Chapter 3 : Steph's Decision
When Ranger got into his truck, he could see the tears again in Steph's eyes.
"Hey Babe," he said and then pulled her into his arms.
"Ranger I am sorry I thought my mom would be happy about me getting married again, but she only has eyes for Morelli for me" Ranger then put his finger under her chin and kissed her hard on the lips.
"Let's go back to the apt." Ranger said and then he drove off.
When they walked into Rangeman, Tank came up to Ranger, "We might have a problem"
"Babe I will be up in a few minutes here is the key." Then he handed her the key.
When Stephanie was gone "What is going on Tank?"
"There might be a bomb in this building we have our bomb squad checking every nick and cranny starting with your apartment." Tank told Ranger.
"Okay, get everybody out I will get Stephanie, then go to the safe houses that are set up." Ranger said and then entered the elevator.
When Ranger caught up with Stephanie, "Babe we have to leave Rangeman, there might be a bomb in the building."
"I know." Then Ranger saw her frozen in the living room.
"Babe don't move" Then he ran down the hall. He found the bomb squad.
"Hey guys the bomb is in my apt somebody get over here now!" Ranger yelled. Then they moved very slowly into Ranger's apt, and they saw the bomb and they saw Stephanie frozen.
"Hang in there Miss Plum we will disable the bomb." One of the techs said and then he moved closer to the bomb and saw the red, blue and white wire. Ranger just watched his men, there was nothing that he could do so he waited for them to work.
The tech who was the one closest to the bomb got his wire cutters out and then he cut the red wire, and then the timer started to count down. "Oops, Miss Plum run" The tech told her. She ran and Ranger caught her and then he pulled her down and then his apt exploded.
Ranger got up and pulled her to his feet. Then they started to run down the stairs as fast as they could go. When they got to the exit door they went out and saw the rest of Rangeman in flames.
"Well Carlos what do we do now?" Tank asked his partner and friend.
"We call the insurance company in the morning and file a claim, but for tonight we go to the safe houses as soon as we can." Ranger told everyone and then they waited for the police and fire department to come.
Morelli was one of the detectives that was called to the scene.
"What the hell happened?" Morelli yelled to Ranger.
"First don't yell at me and second there was a bomb in my apt that Rangeman's bomb squad tried to disarm and it blew up and my business is ruined for the time being." Ranger told him and Stephanie could tell he was going to hit Morrelli.
She walked up to Ranger and then got on her tiptoes and gave him a deep kiss.
After the kiss he relaxed a little. "Now what do you need from me?" Ranger asked Morelli.
"Well I don't think we need anything right now so you and you cronies can go." Morelli said.
Ranger then turned around and got his workers and friends attention, "All right everyone we are free to go, and we will all go to our assigned safe houses until further notice. So try and get some sleep everyone." Then Ranger pulled Tank aside. "Tank you have a place set up so you can go there and try to find out who was able to get that bomb into my apt." Ranger told him.
"Got it where will you and Stephanie be, your safe house is too small for her." Tank said to Ranger.
"We will be at my place." Stephanie told Tank, "So if you need Carlos or me you can catch us there. Ranger I want to go home can we leave now."
"Yeah we can babe, lets go" Then Ranger and Stephanie got into his truck and took off to Steph's apartment.
