Time Fixers: Nicktoons of the Future

Episode 17: Future Tensed

Plot: The time has come for the Nicktoons to travel through time to help Maxwell save the future and his father. However, the Future Eustace has a sinister plan in his enhanced brain and it's gonna take the effort of both Nicktoon groups, the adults, and an unlikely ally to protect the present and ensure a bright future.

Part 5

In another part of HQ, all Nicktoons, old and new, stand in rows of three as Cindy paces back and forth in front of them, and Eustace watches from the side. "Ladies and gentlemen," Cindy began, "We've all come together for what might the toughest battle of our lives."

"Toughest battle so far." Darry whispered, recalling all the previous toughest battles he and his friends have had.

Suddenly, Cindy marched up to him and scolded, "Fenton! You got something to say!"

An intimidated Darry quickly answered, "No, sir. I mean, ma'am!" Tammy elbowed Darry in the arm to silence him.

Cindy continued, "Now there are five worlds and there's a tower in each one. So I figured we can split up into teams to take one down."

Danny nodded in agreement. "Not a bad idea."

"If we're gonna draw names out of a hat, can we all use mine?" Crash asked, knocking on his helmet.

"That won't be necessary." Cindy explained. "I've already chosen the teams." She begins by announcing, "Danny will go with Junior to Amity Park." Danny looks at Junior in surprise as the latter grins in excitement at being partnered up with him.

Cindy continued, "SpongeBob will go to Bikini Bottom with Twitchy." Twitchy chuckled and bounced up and down while SpongeBob smiled at his son in amusement.

"Tak," Cindy announced, "You will go with Crash and Yuki to the Pupununu."

"Yes!" Crash cheered at being paired with Yuki. But when she noticed him, he quickly turned away, blushing.

"Kida will be going with Timmy and his fairies to Dimmsdale."

Kida crossed her arms and pouted, "Why do I always get picked last?"

"What are you talking about?" Tommy asked. "We haven't even been picked yet."

Cindy then concluded, "And that just leaves Darry, Tammy, and Tommy. You three will be taking down the tower here in Retroville."

Eustace then put his arm around Cindy, smiling, "I guess that just leaves you and me, Cynthia."

Cindy elbows him in the stomach to get Eustace to let go of her. As he groaned in pain, Timmy asks Cindy, "Wait, what are you gonna do?"

"I'm gonna infiltrate Strych Enterprises and locate the schematic." She then frowns in annoyance, "Unfortunately, Eustace is gonna come with me to help find it."

Timmy looked uncomfortable with the idea and added, "I don't know whether I should be worried about you or him."

But Tommy interrupted, "Wait! What are you guys gonna do when you find the schematic?"

Tammy also asked in worry, "Are you really gonna destroy it?"

Darry argued, "If you do that, Maxwell won't remember any of us. This will all be for nothing."

"Enough," Cindy snapped back. "We have no time to argue about this. It was already decided that it's the best course of action we can take to stopping this future." At this, the rest of the Nicktoons fall silent and made no more arguments. Cindy then announced, "Good. Nicktoons...unite to save our worlds and our future!"

Everyone salutes and goes with their partner to their assigned world to save, except for Darry's Nicktoon team. Darry argued again, "But Mrs. Neutron, how are we supposed to get up to the tower? The Future Eustace has the entrance sealed and guarded."

Cindy couldn't even come up with a solution for their problem, but Eustace spoke up, "If I may, I believe I have just the thing that will get you up there."

Soon, the Nicktoons were flying above Retroville in Eustace's private helicopter being piloted by his butler. As they sat in the back seats, Darry stared excitedly out the window with his face pressed against the glass. "Whoa..." Darry uttered with childish excitement. "I can't believe I'm in an actual helicopter. This is so gnarly."

"Big deal." Tommy said to Darry in disbelief. "You can already fly, remember?"

Tammy looks out her side of the window and notices their approaching destination. "I see the cellular tower."

Blix then announces to the three, "We are arriving at your destination. According to Master Strych, you are to eject yourselves once we are over head."

They look surprised when they heard the orders. "You mean you want us to jump?" Tammy repeated.

Tommy looked shocked by this revelation. "Are you nuts? We can't jump!"

But Darry calmly reminded them, "Big deal. I can fly, remember?" He smiled slyly, repeating Tommy's words.

When they were over the tower, Poof opened the door with his magic and Darry grabbed the twins in his arms before jumping out of the helicopter. The two scream loudly while Darry calmly changes into ghost form.

The two stop screaming as Darry Phantom slowly lowers them both to the top of the cellular tower building. "Don't ever do that again." Tommy snapped at Darry.

Tammy looked around and noticed, "The Future Eustace is not here. Let's hurry and shut this thing down before it starts up." She was about to take a step forward, but she was suddenly hit with a blast of lightning.

Darry, Tommy, and Poof gasp until they turn to see Maxwell floating above them with a cold expression on his face. "Thought I wouldn't anticipate your arrival, Nicktoons?" He asked in an emotionless tone.

Darry sneered in fury, "Max..."

Tammy stood up and pleaded, "Please don't do this, Max! You don't know what this thing will do!"

"Of course I do." Maxwell answered with a smirk, pointing to the antenna. "Once this activates, so will the towers in the other four worlds. It will send a signal to everyone's brain and bring it to Eustace. Once everyone has no more knowledge in their cerebrum, Eustace will be the only known genius in every world...way smarter than Jimmy Neutron."

"Are you nuts?" Tommy asked in anger. "You can't do that!"

Landing on the ground, Maxwell smugly answers, "Yes, I can! And my father, Eustace, wants me to retain a fraction of the knowledge we will take from everyone."

The Nicktoons stare in shock by this. "But that could kill you!" Tammy yelled.

"I'm not afraid. I'll be more useful to him than I ever was to any of you."

"Enough's enough, Maxwell." Darry sternly replied. "You're wrong about Eustace and you're wrong about Neutron. He loves you and he's worried sick about you. Eustace is only using you to get what he wants; just like that neural intelligence device is using him."

Maxwell's eyes suddenly widen in surprise until he shakes his head in disbelief. "N-N-No! That's not true!"

"It is true, Max." Tammy spoke to him as well. "We care about you as well, and we just want you back." She held out her hand to him. "Just look inside your heart, I'm sure you'll find the answer. Please Max..."

Maxwell paused and seems to be considering their words, but he soon heard the voice of Future Eustace in his head, 'Start the machine now, Maxwell. If those Nicktoons try to fill your head with nonsense, dismiss them.'

Maxwell then put on a serious face and told the Nicktoons, "Forget it! I'm not falling for any of your lies! You'll all be brain dead zombies within minutes once I activate the tower."

Suddenly, Nano scurries out of Tammy's pocket and goes over to Maxwell. The psychic boy looks at him in realization. "Nano?" He whispered until shaking his head, scowling, and lifting his foot. "Get away from me, you insect!" He suddenly stomped his foot on to Nano, causing the three Nicktoons to gasp once he lifted his foot and the nanobot twitched its body as it started coming apart.

"That's it!" Darry shouted angrily. "If you won't listen to reason, we'll make you listen!"

"Ooh, I have a strong sensation in my body that's raising my adrenaline." Maxwell mocked as he used his powers to turn on the machine and warm up the antenna.

"Nicktoons Go!" Darry shouted to his comrades, "Tommy, help me stop Max. Tammy, try to shut down that antenna." Tommy nodded in agreement and Poof changes into his magic rifle before joining Darry in battle. Tammy quickly runs over to the controls, staring at all the complex buttons and knobs that seem to overwhelm her. Darry jumps towards Maxwell as the younger boy dodges a punch and pushes Darry away with a psychic blast. Three shots of magic hit Maxwell in the side and knock him across the roof.

From down the street, the force field protecting Strych Enterprises goes down once Maxwell loses his concentration. "They did it." Cindy says as she and Eustace wait at the front door. "Let's get moving." They quickly run inside the building and begin their search for the schematic. "Now where are you keeping the schematic?" Cindy asks Eustace.

He answers, "I have been ordering my scientists to construct the device in their labs, so we'll search there."

"You better be right." Cindy threatened before they head to the elevator.

Back in HQ, Jimmy and SpongeTron were still slouching on the couch in the exact same position while Max was sitting on his father's lap, playing with his teddy bear. Suddenly, Jimmy hands the baby over to SpongeTron and stands, "I'm gonna get Max's bottle." Jimmy said boredly. "Watch him for a minute."

"You got it." SpongeTron answered in the same tone as he held Max on his lap. But as soon as Jimmy left the room, SpongeTron was suddenly slapped across the face with the teddy bear. "Hey!" He cried out only to see the baby glaring at him. "What was that for?"

"Goo goo blah blah!" Max scolded at him.

"Why am I here when I should be with my friends rescuing Maxwell?" SpongeTron translated, "They don't need me. They're fine rescuing Ma...well...the older you... Besides, I need to watch younger you."

"Goo gah gah! Goo goo Dada!" Max cried out.

"I know you have Neutron to care for you, but in his condition, I think I'm best fitted for the job," SpongeTron retorted. Max rolled his eyes, knowing the robot has a point after Jimmy kept giving him un-needed attention lately.

SpongeTron relaxes again and mentions, "Besides, you have no idea what kind of future we're in for." However, he was suddenly spat in the face by a raspberry from Max, who stared angrily at him for his ulterior motives.

"Gah gah bah bah!" Maxwell scolded again, wagging his finger.

"You did not see where that future leads." SpongeTron argued, "No matter how good or bad it is, I lose my friends to change."

Max just crossed his arms in disappointment while Jimmy came back with a bottle. "SpongeTron?" He asked suspiciously. "Were you talking to someone?"

"Uhh, no, I was just... singing Max a lullaby." He then rocks Max back and forth while the baby keeps his arms crossed and pouts. "Rock-a-bye baby on the tree top." SpongeTron sang off key. But he was cut off when a bright blue glow appeared in the middle of the room. Jimmy immediately stood in front of SpongeTron and Max, reaching for his Tornado Blaster from his belt. But when the glow dispersed, there was a square yellow robot crouched on the ground with his head bent forward.

Max climbed off the couch and walked over to the robot, who looks up at Max. Suddenly, the robot shrieks in joy and grabs Max in a hug. "Max!" He shouts in joy, turning around to reveal himself as Future SpongeTron. "Oh, look at you, Max! You're a baby again!"

The baby giggles with joy in the robot's arms. Jimmy just stares in confusion. "Can someone explain what's going on?"

"Future Me?" SpongeTron asked in surprise to see him in the present. "But how?"

Holding Max in one arm, Future SpongeTron pulls out a familiar looking medallion around his neck with the letters "CW" on it. He answers, "Well, I had a little help from the Ghost of Time. I realized that I just couldn't stay still knowing my Max was in trouble, so I came here as fast as I could."

"Wait, wait, wait," SpongeTron interrupted. "What about Jimmy Neutron? If you're here, who will protect him and the future?"

"Don't worry. My friends are taking care of that."

"Your friends on the police force?"

"No. My friends: Darry, Tammy, and Tommy."

SpongeTron reacted with shock, upon realizing he was talking about the future versions of his Nicktoon allies. "What?! But you...I and...them... I, uh...you said..." He pushes a button on the side of his head that seemingly resets him. "How could they help protect the future? I thought we all went our separate ways."

Future SpongeTron warmly smiles as he answers, "We did. Our time as Nicktoons may have ended, but I know I can still count on them to help when things get tough, because we're always gonna be best friends."

SpongeTron fell silent as he recalled his conversation with his friends the last time he was worried about change tearing them apart, and how they assured him that no matter how different they become, they'd still be friends.

"I know it's overwhelming, SpongeTron." Jimmy spoke. "My team all felt the same way... except me, of course. But you can probably tell that it didn't mean we would drift apart as friends. If it did, would we all be risking our lives to save the future?"

SpongeTron was stunned from hearing this. "SponTwon," Max babbled as he ripped the cloth off of Future SpongeTron's face, exposing his deformed eye, much to his embarrassment.

With a smile growing on his face, SpongeTron stated, "You're right." He then grows with determination, "I should be out there with my friends, saving my other friend."

Future SpongeTron put his eye patch back on and held his past self's shoulder. "And I'll come with you. Two of us are better than one."

"If you both are going, I'm going as well." Jimmy stated, stepping forward.

"What?!" Both SpongeTrons ask in shock and concern. The present day SpongeTron asks, "But Commander, if you go out there, you could get your mind zapped empty or worse!"

"You're forgetting just as I have lately," Jimmy proudly explained, "I'm Jimmy Neutron: town genius and leader of the Nicktoons. I shouldn't be hiding here. I should be out there, leading my team and stopping the threat, and more importantly..." He picks up the baby and holds him close, "...saving my son."

Future SpongeTron tears up with joy in his visible eye. Max also claps in agreement, happy to see his father and robot brother back in action. SpongeTron then responds with a salute, "I'll follow you wherever you go, Commander."

Meanwhile, in Amity Park, Danny Phantom arrived with Junior at City Hall where the antenna tower was stationed. Danny stared at it, wondering how they were gonna bring it down. "Well, here we are." Danny said awkwardly. "Now we just need to figure out what we can use to destroy it."

Junior jumped up and down, suggesting, "Ooh, ooh, maybe we can use a wrecking ball!"

Danny stared at him, thinking the idea was good, but getting construction equipment on top of City Hall would be difficult. He then stared at Junior again and lends him a hand. "I think I have a better idea."

In Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob and Twitchy arrive at the Krusty Krab where the other tower was. SpongeBob looked at his son in determination and raised his fist. "You ready, Twitch?"

With a wild grin, Twitchy nodded rapidly and responded, "Uhhuhuhhuhuhhuh!" At fast speed, he runs up the Krusty Krab and onto the roof and moves all around the tower, trying to pull it apart, but had no luck without any tools or strength. From below, SpongeBob saw the lack of progress being made and wondered how they will do it.

In Dimmsdale, Timmy, the fairies, and Kida were at the school, having poofed to the roof to take down the tower. Kida tried hitting it with her staff, but it was ineffective. Cosmo turned into a chainsaw and Timmy used it to try and cut the tower down, but it did not cut through. Cosmo changes back and smiles to show his broken teeth.

In the Pupununu, Tak was with Crash and Yuki at the temple. Crash was trying to pull the tower down, but was obviously not strong enough. "Can you do something?" Yuki asked Tak, hoping his magic would work.

Tak answered, "I'll need a big spell to take out something that big."

Crash just brushed it off, stating, "We don't need magic. We need muscle!" He continued to ram his body into the bottom of the tower. Yuki sighs and wondered, "If my brother and his team can take down the tower in Retroville, we can end this quicker."

In Retroville, Darry and Tommy were still fighting Maxwell while Tammy tried to turn off the tower. Darry flew towards Maxwell to tackle him, but the latter just psychically floats into the air to avoid him. Tommy then threw one of his chain hammers at him. But Maxwell gains control of the hammer and throws it back, tying it around Tommy and tossing him near his sister.

Poof changes back to normal with his hair tied around Tommy as the latter glares at Tammy and snaps, "Can't you turn that off faster?"

"I'm trying." Tammy answered, "But these controls are way too advanced for me. Even I'm not that smart."

"So the only person here smart enough to override it is the one trying to kill us?" Tommy asked when lightning struck the ground knocking him off his feet.

"Tommy!" Tammy screamed as Maxwell floats towards her.

"Stay away from there!" Maxwell growled as lightning crackles between his fingers. Tammy gasped and prepared for the attack.

However, Maxwell froze in place as his arms seem to force themselves down. Maxwell glared Darry, who just took control of his shadow. "Do it, Tammy!" Darry cried, "Take that neural device off his head and stop him!"

Tammy nodded and was about to take a step towards the restrained Maxwell, but he mentions, "You really think you can remove it? This device is ingrained into my nervous system. It's transmitting data into my cerebrum. You cannot simply pull it off."

"But Junior's came off." Tommy pointed out. "After you..." He trails off after remembering exactly how. "... Mind blasted him."

Maxwell hummed with a satisfied smirk. "Theologically you should've appreciated me more." He focused hard until he unleashed a psychic wave that blew Darry away from him and off the roof. Tammy and Tommy worry for his safety until Darry's descent was stopped by SpongeTron.

"SpongeTron?" Darry asked, surprised to see SpongeTron, despite him being against the mission.

But SpongeTron quipped with a friendly smile, "That's right. I'm back, but not just me…"

The twins were happy to see their friend as well, but were just as surprised to see Future SpongeTron next to him, concluding, "…But me! One times two!" What surprised the three Nicktoons even more was to see Jimmy drive Goddard's fly cycle on to the roof with Max sitting in back strapped in a car seat. Jimmy steps off and smiles, patting Goddard on the head to fly off and take Max somewhere safe.

Tammy and Tommy hug SpongeTron as Tammy cries, "We're so glad you're here."

"But why?" Darry asked. "I thought you were afraid of the future."

"What?" SpongeTron cheerfully responded, "No way." He puts his arms around everyone, warmly stating, "Because no matter what future comes, we'll always be friends."

They share a tender group hug while Future SpongeTron tears up at the sight, until he sees the broken Nano on the ground and he bends down in concern. He picks the smaller robot up and places him in his chest compartment for safe keeping.

Jimmy walks past everyone and faces his future son. "Maxwell..." Jimmy spoke gently. "Do you... remember who I am?"

Maxwell's eyes widen upon seeing his real father, seeming to remember who he was. But Maxwell coldly glares and responds, "Of course I do. You're Jimmy Neutron: the self-proclaimed genius, who was dismissive of me and never truly cared about me because he was too wrapped up in his own work."

Jimmy was shocked by his accusation, but Tammy stepped in front of him and shouted to Maxwell, "No, that's not true! Jimmy's your father! He's the one you've been trying so hard to save!"

Maxwell grew angrier and yelled, "All lies!" He fired a psychic blast, but Darry had his shadow create a wall in front of everyone to protect them.

Jimmy tried calling out to him again, "Maxwell, listen! I don't know what that mad genius has done to you, but I want you to know that whether it be here or in the future, you mean more to me than anything in this whole world!"

"It's true!" Future SpongeTron pleaded as well. "I've seen you two together! You idolize him!"

"I thought he idolized me..." A dejected Darry mutters, recalling his illusion of Maxwell.

Future SpongeTron continued, "Please Max, I wouldn't have come all this way from the future if I didn't care about you."

Tammy added, "None of us would be here if we didn't care about you."

Maxwell hesitates and looks conflicted as he listens. "That's... that's illogical. I remember always being in solitude, always being ridiculed, but... you're here to help me out of concern for my wellbeing?"

Darry responds in a friendly voice, "If you mean are we doing this because we're your friends, then yes."

Maxwell suddenly recalls spending time with his father when he was in the future, and the time he became a Nicktoon and hugged his friends. Suddenly, laughter was heard and Future Eustace teleports behind him and mocks, "Oh please, don't tell me you believe all those fabrications, do you, Maxwell?"

They all gasp to see the mad telepathic genius walking behind Maxwell and manipulating him again. Tommy calls out to him, "Max, don't listen to him! He's been lying to you this whole time!"

But Future Eustace tampers with his mind again and whispers, "They never cared for you, Maxwell. They always left you alone, and you will always be alone."

"They always left me alone, and I will always be alone." Maxwell repeated in a trance-like state, his eyes tearing up from the false memory of his friends turning their backs on him.

Seeing his enemy toy with his son's emotions, Jimmy seethes with anger and marches towards them, taking his blaster out of his belt. "No more games, Strych! We're ending this one way or another."

"Oh, don't worry." Future Eustace sadistically replied as he waves his hand down and Jimmy's body slams painfully on to the ground.

"Neutron!" Everyone cried out as they rush over to Jimmy in concern.

Maxwell, however, suddenly has a memory of the last time he saw his father awake right before being rendered catatonic. "Dad?" Maxwell uttered in confusion until Future Eustace grabbed his shoulder.

"It's time, Maxwell." He explained to him. "The machine is fully conducted and we can steal the intelligence of every person in all five worlds." He pulls out a pair of Bluetooth earbuds from his pocket. "I've rendered these so that when one of us attaches them to our temples, all the telepathic energy that's extracted will flow to that person." He hands the devices to Maxwell, "I want you to test them. I'll set the machine to low radius so you can extract the intelligence from your own enemies right in front of you."

Maxwell looks at the earbuds in his hands and looks at the Nicktoons in front of him. He then puts the devices on each side of his temples and states, "Set the machine." Future Eustace smirked in triumph as he waves his hand out and telekinetically adjusts the settings on the machine until a small wave went out and the Nicktoons, minus the robots, all double over while gripping their heads.

"Commander!" Future SpongeTron cried as he ran over to Jimmy, who was leaning on the ground, feeling his knowledge leaving his brain. "No, not again." He mutters in horror.

Darry is kneeling on the ground, feeling the same torture just as SpongeTron approaches him. He is only able to let out, "Somebody...do... something."

SpongeTron turns to Maxwell and sees him levitating, looking strained as he feels the others' knowledge enter his mind. "I...I... I feel more and more intelligence entering my brain! It's... overwhelming!"

"Max, stop this!" SpongeTron yelled as he suddenly grasps onto Maxwell's legs, pulling him down while pleading, "This isn't what you want! This is what the Future Eustace wants! Look into your heart and find the true memories of all the times you shared with your friends!"

As he continued to suck away information from his friends' minds, he suddenly sees their memories and sees the moment they were reunited in the future. "Wait!" Maxwell shouts as he pulls off the devices from his head, stopping the machine. "Why do I see those happy memories of me in their minds?"

"Maxwell, what are you doing?" Future Eustace demanded to know, but Maxwell paid no heed. Maxwell sat on his knees, staring at his semi-conscious friends and he looked into their memories: Eating waffles at the Turner house, fighting the Syndicate with the Nicktoons, watching Tammy's Cream Puff dance recital, SpongeTron showing him some of Jimmy's old inventions, and teasing Darry Fenton.

Maxwell felt a full front of emotions as he starts to recall these memories himself. "Tammy...Tommy... SpongeTron... Scottie...you really are my friends." Just as everyone was recovering their energy, Maxwell quickly gets up and runs over to Future SpongeTron, wrapping his arms tightly around him.

"Max?" Future SpongeTron asks with a relieved smile as he holds him. "You're okay."

"I'm sorry!" He cried out. "I don't know what came over me! I never should've doubted you! You really do care about me!"

Rather than be mad or disappointed in him, Tammy just hugged him and assured, "Oh, Max, of course we do."

SpongeTron hugs him as well. "We're just glad to have you back safe and sound."

"I prefer the annoying destructive you than the scary destructive you any day." Darry said, smiling.

Tommy lightly elbows Darry and joyfully adds, "We all do."

When Tammy and SpongeTron finally let Maxwell go, he notices the past version of his father, who smiles at him, happy to have him back to normal. Silently, Maxwell gives a small smile in return.

"How disappointing." Future Eustace says, glaring at the group. "I may not have Neutron's boy anymore, but my victory is still assured."

"Like heck it is." Darry retorted, "We're still one step ahead of you, Brainiac."

"Are you now?" Future Eustace asked in fake surprise. "Did you really expect me to not notice that 95 percent of you Nicktoons are missing? I have one tower stationed in each of the four other worlds, and there are nine other members of your group missing. So you have three groups of two in three worlds, and one group of three in one world."

Everyone looked shocked by what he accurately deduced, but Tommy accused him, "You read our minds!"

"I didn't need to." Future Eustace said smugly.

"It's worse than I thought." Jimmy realized, "His intelligence is increasing at such an alarming rate, he can predict our every move, every outcome. He's calculated everything."

Tammy muttered through her teeth, "At least he doesn't know about our other group..."

Unfortunately, Future Eustace heard her. He raises his right hand into the air and states, "Oh, don't I?"

In Strych Enterprises, both Eustace and Cindy were in one of the labs, searching for the schematic. The two had already made a mess of the room, trying to find it. Cindy watched as Eustace rifled through a drawer. "Okay, you really need a filing system." Cindy complained.

"I pay other people to do that for me." Eustace retorted, only to smile when he pulls out a piece of paper that he unfolds. "Ah ha! I found it."

However, he and Cindy are suddenly teleported to the top of the cellular tower and the schematic flies out of Eustace's hand and into the hand of his future self's. With a laugh as he puts the schematic in his coat, he sadistically says, "Now I have everything I need to make sure my future is secure."

Cindy runs over to Jimmy, and holds him for security, Eustace yells to his future self, "You're mad! This isn't the kind of future I want! This will ruin my business and my wealth!"

"That is no longer a concern of mine! My genius far succeeds anyone, especially once I take it from everyone in the universe, starting now!" He puts on the Bluetooth devices and uses his power to flip the switch, turning on the machine and releasing a large sonic wave from the antenna that spreads throughout Retroville.

Like last time, the Nicktoons, including Cindy and Eustace, scream and clutch their heads as they feel knowledge drain from their brains. Even all the people throughout Retroville succumb to the machine's effects.

In Amity Park, Danny Phantom and Junior try to lift the tower off City Hall. "Just a bit more." Danny instructed. However, it suddenly turns on and it released the exact same wave throughout the city. Danny and Junior fall over as they feel their minds being probed, while in the city, the same happens to the rest of the citizens, including Tucker, Sam, Jazz, and Valerie.

In Bikini Bottom, the tower was activated there as well, stealing the intellect of every sea creature there. Twitchy squirmed on the ground clutching his head while SpongeBob lay across from him, trying to reach out to his son. "Twitchy..." He uttered as his mind is probed.

On Conch Street, Squidward is outside his house, feeling the effects, and under his rock, Patrick is simply watching TV, drooling. But inside the pineapple dome, Buster is clutching his head as he lied on the ground. Sally, Dolly, and Allie hold each other as they groan while Sandy leans on the table, clutching her forehead as she groans, "A worldwide hyper sonic intelligence drainer...dang it, Neutron."

Back in Retroville, Future SpongeTron held onto Maxwell as his extra intelligence went into Future Eustace, who levitates in the air with wide bloodshot eyes and a crazed grin. "It's working! All the knowledge of every world is filling my mind!"

SpongeTron turned to him and frowned with fury, changing his hands into large spiked fists and jetting towards Future Eustace. "You will let my friends go!" With a loud cry, SpongeTron charges through the air with his fist held out. But before he could get close to Future Eustace, a psychic force field appeared in front of him and pushed SpongeTron back to the hard ground.

"My past self!" Future SpongeTron cried out in worry. Maxwell opens his eyes and sees the knocked out SpongeTron. With struggle, Maxwell crawls across the ground towards Future Eustace.

"You...took my home!" Maxwell struggled to say while his brain was drained. "You...took my dad! Now... you're taking...my friends!"

Future Eustace spoke in a crazed voice, "I'll be taking more than that! With this much knowledge, I know everything! With your extra intelligence, I will know every secret in the universe!"

Maxwell slowly stood up and declared, "This...this is my fault. I took my dad's neural intelligence chip, inadvertently led him into your clutches, and took the schematic which fell into your hands." He frowned with determination and declared, "But... I still possess my chip and I am knowledgeable with activating its capabilities... because I'm a Neutron!"

He concentrates with all the brain power he has and hits Future Eustace with a mind blast. However, Future Eustace retaliated with his own powerful mind blast that engulfs the two.

Like last time Maxwell battled a psychic, he and Future Eustace were in the mindscape, pushing each other with their psychic thoughts. Maxwell then heard Future Eustace's thoughts, 'You're a fool, Maxwell. I'm gaining more and more intelligence from the outside world. In a matter of minutes, I will overpower you and you will be nothing but a hollow shell.'

Despite this, Maxwell did not give up and continued focusing all his psychic energy into pushing his enemy back.

In the real world, a concerned Future SpongeTron approached Maxwell, and saw him and Future Eustace only staring at each other. The robot waved a hand in front of Maxwell's face, but he did not react. "What's happening?" He asked with concern.

SpongeTron reactivated and noticed the two psychic geniuses staring at each other and the rest of his friends starting to go catatonic. He quickly got up and grabbed his future self. "Come on." He urged. "We gotta stop that tower. It's the only way to save everyone."

In the Pupununu, the tower was activated as well; causing Tak, Yuki, and Crash to lie on the floor, weakened as their minds are probed. Yuki held her head and curled up as she softly cried, "Mom...Dad..."

Hearing her got Crash's attention, and he looked up from the ground, seeing a large cliff right behind the tower. He mustered all his strength to stand up and weakly stated, "I know what to do." Tak and Yuki looked up at him as he continued, "Yuki...if I don't make it back, I just want ya to know... I love you."

Tak and Yuki were losing consciousness until Crash slowly rushed to the ledge of the temple and jumped toward the forest, hitting a wobbly branch on a tree that pulled back and slingshots him up towards the wall behind the tower with Crash straightened like a bullet, hitting the wall head first, causing it to crumble.

Rocks and boulders slide down and hit the antenna tower, knocking it down, preventing it from sending its signal anymore. Tak then opens his eyes, realizing he can now think and move again. He turns to see Yuki lying on the ground near him. "Yuki!" He calls out, reaching for her. "Are you alright?"

Yuki sits up, regaining consciousness. "I'm fine, but..." Her eyes widen, remembering what Crash did. "Crash!" The two rush over to the rock pile, and Tak holds out his staff, making most of the rocks glow, and swinging his staff out, moving most of the rocks out of the way until they can see Crash lying face first in the pile. "Crash!" Yuki cried, quickly turning him over to see he was unconscious. "Crash, please wake up!"

Tak took out a satchel of water and poured it on Crash's face, waking him up. Once his vision clears through his cracked visor, he says, "I'm alive? We're all alive!"

Yuki was so happy Crash was okay that she hugged him tightly, surprising Crash and making him blush. But the sponge wraps his arms around Yuki, hugging her as well. Tak smiled warmly as he watched, pleased that they saved the Pupununu.

In Dimmsdale, Timmy, Wanda, and Kida were lying on the roof as the tower probed their minds. Cosmo was still floating next to the tower as he tried to knock it down with his wand, to no effect. "Don't worry!" He assured. "I think I'm denting it!"

"Timmy!" Wanda cried out as she started slipping from consciousness. "What...do we...do?"

Timmy had already gone catatonic, but Kida looked up and the tower and took out her staff. "Cosmo!" She called out. "Put me up there!"

"Might not work as well as a wand, but okay." Cosmo flies over to Kida, picks her up, and puts her in front of the tower.

Kida tosses her staff aside and wraps her arms around the tower. Without her staff, her magic builds up around her body and spreads around the tower, causing it to break down and fall to pieces. Once the mind probing stopped, Timmy regained consciousness and looks up to see the tower collapsed through the roof of the school and the young shaman nowhere to be seen. "Kida!" Timmy said in worry as he rushed over.

Timmy and the fairies could not see her in the debris. But suddenly, they see a blast of glowing magic push away some parts of the tower and they see Kida curled up in a small hole that was imbedded in the school roof. She still had a magical aura of unstable magic, but otherwise looked uninjured.

Wanda used her magic to poof Kida's staff back into her possession to control her magic. Timmy helped her up and asked, "Kida, are you alright?"

But Kida cheerfully responded, "That was fun." She then hugged Timmy while asking, "Can we do it again?"

Smiling, Timmy pats her on the head and responds, "Let's not tell your father about this."

In Amity Park, Danny Phantom picked up a catatonic Junior and struggled to get on his feet while facing the tower on City Hall. "This is..." Danny weakly said, "Gonna take...a lot out of me." He took a deep breath and unleashed a Ghostly Wail. Danny managed to keep it up long enough for the ghostly wave to break apart the tower and cause it to come tumbling down off of City Hall. An exhausted Danny changed back into human form and fell forward on top of Junior.

The little sponge managed to wake up and crawl out from underneath Danny. Junior tried to shake him awake. "Mr. Fenton?" He called, "I think we did it."

Sam and Tucker arrived, and helped Danny sit up just as he was waking up. Danny adjusts his glasses and weakly smiles as he answers Junior's questions, "Yeah, I think we did."

In Bikini Bottom, the tower was still activated, but SpongeBob and Twitchy were catatonic and unable to stop it. Suddenly, Patrick came looking unaffected by the tower's control. "Hey SpongeBob," he greeted blissfully. "I see you got a TV antenna for the Krusty Krab."

Despite the fact that SpongeBob did not respond, Patrick continued his conversation, "It does look a little crooked." He walks away and comes back, carrying a large rock. "This'll fix it!" He tossed the rock up with his immense strength and it ended up just hitting the tower and fell through the roof of the Krusty Krab, creating a large hole and bringing the tower down, destroying the whole restaurant in the process.

Afterwards, SpongeBob began to wake up and saw what had happened. He reacted in shock as he said, "Patrick...you SAVED US!" He joyfully helped his son to his feet and excitedly explained, "Twitchy, we're okay. Your Uncle Patrick saved the day!"

In a rush of joy, Twitchy speeds over to the starfish, hugging him while rapidly saying, "Thankyouthankyouthankyou!"

Patrick stood there proudly while smiling, "Just doing my job." He said modestly, "Can we have Krabby patties now?" Patrick asked despite the Krusty Krab now being in shambles.

In the mindscape between the two psychics, Future Eustace flinches for a bit, touching the right side of his head, perplexed. 'That's strange. I feel a decrease in intelligence passing through me.'

'It looks like my friends on the outside are defeating you.' Maxwell transmits his thoughts.

Future Eustace scowls. 'No matter. I still have enough capability to defeat you.'

In the real world, Maxwell's forehead was sweating as his face strained from having to put all his concentration into beating Future Eustace. Darry, Tammy, Tommy, Poof, Jimmy, Cindy, and Eustace were still in a catatonic state, along with every other citizen in Retroville. SpongeTron turned to his future self and explained, "I know if we destroy this machine, we stop the tower and save our friends."

Future SpongeTron nodded in understanding. "I trust you...or should that be 'trust me'?" SpongeTron turns his arm into a large spiked gauntlet, and his future self does the same. Together, they smash their fists into the machine, causing it to explode and the tower stops sending the signal out.

Both SpongeTrons were blown across the floor, covered in soot while Future SpongeTron's eye patch was torn to shreds. But both cheerfully high five when they see they got the tower to stop. They hear groaning and turn to see Darry waking up. "What happened?" Darry asked, tiredly.

"How long have we been out?" Tommy wondered.

"Is everybody okay?" Jimmy asked, helping Cindy to her feet.

Eustace sarcastically answered, "Besides having my mind sucked out? Fairly decent."

"Max!" Poof pointed out and they all see Maxwell and Future Eustace facing each other.

Cindy went over to her son in concern. "Max? What's going on?" She was about to touch him, but Jimmy stopped her.

"It's no use, Cindy." Jimmy explained, "Maxwell is currently locked in a psychokinetic showdown within the very confines of the mindscape between only him and Eustace."

But Cindy snapped at him for his explanation, "In English, sweetie!"

Luckily, Tammy took over, "I get what's going on. Max is in a psychic battle with Eustace just like he did with Junior."

"But how do we know he's gonna win?" Future SpongeTron asked in concern.

"Don't worry." Tommy assured. "He's done this before. He can handle it."

In the mindscape, Future Eustace thought out loud to Maxwell, 'I may have lost all the towers, but my mind is still superior!'

Maxwell was starting to struggle more and more to unleash his psychic energy as he thought, 'No... I can do this... I can do this...'

'Ha!' Future Eustace laughed in his mind, 'You think your mental encouragement can assist you? You may be a Neutron, but you're a disappointment. You can try and try, but without an intellect like mine, you are nothing.' He unleashes more psychic energy as Maxwell uses his own to hold it back, but the struggle causes him to fall on one knee.

In the real world, all the psychic energy building up around the two started to spiral around them. This caused danger to the others who were about to be blown off the roof. Jimmy held onto Cindy as he used his other hand to grip the bottom of the cellular tower. Eustace held onto Cindy from behind, causing Jimmy to glare at him in displeasure.

Future SpongeTron is blown off the roof, but he extends his hands to grab the ledge and hang on. Tammy and Tommy hold onto each other while SpongeTron has his arms around them both. Tammy looks up to see Maxwell kneeling down, with his face grunting like he is about to fall over. Tammy yells, "Max is in trouble! We have to help him!"

"But how?" Tommy yelled.

Darry is lying on the ground until he looks up at Maxwell. He then crawls over to SpongeTron and gets on his back. "Get us over there, SpongeTron!" He urged.

Without question, SpongeTron used his automated arms to crawl himself towards the psychic battle with his friends hanging onto him so they wouldn't get blown away. Even when hanging on tightly, the closer they got, the stronger the psychic push was. When they made it a few feet away from Maxwell, Darry started reaching his hand over to him until he could touch Maxwell's right shoulder. With the strong force against him, Darry yelled out, "Come on, Max! You can beat this egghead! I know you can!"

Even when Darry was forced to let go of him in the physical world, Maxwell's eyes widen after hearing the sounds of Darry's encouragement.

Understanding what Darry's plan is, SpongeTron and the twins all glance at each other and smile. Tammy makes her way over to Maxwell and grips on to his arm while crying out, "You can do this, Max! I've always believed in you! Always!"

When she is forced to let go, Tammy is blown by the psychic force up towards the sky until Darry reaches out for her while gripping onto the top of the cellular tower. He catches Tammy and holds her close as they grip onto the tower tightly.

But in the mindscape, it was clear that Maxwell heard Tammy's voice as well, and soon afterwards, hears Tommy saying, "Don't give up, Max! I know you can do it, you're too stubborn to quit!"

SpongeTron's voice was then heard, "Kick his psychic butt, Max! If there's one change I wanna make happen, it's a change where everyone is happy, especially you! Do it!"

The robot lets go of Maxwell's ankles and is thrown upwards to where Darry, Tammy, and Tommy are hanging onto the top of the cellular tower, with the robot extending his arms to grab onto it as well.

Once Maxwell no longer hears his friends' voices, Future Eustace begins to mock him, 'Are you really gonna take their advice? Please, you're just a child against an experienced adult; the statistics say you lose, so lose already!'

He unleashes a psychic blast at Maxwell that nearly overwhelms him. But upon remembering his friends' encouragement and support, Maxwell glares in determination and yells, "NO!" His eyes suddenly glow blue and he begins levitating as high as Future Eustace, stunning the latter. Maxwell then says through his thoughts, 'You may be smarter and more experienced than me, but I have something you don't: friends and family who support whatever I do and accept me for who I am!'

He unleashes a psychic blast at Future Eustace...

And in the real world, Future Eustace screams in agony while holding his head, and in the back of his neck, the neural intelligence device he is wearing, cracks on the surface of his skin. Falling unconscious, he suddenly drops to the ground on the roof of the cellular tower.

When the psychic wind dies down, everything becomes calm. But Maxwell also falls unconscious and is about to drop to the ground as well until Future SpongeTron extends his arms and catches him.

As Future SpongeTron holds Maxwell, everyone immediately rushes over to him. "Max, you did it!" Tammy proudly said, "You beat him!" But when she got no response, her excitement turns to concern, "Max?"

They see Maxwell's eyes halfway closed and he is unresponsive. Almost in the exact same way his father is in the future.

Darry suddenly became concerned as well. "Max? Can you hear me?" He asked in a pleading voice. "Max!"

When Cindy started repeating his name, Jimmy grabbed Maxwell by the shoulders and turned him over to discover that the neural intelligence device was cracked while still attached to his neck. SpongeTron realized what this means and reacts in horror. "No..."

Cindy begins sobbing into Jimmy's chest as he comforts her, Tammy sobs as well while Tommy cries next to her and Darry looks away in sadness. Future SpongeTron holds Maxwell's catatonic body close as he softly says, "Max…I'm sorry I couldn't protect you."

Even Eustace is shocked to see what has happened. He is unsure what to do, but heard a groan and turned to see Future Eustace starting to wake up. He shook his head, confused as he checked his surroundings. "Wha... where... am I?" He was about to stand until someone socked him hard in the jaw.

Future Eustace fell face down and glanced up to see a furious Jimmy. "You..." Jimmy growled. "You did THIS!" He would have punched his near-future rival harder or worse if Cindy and Future SpongeTron didn't intervene.

Eustace stood between them as he yelled at the restrained Jimmy. "Neutron, what are you doing?! That's me, remember?!"

Jimmy fiercely answered, "In a minute, you're gonna wish it wasn't." He tried to charge at Future Eustace again, but his wife and future robot pull him back again.

"Jimmy," Cindy said in a calm voice, "Calm down."

Future Eustace sat up and stared at his attacker in confusion until he recognized him. "Neutron?" He asked in surprise. "What's going on? I was testing out the neural intelligence device and suddenly I knew every step I needed to take to defeat you and...I almost took over Retroville." He reacts in horror by this revelation. "My company is going to suffer from this."

But Jimmy was still furious at him. "This is because of you! My son is gone because of you!" his voice began to crack, "I...never even got the chance to tell him how much I love him."

Future SpongeTron placed a hand on his shoulder and gently assured him, "He already knew, Commander. He always knew."

Jimmy fell silent afterwards while still full of grief. He then walks towards Future Eustace, who flinches in fear at what he might do. While Jimmy balls up his fist and raises it as if to strike him again, he looks at the Nicktoons who sadly watch everything while holding Maxwell. Afterwards, he just slumps in depression before walking away and falling to his knees.

Seeing how far Neutron has fallen, Eustace goes over to his future self, who once again flinches at what he might do. But Eustace just reaches into his lab coat and pulls out a folded piece of paper. He walks over to Jimmy and states, "James, I should probably remind you of our deal that if I help you save the future, you would work for me now."

Jimmy just looked away in grief, not responding to this unneeded reminder. Cindy was about to charge at him, but was held back by Future SpongeTron. Eustace continued, "However, seeing that your invention failed, it is unfortunate to inform you that your services will no longer be required." He then hands the paper to Jimmy and the latter unfolds it to see it's the schematic for his invention.

Understanding what Eustace's motives were, Jimmy smiled with gratitude as he held the schematic. "Thank you for your consideration."

Jimmy stood up and walked back to the kids, who were still mourning Maxwell. He kneeled down and Tammy jumped into his arms, sobbing into his chest, "Jimmy, what're we gonna do?"

Seeing his lifeless future son, Jimmy holds up the schematic and answers, "The only thing we can do. I can tear this up and everything will go back to normal. But we will forget all this ever occurred...and we will forget Maxwell was ever present."

Cindy came over and sat next to Jimmy, hugging him for comfort. Future SpongeTron joined them while stating, "I know I said we shouldn't do that, but..."

"Let's do it, Commander!" Darry insisted.

"Let's do it now." Tommy agreed as Poof nodded.

"I don't care about change." SpongeTron added in tears. "I just want Max to be okay."

Tammy steps away from Jimmy, wiping away her tears. Darry holds her shoulder and speaks for her, "Our dads were right. We may not have kids of our own yet, but we understand now what it means to make a choice to save someone we care about, even if it won't work out the way we want it."

"Whatever you decide to do, Jimmy, we'll support you a hundred percent." Tammy assured.

Jimmy stared in amazement at their support to save his son. SpongeTron, Tommy, Poof, Darry, Tammy, Cindy, and Future SpongeTron all smiled in agreement. Eustace just watches the scene, choosing not to intervene. Gripping the paper in both hands, with one foul swoop, he tore the schematic in half right down the middle, and then proceeded to tear it into four for good measure.

In an unusual turn of events, Maxwell's body disappears, Future SpongeTron disappears, and Future Eustace disappears before, finally, so does Eustace himself, along with Cindy, Jimmy, and the rest of the Nicktoons until the whole world disappears in a flash of bright blue light.

The battle is over and the future is saved thanks to the Nicktoons old and new. Please review your thoughts and feelings.
