A/N: Hello again! Thank you so much for reading this far! I really appreciate it. While you're here, I should remind you that I have made changes from the original version of this fanfic. If you really want to understand the lore of this story you should go back and read from the beginning (at least Sans' perspective - he's the one I've made the most changes to from a character point of view). If you would rather not, that is okay - you do you. Just be warned that some of the stuff from this one may not make much sense because it takes place in a different time frame than it used to. Thanks for reading!

PERCY

Standing at the gates of Camp Half-Blood, Percy sighed. Maybe he wasn't going to be told to go on an epic quest again. Maybe he would have a good summer break in which he wouldn't have to do death-defying stunts to save the world.

He knew that was probably just wishful thinking.

He only got a few steps into camp before someone had spotted him. The next thing he knew, he was being swarmed like a pop-singer among a sea of paparazzi.

The event only lasted about twenty seconds, but Percy still felt uncomfortable. Everyone wanted to greet the kid who helped save the world. Twice. Thankfully, Chiron, the camp's activities director and head centaur, was there to break up the crowd, or else the "greeting" would've lasted much longer than it did.

"Back up, back up!" Chiron stepped in front of Percy, as if to shield him. "I'm sure Percy is glad to see you all too, but I think he would like to settle into his cabin before he does anything else. You'll be able to see Percy more throughout the summer."

Campers spread out all over the grounds - some going to their cabins, some going to participate in minor camp activities, and some just wandering around. Considering the fact that most of those kids were just getting settled into their cabins, the real activities weren't going to start until after dinner.

"Thanks," Percy told Chiron.

"You are welcom, Percy. It seems as though you have become quite the celebrity."

"Yeah." He thought for a moment. "I don't think I like it very much."

Chiron chuckled. "Most don't, but I'm sure you'll be fine." He nodded toward the Poseidon cabin. "Why don't you go set up in your cabin and get ready for lunch?"

"Will do," Percy replied. "Thanks again."

While on his way, Percy stopped at the Apollo cabin. He knew about what had happened to Apollo - the fact that he had become a mortal was still a bit surprising. Percy had thought that hte only way a god could die was if he was forgotten, but he was, as usual, very wrong. He wondered if Apollo was in there, trying to avoid drawing attention to himself. It would seem like a god-turned-human would have much more publicity than Percy ever would.

"Hey, Percy," a voice behind him said, "you know your cabin's a bit farther down, right?"

He turned around to find Annabeth smiling at him.

"Or are you just a seaweed brain?"

She hugged him, and Percy's day became ten times brighter. He and Annabeth had been together for about two years now, but every hug, every touch, every kiss never lost its feeling. He wondered how he ever would've survived without her. The fact was, he couldn't. He knew he wouldn't have gotten very far in any of his quests if she hadn't been by his side, which, in Percy's eyes, made her mor than he ever deserved.

"Do you need any help with your stuff? Youl ook like you're struggling a little," she said.

Percy didn't have a suitcase because he and Sally didn't go on many vacation trips, so his clothes were haphazardly thrown into a blue backpack that was carelessly flung over one shoulder. there wasn't enough room in teh bag for everything else though, so he had to carry his sheets and other things in his arms. Every time he took a step he nearly dropped half of his belongings. Then again, he didn't want to make Annabeth carry his stuff. What kind of boyfriend made his girlfriend carry his stuff?

"I've got it," he said, but Annabeth had already reached up and grabbed his jacket and beat necklace off the top of his sheets.

"At least let me get this."

"Thanks, Wise Girl."

They finished the walk to the Poseidon cabin and Annabeth helped Percy neatly put away his things.

"You realize that this whole cabin will look like a mess by next week, right?"

"Not if you want to score well when your cabin's inspected."

"They'll give me pity points. I am the only person living here."

"They won't give you pity points if your girlfriend is the one scoring. Besides, you are the only one living here. You shouldn't make too much of a mess."

"Whatever," Percy chuckled.

In the distance, they heard a horn blow, signaling lunch.

"Let's go, Percy. I'm hungry." She headed toward the door to his cabin.

"Wait up, Percy said. "I'm coming." He grabbed Riptide off of his pillow. He had the strange feeling that he was going to need it soon.

SANS

Sans frantically ran to Papyrus' sentry station. I just have to be sure, he kept telling himself. I just have to be sure. When he reached Papyrus' post, his brother was nowhere to be found.

All Sans could feel in that moment was panic. He'd seen his brother being killed so many times before, but this was different. Celestial bronze? Gold remains? None of it made sense. And who was that boy?

Sans couldn't get those piercing blue-green eyes out of his head. they sent a chill down his spine. And his level was astronomically high. How many monsters had this guy killed to have so many execution points?

"Papyrus?" he called as he ran. "Where are you bro?"

"Sans?!"

"Pap!" Sans turned around to see Papyrus standing behind him, scarf blowing in the wind. He looked furious, but Sans didn't care. He reached out and slammed into Papyrus, hugging him tightly.

"Sans, I appreciate the gesture, but what the heck are you doing here? You're supposed to be at your post! You know how important it is for me to get into the royal guard! If we catch a human, maybe Undyne will -"

"If this is so important to you, then why aren't you at your post too?" Now it was Sans' turn to be angry. "You scared me!"

"I thought I heard a human!" He paused. "It turns out it was just that annoying dog... but that doesn't matter!" He glared at Sans. "I was at least doing my job!"

Sans pondered for a moment, still angry but also relieved that nothing had happened. Then he said something he never thought he would have to say.

"Promise me you'll never go to the ruins."

"What? Sans, that's not importan-"

"Promise me."

Papyrus could sense that something was wrong, but he knew that Sans wouldn't tell him what - not right now, anyway. "...Fine. I promise I will never go to the ruins." He paused. "Why would I ever go there anyway?"

Sans shrugged. He tried tot hink of a good pun to lighten the mood, but eh couldn't find any. He decided to blame it on not being in the right mindset for jokes.

Papyrus sighed. "Go back to your sentry station." A look of determination crossed his face. " You have to keep watch just in case a human appears!."

"Alright, Papyrus."

"And no slacking off!"

"Okay, okay." Sans let out a small laugh. "Stop berating me."

As Sans returned to his post, he made a promise of his won. Whoever this boy was, Sans was going to kill him before he ever stepped past that door.
