-Chapter Two-

-Skylar's P.O.V-

"There" I hummed, patting down the bandaged on my cheek before dragging my hand down my face while releasing a heavy sigh. "Hasn't even been a full day yet and already I'm tired, having this sudden amount of responsibly shoved onto me is tiring" I muttered, walking back out onto deck only to have a sweat drop appear on my head as I noticed Nami and Sanji scowling a depressed Zoro. Luffy was rolling around on the grassy deck, strings of meows escaping passed his lips as if he was laughing. Which he probably was.

The others were still doing their own thing, whether it be lazing around or just calmly watching the scene going on around them. My attention was dragged downwards towards my pants leg when I felt something tugging on it. "Hey there, Chopper, what's wrong?" I asked, squatting down when I noticed that the brown ball of fur was pulling on my pants leg with his teeth. He gave me a squeaky meow and stared up at me with his wide, glossy doe-like eyes. Though I couldn't speak cat, it was clear that as a doctor and friend he was worried.

"Aw, you worried about me? Don't be, see it's alright, nothing to worry about" I reassured the animal, smiling down at him as I pointed at the bandages on my face. Gently scooping him up, I petted the top of his head while walking over to Robin's lawn chair, sitting the ball of fluff down beside her. Giving her head a small pat as well when she looked up at me and calmly meowed. "Nami, Sanji, Zoro" I said, walking over to the three, placing my hands on my hips I watched as Nami and Sanji ceased in their hissing to stare up at me. Before slowly backing away from the sadden moss colored feline.

"Zoro" I smiled, quick to scoop him up in my arms as he continued to avoid looking at me. Almost looking like he was pouting now as he turned his head to the side. "Come on, Mr. Grumpy Pants, don't go beating yourself up over something that's my fault" I cooed, hugging him close and pressing a gentle kiss to the top of his head. Giggling the second he started to purr and rub the top of his head underneath my chin as if enjoying the attention that he was getting. "Now, all of you need to behave while I work on getting us all to safety" I sternly said, looking around at the others as I sat Zoro down and went back to work on navigating.

-Later-

Just as the sun was starting to set for the day, I loudly yawned, tiredly rubbing my eyes as I listened to Luffy's loud meowing and my own stomach growling. "Time to eat" I muttered, moving away from the steering wheel and towards the kitchen door, watching as the others immediately started to follow as soon as they watched me push the wooden door open. As soon as they were in, I found myself having to think of what I could give them that wouldn't cause any harm. Can they still eat normally or am I going have to feed them a normal cat's diet? I didn't know.

"Sorry, this is the best I can do" I sheepishly smiled as I sat down some bowls of meat and water, knowing that at least Luffy would be happy with the food choice. I scratched the back of my head as both Robin and Zoro seemed to meow up at me while the others looked to be trying to fight Luffy off from eating their share of the meal. "I know, I know, water isn't really your twos first choice in a drink. But, I don't think coffee or alcohol is exactly healthy for a cat" I sighed, thankful that Robin didn't try to push the matter. But, Zoro continued to meow, looking determined to get himself some booze. "No" I deadpanned, this interaction seemed to go back and forth as I got to work in preparing myself a small sandwich and some coffee.

I sat down at the table, huffing as I ran my fingers through my hair and just listened to the others as they ate, meowing at each other soon in a conversation that I couldn't participate in. I wonder what they were talking about.

-Everyone's P.O.V-

"Luffy, you ate all of the damn meat! We hardly got any!" Sanji snapped as both he and Nami scowled the raven-haired feline.

"What? I was hungry" Luffy tilted his head in confusion, not understanding why the two were frustrated with him. Zoro only rolled his one good eye before looking over towards the brunette that barely even showed interest in her own food. She took small bites and would occasionally take a sip of the coffee—which she barely drank in the first place—she had made for herself. She looked to be almost lost in thought, her eyes holding a far-off look before she hummed when the moss colored cat jumped onto her lap.

"Hey, you" Skylar smiled a little, gently petting the top of Zoro's head as he curled up into her lap, purring as he closed his eye. Skylar's smile deflated a little as she got back to thinking, directing her attention forward and ignoring everything around her. Robin curiously watched the two, smiling before she curiously started to wonder something. Closing her eyes, she lowly muttered to herself, peeking an eye open to watch as a delicate human arm sprouted out of the back of the brunette's chair, proving what it was she was thinking. Before anyone could spot the arm, it disappeared into nothing but flower petals.

"Alright, time for bed" the swordswoman suddenly said, snapping out of her daze as she lifted Zoro up the minute she realized he had fallen asleep on her lap. Quietly she leads them all towards the girls' room, already concluding that it would be best if they'd all stick together. Propping the door opened, she watched as Nami and Robin hopped up onto their own beds while the guys all piled up onto the brunette's bed. Skylar hummed, helping Chopper the minute she saw him struggling to get up on the bed while also sitting Zoro down on top of the pillow, giving his head a small pat before looking at the others. "I'm going to need to keep watch up in the crow's nest, but then I won't be able to hear any of you if something goes wrong…" she trailed off, biting her lip in worry at this realization.

"Maybe I can assist" Skylar flinched upon hearing Robin's delicate voice before quickly turning her head in the direction of the voice only to jump back in slight surprise at the mouth that had sprouted on the wall.

"Wow, so does this mean that your Devil Fruit powers still work?" Skylar questioned, walking closer to the mouth in curiosity while two blue eyes sprouted on the wall as well, creating a face.

"It seems so, if something goes wrong then I can easily tell you while you're up in the crow's nest" Robin said, chuckling as she watched the brunette shift around, looking a little uncomfortable with the disembodied lips and eyes.

"Alright" the swordswoman nodded before finally leaving the room.

"Robin, if you can use your Devil Fruit powers, does that mean that the others can too?" Nami curiously asked the minute the cats found themselves alone. All of them expect Zoro seemed to be awake still, the moss colored cat calmly snoozing the night away as he rolled around lightly on the brunette's pillow. Enjoying how it smelled just like her.

"Really? Let me try!" Luffy excitedly exclaimed before laughing as he suddenly stretched his tail all the way from the bed towards the dresser, picking up a pen and bringing it back towards him. "Cool!" he laughed.

"Oh! Let me try!" Chopper smiled before his body puffed up into an even bigger fluff ball, causing Nami and Robin to laugh a little. Soon everyone directed their attention towards Brook, patiently waiting to see what he was going to do only to be greeted by the raven-haired cat shaking his head.

"Even though it does sound fun, I don't feel the need to have my soul exit from my body" he told them all with a smile which caused Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper to loudly whine as they all three pouted. Franky just stared, a certain realization slowly hitting him as he noted how his body lacked any metal parts. Instead, he just looked like a normal cat with blue fur. The same went with Brook who, instead of looking like a skeleton of a cat, was just a living breathing animal with fur and organs. It made him ponder as he looked at the others, noting how Zoro and Luffy kept their scars and Chopper kept his blue nose.

"Franky, is something a matter?" Robin calmly asked the minute she spotted the frown on the blue cat's face.

"No" Franky slowly shook his head, still in thought.

-Skylar's P.O.V-

"Not even the first day and I'm already stressed out" I muttered, staring out the window of the crow's nest and out towards the calm sea. The only thing keeping me awake was the caffeinated drink in my hand, I had no doubt I'll be drinking the whole pot by the end of the night. I pressed my forehead against the cool surface of the glass, watching the stars for a few seconds before looking back down at the calm ocean waves. "Hopefully we'll get you all back to normal before any of you get the chance to go into heat" I shivered at the thought, knowing just how violent cats can get sometimes during that time. "I do not need to deal with any of that."

It was silent for a few minutes as I continued to keep watch, bored out of my mind and not liking how lonely it felt. Normally there was always some form of noise on the ship happening during this time of night—mainly Luffy's snores—and it was never truly silent. "I hope we reach land soon" I tiredly muttered, slowly feeling my eyes start to droop downwards and before long my breathing slowly started to slow down, ready to just fall asleep. "Shit! Got to stay awake, got to stay awake" I flinched, straightening my spine out and chugging the rest of my coffee in hopes it would kick in soon. This was going to be a long night.
