Hey guys! I'm so sorry that I haven't updated in a while. I'm living the college life and now have a job. I'm trying to do as much writing as possible, but it is very difficult. If you wanna hear another story I'm writing, go to RayonisRayon's YouTube channel, where he has read two chapters of a story I'm also working on. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this chapter!
The End of the World Part 1
When I woke up again, I was in a modern Tardis. I sit up to find the Ninth Doctor and Rose. Well, I've gotta deal with Rose again. I'm not sure I want to if I'm being honest.
"Kate! You're here! I was just asking Rose where she wants to go." He's never asked me where I wanted to go. I'm new to this as well. "So, Rose, where are we going? Backwards or forwards in time? It's your choice. What's it going to be?"
"Forwards." Rose says.
"How far?"
"One hundred years." We fly for a little bit and land.
"There you go. Step outside those doors, and it's the twenty second century."
"You're kidding."
"That's a bit boring, though. Do you want to go further?"
"Fine by me." The Doctor flips more switches, and we land again.
"Ten thousand years in the future. Step outside, and it's the year 12005, the new Roman Empire."
"You think you're so impressive."
"I am so impressive. Right, Kate?" I nod my head and just stay in my spot by the console.
"You wish."
"Right then, you asked for it. I know exactly where to go. Hold on!" We fly again and land seconds later.
"Where are we? What's out there?" The Doctor gestures towards the doors, and she takes off running. He follows without saying anything to me. I sigh and do the same. We walk out into a large room with a huge window looking out onto the Earth.
"You lot, you spend all your time thinking about dying like you're going to get killed by eggs or beef or global warming or asteroids, but you never take time to imagine the impossible: that maybe you survive. This is the year five point five slash apple slash twenty six. Five billion years in your future, and this is the day." He says as he looks at his watch. "Hold on." Sun flares are outside the window and are really close to the Earth. "This is the day the Sun expands. Welcome to the end of the world."
"Shuttles five and six now docking. Guests are reminded that Platform One forbids the use of weapons, teleportation, and religion. Earth death is scheduled for fifteen thirty nine." Scheduled? A whole planet is going away, and you're talking like it's a meeting. Hopefully everyone has left Earth. After the computer said that, we followed a sign saying Platform One.
"So, when it says guests, does that mean people?" Rose asks.
"Depends on what you mean by people."
"I mean people. What do you mean?"
"Aliens." Me and the Doctor say at the same time.
"What are they doing on board this spaceship? What's it all for?"
"It's not really a spaceship, more like an observation deck. The great and the good are gathering to watch the planet burn." The Doctor says.
"What for?"
"Fun." We get to another room with a large window that you can see the Earth from. "Mind you, when I said the great and the good, what I mean is the rich."
"But, hold on. They did this once on Newsround Extra. The sun expanding that takes hundreds of years."
"Millions but the planet's now property of the National Trust. They've been keeping it preserved. See down there? Gravity satellites holding back the sun."
"The planet looks the same as ever. I thought the continents shifted and things."
"They did, and the Trust shifted them back. That's a classic Earth, but now the money's run out. Nature takes over."
"How long's it got?"
"About half an hour, and then the planet gets roasted."
"Is that why we're here? I mean is that what you two do? Jump in at the last minute and save the Earth?"
"Not this time." I say sadly.
"We're not saving it. Time's up." The Doctor says.
"But what about the people?" Rose asks.
"It's empty. They're all gone. No one left." Well, that's good to know.
"Just me then."
"I'm human too. I'm not alien." Rose looks at me weirdly, but doesn't say anything as a blue-skinned man walks up to us.
"Who the Hell are you?" The man asks.
"Oh, that's nice, thanks." The Doctor says.
"But how did you get in? This is a maximum hospitality zone. The guests have disembarked. They're on their way any second now."
"That's me. I'm a guest. Look, I've got an invitation." He says pulling out his physic paper. "Look. There, you see? It's fine, you see? The Doctor and Kate Foster plus one. I'm the Doctor. This is my wife Kate." He says putting an arm around me. I stiffen a little but don't move. "This is our friend, Rose Tyler. Is that all right?" The Doctor puts his physic paper away.
"Well, obviously. Apologies, et cetera. If you're on board, we'd better start. Enjoy." The man says going over to something in the room.
"The paper's slightly psychic. It shows them whatever I want them to see. Saves a lot of time."
"He's blue." Rose says.
"Yeah." Me and the Doctor say.
"Okay." The man goes to the middle of the room.
"We have in attendance the Doctor, Kate Foster, and Rose Tyler. Thank you. All staff to their positions." A lot of shorter people coming running into the room. "Hurry, now, thank you. Quick as we can. Come along, come along, and now, might I introduce the next honored guest? Representing the Forest of Cheam, we have trees, namely Jabe, Lute, and Coffa." A female tree and two male trees come into the room. "There will be an exchange of gifts representing peace. If you could keep the room circulating, thank you. Next, from the solicitors Jolco and Jolco, we have the Moxx of Balhoon." There was another blue alien that came in on a pod. "And next from Financial Family Seven, we have the Adherents of the Repeated Meme." The group of aliens in black robes come in. "The inventors of Hypo-slip Travel Systems, the brother Hop Pyleen. Thank you." Some reptile looking aliens wearing fur come in. The tree people come up to us as more people keep getting introduced.
"The gift of peace I bring you is a cutting of my Grandfather." The lady says handing me the plant in a small pot.
"Thank you. Yes, gifts. Er, we give you in return air from our lungs." He breathes in the lady's face. I do the same.
"How intimate." She says.
"There's more where that came from." I roll my eyes.
"I bet there is." The lady says leaving.
"From the Silver Devastation, the sponsor of the main event, please welcome the Face of Boe." Jack! I think as he is rolled in. I'm definitely going to try and talk to him. I have to know one hundred percent if that is Jack. It'll be the first time I've met him. The Doctor sees my excitement and gives me a confused look.
"Spoilers." I say in my River impression. The other blue alien guests come up to us.
"The Moxx of Balhoon." The Doctor says.
"My felicitations on this historical happenstance. I give you the gift of bodily salivas." Moxx then goes on to spit, but instead of hitting the Doctor, it hits Rose. It takes everything in myself not to let out a laugh.
"Thank you very much." The Doctor says as Moxx leaves and the black robed people come up to us. "Ah! The Adherents of the Repeated Meme. I bring you air from my lungs." The Doctor says going in to breathe on the aliens, but they simply hold out a ball.
"A gift of peace in all good faith." One of them say.
"And last but not least, our very special guest. Ladies and gentlemen, and trees and multiforms, consider the Earth below. In memory of this dying world, we call forth the last human. The Lady Cassandra O'Brien Dot Delta Seventeen." He says and Cassandra gets rolled in. Yeah, I was not looking forward to seeing her. She's got to be one of the creepiest things on this show. It's kinda of offensive that's considered human.
"Oh, now, don't stare. I know I know it's shocking isn't it? I've had my chin completely taken away and look at the difference! Look how thin I am. Thin and dainty. I don't look a day over two thousand. Moisturize me. Moisturize me." Yep that is going to be in my nightmares forever. Her servants spritz her just like the show. "Truly, I am the last human. My father was a Texan. My mother was from the Arctic Desert." What? "They were born on the Earth and were the last to be buried in its soil. I have come to honor them and say goodbye. Oh, no tears, no tears. I'm sorry, but behold, I bring gifts. From Earth itself, the last remaining ostrich egg. Legend says it had a wingspan of fifty feet and blew fire from its nostrils, or was that my third husband? Oh, no. Oh, don't laugh. I'll get laughter lines. And here another rarity." Rose walks around Cassandra, while me and the Doctor stay where we are. "According to the archives, this was called an iPod. It stores classical music from humanity's greatest composers. Play on!" She says as a juke box is rolled in. This fraud.
"Refreshments will now be served. Earth death in thirty minutes." The steward says. Rose runs off, and the Doctor gets stopped. I knew exactly where I wanted to go: The Face of Boe.
"Kate Foster, how good it is to see you." He says as I walk up to him.
"Jack is that really you?" I ask.
"Don't you recognize this dashingly handsome face?" I just laugh and shake my head.
"I actually haven't met you yet. I just had to know whether or not this was you."
"It's been many lifetimes since I've last seen you, Kate. It's good to see you old friend."
"It's good to see you Jack."
"Oh, I had a feeling you were going to be here." He looks at the aliens around him that was helping him. They come up to me with a chest. They open it to reveal a beautiful bracelet. I take it out and look at it. There wasn't really anything special about the thing, but it did look like it had some technology in it. "As you've probably noticed this is not just a piece of jewelry." I nodded my head. "This bracelet allows you to talk to me at any time. No matter where you are. No matter where I am. We will always be able to talk to each other."
"How did you get this?"
"That's a long story. I've lived a really long time Kate Foster. I've had time to find these kinds of things." Jack focuses on something behind me. I turn to see the Doctor watching us. "Looks like he wants to talk to you." I sigh.
"I'm so glad I got to talk to you."
"Same here Kate. We haven't spoken in so long."
"I will most definitely use this bracelet. You will see me again." I say leaving Jack and going over to the Doctor.
"You know the Face of Boe?" He asks.
"He's an old friend." I say putting on the bracelet. "He gave me this beautiful bracelet." The Doctor looked at it for a moment but disregarded it.
To Be Continued...
Well, there you go guys! I'm sorry I haven't posted in forever. I'm going to just upload this as I finish the chapters. It'll hopefully be more than once a week. I got a job, but it won't affect things hopefully. Anyways, I'm headed to Walker Stalker Con in Nashville this weekend, so that might affect things. I'll try to update more though. Anyways, I hope you guys have an amazing day! Bye!
