Episode 16: Temporal Chaos

Plot: Maxwell wakes up one morning to find that the Turners no longer know him and the Nicktoons no longer exists. Thanks to Eustace's doing, the whole timeline has changed. With the help of Jimmy, can Maxwell, Tammy, and Tommy fix the Nicktoons' history back to the way it was?

Part 2

To their surprise, they exit the portal into Dimmsdale. But both Tammy and Tommy had a hard time recognizing it as their home due to how small and less advanced it is. "Is this really Dimmsdale?" Tammy asked.

"Why would Eustace come here?" Tommy asked as well.

Jimmy turned to them and responded, "He came here for a reason. He said so himself."

Maxwell scoffed and added, "Well, isn't it obvious? Eustace said he was going to the moment that inspired Neutron with the idea for the Universe Portal Machine. His first other worldly contact was Timmy Turner, which made him realize that there are other worlds out there besides his own."

Jimmy's eyes widen with shock upon hearing this. "That's exactly right. How did you know?"

Maxwell's stammered a bit, worried he would find out his identity. "Uhhh, I read your autobiography in the future."

Tammy and Tommy stared, believing Jimmy was too smart to fall for such an excuse. But Jimmy smiled and replied, "Wow, I have one of those? Well, I have often considered composing a detailed script of my rise to genius."

Tammy groaned as Tommy smacked his head, still in disbelief of how oblivious Jimmy was. Maxwell chuckled, "Yeah, I read all your autobiography. You're my idol after all."

"Huh, I've always been an idol to aspiring would-be scientists," Jimmy noted and turns to the twins, "So, do you remember what your dad did that caused him to meet with me in Retroville?"

Tommy held his chin and thought, "Well, he did once say something about being in a science fair when he was in fourth grade."

"Yeah," Tammy said with excitement. "That must've been when he wanted Jimmy's help."

Jimmy quickly recalled the memory from the first time he was in Dimmsdale. "I was brought to Timmy's school to participate in a school science fair."

Maxwell got a look of determination. "Our best bet is to search the school first. Eustace might be there to disrupt Mr. Turner from going to Retroville. But we'll stop him first."

Jimmy smiled in admiration as he looked at Maxwell. "That's the kind of enthusiasm I like to hear." Maxwell secretly gushed with joy at hearing his dad praising him some more.

Soon the group reached Dimmsdale Elementary School and found Timmy's classroom. Jimmy was about to open it as he looked around and noticed, "It looks like we beat Eustace here."

Tammy became worried and said, "What if he already has Dad. He could be holding him hostage and torturing him so he will never meet Jimmy."

Once the door opened, Maxwell saw inside and stated, "Or he could be over there." To their surprise, they saw Eustace standing in front of the Mr. Crocker's class as if giving an announcement.

"It is my pleasure to announce that my company, Strych Enterprises, will be giving one lucky student a cash prize of 1,000 dollars to help fund your project for the school science fair."

The students all murmured in excitement as the Nicktoons watch from the doorway. "What is he up to?" Jimmy wondered.

Tammy wondered as well, "How is Mr. Crocker allowing this?"

They then notice that at his desk, Mr. Crocker was counting a large stack of bills, most likely given to him by Eustace as a bribe to stay out of his way. "400, 500, 600…" Mr. Crocker counted.

Eustace takes out his phone and announces, "And the student completely chosen at random will be..." He turns on the phone to see a selfie of him sunbathing, but still pretends to be reading the winning announcement, "Timmy Turner!"

This catches the attention of the ten-year-old Timmy after he was falling asleep at his desk. "Me?" He asks in shock and amazement.

Eustace walks up to Timmy and gives him a huge wad of cash. "Congratulations, son." He says in a friendly voice.

"Wow, thanks." Timmy says with a smile. "I've never heard of Strych Enterprises, but I'll definitely win the science fair now."

Jimmy marched into the classroom and confronted Eustace. "What do you think you're doing?" He angrily asked.

"Just giving the youth of today a head start in life." Eustace answered as he ruffles Timmy's hair.

"Well, DON'T."

This made all the kids fall silent, including Timmy, who just gave a peculiar stare. "What?" Eustace asked in fake stun. "Are you saying you don't want these children to grow up successfully?"

The class all complained and booed at Neutron loudly, while the genius felt embarrassed as he tried to save face. "I-It is important that the kids have a bright future, but shouldn't that be earned? I mean, they're not gonna have everything handed to them in life."

"Very true." Eustace agreed. "But wouldn't it be grand to be part of a team that saves the world? You'd certainly make money then. Which of you would like to be on my team?" On cue, all the kids started waving their hands in the air and shouting in excitement. Timmy even did the same. "And who of you would rather be on Neutron's team?"

The kids started booing again in response while Timmy shouted, "Rich guy! Rich guy!"

Not wanting to have an outburst in front of a room full of children, Jimmy calmly asked Eustace, "Can I speak to you outside?"

Eustace contently answered, "Of course, Neutron." He turned to the class one more time, "Word of advice, children: you don't make money by acting smart all the time." The kids all laughed, but Jimmy just drags Eustace out into the hall.

Once the two adults were back with the kids, Tommy shouted, "What were you doing to our dad?"

"Nothing." Eustace answered. "Just giving him what he needs to get a passing grade."

"Don't play coy with me, Strych." Jimmy snapped. "I know you only did that just so Timmy wouldn't have a reason to go to my lab in Retroville."

But Eustace denied, "Of course not, Neutron. My company is always generously donating funds to schools and charities for the children." Then he smirked, "But for me, it's all about destroying your future." He laughed evilly and the future around them began to change.

Jimmy, Maxwell and the twins wind up in the future Dimmsdale by themselves. But to their surprise, the future looked just as they left it. "We're back home?" Tommy asked, confused.

"No," Jimmy answered tensely. "Eustace changed the timeline. Anything could have changed, so be on your-" he was interrupted when a strange figure wrapped in loin cloth, blue cape, and a woodie mask jumped up behind him and restrained him with a staff.

"Jimmy!" The three kids cried out until a yellow sponge with dirty square pants, a Chum Bucket helmet on his head, and goggles over his eyes; rolled on top of Maxwell and pinned him to the ground and the twins were picked up by Timmy, who was wearing an eye patch and black jumpsuit.

"Dad?!" Tammy and Tommy both exclaim in shock to see him and how he looked.

"You two are in big trouble." Timmy said in anger.

"Timmy?" Poof asked as he appeared.

Cosmo and Wanda appeared and took Poof into their arms as well. "Don't hang out with the wrong crowd, Poof." Cosmo warned.

"Nice job, gentlemen." Eustace casually said as he approached.

Seeing this, Maxwell got more and more distressed until his powers activate and the sponge is lifted off of him and Jimmy and the twins' captors were levitated as well. The three were thrown at Eustace's feet, revealing that Timmy was with SpongeBob and Tak. As Jimmy tried to get the air in his lungs, he asks, "What's... going on?"

"They were simply following orders." Eustace answered. "Orders given to them by their team leader."

"Is that him?" SpongeBob asked, pointing at Jimmy. "Is the one with the big head the one who's trying to destroy your life?"

"SpongeBob, what are you talking about?" Jimmy asked, surprised to see the sponge treating him like an enemy. "You met us before."

SpongeBob just scoffed, "Hmph, I don't associate with anyone who is against my pal, Eustace."

"'Pal'?" Tammy and Tommy both question, wondering why SpongeBob would say such a thing.

SpongeBob began to explain, "Years ago, I was an aspiring fry cook who had his dreams crushed until Eustace here came along and made me part of his team."

Then Tak took off his mask and explained, "I lost control of my magic and ruined my village, so I was banished and forced to live among the Woodies. But then I met Eustace and he said that he needed me on his team."

"I joined because we get paid for everything that we do for people." Timmy added. "After the last rich guy I met helped me, I decided to follow another rich guy and learn to make money like he does."

Eustace smiled slyly and concluded, "There you have it. They're not your Nicktoon team, Neutron, they're mine."

The three kids gasp until Tommy called, "But SpongeBob, what about your family?"

"Daddy, Max gave you your memories back!" Tammy called out, "This is Jimmy Neutron!"

"That's enough out of you two!" Timmy retorted, "It's bad enough you're hanging out with criminals, but if you keep making up stories, you're both grounded for a month."

Wanda added, "And Poof won't be allowed to grant your wishes for that duration."

Jimmy realized, "Eustace must've altered the past so much that it reset all our previous meetings with them."

"Wait, what about Danny Fenton?" Tammy wonder aloud and screamed at Eustace, "What have you done with him and his family?!"

Eustace answered, "I haven't done anything to them. Danny Fenton is already traveling through our solar system. It's a shame since he would've made an excellent addition to my team, even though he and his family aren't special anymore."

Jimmy glared and retorted, "You may lead the Nicktoons, Eustace. But you're still not part of the team."

"And what makes you say that, Neutron?" Eustace angrily asked. "I already have the team and you have nothing."

"It takes more than just giving orders. You have to fight alongside them, have each other's backs, value each and every one of your friends."

Despite this, Eustace seemed to be lost in thought. "Or... maybe it just takes special abilities."

"You'll never be a Nicktoon!" Tommy defiantly shouted.

Timmy was offended and was about to scold his son, "Listen Tom-"

But Eustace ignored the insult and held Timmy back. "Gentlemen, please watch these ruffians and don't let them escape. I'll be back...better than you can imagine."

"Yes, sir." The three alternate Nicktoons said until Tak uses his staff to create magical binds around Jimmy, Maxwell, and Tammy and Tommy and Poof.

Eustace creates another portal and disappears through it. Jimmy pleads with his former friends, "You have release us. Eustace is gonna destroy the universe."

SpongeBob just scoffed, "Eustace wouldn't do that. Quit with your lies!"

Wanda held up her wand and asked Timmy, "Should we silence them?"

"Please at least don't confiscate our weapons and special equipment," Maxwell pleaded, "Especially, this shiny magic medallion I'm wearing around my neck."

"We weren't going to," Tak mentioned with a sly smile. "But now that you mention it, that's a great idea." He walked towards Maxwell and was about to take his medallion until Maxwell pulled out the vial of potion Kida gave him and held it in front of Tak. Once he got whiff of it, Tak promptly passed out.

With the shaman unconscious, the binds disappear off everyone, and Maxwell stands up, shouting to his friends, "Plug your nose, everyone!" And he smashes the vial on the floor, releasing the scent of the potion into the air. Tammy and Tommy quickly ran away from their father before he smells the serum and passes out, followed by SpongeBob, who falls flat on his face.

Poof quickly flies away from his parents as they too smell the serum and fall to the ground asleep. "Nighty night." Cosmo muttered before passing out.

Once the group was out cold, Jimmy smiled at Maxwell proudly. "Wow, Maxwell, that was impressive."

The small genius smiled sheepishly as he gave a modest chuckle, "Heh, heh, yeah..."

Jimmy turned to Tammy and Tommy, and ordered, "Have Poof take us to Eustace's location."

Before following orders, the twins were standing over their fallen father, looking remorseful. "Sorry Dad." Tommy said to him.

"We still love you." Tammy mentions before kissing Timmy on the cheek.

Both twins turn and excitedly shout, "We wish we were with Eustace Strych!"

Poof waves his rattle, and the four are transported to a familiar location. They gasp in shock to see that they are in the Fenton basement and see Eustace standing directly in front of the deactivated ghost portal. "What are you doing?" Jimmy demanded to know.

Eustace turned to them with a smirk. "Claiming the thing that Danny Fenton missed out on."

Realizing what he was planning, both Tammy and Tommy look at each other in panic. "He's not gonna…"

"Strych, don't do it!" Maxwell cried out, "You don't know what that thing can do to you!"

Eustace replied, "I know that once I go in there and the blast of ectorays hit me, I will emerge as a half-ghost and be the most powerful being in the world."

"Maxwell is right, Eustace." Jimmy spoke in a calm serious tone, "You're making a big mistake."

"And why is that?" Eustace asked with a sly smile and his arms crossed. "Because I will be a better Nicktoon leader than you ever were?"

"No. It's because history says that Danny Fenton was the one who emerged from the portal alive and without serious consequence. If anyone else mimicked the accident, they could do serious harm or even fatal results to themselves."

"You think I care what history says? That's why I'm changing it! It won't just be better for me, it'll be miserable for you!"

Without another word, Eustace ran into the empty portal. Jimmy called out, "Eustace, no!" And tried to run after him. Suddenly a bright flash came from inside the portal that blew Jimmy backwards across the floor. Eustace's screams of agony could be heard from inside.

The kids watch in horror as the portal let up and Eustace finally emerged, hunched over and weakened. He looked relatively the same except for green mist emitting from his body. Jimmy was the only one who showed any concern for him. "Eustace...are you okay?"

Once Eustace recovered his energy, he looked at his hands that suddenly turned intangible. "Ha!" He cheered. "I did it! I'm part ghost and no one can stop me! I win and you..." But suddenly, Eustace's face started to horribly mutate and his skin turns a glowing green color. His body grows larger and more muscular, tearing some of his clothes to shreds. His eyes glow red and he growls loudly, completing his transformation into a hideous ghostly monster.

Tammy shrieked in horror while an equally frightened Tommy commented, "I think I liked it better when he was a small rich snob."

As Maxwell stared at the newly transformed Eustace, he couldn't help but feel reminded of the future he came from where Eustace was powerful despite not being a ghost. "Nobody panic." Jimmy instructed. "He's no different than any other ghost we've faced. But we can't let him escape the lab." The three nod in agreement and Poof makes Tammy's jump rope appear and turns into Tommy's magic rifle. "Nicktoons Unite!"

Tommy screamed as he fired blasts of magic at the ghost. However, the ghost is just merely stunned and tries to swing his arm at Tommy, only to be restrained by Tammy's jump rope. Jimmy looked around on the desks for ghost weapons, but there was a distinct lack of variety. Jimmy picked up a small ecto-blaster and fired it, only for it to spew ectoplasm onto the ground. An unimpressed Jimmy muttered, "Danny did say his father's stuff never used to work."

The ghost took notice of Jimmy and raised its large foot toward him. Maxwell quickly rushed over to him and activated a psychic shield to protect them. He then used all his brain power to push the shield forward into the ghost and knock him backwards. Tammy then whipped it with her jump rope, making it fall to the ground. Jimmy smiled at Maxwell until he noticed pieces of a familiar device on the table. "The Fenton Thermos?" He said, noticing the device looked incomplete. "Jack Fenton must be currently working on it."

"I know what you're thinking, Neutron- and not because I read your mind." Maxwell said as he grabbed the pieces of the thermos. "If I just place this piece here, synch up these wires here, the ionically charged beams should become powerful enough to withhold the Strych ghost and keep him contained."

Once he got the thermos looking built anew, Jimmy smiled proudly and stated, "Maxwell, there's something I need to tell you."

Maxwell got a stunned look and dropped the thermos in shock. "What? What is it?"

Jimmy immediately answered, "I want you to be a full time member of the Nicktoons."

Maxwell looked relieved that he didn't know his secret, but Jimmy picked up the thermos and continued, "You've demonstrated today that you have what it takes and are worthy of the name Nicktoon. If you're parents knew about this, I think they'd agree."

As Jimmy handed him the thermos, a tearful smile appeared on Maxwell's face, believing his dreams had finally come true: he was a Nicktoon and he had his father's approval. "Oh, Da-"

"Jimmy! Maxwell!" Tammy cried loudly. "Look out!"

Before they had time to react, the ghost swung a large fist at the two geniuses, hitting Maxwell and causing him to drop the Fenton Thermos. "Maxwell!" Jimmy yelled out, seeing him fly at the wall. Maxwell hit the wall with a loud thud and he groaned in pain, but he felt his chest and his eyes widen in horror. He looks ahead to see his medallion on the floor across from him.

"Max!" Tommy called to him. "Are you okay?"

When Maxwell tried to reach for his medallion back, a blue glow appeared all over his body. "Tammy? Tommy?" He muttered in fright before completely disappearing, leaving the medallion in his place.

Both twins stared in shock at Maxwell's sudden absence, with Tammy being close to tears. Jimmy was about to go over to the spot until he was suddenly grabbed by the ghost in a headlock and hoisted into the air. Once this got Tammy and Tommy's attention, Jimmy managed to yell out, "The thermos! Use the Fenton Thermos!"

They rush over to the discarded Fenton Thermos and Tommy picks it up, turning it on and firing it at the ghost. It screams as the beam hits it and it's sucked inside the thermos, dropping Jimmy on the ground. Once the ghost formerly known as Eustace was inside the thermos, Tommy closed it shut and smiled, "Wow, we did it."

Jimmy smiled and held his shoulder in gratitude. But Tammy held Maxwell's medallion and sadly asked, "But what about Max?"

Jimmy said nothing and reached into the pocket of Eustace's torn trench coat that was left on the floor. He pulled out the time remote and started fiddling with the buttons. "If I just reset the systems, I can reset all time periods from before Eustace intervened, and everything and everyone should be back to the way it was- even Eustace." Once Jimmy pushed a button, there was a bright flash of blue light as the world around them began to fade.

Suddenly, they appear in the lab of Nicktoon HQ, where everything seems normal if not quiet. Suddenly, the door opens and SpongeTron walks in. "Oh, there you guys are. I've been looking all over for you." He cheerfully greeted.

"SpongeTron!" Tammy and Tommy both shout in joy as they ran over and hugged the robot.

"You exist again!" Tommy added.

"If you're here, that must mean we fixed everything." Tammy said in joy.

SpongeTron looked confused as he replied, "I don't know what you're talking about. I just went out to look for the commander's portal machine. I found it on Eustace's front lawn, isn't that funny? Guess it was too much for his small brain to handle."

Tammy, Tommy, and Jimmy glanced at each other in silence, surprised to hear that Eustace just discarded Jimmy's invention after his failed attempt at changing the past. SpongeTron added, "It's a little banged up, but I'm sure it's nothing our real genius can't fix. Speaking of genius, where's Max? I'm sure he'll be pleased to hear I got the machine back."

Tammy and Tommy exchange sad looks as the former held the medallion with the CW words exposed. SpongeTron reacted in shock, realizing something happened. But Jimmy came over and took the medallion, holding it out by its tassel. "This isn't over, because we'll find him. No matter what it takes."
