CHAPTER NINETEEN

(BPOV)

I didn't know such passion could exist. My body ached and was sore...but in the best way. We had made love in his garage till our bodies were covered in a fine sheen of sweat till my legs were shaking. We were insatiable. His touch left me riding a euphoric high that I never wanted to come down from. His strong hands had caressed every inch of me and left me wanting more.

My head now laid against Jacobs firm chest, hearing the sound of his beating heart beneath it.

Was this real?

Could it be that after all this time, I was finally whole?

The answer to my silent question came from the sound of Jacob whispering my name.

"Bells..."

I peered up to meet his inquisitive gaze, noting the sleep still heavy in it.

"Yeah."

"My dad will be here soon. We should get dressed."

I wanted to do anything but...

"I suppose we should."

With heavy eyes, I gathered my scattered clothing on his bedroom floor and hurriedly dressed, feeling Jacobs eyes on me.

"You're damn near perfect." He huskily stated, slipping on his shirt and opening the bedroom door.

I blushed at his words and soon took his offered hand as he led me into the kitchen, quickly digging for pots and pans.

"Think you can stay for something to eat?"

I nodded, glancing at the stove clock and noting the time as a whispered curse left me. It was getting late and I didn't want to be pushing my luck with Charlie.

"I think I should maybe get going... Charlie might be upset if it's too late when I get back." I sighed, seeing the evident look of disappointment on his handsome face.

"You're probably right." He replied, drawing me near to him.

"Thank you for today." I breathed, seeing the grin tug at his lips.

"I love you, Bells."

"I love you, too."

With regret and dread, I headed for home, not able to think of anything but Jacob as I drove.

The long road stretched before me as I passed into Forks and soon turned onto my street. To my surprise, I had beaten Charlie there and was able to start on some dinner for him, but just as I turned to fill the pot with water, an iron clad grip took hold of me by the arm and the pan fell to the floor.

"I've been waiting for you, Isabella." The familiar voice hissed at me, as the blackened gaze of Edward Cullen met mine. "Where have you been?"

I shook with fear and winced in pain as his grip tightened on my arm, choosing to remain silent.

"I asked you a question! Where have you been!?" He shouted, yanking me around forcefully to better look at him.

He leaned in then suddenly, his nose inches from my hair now and I watched with sick satisfaction as his eyes narrowed at me.

"With him."

"He has a name. it's Jacob in case you forgot!" I spat back. "Let go of me."

He shoved me forward, effectively releasing me as I hurried away from him, my eyes fixed on his angry face.

"How could you betray me like this?" He raged, throwing a kitchen chair across the room, the wooden pieces of which splintered immediately from his force.

"Get out."

"I'm not going anywhere Isabella. What you and I shared was meant to be... your blood was meant to be a treasure that I kept all for my own and now look what you've done. You've betrayed what we had... for that mutt."

"You left!" I screamed, feeling the months of torment bubble to the surface.

"I had no choice."

"There is always a choice!"

"You were supposed to be mine... forever!"

He lurched forward, placing himself inches from me and my fear began to overwhelm me. My body trembling from his anger as he peered down at me. His look menacing and cold.

"You're coming with me now." He declared, taking hold of me despite my protest.

"I'm not going anywhere with you!" I screamed.

"Fighting me will do you no good. There is a better life for us waiting in Volterra and I am taking you there with me so we can begin it together."

Horror rocked through me as his words sank in.

"Volterra!?"

"Yes!" He raged, turning on his heel to face me again. "A new coven awaits us there... one that you have been promised to... one that we have been promised to. It's there that we can finally be together forever."

I shook my head frantically. "No! Edward! Stop!"

He would hear nothing as he forced me into the back of his Volvo, his iron hand at my throat now.

"If you fight me anymore, I will be forced to take extreme measures and I promise you, they are measures you don't want me to take." He hissed, before slamming the door shut.

My tears ran slowly down my cheeks as we hit the highway.

This wasn't happening.

"You can't do this." I cried. "You can't be so heartless!"

"You're wrong. I don't have a heart... which is unlucky for you." He replied, throwing me a disgusted glare. "I can smell him all over you."

I trembled at his words, my mind going to Jacob as he hit the gas, leaving everything I loved behind us.

"Take me back." I begged him. "I don't want this!"

"It wasn't so long ago that you did!" He hissed.

"Things change!"

"You are and forever will be mine. Our kind mate for life."

"You're a monster." I fumed, inching myself further away from him.

"Maybe I am or maybe you feel that way now because I'm not the right monster for you anymore."

I couldn't stop the tears as the minutes turned into hours and the hours into many miles. I recognized nothing ... no road looked familiar.

I was completely at his mercy.
