Shana awoke from her massive king's bed, the silk curtains moving away as she sat up and yawned gently as she looked at the clock. 06:54 AM, six minutes before everything an Empress must do begins. With a snap of her fingers, the maids who were already use to this morning routine helped dressed Shana as she thanked them for the assistance and made her way to the dining table as numerous butlers brought in the morning breakfast fit for a ruler as she indulged.
Naruto was still out at sea, a detail she knew from her mental link with him as they were preparing to embrace a storm the ship he was on was capable of handling. Naruto was one who would not lose to the weather that easily, so she knew he'll be alright.
As she ate, she called for a status report on the plague that Tiamat had unknowingly brought to Japan and saw the chart of the results of the initial elixir. Initially, it was twelve percent improvement during initial release, and now, within the last three weeks, it had jumped to twenty percent. The money used to further increase the strength of the elixir was stored as she kept an eye on the amount of resources they had right now and kept an eye on the scientists she had 'hired'. She knew that humans are greedy in nature, and she had to be cautious. While she gave them the regular paycheck and daily elixir ration, she eyed the economy of the nation and saw it was below average at the moment.
It was mainly due to new management of Japan at the time, but Shana wanted to improve that when the time comes. "My Lady, our scientists are requesting additional resources to further their experiments on the disease." Spoke one Professor Takemura, lead scientist and expert on medical science. "What do you need exactly?" Shana asked as she bit into her sausage, looking at him with one eye. Usually, they would have to ask her to get certain supplies because she cannot trust them with the money. Paranoia she admits, but there are people out there dying and the rich would use it as an advantage to boost their wealth and influence.
He merely handed her the list as she took it and read it. With her current level on biology and science, she knew these materials were indeed used for medical science. "You'll have them within three days at the most." She told them as she folded the paper and handed it to the nearest butler to go and gather the materials. "Thank you very much my Lady." Takemura politely bowed with respect as he turned and walked away, back to the lab.
Once Shana finished breakfast, she had to deal with the basic routine of business; the cost of a single elixir vial. When it first came, it was for free and many people scurried to get them. But now that people are calming down as most of their lives are mainly normal (despite the dragons flying over their heads and the usual City Watch patrols), the demand for elixir is low right now as not many are experiencing heavy conditions. But some of the people are paranoid and supplies aren't cheap as the massive reservoir of elixir isn't enough. If it keeps up, they'll have to use a bootleg version just to keep up with everyone.
…On second thought, a bootleg version would be easier and cheaper for everyone, and will give time for her scientists to discover a way to make it stronger. "Get me a Yakuza leader; I want to make a business proposition with him." She ordered.
*Two Hours Later…*
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Kurosaki-san." Shana greeted from her throne as one Isshin Kurosaki who looked around, wondering why he was here. "Um…excuse me your Majesty, but why I am here?" he asked as Shana chuckled. "Isshin Kurosaki, by day you're a doctor at his home hospital and by night, leader of a yakuza gang known as the Tsukihime Guardians. Let's talk business." She told him as Isshin narrowed his eyes at the information she had. "Don't worry; it will be quite helpful for you and your family with income." She assured as she knew he was aware that she had all her information on him down to the spot.
"…What do you need?" he submitted, not out of fear of Shana, but fear for his family. "Simple, I want you to sell a bootleg version of my elixir." She replied, causing Isshin to blink several times at the very straightforward answer. "…Huh?" he asked blankly. "With the strength of Japan's economy right now and the price of the ingredients needed to create the elixir, the whole place would be overrun by the plague. Right now, selling a bootleg version should minimize the damage until we can make a stronger one." She explained.
"But what's in it for me?" he asked as Shana looked at him square in the eye without fear. "At the start, you will only get 10 percent of the profits, but if you impress me enough, I'll increase it the more successful you are on your end. Maximum is 45 percent." She stated as Isshin nearly dropped his jaw, because people are desperate for the elixir, one can sell a lot and earn just as much cash. It could help his wife and kids and keep them safe. "…You sold me. What do I have to do?" he asked as Shana smirked on the inside.
*A week later*
"Now that's quite the amount of money." Shana muttered in shock as Isshin sold more than she expected. 2,500 yen a vial, and Isshin had sold nearly ten thousand each day. The total sales of every elixir came up to 69,035 vials sold, which was probably 172,587,500 yen! The man definitely earned his 10 percent share, and she was a ruler of her word. Would be bad to get on your royal subjects' bad sides now wouldn't it? As she sent the 10 percent to Isshin via check as payment; the rest was to use to develop a stronger elixir.
Shana rubbed her forehead in annoyance; it was thanks to the dragons of Tiamat's broods that were spreading this disease in the first place. She was given a dying nation to watch, but she will do her best to save as many lives as she can. From what she's heard from the Dragon Queen, she's busy trying to take over Vietnam, and Korea. Once Tiamat has a strong hold on those areas, she'll begin invading China and then other smaller countries and nations. Shana will have to pray that her brother gets help, because she has a feeling that the survivors of Bahamut's Army isn't in Japan anymore.
*California: Long Beach-USA-*
"This place reeks of drugs, alcohol, sex, fear, and blood." Naruto thought as the ship crashed onto the beach as the various officers and ambulances were handling people. It was expected of them to know where they were landing, and were going to take them all to a hastily made camp settlement. There was no way he'll stay in some camp and become an exhibit for people to gawk at. This was a dangerous place, if there was anything like the yakuza of Japan, and then there must be a series of gangs out there. They'll harass the Japanese in secret while claiming more territory, and probably do much more. "How about taking over the gangs, unite them under one leader?" Tenryū suggested as Naruto mentally raised a brow. "It's logical that the weak will serve the strong to become stronger. You are a unique being, one that can take over and keep these people safe, have enough food to survive, clothes to keep themselves warm, a better home." The Heavenly Dragon reasoned as Naruto nodded his head at that.
"But first we must deal with the Americans. I have a feeling these men are not quite the honorable type." Naraku added in as an officer noticed Naruto and his sword and gun. "Kid, I'm going to have to confiscate those. Just give them to me and join the others." The officer told him as Naruto looked at him. "Forget it Jim, he probably only speaks Japanese like the rest of these guys. Just take them and go." Another officer replied as Naruto narrowed his eyes. "Touch me, and you'll die." Naruto growled out, in perfect English, much to the surprise of the two officers as Naruto's hands were flexing. Jim was used to many things here in Long Beach when it comes to gangs fighting over territory, dealing with drug dealers, and the occasional murder investigation. But this kid was sending off a dangerous vibe right now that made him want to run.
"Sorry, just following protocols…" he apologized as he cautiously walked up. He noticed Naruto's hand on the handles of his gun and sword and slowly took a step back. "Look, I'll just keep them somewhere safe until everyone is settled down. Once every protocol is done and over with, I'll try and speak with my boss with what to do with your weapons. For everyone's safety please…" he begged as Naruto looked at Jim in the eye. "I remember your name and face Jimmy, I'll surrender them now. But, I'll want them back as soon as possible if there's an OK from your boss." Naruto replied, handing his weapons over to Jim who smiled and nodded his head as he walked off with them.
"You should get to know your surroundings first. Once you do, start taking over starting with the smallest ones, and then work your way up to the big ones." Naraku suggested as Naruto walked to where the orphans and the caretaker were. He was in for a war in a city, and it would be for control of the entire territory of a new world.
