Chapter 19 Steph's Decision
On the way home, Ranger stated, "who could have done this?"
"Carlos, what if it was Morelli that set the bomb?" she stated to him.
"Babe are you saying that Morelli is up to all of this?" Ranger asked her as he was driving home.
Julie was looking out of the back-car window, when she noticed smoke from the trees.
"Dad, there is smoke in the woods by our house." Julie stated out loud.
"I hope that is not our house" Ranger roared and stepped on the gas.
When the three of them got home, they saw that it was indeed it was their house.
"Great" Ranger slammed his fist down on the steering wheel.
Stephanie used her cell phone to call 911 and within minutes the fire department came along with Tank.
"What happened?" Tank asked as he looked at the back of Ranger's head and saw Ranger's house on fire.
"We don't know, Julie saw smoke and when we drove in we saw the house on fire." Ranger told him.
"okay where do you want to go now?" Tank asked him.
While Tank was talking to Ranger, Stephanie was on the phone with her mom.
"Mom, we all ready ate but we could use a place to stay for a while." Stephanie asked her mom.
Ranger and Tank turned their head and looked at her with open mouths.
"Of course you two could stay." Helen answered over the phone.
"Mom we also have Julie if you remember?" Stephanie answered her.
"Of course I am sorry I completely forgot about that. You three are more than welcome here come over." Helen told her
"Thank's mom we are on our way" Stephanie hung up the phone.
"What she called me I had to answer the phone." Stephanie told them.
"Besides we do need a place to stay" she replied to them.
"We can go to a safe house darling and we can and will be safe there" Carlos told her.
"I know, but we have to tell my family that I am pregnant, and word travels fast in the burg, they all know that the house burned down. So with that being said mom would be crushed if we did not stay there" Stephanie to Carlos.
Carlos sighed and brought everyone to the car.
When they got in the car Stephanie noticed that someone was sleeping in the back of it.
"Julie, don't go in the car" Stephanie yelled as Julie was a step away from opening the door.
"Babe" Ranger looked at her with a question mark tattooed on his face.
Stephanie took her gun out of her purse which was unloaded and opened the trunk. She found Diesel sleeping in the back of the truck.
She tapped him on the head with the butt of her gun.
Diesel looked at Stephanie and said, "Well I was wondering how long it would be before you noticed me. What are you going to do Cutie shoot me with these many witnesses.
"Thinking of it, what do you want?" She questioned him and then motioned him out of Ranger's truck.
Diesel got out of the truck and stood by Ranger.
"She is not seriously thinking of shooting me?" Diesel pointed a finger to his chest.
"If she does not I will." Ranger told him, "Now answer her question." Ranger sharply replied.
Carlos walked around to Stephanie and put his arm around her waist to try to calm her down so we would not have Morelli here too.
"I was in the area and I decided to come and say hi. Wow nice ring cutie is that yours?" Diesel asked Stephanie after noticing the ring on her hand.
"yes, and we really have to go Diesel, we have people waiting for us." Stephanie told him.
"Okay tell your parents I said hi and I won't be out to late." Diesel walked away then.
"Babe how did you know there was someone in the truck?" Ranger asked.
"A gut feeling now let's go to my mom's house I have a few questions for her." She got in the front passenger side of the truck. Julie in the back and they left for the Plums house.
When they got to the Plums house, they saw Diesel waiting on the swing on the poarch.
"Hey there, it looks like we are family. My dad, is your dad's brother so we are cousins Stephanie." Diesel looked at her with a friendly face.
"Dad!" Stephanie rushed inside the house to find her long lost uncle there sitting on the sofa.
"Oh hi babie do you remember your uncle?" her father asked her.
"Yes, what is Diesel doing here?" Stephanie stammered.
" He is your cousin, my brother adopted him years ago as it turned out. He is my nephew and your cousin."
Stephanie's mouth dropped and so did Ranger's.
