Naruto walked into the ruined mansion that was Bahamut's base in this world and looked around. The place was ransacked and tarnished. Violated by unlawful people of the chaotic place that was once Japan as it was now a domain of terror and fear in Tiamat's grip; no doubt that she'd plan on taking over the world. It was a truly cliché motive for a villain nowadays.

As he ventured deeper into the mansion's depths, slandering words like 'Betrayer', 'Failure', 'Disgrace' and much more were carved onto the walls and floors, namely referring to his failure as a Champion of Bahamut when he fell to Tiamat. There had to be some clues to where everyone went, or else he's looting the place and take the next plane to America and hone his abilities. That was, if the planes were still working in this run down nation at the moment.

He found a tattered journal, worn out in what appeared to be months as he opened the book and looked to the last entry.

The Champion had fallen; he had betrayed Lord Bahamut and led to his death. While a few remain faithful the brat will redeem Bahamut's legacy, we shall return hope to put the Lord to rest and begin an all-out attack against Tiamat before it gets worse. If I ever met that blasted traitor ever again, I'll kill him myself.

"So much for Bahamut's army," Naruto grumbled as he tossed the journal aside and began looting the mansion. The few gold and silver coins he found would be useful as he found some clothes in his old room that were still there. Donning his school uniform and trademark coat he had cherished, he recalled one last thing to do. "Let's see how the kids are doing." He told himself with a smile.

*Shana*

Shana bit into her food as she looked up from the table; Tiamat was eating as well, but was keeping a good distance from her Champion after the incident and did not trust her at all. "Now you know why I don't like it when people besides me try to harm my brother." She said out of the blue as Tiamat nodded her head. "Understood, I'm terribly sorry if I went beyond my boundaries with him." Tiamat responded, her memories of what Shana did as Iris Soul still in effect. She wanted those memories purged from her mind, they were too traumatizing for her.

"Speaking of your brother, my men had reported to me that he had left the mansion my brother stayed in and with a new set of clothes. He's heading into town for some reason. Of course, they're keeping their distances for now. Most of Japan is still fighting back and evacuating their people." Tiamat told her as Shana blinked. "Go into town? But what's there besides…oh that's right, the orphans." She thought as she bit into her food again.

"Well, I can let him run off." Tiamat said, surprising Shana with what she said, "After all, this world will be mine sooner or later, let him have his little defiance while it still lasts. But while we're at it, I'll let you take over and rule Japan, it's been far too long since it's been ruled by an Empress has it not?" the Dragon Queen asked as Shana smiled. "Tiamat, you truly know how to please me with some new pets and toys." She said with a smile, one that made Tiamat shudder violently from experience.

*Naruto*

"I'm surprised this place is still standing…" Naruto whistled in disbelief as he looked at the orphanage. Of all the places ravaged by the chaos, the orphanage was the least damaged out of all the buildings on the block. "Maybe Bahamut put a protection ward or something on it eh?" he thought to himself as his connection with Tenryū and Naraku was cut off. He discovered they were in a state of hibernation at the time, due to being exposed to Bahamut's power and use of it, the two inner personas were resting and growing in power every day with each new experience. Sadly Naruto can't converse with them for a while as he opened the door. "I'm back…" he spoke up lamely as he walked in. The place was quiet, as if it became a ghost town in there.

He looked around the entire first floor and found nothing, checking the rooms on the second floor he found them, hiding under the beds and scared badly as he walked in. "You all alright?" he asked as Asuna tackled him, crying as he comforted her. "Thank goodness you're here, everything has been chaotic for the past six months!" the caretaker exclaimed as Naruto looked at her. The old lady was worse for wear and the kids seem to be slightly better off at the moment as he looked at them. "Pack anything you can, we're heading to America." He told them.

"But the airplanes are gone! Those dragons have destroyed every last one of them!" the old caretaker exclaimed as Naruto looked at her. "Who said anything about flying?" he asked. "We'll find a boat to take us to America, right now the western side of Japan has been taken over by the dragons, and we'll head east, to the coast. I'm sure there's a boat that could help us get there in time." He told her as the kids were excited for such a trip and were packing everything they can into bags and get ready for the long trip.

"But what about money?" she asked as Naruto merely held up a handful of gold and silver coins and handed them to her. "This'll help us in the long run." He told her.

*Shana*

"Me in charge of Japan as Empress while Tiamat's away…" Shana pondered as she was given that role and looked down at the ruined city from the tower Tiamat created as the seat of the empire. There were plagues, death, and stagnation here. People were dying and the whole place was falling apart. She had her work cut out this time. "What's the report on the diseases?" she demanded as her steward stuttered. "W-well milady, the dragons have brought an unknown disease with them from wherever they came from and has drastically harmed the civilians greatly by this sudden outbreak." He replied as Shana looked at him. "How does it spread?" she asked as the steward adjusted his glasses. "Well, mainly due to dragon's slayed by rebels, their decaying carcasses release foreign bacteria that if not treated once in the system, will start killing people left and right in a full two weeks. So far, at least 9,000 people have died of the plague and had their bodies burned to contain the disease. Right now, our top scientists you had captured alive are studying the diseases for the last three days." He explained.

"I see, how long will it take for them to start creating a serum?" she asked as the steward checked his clipboard for status updates. "I'd say another four days before they start creating an initial elixir to help combat it. Thanks to Queen Tiamat's 'generosity' of giving you all the resources you needed, we might increase the people's survival rate by 12% once the tests are done." He replied as Shana sighed. "Very well then, these people must be saved, or else I will be very angry if I find out you guys are using the resources for something else." She growled as the steward screeched in fright as he hid his face behind the clipboard. "O-Of course not my lady! We wouldn't want such a death wish now do we?!" he yelped as he recalled the rumors of what Shana did to Tiamat.

Truly a frightening girl of the highest caliber…

*Several Days Later-Naruto-*

Naruto chugged down the elixir given to him by an Officer of the Watch as the fellow orphans and caretaker did so as well as they boarded the ship. Several days of traveling to the nearest port to escape Japan was chaotic trying to find secure routes to move everyone to safety. With the plague, Tiamat's dragons, and Shana as the crowned Empress, things were hectic for Naruto. "I better start training myself once I get to America. I hear that America isn't really all that great as I hear it is from the rumors. But that doesn't mean they have things that would be useful in my ambition for revenge on Bahamut's death." He thought as the ship was prepared to set sail.

Once everyone was on board and the boat was moving, Naruto looked back at Japan with a solemn look. He would return and save this place that would be called home. Tiamat would pay for her actions, and redeem himself for failing Bahamut that fateful day. For now, fleeing to live another day was important right now, and Naruto can tell, this was going to be a long trip.
