able to cross this vast distance in around 8 minutes and 20 seconds." Seeing his son's new intelligence, his father smiled and pat his head.
Maxwell smiled back and began to narrate, 'I had finally done it. I made my dad proud and he even offered to train me with the psychic abilities that came with the chip.'
Maxwell concentrates as he uses his powers to lift everything in the room; he even does this while hanging upside-down. He then jogs around the lab with Goddard tied to his back, and uses his powers to levitate a beamsword to deflect a small device that fired lasers and him.
Maxwell meditated as he narrated again, 'The good times couldn't last however as my training was cut short by an invasion.'
He heard a large blast from outside and ran outside to see many starships flying down and blasting the town while also dropping RA-Units to the ground. Maxwell gasped in fear, not knowing what was going on until he was approached by a square yellow robot on treadmills and had one eye. "Beep boop boop." It spoke in SpongeTron's voice.
Despite this, Maxwell understood what he was saying. "Retroville's being invaded...by the president?" His eyes widen in horror. "Where's my dad?"
"Beep boop beep."
"He went after him?" Maxwell repeated. "No... They're enemies, something could happen to him." His eyes narrow in determination, "I gotta do something. Come on, SpongeTron."
"Hold it!"
The story was interrupted by SpongeTron, who asked, "Am I really a one-eyed robot who can only beep in the future?"
Maxwell frowned in dismay and responded, "Uh, you wanted to hear the story, so let me tell it."
Darry smirks in amusement as he asks, "Not so good having your story interrupted, is it?"
Maxwell sighs in annoyance and continues, "Anywho, with my dad missing I had to go save him."
In the story, Maxwell puts on a blue robe and marches toward SpongeTron. "Okay, SpongeTron, get us up there." SpongeTron beeped again and suddenly transformed into a small rocket that Maxwell hops into and it takes off toward space.
Maxwell drives the rocket into space where there's a battle going on between the president's army and the resistance. "We just have to fight our way through, SpongeTron." Maxwell explained.
"Beep boop." The rocket says in SpongeTron's voice.
Maxwell smiles as he drives the rocket through the battlefield. The enemy ships fire at him, but Maxwell spins out of the way and fires back at the ships, blowing them up. "If only dad could see me now." Maxwell said with a smirk as he zooms through space, blowing up more ships that tried to fire at him.
Maxwell approaches a large space station shaped like a ball and drives the rocket towards it until he sees an opening on it. "There's our ticket inside." He says as he steers the rocket. He drove the rocket into the docking bay and jumped out as the rocket transformed back into SpongeTron, who beeps again.
"Okay, let's go find Dad." Maxwell said to the robot. They take a few steps until they are stopped by two men in business attire.
"Stop right there." One of the men said, "We have orders to apprehend anyone who comes in."
Maxwell lowers his hood and presses his fingers against the sides of his head. "We're not the boy and robot you're looking for."
Suddenly, the two men fall into a hypnotic trace and said, "You're not the boy and robot we're looking for."
"Now get lost." The two business men walked away, passing Maxwell and SpongeTron when Maxwell quickly yelled, "And you'll drop your card with access to the whole station!"
"And I'll drop my card with access to the whole station," one of the business men said, dropping his card key.
Using the card key to make his way through the station, he crouched around corners with SpongeTron to avoid being seen by other business men. After going through another door, he encounters two other business men who try to apprehend him. But a fearless Maxwell uses his psychic powers to slam them against the walls. Up ahead, he sees an automatic door with print reading 'Office President' on top. Maxwell turned to SpongeTron and said with determination, "Let's do it."
Maxwell swiped the card key and the door opened. He and SpongeTron went down a corridor until they came across a large bridge where his father is fighting the president whose whole body is draped in a black cloak. They were both clashing their beamswords. "You're too late, Neutron." The president declared as he swung his beamsword. "I already sent the robot into the past. It will annihilate you."
He blocks the beamsword with his own as he responds, "You realize with me destroyed in the past, I will never create the device."
"I have already calculated that outcome. Which is why I have an inside source in the past." He then uses telekinesis to throw Neutron backwards across the ground to a wider area and generated electricity to shock him while he screams and Maxwell gasps in horror.
"Like my new ability? It comes with my new contrivance. Who knew with an increased intellect that I can gain psionic abilities, did you?"
While he lied on the ground, panting in exhaustion, Neutron responded, "That... wasn't my intention."
Maxwell gasped in fear as he watched the president raise his beamsword and strike Neutron, but the latter blocked it with his own. As they attempt to push each other back the president raised one hand and stared intently at Neutron. "Mind Blast!"
Afterwards, Neutron screams and holds his head. While watch Maxwell's eyes widen in horror as he yells, "NOOOOO!"
"And then what happened?" Tammy asked Maxwell.
Maxwell paused for a moment, remembering that incident, especially what happened after. He looked up to his friends who wait anxiously for what's next.
Finally the story continues as Neutron falls to the ground, completely motionless. The president stands over him and raises his beamsword, preparing to stab the defenseless genius. But Maxwell yells out and the president is suddenly pushed backwards. Maxwell runs downstairs and rushes toward his father. He opens Neutron's hood to see that eyes are halfway open, but is unresponsive.
"Dad?" Maxwell called as he shook his father, but he remained unresponsive... "Dad, wake up! Dad, DAD!" Suddenly Maxwell was lifted into the air and he felt as if he was being choked. He opens his eyes to see the president raising his arm as he used his powers to kill Maxwell.
From under his hood, he smirks and sadistically says, "What an exhilarating day. I've nearly gained control over Retroville, and am about to destroy Neutron and his diminutive urchin." As Maxwell struggled for breath, the president added, "And now that I'm aware of Neutron passing down his completed intelligence chip to you, I'll be content to remove it from your body."
"Beep boop!" SpongeTron yelled as he came out of hiding and wheeled toward them.
The president just laughed mockingly. "This is Neutron's prized creation? Your mechanics have clearly not updated in quite some time."
But SpongeTron's appearance suddenly shifted and he grew larger until he was a giant armored robot. "Beep boop." He said in a deeper voice. SpongeTron lifted one first and slammed it against the floor, shaking the ground as the president fell over, releasing Maxwell.
Maxwell smirked as SpongeTron placed down a hand for him to land on. "Yeah, my little friend here got an upgrade," he said as the robot lifted him up.
With an angered growl, the president reactivates his beamsword and stands back up. Maxwell sees his father's beamsword on the ground and uses his powers to make it fly into his hand. Maxwell activates his beamsword and jumps at the president, clashing their beamswords together.
Maxwell spins and jumps around the president as they fight and Maxwell even runs up a wall and lunges at him as the push their beamswords at each other. As he smirks, the president states, "The chip is strong with you. You truly are your father's son."
With a glare, Maxwell sneered, "I'm gonna make you pay for what you did to my dad."
"You foolish boy. That robot I deployed ten years into the past is programed to eliminate your father and he won't even exist at this moment and I'll be the only genius in existence."
Maxwell gritted his teeth as he pushed his sword further. "It's a shame your father didn't give you time-traveling abilities," the president nearly gloated.
The president had more power over Maxwell, but his words sparked an idea in Maxwell's mind. He smirked, "You're right. I don't have time-traveling abilities... but I know someone who does!"
With every ounce of his strength, Maxwell knocks the president with a wave of telekinesis and quickly waved a hand to set off the sprinklers. The president covered himself with his hood, giving Maxwell enough time to run across the bridge and jump off it. As he fell, Maxwell whistled for SpongeTron who quickly covered the boy genius with his body as they slide down the tunnel and SpongeTron himself transforms into a jet and blasts out of the space station. As he watches where Maxwell escaped, the president's body gives off psychic electricity that matches his tranquil fury.
Soon Maxwell and SpongeTron arrive at a swampy area, walking through the murky water as they look for someone. While glancing around, Maxwell wonders, "Is he really here?"
"Beep boop." SpongeTron replies as he wheels next to Maxwell.
"Here, he is." A voice says as they turn to see an old but familiar looking small floating ghost with a long white beard, bald head, pointed ears, wearing a purple robe and holding a cane. "The Time Master is the one you seek, yes?"
"Yes," Maxwell said with a nod, "You're him, right? The Phantoms used to mention you all the time. I came to the conclusion that you can assist me with my plan to rescue my father."
The Time Master answers, "Of course I know that your father is in danger and you are in possession of his intelligence device."
"Because you're the master of time?"
"No...because I received this message from the princess of Retroville." He holds out a small device.
He activates it and it shows a holographic image of what looked like an 11-year-old Tammy wearing a white dress and her hair in buns on the side of her head. "We need to stop the president from taking over Retroville." The hologram said, "Help us, Time Master, you're our only hope."
Maxwell smiled and responded, "That's why I'm here. I came up with the idea that if I go back in time, I can rescue my dad from the robot in the past and retrieve the schematic for the device to prevent this from happening."
The Time Master responded, "Time is a precious thing, it is. But do you think you are ready to journey to the past and fix the time period?"
Maxwell smiled with confidence and replied, "You know I am."
"Beep boop beep." SpongeTron says as his body shakes.
Maxwell turned to him and put a hand on his head. "You have to stay here, SpongeTron. Keep an eye on things and I'll be back to save Dad."
SpongeTron fell silent and the Time Master levitated a silver medallion and placed it around Maxwell's neck. "Take this and it will increase your psychic powers and protect you in the past." Seeing the trinket, Maxwell smiles and the Time Master waves his cane to make Maxwell disappear into an orb of light. "Good luck, small genius, and may the chip be with you." Maxwell soon vanishes to the past as SpongeTron waves his body to say goodbye, hoping he'll come home safely.
"And that's how I came here from the future." Maxwell concludes his tale. "You are all aware of what occurs next and how I am still unsuccessful at retrieving my objective...I mean, the end." He crossed his arms and frowned and noticed everyone in the room staring at him in silence, until it was broken by Darry bursting into laughter.
Everyone looks at him strangely until Tammy asks, "Darry, what's so funny?"
Wiping a tear from his eye, Darry responds between laughter, "Ha, ha, ha, come on, guys, didn't you listen? Ha, ha, ha, Max calls our stories lame, but his seems even more unrealistic."
Offended, Maxwell marches over to him and snaps, "How would you know, Scottie? You weren't there!"
Darry shouted, "I don't need to be there to know that your story sounds more like those nine sci-fi movies I saw!"
"Where I come from, we have twelve!"
But Yuki pushes them apart. "Stop it!" She yells, "Stop it! Can you two not argue about something for once?"
"Yeah." SpongeTron agreed, but then whispered to Maxwell, "By the way, am I really a beeping robot in the future? And can I really turn into a strong battle bot?" He starts flexing his arms, "Look out, Java."
"Oh please," Crash scoffed, "I don't know why we're even havin' this argument when my story was the best."
"Uh huh." Twitchy agreed as he and his brother fist bump.
"You didn't even hear my story!" Tommy pointed out. "It's about-"
But Darry interrupted, "At least my story is based on facts. That's why it's the best one told."
Junior hugs Mr. Jelly in fright as Kida agreed, "That's right. I like it the best."
"Guys!" Tammy shouted to get their attention. "Max just poured his heart into telling us about his traumatic past." She pointed at a frowning Maxwell and added, "The least you can do is agree that his is the best."
"Ha!" Tommy laughed, "My story's the best! And you haven't even heard it yet!"
Suddenly everyone in the room starts arguing, except Junior who cringes and his friends fighting until he meekly says, "Guys? Um, guys?" He finally screams, "GUUUUYSS!"
This makes everyone fall silent for a moment until Twitchy suggests, "That'sit! Let's have Junior decide whose story is better. Whosestoryisbetter?"
This makes Junior uneasy until Crash mentions, "Ya know he's gonna pick mine. I am his big brother."
But Darry leans in his face and snaps, "Who says he's gonna pick you? He's gonna pick me!"
This causes everyone to start arguing again and Junior to once again yell, "STOP IT!" Everyone falls silent again and Junior continues, "I can't choose which one is the best. I like all your stories."
Everyone stared in surprise as Junior continues, "I can't choose a favorite. Each of your stories had something I like. Crash, your story was filled with action and a cowboy grandpa that I didn't even know we had."
Crash grins in satisfaction as his hand are akimbo. Junior continues, "Darry, I like knowing more about you in your story and it had a lot of suspensefulness."
Darry waves his hand in Yuki's face, taunting her for his victory. Junior then turns to the last storyteller, "Max, even though your story wasn't much like what I saw the one time I read your mind and it must've been hard for you to tell us what happened, I thought it was really cool and I still liked it."
Everyone's eyes widen as they glanced at Maxwell, shocked as well, though he should have known Junior wouldn't have fell for it. They glanced back at Junior as Tammy exclaimed, "You read Maxwell's mind and saw the future?!"
Junior froze a bit and smiled sheepishly, "Well..."
"What's it like?" Kida asked excitedly. "Do I become a pretty shaman?"
"Do I become the greatest superhero like my dad and they build a statue of me?" Darry asked.
"Do I get into Harvard?" Tammy wanted to know.
"Do I REALLY turn into a tall robot with muscles? And do I at least have the ability to talk?" SpongeTron eagerly asked.
"IsthefutureactuallyadystopiawherehumanityandcreaturesoflandandseafallandrobotsrisetoconquerEarth?" Twitchy asked at super fast speed.
"Do I get to marry Yuki?" Crash cried out, but covered his mouth when everyone turned their attention to him.
The awkward moment was interrupted when Tommy stated, "Who cares about all that? We still have one more story to hear: mine."
Junior clapped his hands and cheered, "Ooh, I can't wait to hear yours! It'll be the best!"
Everyone sat down and Tommy prepared to tell his story, "Okay, it all begins when-"
But he was interrupted when the door opened and Timmy came in. "Tammy, Tommy, Max," Timmy called, "Time to go."
Sandy popped her head in and called, "Crash, Twitchy! You too, boys."
"Darry, Yuki, let's go." Danny called from the hallway.
"What?!" Tommy shouted in dismay. "But I didn't get to tell my story!"
As he walked out, Darry smugly mentions, "Like it could've competed with mine."
"Or mine." Crash adds in the same way.
As he followed his friends out, Maxwell looks at Junior, who was kissing his mother goodbye and he reads his mind to see the same memory Junior witnessed in his mind: his dad strapped to a wall in a catatonic state. Maxwell sighs, depressed until Tammy grabs his hand with a warm smile and walks out with him, making him smile as well.
Later that night in Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob walks out of his sons' room. "Goodnight boys." He says before closing the door softly. With a serious frown, he then straightens his tie and glasses before using his Recaller to create a portal to walk through.
SpongeBob exits through another portal in a dimly lit lab and stops in the middle of the room where someone was waiting behind him. "So..." He asks somberly, "Are we doing this?"
Jimmy steps into the light and responds, "That's right. We are."
Tak appears and looks unsure. "Are you sure about this, Jimmy? I mean, we haven't gone on a mission together in years."
"Tak's right." Danny agreed, just as uncertain, "That's why I was surprised when I got your call."
"Fear not, gentlemen." Jimmy assured. "We may not be as young as we used to be, but I have complete faith in all of you."
Timmy then asked, "But are you sure Eustace has your schematic?"
Jimmy frowned as he answered, "Based on the Nicktoons' report and the circumstances of SpongeBob Jr., all evidence points to him. And I won't rest until I get it back and find out what he's up to, which is why I've called all of you to assist me."
SpongeBob steps forward and boldly declares, "I'm with you, Jimmy. I'm gonna make him pay for what he did to my boy."
Understanding SpongeBob's determination, Jimmy nods and smiles in agreement, "I think we're all agreed, the original Nicktoons are gonna reunite."
