The Macra Terror Part 2
After I was done with my facial, I hear commotion going on in another part of the building. I stand up from the chair I was sitting in and run towards where the commotion was going on.
"He let the prisoner escape! That is a crime in this Colony! For that men must work in the pit. Guards!" I hear Ola yell. What did the Doctor do?
"You can't touch him. He doesn't know your laws." Polly says joining me.
"That's true, Ola. He is a stranger here." The Pilot says.
"There's something else you're forgetting, gentlemen. I set free someone that we caught in the first place." The Doctor says.
"True. A reasonable point of view, Ola."
"Medok is dangerous. He should have never let him go. The Colony will be petrified when they know he's out there in the night." Ola says.
"Well, send your patrol after him. He can't have got far."
"He can run, you know. He's got legs. He doesn't have to crawl over the ground." The Doctor says.
"Why do you say that?"
"No reason. No reason at all."
"Anyone who spreads that kind of rumor in this Colony will find himself in the hospital for correction."
"Oh. Oh, that's where Medok lives, is it?" I ask.
"I think, Doctor and Kate, you will understand more about Medok if you talk to some of the people who knew him best." The Pilot says.
"Pilot, I think-" Ola starts.
"Now take the strangers to the labor center, Ola. See they learn something about us. Pete, go with him."
"O. Well, thank you." The Doctor says as we're led to where Ben and Jamie are.
"This is your Controller speaking. There is no need for alarm. You may all continue your work and play confident that the best is being done for you, but our unfortunate companion Medoke has been allowed to escape. Emergency Patrols two and three are now searching the Colony. He is sure to be caught before it is dark. Now, return to your work and play with fresh heart and renewed energy." The Controller says as we head over to them.
"They've got that bloke all over the place like a blinking politician." Ben says.
"He is our Controller. We're always please to see him. He brings us encouragement." Pete says.
"Oh, he's not a politician then." Yeah, sounds very different to a politician.
"Number nine shift to stand by. Leader to report to the Youth Center." The Controller says.
"Work shift ready to leave." Pete says.
"That's a nice wee tune, Doctor." Jamie says commenting on the music that starts playing again.
"Yeah, if you happen to like work." Ben says.
"It's a privilege to work for the Colony." Pete says.
"Shift leader reporting. Shift number nine, all present and correct." A man says coming up to us.
"Good. You're the first of the night shifts." The official near us says.
"What do you do then? Farming or fishing?" Jamie asks.
"We work very hard here."
"Yes, but what do you do?" The Doctor asks.
"We tap and refine gas."
"For heating?" I ask.
"No, we use it for many things. The Colony depends on it. It's absolutely essential. Emergency!" As the official says this, two miners come in. "Quick, give me that. Come on."
"Accident. Stand by, oxygen supply." The shift leader says.
"Take them away. Any other losses?"
"Two with gas sickness. Come on." Pete says.
"What happened?" Ben asks confused.
"Their work. It can't be helped. Work must be done." The official says.
"Do you hear that, Doctor? Where's he gone?" Polly asks. Me and the Doctor make our way to where the accident happened. No one stopped us. As we were walking around, we saw Medok.
"We saw you." The Doctor says as we walk to where Medok was hiding.
"Get out." Medok says.
"Oh, that's not very polite. I was interested in what you were saying."
"Who else knows I'm here?"
"No one besides me and Kate. Why should I tell them? Now, these creatures. Have you seen them clearly? What do they look like?"
"What's it got to do with you?"
"But I'm interested. What do they look like?"
"All right, if you really want to know. It's hard to say. They move at night in the dark. And horrible. Creatures like giant insects."
"With big claws?"
"Yes, that's it."
"You've seen them in the Colony?"
"Oh, yes."
"Has anyone else seen them?" I ask.
"A few, but they lock them up in the correction hospital."
"Why do they do that?"
"Control tells them to. They'll put me back there when they catch me. They'll put you two back there for helping me."
"Doctor! Kate!" We hear Jamie and Ben yell.
"Go on, quickly. They're looking for you."
"Doctor!" Ben yells again. Me and the Doctor get up and head back to the refreshment center.
"Were you looking for us? We were just looking around, that's all." The Doctor says as we approach Ola, Ben, Jamie, and Polly.
"It's dangerous to go off on your own after dark." Ola says.
"Oh, I'm used to the dark. I like it." I say.
"We're confined to rest cubicles at night by order of Control. Anyone who wonders round the Colony at night may be killed."
"Curfew time. All personal not on duty must retire to quarters." The Controller says.
"Do you hear that?"
"Emergency patrols two and three to remain on duty. Work shifts to remain at their posts until dawn. Visitors to retire for the night to the refreshing department."
"That's you. You're confined here." Ola says. We're all led to our cubicles, but I keep my door open just in case the Doctor leaves. He's staying in a cubicle close to me, but it's still a little farther away.
"It is now dark. No one will go outside into the Colony. A dangerous man is in hiding. Our patrols have orders to shoot on sight. Happy sleep time, everybody." I heard the controller say. After a moment, I hear a knock on my cubicle. I open the door to see the Doctor. He puts a finger to his lips to tell me to stay quiet. I follow him out into the colony sneaking around to get back to the building site. As we were walking around, I hear strange noises. This must be the creatures he's talking about. We make it back to where Medok was and catch him off guard.
"It's all right. It's us. Stay where you are." The Doctor says.
"Why are you two back?" Medok asks.
"Don't move."
"Have a look in those new houses they're building." We hear Ola say somewhere off.
"He's coming. We'll have to get out." Medok says.
"Wait. If he comes in this way, we go out the back. If he comes in the back way, we'll go out ahead here." The Doctor says.
"Yes, all right. He's coming to the front of the house."
"Over here. I hear something." Ola says again.
"All right, you two go back." The Doctor says.
"You can't stay here." Medock says.
"I'll try to create a diversion."
"They'll kill you!" Medock exclaims.
"Do as I tell you."
"Trust him. He knows what he's doing." I say. Medok pauses for a moment and nods his head.
"Thanks." Medok says.
"Go on. Go on. All right, we'll go through the opening when I give the word." Pause. "Right, now." Medok didn't move.
"No, look out there." Medock says pointing outside.
"I don't see anything." The Doctor says. I don't see anything either.
"In that patch of moonlight. I told you I'd seen them." I looked where he was pointing and saw a crablike thing. Well, crap. The creature moved quickly away. "That proves it. I wasn't seeing things." Medok says a little loudly.
"Medok. The guards...they'll hear you." The Doctor says trying to quiet Medok.
"It doesn't matter. They can't lock me up again. Now I can prove it. We know they're real."
"Medock."
"Medock, I know you're in there. Come out quietly." We hear the voice of Ola say. Crap.
"You can put that gun away. I'm coming." Medock says back.
"Who's with you?"
"The Doctor and Kate." Why did he give us away?
"What are you doing here?"
"Don't waste time. Come on over here."
"Stay where you are."
"Listen, I came out to show you." Medock says going towards Ola.
"Stand still!"
"It's the Maca, Ola! They are real! Ask the Doctor and Kate. They'll tell you."
"Yes, we can confirm." The Doctor says.
"We don't want to know what the strangers think." Ola says.
"Well, it might be as well to." The Doctor says starting to walk away. I naturally follow after him.
"Where do you think you're going?"
"I just thought I'd go and have a look."
"Stay where you are. Guard, search them."
"What will they do to us?" The Doctor asks as we're both seized.
"I'll tell you. You're going before the Pilot. You were in the company of an escaped criminal, and you were out in the Colony at night."
"I'm sorry, Doctor, Kate. I thought he would listen to reason." Medock says as we're being dragged away.
"Reason's the last thing a man like Ola will listen to." The Doctor says.
"You're going to be in trouble, and it's my fault."
"Silence! Pilot's headquarters. Move!" Ola says as we're being shoved to what I assume is the Pilot's office.

Well, there you go guys! As I'm writing this, I'm finally watching Batman v Superman. I've owned this for almost 2 years now, and I have yet to watch it. My wifi is being spotty, so I'm watching it. I still have to finish watching Man of Steel as well. Oh well. I'll try and rent Justice League next. Anyways, I hope you guys have an amazing day! Bye guys!
