Hey guys! I am back with another chapter of Through Time and Space: Bad Wolf! I hope you guys noticed I wrote a couple chapters of the first part to this. If you didn't, it was just an adventure with the 8th Doctor. I had forgotten him, so I went back and wrote a couple of chapters for him. I am going to save the War Doctor for later on because of things I have planned. That first part is completely 100% done. There is no going back on it. Anyways, I'm listening to Passing Time by Heffron Drive ft. Logan Henderson. Enjoy the chapter!

Snakedance Part 1

I wake up in an older Tardis. I sit up to see Nyssa, wasn't it, come into the console room wearing a very round almost hoop-like skirt, over some shorts? It's a very colorful outfit.

"Well?" She asks coming in showing off to the Fifth Doctor who was looking upset at something on the console. If I remember correctly, Adric and Tegan was also with us in the last adventure. Tegan wanted to leave, so I assume this might be after the last time I was with the Fifth Doctor.

"We're not where we're supposed to be." He says.

"Where are we?"

"I don't know. There are traces of anti-matter."

"Omega?"

"Oh, highly unlikely he's still alive. It's not a navigational malfunction either." I'm not aware of a villain named Omega.

"Shall I wake Tegan?" Oh, so this might not be after the last adventure. Then where's Adric?

"No, no, there's no danger. Although it's puzzling. It's very puzzling." I walked over to the two to make my presence known.

"On the topic of your outfit, I think you look nice. It's very colorful." Nyssa lights up and runs over giving me a hug.

"Kate!"

"It's good to see you, Nyssa." I say returning the hug. I feel a tap on my shoulder.

"No hello for your husband?" I let out a laugh and kiss the Doctor's cheek.

"Hello darling." I say. "So, what's going on?" I ask looking at what he was just staring at.

"I don't know. It's being weird." Nyssa grabs a book nearby and looks up what we're looking at.

"Planet G139901KB in the Scrampus system. Local name: Manussa. Type 314S. Inhabited. Atmosphere ninety eight percent Terra normal, gravity ninety six percent Terra normal."

"Well, at least we can breath the air. I suppose that's something. You look different." The Doctor says.

"Yes, Doctor."

"The question is: how did we get here?"

"There's more. Third planet in the Federation system. Status: colony. Former homeworld Manussan Empire, destroyed. Former homeworld Sumaran Empire, destroyed. Present economy: subsistence agriculture and tourism."

"Former homeworld?"

"Manussan Empire."

"No, no, the other one."

"Sumaran Empire."

"This is serious. Someone's been playing around. Who set the coordinates?"

"Well, you did, didn't you?" I ask.

"No, no, no. Earlier, I was trying to teach the three of you to read the star charts. Now, one of you actually read out the coordinates for me to set. Who was it?"

"I can't remember."

"That's a later version of me." I say.

"It was Tegan." The Doctor says. Just then we hear a scream coming from one of the rooms of the Tardis. We run to the bedroom of Nyssa and Tegan. Tegan is sitting up with her eyes wide open. Me and the Doctor stay by the door while Nyssa checks on Tegan.

"Tegan, what's the matter? What happened?" Nyssa asks.

"It was the dream." Tegan says.

"The dream? What dream?" The Doctor asks.

"I can't...I can't remember. I can never remember."

"But you've had this dream, this particular dream, before." The Doctor says, his voice getting darker.

"Doctor, stop it." Nyssa says.

"Haven't you?"

"Yes." Tegan says timidly.

"Always the same dream?"

"Yes, I think so. The images fade so quickly."

"But the same feelings of fear remain."

"Doctor, it doesn't matter." Nyssa says turning back to Tegan. "You're awake now. It was only a dream."

"No, it wasn't, somehow." Tegan says.

"Tegan."

"She means it. I think she could be right." The Doctor says. We head back to the console room. Tegan is still shaken up from everything, but the Doctor doesn't seem to mind all that much. "Now then, Tegan, where are we?"

"What?" Tegan asks.

"Very simple question. Where are we?"

"Well, aren't we on Earth?"

"No, we're not. So?"

"Well how should I know?"

"Think!"

"Doctor." Nyssa tries to get to him.

"Please, Tegan, think. Reach into the back of your mind."

"Are we on Manussa?" Tegan asks.

"Good."

"Are we?"

"Yes, we are."

"How did I know that?"

"Manussa, formerly homeworld of the Sumaran Empire which may or may not ring a bell. Does it, Tegan? The Sumaran Empire?" The Doctor has Tegan to sit down as he pulls out a medallion.

"Is this necessary?" Nyssa asks.

"Yes, we must recover Tegan's dream, and simple hypnosis is the quickest way."

"But why must we?"

"Dreams are important, Nyssa. Never underestimate them. Once a man fell asleep, dreamt he was a frog. When he woke up, he didn't know if he was a man who dreamt he was a frog, or a frog who was now dreaming he was a man."

"I'm still possessed, aren't I, Doctor. The Mara from the world of the Kinda is still inside my head somewhere, isn't it?" She was possessed? I don't remember ever hearing about this story.

"We'll have to see."

"But you think so." Poor Tegan.

"It does seem likely. I'm sorry."

"But where?"

"Well, obviously below the threshold of conscious thought. I would imagine that when awake your mind is still strong enough to resist, but in sleep, it loosens its grip and battle is joined."

"In my dreams?"

"Yes."

"The battle for what?"

"For control."

"That's why you misread the coordinates." Nyssa says.

"It's possible the Mara seized temporary control and brought itself home. Now, insert the earpiece. Try to relax, and when switched on, listen to the sound." Tegan does as instructed. Me and Nyssa stand by as the Doctor hypnotizes Tegan. "Where are you now?"

"On Deva Loka, the Kinda world." Tegan says.

"What are you doing there?"

"It's horrible. Is that thing inside my head? You must know I climbed a tree and dropped apples on its head. No. I will never agree to what you ask. Doctor? Am I free of the Mara now? Forever? Am I?"

"You must go deeper, Tegan. Much deeper. Where are you now?"

"I'm in my garden, silly. Everything grows in my garden. People always come back. I close my eyes. I want them to come back, and they do. It always works. I can tell lies too. People don't always notice, so I'm safe here."

"How old are you?"

"I'm six, silly."

"Tegan, now you must leave your garden."

"Oh, why?"

"And go still deeper. Deeper and further. Much further. Can you hear me? Now, I want you to go into the dream."

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because I mustn't."

"Tegan, you're perfectly safe. You must go into the dream. Where are you now?"

"Snake mouth. Cave. Out."

"Out where?"

"I'm outside. I'm being fed this image."

"Go in."

"No! Mustn't."

"Tegan, you must go into the cave. We need to know what's there."

"Something in there. Over there. Mustn't look. Mustn't ever look. I'm safe if I don't look."

"Tegan."

"No."

"You're perfectly safe. You must look. We need to know what is there."

"Go away!" Tegan yells in a different voice as her eyes fly open. The Doctor goes over to his machine and fiddles with it. Tegan keeps her eyes open, but she just lays there almost unresponsive.

"That voice, what was it?" Nyssa asks.

"The Mara, speaking through Tegan's mouth." The Doctor says.

"On Deva Loka you said a physical change took place when possessed by a Mara."

"It does, as mental resistance weakens, but this time I can prevent it."

"How?"

"With this. It inhibits the production of brainwaves associated with dreaming." The Doctor says plugging Tegan's earpiece back into his machine.

"Then what?" Nyssa asks.

"We must find the cave, the snake mouth in the dream."

"It's a real place?" I ask.

"Oh, yes. What's more, I would guess it's somewhere nearby." Me, the Doctor, and Nyssa take her outside the Tardis. We find ourselves in a market place. "Now, she will be experiencing total exclusion of all outside sound, so you must be her ears."

"She can't dream now. She's awake." Nyssa says.

"Dreams are occurring in the mind all the time. Come on, we must hurry." The Doctor hurries over to a stall holder and starts talking to them, while Nyssa is intently listening to Tegan through the device the Doctor gave her.

"Tegan, are you all right?" Pause.

"Doctor?" I ask as he comes back over to us.

"I was right. It seems there's a cave system near by that fits the description. It's, er..." He looks around. "This way." He says pointing and walking off. Me and Nyssa follows. We make it to the mouth of the cave and stop. It was huge with stairs leading up. "Extraordinary, isn't it?" Tegan walks up to the steps and stops.

"Doctor."

"It's the cave from her dream." The Doctor says taking Tegan's arm and leads her up to the cave opening, but Tegan doesn't want it. "Now, there's nothing to be frightened of. Tegan starts pulling away.

"No!" Tegan yells.

"Doctor, she can't hear you." Nyssa says. "What are we going to do? She won't go any further. She's too frightened."

"Well, you'll have to stay with her. Kate and I will go into the cave." The Doctor says. We make it up to the mouth of the cave, when we hear voices coming from inside. We follow the voices into a large chamber. When we get inside, we hear two voices.

"In Sumaran three period, the head has a tendency to be less pronounced, but in general..." The first voice says.

"Oh, do be quiet just for a moment. It is horrible." The second voice says. "I'm very glad the Legend of the Return is just a story. It is, isn't it?" The Doctor pops up from where we are.

"No, I'm afraid it's not." Bodyguards come over and grab the two of us, twisting an arm behind our backs. Why did the Doctor do this?
