Bad Idea
A/N: I'm so sorry for taking so long to update this. I've been having a lot of other shit to do, and then I was on a Fairy Tail kick so I was paying more attention to that fic, then I was back on an FMA kick but with another fic that isn't online yet. I'll try to update all of my fics at least once before next year, but shit happens so I don't know if I'll be able to. Hopefully I can. If I am able to do that, I might even be able to type up some of my other FMA fic.
Thanks for all of the reviews and favorites and all that. Much love to you all, especially since it's been so long, and HAPPY FMA DAY!
Chapter 13: Back in Central
"We have to report to the colonel first, so where do you want to meet afterwards," Edward asked Alice just after stepping off of the train with her and Alphonse.
"Just go to the hotel. I'll meet you there later," Alice replied.
"Fine," Edward said.
"We'll see you later," Alphonse said in his usual slightly cheerful tone as he and his brother walked away.
Alice disappeared before they could look back.
"Brother, you should be nicer to Ali. She's helping us get our bodies back," Alphonse said to Edward while walking out of the train station.
"Yeah yeah," Edward annoyedly said.
"You're just as mean to her as you are to Winry," Al said with a smirk. "Do you like her?"
"Sh-Shut up," Ed yelled, trying not to blush. "Besides, she's not helping us; she's using us for research."
"Brother," Alphonse said in a warning tone.
When they arrive at Central Command, the two brothers went to see General Mustang, but when they arrived at his office, Only Breda and Fury were there.
"Hey, it's Ed and Al," Breda said with a sandwich in his mouth.
Fury looked up from the radio that he was working on and smiled. "Hey guys!"
"Hey," Al said.
"Where's the Colonel," Ed asked.
"Everyone went out for lunch," Fury said, going back to fixing his radio.
"Great," Ed said with a frown.
"You guys can wait here if you want," Fury replied.
"Yeah, they should be back in thirty minutes or so," Breda said.
"We'll just come back later," Ed said. "We have to drop our stuff off at the hotel anyways."
"Alright, we'll let them know that you're coming back, if they get here before you," Fury said.
"Thanks," Alphonse said before he and his brother left.
Alice snuck into Solf's empty apartment and left her bags before walking to a restaurant for lunch.
"Ali," a familiar voice said from behind her.
She turned around and saw Roy walking towards her. "Oh, hey Roy."
"Did you leave the Elrics already," he asked.
"No," Alice replied. "They actually went to see you, but I guess they'll be waiting."
"Ah," Roy said, "would you like to join me for lunch?"
"If you've got enough money, sure," she responded.
Roy smirked. "Then let's go. I know a great restaurant near by." He held out his arm for her.
Alice held on to his arm. "Lead the way."
The two walked to a small restaurant and sat at a table outside. After ordering drinks, Roy looked at her and said, "So, did anything interesting happen on your trip?"
"Not really," Alice replied. "I just spent time with some old friends."
"Anyone I know," he asked.
"Not that I know of," she said.
"Well, catching up with old friends is always fun," he responded. "Speaking of which, where you on your way to find Lieutenant Hawkeye?"
"No, I was just going out for lunch," she said while looking at the menu.
"Then it's a good thing I found you," Roy said with a small chuckle.
"I suppose so," Alice replied, glancing up at him.
When the waiter came back, Roy ordered his usual, and Ali ordered almost everything on the menu.
"Wow, you really weren't kidding about me needing a lot of money for this," Roy said, laughing.
"It's too late for you to turn back now," Alice said with a smirk. "Anyways, how have things been here?"
"It's been pretty calm lately, since the Elrics and Scar weren't here to cause trouble."
She laughed. "That sounds about right."
After lunch, they walked around for a while, just talking and wasting time until Roy had to go back to work.
"So," he said with a smirk, "will you free tonight?"
"I'm never free," Alice replied. "That lunch bill should've told you that."
"Yeah," Roy said and laughed. "I meant, are you busy tonight?"
"That depends." She smirked at him. "What do you have in mind?"
"I thought we could go get drinks; I'm not sure that I have enough for dinner and drinks." He chuckled again.
"I'll call you if I'm available for drinks tonight," Alice said before kissing his cheek. "Good luck with work, Colonel." With that, she walked away.
Roy stood there for a moment, smirking as he watched her walk away. When she was out of sight, he walked back to work.
"You seem cheerful," Breda said when Roy walked in.
"Got another hot date," Jean asked with a smirk.
"Maybe," Roy replied before going to his private office.
"Back to work," said Riza, who had arrived a few minutes before Roy.
