Chapter 16
Sweet Revenge
The night before, Angel had run down the stairs at Candy's house and out the front door. Joshua had followed her to his truck and asked what the hell happened. He'd heard Deon speaking to his wife but couldn't make out what he'd said. As they turn into the yard of Ivey Mansion Angel firmed her lips and wipes her tears away. When she told him how Deon blamed her Joshua was furious. It was probably a good thing they had left the house before he found out. He had a good mind to go back over there and punch the fucker in his damn mouth. As A band it was good they had some off time, because right now with the crazy shit that keeps flying out of Deon's mouth he would be wearing his guitar if they would have had session tonight.
Angel looked at her husband. "Deon had a point; all of you warned me in your own ways about Evie. I didn't listen. Evie asked could Roman come I told her no, she was angry she threatened not to come I should have left it at that." Angel breaks down again and goes to leave the truck. Joshua jumps out and goes to her door pulling her into his embrace telling her over and over it's not her fault. They start walking towards the house when a more upsetting thought hits her. "That may not be my fault, but I just told Candy that Evie wouldn't be there it's not my party. I don't have a clue who would be there I was just going off the fact that my father, though quiet about it really doesn't like Evie. What if he invited her? This time it's not an industry party he wouldn't let me near his guest list, and I'm not too sure I should be anyway, but this I can fix. I just have to find out if Evie was invited I'll ask dad and tell him why I'm asking. I can't ask Evie if she was on the list then I'm screwed."
Joshua knew that Jonathon had invited Evie because of the true nature of the party. "I know who is on the guest list. Evie was invited and so was Candy because both of them are your friends." she winced "Dad started putting the party list together a few weeks ago. He was going to turn it into an industry party but since LEGNA Grandville is not finished he turned it into a house warming party." Angel tells him then now she would be seen as a liar not only by Candy but by Deon as well. "No I'll talk to Candy, Evie was just as surprised that Roman was there as anyone was." Angel says she hoped he was right but maybe she should warn Candy anyway.
Roman was a free man for now. Evie was a great scapegoat he'd used her laptop to put Candy's pic he'd taken on her profile. Candy's passcodes didn't change or the origin of them. He hated typing the bass player's name but he'd been right. Once her passcode for everything was Roman's Girl now the passcode was shorter and said De0nsGirl. He attached the picture to her Myspace, her Facebook and even her Music Nation account. His little Evie provided the funds to bail him out. She was scared that his legal trouble would be a nail in the coffin of his career. They had a meeting with Vince and the board in two days. Evie told him a very interesting secret that she didn't have the entire 15 grand to get him released and had barrowed 5 grand of it he had promised he would pay her back he would have said anything thing to get out of that place. She kept hounding him and he snapped and told her that his accounts for whatever reason were frozen. She said she had to get that money back to where she got it from over the weekend. He asked where she had borrowed the money. Come to find out that she had taken the money out of an account. That Angel used to give her access to when she would purchase advertising for Angelic Impression. Roman smiled and told her well she could tell Angel the truth or she could hope she didn't notice. She said she thought it was going be returned so she thought she would have plenty of time to replace it before start of business Monday morning. He offered to tell Angel he would pay her back since she had inadvertently helped him make bail. He'd never seen Evie so upset. She screamed at him that he was ruining her friendship him and his little blonde.
He told her to watch her mouth. She exploded again and it wasn't just her rich girl problems as he had dubbed her second limo story. She said her friendship was already on pins and needles because of her own past fuck ups. Now she had the pleasure of trying to explain if Angel ever spoke to her again, why he had showed up to a wedding he was not invited to. He reminded her that she did give him the address. She lost her mind at that point, and threw a plant at his head screaming that she told him because she didn't want to hide her whereabouts from her mate. She said that was not her inviting him and he knew that. He hit her back verbally with the fact that she had stolen money out of her friend's account, so she was in it just as deep. His blow broke up the fight really quick, she broke down crying that she was trying to help him and he was throwing it in her face. He shrugged and told her he would have got out soon, but who was he to turn down a chance to get out before the second weekend was up. She runs from her own house saying she had to try to get money from her parents so she could at the very least not add theft to her list of fuck ups. He'd spent a week and a half in custody and he found out some of those days didn't count, because the records department had to send back the booking sheet for errors. 4 of the 12 days were a crafty fuck up dealing with Federals and their red tape process his lawyer wasn't let anywhere near him until last Monday. He now sat in Evie's home with his feet up. She'd been so upset it was kind of cute, usually he didn't see a lot of emotion from her. Evie usually gave him a blank look like he could have been anyone and kept quiet. He would help her out of this jam there was no way she was going to replace the money before, he looks at his watch it was midnight, this morning. He Googles Angela Ivey his phone lit up with Page after page of classification and group shots and he landed on one of Angel and Candy. He touches Candy's picture getting lost in his memories of her words whether she meant them or not it was nice to hear them. Somewhere inside of him he knew she still loved him. She wasn't that great of a liar. Losing focus on his original task at hand he goes to check on his handy work and almost drops his phone when he sees that all of Candy Bar's accounts were deleted. He goes through a back door program just in case she had found him on the different sites and blocked him no she had deleted her fucking accounts or her bass player did. Angel would have to wait he had to find out where Candy's head was at. He gets up and paces the long living room like a caged cat. He had a few friends in some pretty low places. If the bass player was what was standing in the way of him having Candy back and pushing her hand to press charges on him, then maybe it was time for the bass player to disappear. Since the charges were now part of the case and there where pictures and a doctor's work up sheet along with her recorded testimony done, he knew she could not just drop the charges but something had to be done. An idea hit him he hadn't done this since his early 20s right after his relationship with his Candy Bar fell apart at his own hands. He calls Evie and tells her to bring his car back he had a way to get the money back into Angel's account.
Evie pulls up and comes back in the house Roman tells her they were heading to his friend's house. She says fine and gets in the passenger seat and locks her door. Roman walks out gets in the driver's seat. "I'm doing this for you I just want you to know this." She nods and stares at him that blank look was back.
As he pulls out of her driveway Evie wonders where he is taking her. What friend she trusted him but he had tarnished her trust before with showing up at Angel's wedding and he'd come in after being released and was rough with her. He wasn't as rough as the dining room table but she could tell if she had not of stopped fighting him he would have hurt her. She looks over at him as he merges on to the highway. "Are you sure your friend will help us?" The look he through her stopped her heart for a second.
"You got a better idea, than by all means lead us to the 5 grand you stole. Other than that shut up." She closed her mouth and her stare focused out the side window. Right now he wanted her quiet. He heads into Grandville North. One of his old contacts would have the money. He looks at her attire it would have to pass for tonight.
He pulls up in front of the Rabinenvitch updated house. "Stay here I'll be right back." Kyle Rabinenvitch liked women plain and simple. When he'd come back into this area to track down his Candy Bar. He'd paid the guy a visit and Kyle hadn't changed a bit, he wanted to find his daughter he had a new family but Candy was the one that got away. The night he had met up with the old man he had reintroduced Roman to the world he had once been a part of before fame. Roman walks up to the front door and knocks. The door opens and Roman can't believe what he sees in front of him. The youngest girl lay on the couch asleep. Kyle was on the floor looking up into the business end of a gun. His middle girl must have caught him because he looked guilty. Roman quickly rushes the woman from behind. The gun goes off the woman hit the ground and is now pinned under him. He takes it out of her stunned hand and tucks in between her shoulder blades. With a breathless growl he says "Mind on telling me why you think you're a goddess deciding whether he lives or dies?"
"He fucking raped my little sister." Diamond says as she stays still when the wrestler put the gun to her flesh above the neck line of her shirt. She looks up at Passion who didn't even stir when the gun went off.
Roman knew the guy had a thing for woman he was a part of an exclusive club of gentlemen that weren't so gentle when it came to the opposite sex, but hell his own daughter? "Kyle what the hell is going on?" The girl underneath him draws in to say something he presses the gun into her skin a little harder. His voice grew emotionless "I want to hear it from him." The girl that was asleep on the couch was still asleep that seemed off somehow. Kyle gets to his feet and tells him what happened.
The gun is pressed harder into Diamond's upper back. Her father says that she and Passion her sister, was fighting and he came to break it up and the next thing he knew a gun was pointed at his chest. He was lucky his friend here had probably saved his life from his own child. He was lying on her, her own father was lying on her. "He's L…" she says. The brute on top of her whispers in her ear that if she says one word he would shoot her and her mother. That would leave just her little sister to defend herself from both of them. She nods, her world was turned upside down her father who she loved with all of her heart had been caught red handed she knew what she saw. The man had threatened to end her and her mother and her father the fearless warrior she once admired had said nothing. The Wrestler asked would she like to tell on her father she shakes her head no with no hesitation. He withdraws the gun from her skin she can still feel where it was. He pats her cheek and tells her good girl. Like she was a puppy, not a well-respected nurse she felt many emotions the fear and humiliation outweighed the anger but it was there burning her tongue and her blood ran with revenge as it pumped in her ears like the drums of battle. She wanted to run, to fight, to kill the man that had hurt her sister, and the one that lay atop of her pressing her into the rug. As far as she was concerned she had one sister and her mother this man she used to lovingly call father, was dirt at her feet and if she ever got the chance she would use him as potting soul. NO she wouldn't tell. Diamond knew the score. Diamond had worked in Grandville North Memorial before getting accepted into another world at Sheldon Medical Center. Kyle was well respected in this little sub town of Grandville North all the men in town knew him, all the older women loved him, and gave him shy smiles when her mother wasn't looking. Her mother was out of town promoting her dance school she'd be gone for another week. Her broken hearted reverie had cocooned her. She hardly realized the man was no longer covering her. When she opened her eyes and breathed out the pressure of his body was gone. Without a goodbye they had left. She looked at where her sister lay on the sofa. Diamond gets to her knees and crawls over and sits by her sister stroking the younger girl's damp dirty blond hair out of her face. She couldn't look down where her sister had on no bottoms. Her throat felt raw as she said her sister's name "Passion. Passion, wake up. He's gone." her sister opened her eyes and closed them tight. "
Passion opened her eyes as her voice sounded raw even to her own ears "I couldn't get him off of me. You were at work?" Her daddy had told her that she came into his world alone and would soon leave the same way If she didn't submit to him after the begging, pleading and, screaming didn't work he forced himself into her and the pain made her world turn black. She hated him for waking her by breathing into her mouth. The darkness was near she could reach out and touch it. It was so near only to be ripped away by more pain. A tremble runs the length of her small body. The involuntary movement of her muscles caused her to welcome the darkness that surrounded her vision, and stole her breath in a soundless cry. The first time she was afraid it took her quickly this time it lingered. The last thing she hears is her sister leaving her speaking to someone the darkness claimed her once more.
When Passion spoke she sounded dazed had the fucker drugged her? Her baby sister shivered and her mouth opened as if to scream but no sound escaped. She spoke to her sister again but the young girl didn't speak as her usually very doe like blue eyes hooded. What had Diamond calling her boss on his personal mobile was the fact that her sister was bleeding and her damn lips were turning blue. She begged him to answer the phone when she heard his voice the whole nightmare was ripped from her lips, as she told Lucas Sheldon Jr. everything from walking in on her father thrusting in to her little sister, the gun, the guy that threatened her, everything and ended with how she knew if she called 911 at her current location here in Grandville North her sister would die. His voice snapped out orders this was what she needed, she followed his orders until she confirmed that Passion stopped the little breaths she was taking her baby sister wasn't breathing at all. He told her in his firm tone to get it together and that he was sending his med crew to help her. She starts CPR with her boss on the phone directing her. Finally, the crew got to the scene Diamond wanted to crumble but she stood and got out of the way. At this point she hated that she knew what was being said by the crew. The medical jargon slammed in to her every word slicing out her heart taking pieces of her. She watched for what seemed like hours. The white sheet coming up in slow motion covering her sister's face seemed to bring all of her emotion further to the surface. She tries to rip the sheet away a man stopped her "STOP! She has to make it. You have to beat him PASSION YOU HAVE TO." Her boyfriend a part of the med crew grabbed her and pulled her off the gurney away from her sister. He told her Passion was gone that she had lost to much blood the Cornier had just pronounced her dead and that's when her anger flared and Diamond decked him sending him flying into another crew member, and charged out of the house seeing red. Kyle Rabinenvitch would die by her hands.
Roman doubted Kyle's story he'd come to offer a gift and get the money. The girl on the couch was a kid, she was half naked from the waist down. As he got back into the driver's seat Evie asked him what was wrong and what took him so long. An idea resurfaced. "He owes me and I aim to collect. You'll have your money." He peels away from the curb. That circus wasn't what he wanted to see. It made him think of why Kyle had named Candy the one that got away, his Candy Bar. Had she got away or had he. Rage boiled in his blood at the mere thought of Candy beneath Kyle. Back in high school when they were together at first he noticed her submissive side, he'd stalked her and claimed her mind body and soul. She followed his lead he wasn't her first he knew that, but he hoped that was because she was a hot little doe eyed blonde. The other thought made him want to puke. His original plan was to tell Kyle the information he wanted like breath, he wanted to know where Candy was. Roman after seeing what he had, he couldn't. Not even he could subject her to what he just saw. She would submit she'd stop moving the look in her eyes made you think the lights were on by no one was home sort of speak. His best decryption of it was she was on auto pilot she breathed and that was about it. He never let her stay like that for long because it scared the hell out of him. In his club when a girl took on that look for too long one of two things was running through that head of theirs, revenge or total submission. To gain Candy's total submission would not be what he ever wanted, she would depend on him to tell her everything she was to do, and he liked her spark. He knew he didn't deserve Candy she deserved way more than his sorry ass he'd dumped her and left her and now he wanted her back. Evie breaks his inner verbal ass kicking and begs him to slow down, he glanced down at the speedometer and he was doing 90 on a side street. Easing off the gas he cut a corner stopped the car. Breathing through his nose he had brought her as backup payment. He was a sick fuck. Was he no better than Kyle? "Get out NOW. Whilst you still can." Evie stared at him and begged him not to do this again.
The desperation in his tone speared her. "Roman what's wrong. If your deal fell through I understand but please don't put me out like rubbish. Not out here at night because of your trick. This time I'd have no one to call on. " He was speaking more to himself than to her. "Roman, start the car and let's go home. I'll explain to Angel what I have done this is about us."
"That's where you're wrong. You are going to get out or I'll make you very sorry you stayed. If you stay, you won't want an us." He points between them. "I'll only warn you once more Get OUT now." she stammers at his harsh tone he tried but now she was pissing him off. "Game over" he turns the key and speeds down the street toward the club. He had given her a warning that was much more than he ever gave Candy.
Diamond Rabinenvitch set in her car, the rain had come it was like the sky seemed to be lamenting for her sister, all she felt was sorrow and anger her anger was almost tangible. She'd never stalked anyone but Kyle had a very old car it was a Ford Mustang but it was a 1988 mint condition Mustang GT. He loved that car. She wondered did he fuck in his boss car. She eyed the BMW that sped and parked near the Ford. Cocking her head to the side she watched as the fucker that held her down and prevented her from blowing away Kyle took his little dark haired tramp in to the building that Kyle had entered.
As his call is dropped Luke throws his paperweight across his office. He'd heard too much the girl had passed, he thought of Diamond he remembered her because she was a great Phlebotomists she could draw blood from children and have them not flinch. Her sister had come with her to the company picnic. A quiet girl with a happy disposition. Diamond's story was one he knew too well he'd been a doctor and he'd been around his father's practice for as long as he could remember. The thought that someone could do that too their own offspring made him ill. A lot of good he had been the girl had died. What was the fucking point of being number one amongst your peers when you couldn't save a child? He could patch up adults but when his profession needed him the most he had failed. He had lost patients before but not a child. It more than stung. He had saw the little girl weeks before to get a fucking flu shot. To think of her light fading forever because her father had ruptured her intestine while trying to fuck her brains out made him want to punch something. He called his father and he was asleep he called Trent that was a mistake. Trent verbally punched him. Telling him he was out of touch he guessed he was. It was pointed out again that Luke didn't have a practice or even a clinic in Grandville North. "I'll fix that soon" Trent told him it was kind of too late. Anger briefly surged through the depression. "What do you want from me?"
Trent sat back in his office chair in his home office with his feet up. "I don't want anything from you. Isn't that how you like it? Isn't that the bread and butter of our friendship? I wouldn't dream of asking you for a damn thing Luke. You asked me a question and I answered, I've never bullshitted you or pulled any punches why would I start now? You want me to tell you it will be better in the morning, the girl is still dead. Did you go to the house?" Luke said no and before he could continue Trent pounced "no of course not you sat on the fat end of your ass in your high tech office, and yelled at a nurse that was probably in meltdown mode. I think from what you have said she would be ready for the funny farm and you expected to save the girl without even looking. That's not skill Luke, that's cockiness. The girl was scared to call 911 because of your belief that Grandville Memorial are all not on your level. I work with that network am I not good enough to help the sick? If your loyal employee had of called the police earlier, that girl would have still been alive. When was the last time you set foot in Granville North Luke?" Luke's answer of 3 years spoke for itself. "You write off a whole network because of where it is." Luke spoke of how they had nearly killed one of his patients. "Luke, face it you've changed and not for the better just because a hospital doesn't bear your last name doesn't make it trash. Here is a scenario to think about, I can't be in your network because of the fact that I am a doctor in Granville Memorial? If I were bleeding out in front of your hospital would you even stop to try to treat me, or walk over my dying body? Oh I know you would send my carcass 45 minutes away to my network right? Too late just like the little girl I'm dead." Luke tells him that mirrors nothing he has ever done. "Oh I seem to recall a patient being sent to Grandville North with a concussion at night. The name Vivian Arrow ring any bells, she said you were there when she was getting her head kicked in. I'll take your silence as she was telling truth, she was less than 5 minutes away from the Sheldon Network were your golden beds full that night doctor perfect? Luke said fuck him and hung up. Trent smiled and put his phone on charge. That felt too good. What was happening to him he had never went after Luke like that before. That girl's death wasn't Luke's fault he called the doctor back to apologize. He instantly got voice mail and hung up. He went to bed thinking about the guy he couldn't save. His father was in a coma had been for about 6 years he had pulled the plug two days ago. The underground was his family now and he'd probably just lost Luke as a friend.
Luke sat in his office until day break. Sophie called him he answered. "Sheldon" Hearing his own voice he tried to sound normal. His head hurt he'd found every record he had on Passion Rabinenvitch. He read his med team's report and wondered for the thousandth time if he were there would it have made a difference. The report said her blood was already cooling when they arrived. Rubbing the grit from his eyes and turning off his screen he asks. "What's up"
"What's up yourself you didn't show for dinner?" He sounded off. Sophie was worried about her man he worked himself to the bone and sometimes forgot he has a home. She'd gone to his place and cooked and waited it was now in his fridge and she was on her way home. He apologized after a small curse. "Luke what's wrong?" and old insecurity tingled in the back of her mind. His network had no major accidents in the area last night, was he distancing himself? Shaking her head as she rode in the limo driven by Andrew she reaches her home. "Do you want me to come there you sound funny and I don't mean haha?"
He raises his head at her tone. "NO go home Sophie stay safe. I'm above ground which is more than I can say for. I lost a child last night."
"Oh my god Luke I'm sorry to hear that." Sophie nods at Andrew and goes in the house. She had no clue what to say she wasn't a doctor, but she knew the bite of defeat. "I'm sure you did all you could." His answer of no shocked her. He tells her he should have been there but thought he could talk his employee through until the med team got there. "Why didn't she just call the police? Why would she call you first if it was that serious?" He claimed that was his fault. "Luke you're not making any sense. When you didn't show I checked the medical all calls and nothing really too bad happened in this area. Your Network Rolling med crew would have been there before you would have right?"
He already got into it with Trent and he wasn't going to push her away, this is why he had not called her last night. He didn't mean to stand her up, but he couldn't leave this case alone. "Sophie I'm sorry I can't talk about this right now. I'm about half out it as it is, and I've already got my butt chewed out about how my arrogance helped snuff out a life. If I had of not been so hard on Grandville Memorial" Sophie stops him right there and says that place tried to kill her father. "Yes, but that girl would be alive this morning. My fucking prejudice killed that little girl. I got." He clears his throat "I got to go stay safe and get some sleep." He hung on the phone silently until she hung up. Putting his head on his desk on his folded arms like a school student he fell asleep.
Sophie goes into her office and starts going through the all calls and looking in to Grandville North press releases. She stops on a name that sprung from the page. Reading the report and taking into account who and what happened to lead to the death, of the girl with Candy's last name. She calls one of her former students of the Nana Barnett Academy. He took on working in the ME's office. By the end of their little verbal tennis match, she was armed with the situation that probably had Luke so down. He was very confident that it was his fault from the report that she had read, along with the long winded ME, she knew Luke couldn't have got there any faster. There was a warrant for the arrest of Kyle Rabinenvitch. Sophie called Andrew and told him to wait at the gate she would be going to the Center after all. The hell if she was going to let Luke put all this shit on his shoulders.
"No I'm sorry" Luke's sluggish brain replays the nightmare that had sweat running off him in waves. Looking up something had mercifully awakened him stopping the images and the sound of Diamond's anger directed at him. Rubbing his eyes he looks up and Sophie stood at the door to his office. Getting to his feet he walks over to her pulling her into a hug. "I asked you to stay home." She started to pull back to speak he goes on to say as he holds her in place, "but I'm glad you're here." He said into her hair. "I've run every scenario and the only thing that keeps coming up that I don't have is a suggested time for..." He let's go was he really going to start breaking medical code on top of all this. He could call it consult like with his father or even Trent. Sophie is his partner in love not in business. That child was under his care. Sophie grabs the front of his shirt and pulls him back toward her. Letting himself follow her touch, she put her hands on both sides of his face and washes away the need to keep the information all within him.
"Luke, I know what happened. I looked it up and what I couldn't find online I got the information from a very reliable source. Candy's little sister was killed this blaming yourself has to stop." He says what his part in it was and how he should have went to help or told her to call the police instead of sending his team foolishly thinking he could talk someone through that. He then says Trent was right… he just stopped speaking and his body trembles he turns away and marches into his in suite bathroom. Sophie walks into the doorway. "What did Trent say?" She didn't like that Trent had made him feel more disconnected than he already did when they were searching for Paula. When Luke says what Trent said, and the points he felt he had to agree with. Sophie went from social dislike of Trent Shelly to hatred in 2 point 2 seconds. "Luke I don't know if you don't hear what you're saying or you're too close to the situation. But Trent has it in for you. I heard it when he was talking to you on speaker phone and now last night he spelled it out for you. It burns his ass every time he compares himself to you and comes up short. There is no comparison. You work longer and a lot harder to get what and where you are." When he met her eyes in the mirror and once again tried to say how Trent was right. Sophie lost it. "No he's was fucking with your head. Cut him loose before he drags you down, because god knows he's trying. One of your employees called you out of the blue and from what you said she was in a panic, your men arrived shortly after you put in the order while still on the phone with her. Your crew was near the Davenport which isn't that far away. What 3 miles from the border of town. You were here that would have put you 20 miles away. You helped how you felt you could. It wasn't arrogance. It's clear from the time frame in the ME report that the little girl was dying as you spoke to the woman? Thinking you could have saved her by driving like a bat out of hell, risking your own neck, by speeding into an area that you are not familiar with isn't even arrogance it's crazy. You feel like shit because the girl died, because you care about everyone, but honey as hard as you try, you can't be everywhere or everything to everyone. You want to know who to blame for that girl's death her fucking father that's who. The man that was supposed to protect her from wolves was the beast that killed her." A chill ran down Sophie's body.
Luke walks over and hugs Sophie to him rubbing her back. She'd given him a lot to think about. Trent had started taking pot shots at him for awards but as a joke or with a smile he'd thought of it as playful ribbing a type of pseudo sibling rivalry. Last night he can't even pin point when their conversation that was like a consult call went south. The next thing he knew he was yelling, swearing, into the phone. "I can't change what happened but I want to set up a location in Grandville North. If I do because of the structure and the bidding process Trent really will hate me, because if my bid wins Memorial would be shut down that's his network," Sophie says Trent doesn't own it a man named Dr. Paul Riddle does. "Trent had better be glad he doesn't, because they are already in trouble for 15 counts of malpractice." A snippet of Trent's rant smacked Luke in the head. Now that Luke knew who ran Memorial he knew why he felt the way he did about both locations. "This isn't arrogance professor Riddle's nick name in medical school was the butcher. His bedside manner is the equivalent of putting a pit bull in a room with a bag of bloody meat."
Sophie looks at her phone it was 6 in the morning. "Question does Candy know about this girl." Luke says he doubts it and tells Sophie that she shouldn't bring it up. Sophie shows him her news app." I won't have to her father's picture is plastered all over the news. My source says that they would have blocked it because the guy is a model Grandville North citizen that owns some raunchy little club there. So you see you sending in an outside med crew brought with them state cops you might just get this girl justice." He opens his mouth to argue. "It won't bring her back but with him behind bars he won't be able to do it to anyone else."
Hours earlier Diamond gets out of the car that her father loved. She found the gun she'd pointed at him he'd left it in his boss car. "Thanks daddy" She puts it back in her holster. He got it for her when she started working at Memorial since he refused to buy her a car and busses in Grandville North stopped running after 6pm her shift at Memorial was 3 to 11pm. When she started to work for Luke she bought her a car and started renting an apartment in Grandville South on the Sheldon Medical Center campus. As she sits in her car her phone rings when she answers, her boyfriend asked where she was. Jake was a sweet guy he wouldn't understand he had the life she thought she did until tonight, he was the product of a nice lower middle class family with loving parents. A tear threatened to fall wiping it away she hits end. The less anyone knew the better. She looks at the club that she had never set foot in it wasn't because she had just turned 21 this year. There was a bad vide that came from that place the older she got the more she wanted to avoid it.
Dark Knight Paradise club had nothing to do with Batman. Roman held Evie's hand to warn off those that would like to help her into submission. The place hadn't changed much. Black peeling paint on the walls exposed pipe overhead, in the center of the room sat a four sided bar. Private rooms of multiple sizes surrounded the dance floor that is lined with Stripper poles and other contraptions. He walks over to the bar he'd seen Kyle's car outside so he knew the man was here. For once Evie didn't speak her instincts must be kicking in. The 7 foot 300 pound bartender eyes them as he walks up to the bar. He asked Roman did he want his usual room. "Nah I'm here to see the boss he'll be expecting me."
Rapture growls as he checks out Roman's little prize, she looked like she could belong with her long black hair and her pale skin. "Reigns, I like you but you know as well as I do, she can't go back there." Kyle walks into the area and tells him that it was okay he was expecting them both. Rapture shrugs and jumps the bar in front of Roman, the girl jumped back Roman knew the drill. "Hands on the bar no one carries heat in here but me and the boss" he pats down Roman. Looking over at the girl he smiles "You too sweetheart." She asks was this necessary swearing she wasn't carrying. Eyeing Roman for any sign of movement he grabs her and spins her around so that she's facing the bar. "Hands on the bar." he barks at her making her jump. When he pats her front she tenses and Roman stepped back like he had an issue. "You try that Superman Punch shit with me and I'll shoot your ass don't forget where you are boy."
Kyle couldn't wait for this meeting he was going to find his lost one, his Candy. "Rapture, your Texas is showing. It's clear that they would like to leave here the way they came in." Kyle said as he put his hand on the girl's shoulder. She looked away from him. Watching Roman he leans in and brushed his lips near the girl's ear. "You belong to Roman? Don't think for a second that I can't have you here in the middle of my floor on all fours if I wished." She turned her face back to his and narrowed her eyes. Roman grabs her by the hair and covers her mouth. "If she is not careful with her tongue I will give her a use for it"
Evie makes a squeaking sound under his palm as she glares at him. Roman bends slightly while still meeting Kyle's watchful eye and whispers "if you think I'm rough with you at play, these men make my games look and feel like child's play. In this place you are prey." She stops squirming.
They enter a room with Kyle. Evie couldn't imagine what Roman was talking about when she enters the room it became clearer. Only some of the things Roman used on her while at play, or to punish her were lined up along a dresser looking object that set inside the wall. She meets Kyle's gaze again and looks away quickly. He tells her to have a seat, instead of saying anything she sits on Roman's lap when he sits in the chair across from Kyle. Kyle sat behind a desk but Evie didn't think it was for business it had straps on the two legs she could see. It reminded her of the dining room table. Heat rose over her skin as she thought of Roman punishing her on the table.
Kyle thanks Roman he tensed under Evie before speaking. "Can't have you getting blown away by a female now can I? I want 5 grand think of it as an insurance policy." Roman watches the change in Kyle's expression as Kyle tries to ask about him finding Candy. "No she moved again." Evie looks at him and says no she didn't his blonde still lives on her street. Roman pushes her off his lap she lands on the floor looking shocked. Kyle calmly asked him if he had not come to give the information he promised and was guaranteed payment for why he came. Evie opens her mouth to speak and he quickly closes his hand over her mouth glaring at her. "I think if I had not come your daughter may have done you in. If your life is worthless then I guess we have no business. Though I did intend on brining you a gift" he meet Kyle's eyes then Evie's hers widen Kyle sits back in his seat. "But from what I saw it seems you have had you fill for tonight. I have a question, you ever have that much fun with Candy?"
The sound of glass shattering draws everyone's attention. Kyle gets up and looks at one of the screens that line his desk. "Roman what's going on why are their police in my establishment?" Roman says he doesn't know. "Give me your phone young lady." The girl says no. Kyle was not ready for Roman not to enforce his wish. The big man just sat with the girl at his feet. "If she called the police on me neither of you will leave here. Now make your prize give me the phone." Roman asks him to answer the question. "As you know I don't negotiate what's the difference. I trained Candy well enough to suit your needs. Now my question why come here, and lie to my face your prize seems to know exactly where my lost one is."
Evie didn't want to be a prize she wanted to get out of here. "Roman, if he can give you the money, tell him it's why we came is it not." Evie hands the man her phone. "I didn't think to call the police sir." Roman stood and pulls her off the floor by her shirt. He tells the man something about being a sick hypocritical bastard back then. Evie pulls away from Roman he was hurting her. The man watches as the police walk back out of the front door and seems a little less menacing. Roman was mad at her now though. The man hands her back her phone. He then tells Roman he shouldn't be surprised, he made a living out of this, and he charged to break a submissive. He'd let her out into the world saying back then he had enough money coming in to home school her. Lucky for him when he had Roman followed after Candy ran off and embarrassed him in front of a fellow member, that she was not with him.
Roman felt sick he wanted to beat the shit out of Kyle. He'd have to kick his own ass later. Images and sounds from the past, the words Candy spoke, that he once ignored charged into the foreground of his mind. Drawing a breath between his teeth he steps back. When Kyle must of read his body language and draws a gun from his desk drawer. "So she ran because you tried to pull a minor into this" Roman waves his hand around to mean the club. Kyle shook his head and smiled. He spoke of her hospital bill and how he'd planned to get it paid off. Roman stepped back pulling Evie in front of him. Kyle tells him he has one chance to get the hell out his club only because he saved his life, and for him to think of that as payment. Evie asked if they could tell where the blonde is Roman tells her "If you say one more thing I'll leave you here and you'll have to find your way out of this den alone."
Looking around the office and remembering the guys outside that looked at her like she was food, Evie closes her eyes and remains silent. The man named Kyle tells her if she wanted to change Masters he would allow it. That made her cringe this was not a game anymore. Roman's earlier words about his play being child's play in comparison runs through her head. Something said had upset her mate. Roman turns and walks out of the office Evie follows. As they are exiting the club a man walks into her almost knocking her down he grabbed her to steady her and asked if she had a rate or was she here for play. Roman gets in the man's face and says she's his and the man let's her go.
Diamond watches as the guy that held her down gets in his car along with the dark haired bitch. They speed out of the parking lot. She gets in her car and follows them. "I got a cake baked for your slimy ass." She follows them and turns off before they hit Grandville South taking a back road that she used to beat the time clock at work she catches back up with them on Cherry Hill. "No garage please no garage. I'm a winner." The ass hat parked on the street and gets out. Diamond waits for them to go towards the house she wanted to know where he lived. That piece of the puzzle, was soon solved. She looks at the car no alarm oh he felt mega safe in this nice part of the city. That gave her an idea. She'd be back before noon and hoped he continued to trust in his fellow up standing citizens. She wasn't going to steal the thing but he would wish she had. A dark haired man knocks on her window. She powers down the window "Yeah what do you want?"
"I know why I'm following her but why are you?" Matt Hardy says as he looks at the house. The woman tells him to get lost or become a casualty of war. "Look lady, Evie's mine she's the reason my brother is dead. So if you're pissed off she screwing your man just chill, because Version 1 will handle this. "
The guy talked about himself in the third person and pointed at himself. "Matt Hardy you've been hit too many times in the head, you're losing touch with reality. That piece of shit won't breathe in and out too many more hours, if you get in my way, I'll make a hood ornament out of you." Diamond meets the wrestler's glare with a smile and raises her gun "Try Me" she says with a smirk as he backs away from her window. "That low life in there isn't my man, he is the reason my sister couldn't get help in time to save her life. If you want the bitch take her, I don't give two fucks about her, but slime ball is mine. Goodbye Virgin 1"
Roman looks out and swears he sees Matt Hardy across the street talking to someone in a car. The car speeds up the hill and Matt turns to walk back to his car. It was him Roman was seeing him in profile but it was Matt he was sure of that. Matt waved at him and smiled as he got in his car and drove off. Roman scared off his co-worker. Matt may be crazy since Jeff was dead, but not even he wanted to tangle with him or get jumped by his Shield brothers. Seth would kill for him. Dean would too. Evie hadn't said anything since leaving the club which was good because right now he was not in the mood to argue. She announced that she would be going to bed and then when she woke she guessed she would have to call her parents back since he wasn't going to be getting the money. He sent Candy a message on messenger and went to bed. I'm sorry was all he had he couldn't reverse any of the shit that happened but he did tell her that he would leave her alone.
Deon sat at Candy's computer reading the trending news stories when Candy's father flashed across the screen. He was a suspect in a homicide of a minor with the same last name. Deon heard movement and shut off the screen. As he watched Candy climb out of her bed she looks at him and smiles walking over hugging him around the neck, she plants a kiss on his cheek and asks what he was doing. He tells her nothing. She shrugs and says she going to head in for a shower asking did he want to join her. He watches as she waits at the bedroom door looking back at him over her shoulder. She was going to be his wife in a short while he would protect her. He would try his damnedest to keep that line drawn in the sand shielding her, it was about time someone did. He'd let nothing that vile fucker did touch his queen ever again. "I'll be right there babe." Turning back on the screen he sees a chat window pop up. His eyes narrow as he thinks who it could be. He opens the window and read the message.
RR: Hey it's me I'm sorry I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am. If you were the way you were because of him now I know why you were so freaked out when I did some of the things I did to and with you. You deserve so much better than me. I just thought you should know that. I'll always want you, but I will not come after you anymore Candy Bar.
Deon types but before he can hit send Candy asks what he was doing in her messenger. He turns around blocking the screen. He once again says nothing.
After Deon didn't come in the bathroom Candy had come back to grab some clothing that's when she heard messenger ding that she had a message, she'd seen her name with a reply. Why was he lying to her face? "Bullshit you're typing something as me so what is it that I'm saying Deon and who am I saying it to? I forget to close one account and now you're sending shit through it. It's bad enough that Roman is putting that pic of me on the net. Now I have to wonder what you are saying to someone in cyber space as me? Is it someone we both know?" he nods she asks "is it Joshua since every time here lately I look around you have something negative to say to him or Angel."
Deon didn't want her to be mad at him he just wanted to protect her. "It wasn't Joshua or Angel for that matter can we just drop it if you don't want me to reply fine I won't." It would probably make it worse the fucker said he'd stop bothering her if he held up his end of the bargain Deon hitting send would sound like a challenge and all he wanted was for the guy to leave her alone. She asked who they both knew that sent her a message. He didn't really see a good way to get out of this. So he led with the truth. "Since I don't want you pissed at me over this guy it was Roman." He moves out of the way. He watched as she read Roman's message and his reply as her, waiting to be sent. She lost some color. "Babe, are you okay?" She meets his gaze and speaks then covers her mouth running from the room.
Candy felt sick Roman had spoken to Kyle. The first day he'd come here he'd mentioned her father now he was apologizing. What had Kyle told him that had him apologizing? Her father was known to be graphic. Oh god did they compare notes? "D…Don't send anything just delete the thread and while you're at it delete the account. I think I'm going to be sick." She runs out of the room. Roman knew oh god she'd never told him and now he knew. She wanted nothing to do with the feelings ranging inside of her right now. Angel had told her that if she ever wanted to talk she could. She needed girl time right about now. After a shower she walks out of the bathroom Deon asked if she wanted to talk. "I can't deal right now I need to get my head straight." He asked if he could do anything. "Yeah can you drop me at Angel's place?" He opens his mouth then closes it and tells her sure. "Thanks" He asks did she want him to come in with her so he could apologize to Angel. "Honey the less she sees of you right now would probably be for the better. I got enough shit ruining through my head without having to play referee between you two or even worst you and Joshua." He says if she going over he's going too because his big mouth was what caused Angel to get in the wind last night. Saying they were a band and he was not going to let that shit simmer. Candy shrugs she just really needed to get out of here. They head to Ivey Mansion.
Angel was in the living room on the phone. "No I haven't used that account I was calling to have it transferred." Grabbing her card out of her purse she reads off the number. "What number drew the charge then?" Angel was rocking when the man briskly read off the charge and asked had she did a promotion at a county Jail. She stopped rocking "what county?" the man read off the county that she had got married in. "No and please deactivate that card. Yes send me the viewer receipt. Sir, as of now put the remaining funds into my Angela Davenport account thank you." Candy's card is entered into the front door announcing her presence and she and Deon walk in. Angel looked at Deon, then Candy her girl looked off somehow. "Hey" Deon walked over, Angel met his gaze. He apologizes and asked her if she could forgive him. "You said what you felt I'm sure nothing has changed. Let's just leave it alone please I'm not in the mood to fight with you."
Deon puts his hands up and says fine he's out of here. He says his goodbyes to Angel, kisses Candy on the cheek and leaves the house. She turns back to Angel "You know how you said if ever I needed to talk I could come to you, I need to talk." An gel says sure and asked what was wrong. Sophie walks in Candy looks at Sophie then says biting her lip "Um, I'd rather not broadcast this one, it's not exactly one of my finer moments. Can we speak alone please?" Sophie says if it's about Kyle R she knows already. "Oh my god is he announcing the shit from the rooftops now? Why are all of you speaking to him all of a sudden?"
Sophie didn't like Candy's tone and on less than 4 hours of sleep in Luke's office she wasn't in the mood to play nice. "Whoa, hold on chica, I need you to drop the tone. I didn't have to speak him it's all over the news. I understand you are feeling some type of way about your dad killing…" Candy's loss of color alerted Sophie that maybe Candy didn't know what she thought she knew. Sophie pulled her phone. "Here"
Candy takes the phone and reads the story on her father. "He…He killed someone?" She finished the story and handed back the phone. A shudder ran through her. She'd told the nurse Diamond nothing she'd thought the girl's description of Kyle's bright happy new family life she spoke about was way different from what Candy had experienced. Her fear that if she tarnished the picture the girl would do something to her in retaliation had stopped her from telling the girl of their relation. Her father had killed her baby half-sister. "Is Joshua here?" Angel tells her he is and calls him telling him Candy was here and needed to talk to him. "I'm sorry for being rude Sophie, there is just a lot going on right now." Sophie says she thought she knew but apparently she didn't.
Joshua comes into the living room one look was all it took before he could even say a word Candy ran over and hugged him. Whispering between sobs how all this shit was her fault that she should have told the nurse about Kyle but she was afraid and now the girl's little sister was dead. He meets Angel's concerned gaze over Candy's shoulder. They walk in the den. He'd read the news feed when it hit the morning news app, when he called her phone Deon answered and told him he'd tell her then hung up on his ass. Holding her away from him so he could look her in the eye. He tells her "Stop that, it's horrible that it happened, but it's not your fault. I won't let you blame yourself for something you had no control over." Pulling away from him she walks over and curls up on the couch and asks him when he found out. He tells her about calling her and then asked how she found out if Deon didn't tell her. As she explained about how Roman messaging her made her feel like getting out of her house before she crawled out of her skin. She was grossed out that Roman had spoken to her father about their past and thought he'd spoke to Sophie because of what she said. "Well you know you can talk to me I'm glad you came." She turns and hugs the large pillow staring at the ceiling and starts. Joshua listened and tried to hold his anger in check. She'd come to speak to Angel about the fact that Roman had spoken to her father but this was that other side of Candy that she didn't share with many for fear of ridicule. He knew Sophie nor Angel wouldn't think of her differently but kept his comment to himself. Right now Candy needed to decompress let this shit out before she directed all this crap inward.
Later that day Evie gets up Roman is still asleep her phone rings he flinches but does not wake. Going out into the hall she answers the phone. It was the man from the club. "Hello, yes I need the money Roman will be angry at us both if I tell you that. I would rather not say. I have to go how you did you get this number anyway? That was sneaky and I do not appreciate your trickery good-bye and my name is not Prize." Fuming at the audacity of that old fool she calls her mom and dad and asks for the money. "With Roman suspended, my check will not cover it, please daddy." Her father says he would mail her the money she asked did he mean wire it. He says no she tells him wiring it would be faster. He shot back that her not getting herself into these situations would be the fastest way to save money. Her Finnish tongue and temper overrode her brain and the next sound she heard was her parent hanging up. She'd never spoke to her father like that and regretted it the second it left her mouth. What was happening to her? Looking back at the door to her bedroom Roman was the cause of all this him and his blonde. His blonde Candy was why Angel was avoiding her. His little stunt with his blonde had got him suspended threatening her job and her friendship. Her trying to help him, he did not appreciate said help, and had made fun of her. Evie marched further from the room as anger licked higher and higher like a flame eating her alive. He'd taken her to that god-awful man as payment she was no whore. She would show him that she was smarter than him. She slips in to her room grabs her clothing and his car keys. Looking back at him she sneaks over and cuffs his hands to her headboard with his own kink cuffs. She walks into the den shaking the mouse his message to that girl was on her screen. She calmly walks over to her bedroom door and locks it from the outside. Taking a breath she thinks of what she will say to the man and calls back the number if he was really willing to pay that much money part of Evie's problem would be solved and since Roman wasn't treating her like number one she would have to show him just how much she looked out for number one, herself. By the end of her conversation with Kyle she had seven thousand dollars she'd replace what she stole and have some left over. Sending the money back into the account seemed to be harder than she imagined. Getting frustrated she calls Angel and gets her voice mail she left a message telling Angel what she had done and how she had tried to put the money back. She says that since the account seems to be rejecting a deposit she would have the money sent via an email that Angel could open and deposit herself. She ends with "sista I thought he would be able to pay me back but all I got was a very hard lesson about trust. As you are known to say Life lesson learned I hope this will not put further strain on our relationship but I did it for you. I know you may be angry for a time but if I did not give the man the blonde's address I wouldn't be able to pay you back." hanging up she heard Roman slamming the headboard against the wall. Walking in, she watches him, as he heaved and strained against his own toy.
"LET ME OUT OF THESE THINGS OR I'LL RIP THIS FUCKING BED APART!" Evie tells him that he could no longer threaten to tell Angel about the money and reveals that she called the Kyle man back and gave him the blonde's address on silver a platter and smiles at him as he jerks at his bonds and yells at her. "YOU BITCH THE WORLD WILL KNOW ABOUT YOU AND YOUR LITTLE BAND LEAD I PROMISE YOU THAT." She walks out of the room and closes the door he hears the lock click and goes bat shit trying to rip the bed apart. Breathing hard he stops Kyle now knew where Candy lived. He drops his head. Evie had double crossed his ass. He'd pushed her too far last night he'd tried to turn her into something she wasn't. Evie was a lot of things but willingly submissive wasn't one of them. Now if he couldn't get out of this shit Kyle would be at Candy's door no doubt blaming it on him. A loud boom is heard and the whole house shook. "What the FUCK?"
Moments earlier Matt rides a bike he stole back to the house that he'd seen Roman and Evie go into. He hides in the back seat of Roman's car. Evie didn't walk long distances he'd just wait if they both got in he'd be in trouble. Something told him to chance a peak, when he hears the door open and slam. She was in the driver's seat not even inches from him. "GOT ya bitch this is for my brother." He grabs her from the back seat around the throat putting her in choke hold she turns the key a fast ticking sound was the last sound they heard. The car exploded killing them both instantly.
Diamond watched as the bitch took her lover's spot in death. Her father had always kidded with her that she should have been something else besides a nurse. Her knowledge of chemicals and electronics was a private hobby. Matt Hardy was in the back seat before the bomb went off. Too bad she couldn't warn him, he was kind of cute without the long hair, he looked like her Jake. Diamond drives away when she hears sirens. That car was nothing of what it used to be. If there was anything left she would be surprised her homemade chemical bomb hooked to the ignition cable had worked. She still owed Roman Reigns but for now he'd know some of what she felt without her sister, as the image in her rearview mirror gets smaller so does the flames, as the fire Department tries to put out her latest chemistry project. The blast had almost taken the house. Turning down a side street she drove until the thing ended at a wall with a gate. Backing back down the street that was probably a driveway she turns and heads away from Grandville South.
Candy shuddered and since it wasn't cold in the den, Joshua knew the chill was an internal one. "Hey do you want a drink or anything?" Her answer made him chuckle because it was a sign that Candy, his little spitfire of a sister, was on the way back to being herself. If it took a thousand poorly placed short jokes he could deal.
"Did you just ask a stressed out German does she want an alcoholic drink? Josh right now I'd drink your Leprechaun ass, under the table." He smirked pointing at her and told her to watch it his words having no bite at all. Candy knew her and alcohol, when she was like this wasn't a good match. She really was cold though. Rubbing her hands on her sleeves she asks "Can I have a cup of coffee instead?" He says coming right up and walks out of the room. Talking to her bro helped. He helped her as only he could. Candy gets up and walks around the den. Wiping her eyes on the back of her sleeve she looked at her reflection on her phone it rang in her hand. It was Jonathon asking her was she okay. "Um yes sir, why do you ask?" His answer made her run to the TV and turn it on she watched a good six foot piece of her street on fire, as a tree near the street burst into flames as fire fighters sprayed foam on it. "No, I'm at Ivey Mansion are you okay? That looks really close to your place." He tells her he's at Paula's bar finishing up a release. "Where is your partner?" He says that Gloria is fine, conducting interviews in the office space they were renting on the 86th floor of Ivey Towers until LEGNA USA Grandville was finished being built. "Have you called Angel, the camera man sucks, it almost looked like your place was on fire in the still shot?" He says no but she was calling him so she must be watching. "Ok well answer it so she doesn't freak out goodbye sir." Candy turns up the volume. Joshua walks back in handing her coffee. Candy takes it but remained transfixed on the TV until a commercial broke the spell. Deon called her "Hey, yeah, I'm watching I'll call you back we need to talk but its back on." Candy presses end and watches as the fire ball is fully extinguished. There were two bodies. Records would have to be pulled to identify the remains. They decide to head back out into the living room as the door opens Angel's next words make Candy stop abruptly, forcing Joshua to walk into her grabbing her before her and the hot coffee hit the floor.
Out in the living room Angel sat in front of the TV she held her phone up to her ear. "I'm just glad you're okay dad okay see you guys later" ending her call with her father Angel looks over at Sophie who sat next to her turning to her sister Angel says "I hope Evie is okay that happened in front of her house…"
Candy slowly walks into the room. Her voice breaks off Angel's speech "You knew where he lived and you didn't tell me why?" Joshua goes to say something Candy puts up her hand. "No Josh I want to know. Angel why would you let me moved back into his fucking strike zone?"
Angel flinches at the accusation "Candy I thought they had broken up. Evie said it was an open relationship, she also spoke of other guys. Since none of the times I went over there he was there I didn't think she would allow him to live there. I just found out before you got here that Evie stole 5 grand from me. The promotion account for Angelic Impression was withdrawn from over the weekend and the charge was to a county jail the county we got married in. She fucking bailed out her boyfriend with my money. It seems to never fail every time I give someone another chance they put their preverbal ass in my face. She kept calling me and I just couldn't deal with her after he showed up and attacked you. Deon blames me but I did all I could to prevent Roman from coming. I told Evie he was not invited. She sprung the question on me last minute and I told her no, she threatened not to come I made it clear that he was not invited. She compared her and Roman to Joshua and me." Angel rubs her hands on her pants.
Sophie shuts off the TV and speaks to Angel. "Sis there is no comparison Joshua would have not showed up if he wasn't invited, and he sure as hell would not have attacked anyone in her fucking wedding party. I think you gave her every chance in the world to be a friend on top of your other issues stealing from you is beyond toxic to a friendship. As for Deon blaming you he's going to feel like that because he thinks you are the reason behind Roman showing up. Security was compromised that wasn't your fault." Sophie's phone chimes and she excuses herself.
Candy moves so Joshua could get pass her when he tapped her on the shoulder. "Angel I understand why you didn't say anything. I still kind of wish you would have told me. That way I would have known what I was up against with her living that close." Angel nods and is about to speak when Joshua shakes his head at her closing his eyes telling Angel not to say it. Angel doesn't say anything and suddenly her phone is her main point of focus. In an uncertain tone Candy asks "Joshua, can you?" He asks where she wanted to go as he grabbed his keys off the key-block by the door, patting his back pocket for his wallet. He didn't even look at her as he walks out of the room up the stairs, of the sunken living room and out the front door, leaving it open. Candy's day had gone from bad to worse, and just when shit was calming down, it seemed that life through her another curve ball. Her initial outburst was based on the pure shock that Angel knew that Evie lived so close. She didn't want to go home and Deon was at the Davenport with the way she was handling conversations right now that conversation would have to wait. "Can you take me to the Last Ride?" Joshua shrugs and says fine. They drive down the hill and pass her home Candy couldn't help but to look at the place the car had caught fire. "I just feel you guys should have told me where she lived. Did you know where Evie lives? A little warning would have been nice." He was quiet so long she was about to say never mind. She wasn't in the mood for brooding Joshua.
Joshua turns on to Main Street. "Yeah I knew where she lived and when I went looking for Roman's ass, he wasn't there." Candy says that it kind of stung that he of all people didn't think it important to tell her that Roman lived down the street. "You know what kind of stings, that you make it sound like this was some evil scheme by me and Angel against you. So tell me something, if you knew where Evie lived, what would have been different? You would have been in panic mode on top of everything else and for most of the time he wasn't in town I checked. Up until my wedding he had been meeting all of his appearance agreements and most of them where not here or even in this state. Janet thought I had a sudden interest in Wrestling. My thinking was I really didn't know if he was with Evie or not but I wanted to know if he had work in this area. Here's Last Ride."
Candy gets out of the truck and stands back as he pulls out of Paula's bar's parking lot. Walking in it just seemed different. She hadn't been here since Angel's bachelorette party. Once again Joshua made her think. If she was armed with Evie's address what would she have done different? She still would have gone to the wedding. Besides the first time Roman didn't come back to her home. He knew where she lived even before Evie got Angel to give her another chance. The fact that Joshua had searched for Roman was just like him. Evie was no real threat to her. If she was truthful with herself her knowing that Roman was so close would have made her second guess going home at all, so those long stretches of time he wasn't there, she would have been hiding and freaked out for nothing. She'd gone home and Roman had not made himself appear at her door again, nor had he been on the street for a "chance meeting" His next attempt was on the boat in another county. Everything was hitting her all at once.
Rapture watched as the small blonde leaned over to talk to the bartender a creamy white expanse of skin showing just over her hip bone. This bar wasn't like Dark Knight Paradise club, it was a bar for drinking and music or playing pool for money. He was off today. He walks over and sits by her. She looked up at him he knew she couldn't see his eyes through the sunglasses. "Hey I lost my number can I have yours?" her laughter went through him like a lightning bolt.
Candy busted out laughing. "Um, nice ice breaker, but no I'm engaged" Candy puts her hand up wiggling her ring finger. When the man takes her hand and inspects the ring she tenses at his touch. She pulled her hand from his grasp knowing that he had to have let go. He was 7 feet tall if he was an inch, with arms as big around as her damn waist. He asks can he buy her a celebratory drink. Instead of pushing her luck with shooting him down, before he ate her or something, she says sure. He kept his hands to himself, that was a relief and besides the horrible one liner his conversation wasn't bad. She declined telling him anything researchable about her, like her real name, or what she did, she told him she was in between jobs and her name was Dixie.
Joshua had to get his head straight, even though there wasn't anything he could do to help Candy, it didn't make it any easier. He calls Angel and after a time it hits Voice mail. He leaves her a message just telling her that he'd be at the Davenport so she wouldn't worry about him being gone so long. As he heads into the Davenport, Deon walks over and asks where Candy was. "I dropped her off at the Last Ride. Why didn't you tell her about the news about her father?" Deon squared his shoulders and faced Joshua head on.
"I was protecting her, I knew she would go running to you. Maybe she needs to be isolated from all the bullshit. So I bet you couldn't wait to tell her that I knew huh? Always have to make yourself look good in my girl's eyes. She lied to me. She said she was going over there to talk to your wife. It sounds to me, like she spoke to Joshua, her best friend that can do no wrong." Joshua turns away from him and orders a drink, the causal brush off pissed Deon off to no end. Deon grabs Joshua's arm to spin him back around.
Joshua grabs Deon's hand and twists it quickly behind his back. "Don't touch me again, or I'll make you eat this fucking bar." Joshua pushes Deon away from him releasing him. "I'm still not pleased with you for shooting off your mouth to my wife last night. You know you sound like a real dumb ass, every chance you get you open your mouth and either blame or accusations fly out. Let me shed some light on a situation Deon. I'm Candy's friend I have been since high school. I was her friend before you came, and if you keep up with the retarded shit you're doing. I'll be her friend after you're gone."
"Hey as far as the Angel thing I apologized she basically brushed me off so I left it at that. If you're such a friend why in the hell did you drop my Fiancé off across town?" Joshua looks shocked. "Wait she didn't tell you? I proposed to her and she said yes. She knew I was here. Roman sent her a fucking messenger message that freaked her out she knew I was here. Why would she not want to come here?" Joshua tells Deon that since the fire or whatever happened in front of Evie's house Roman may not be a problem anymore if he was in that car. "So you knew where the fucker lived and you didn't tell me?" Joshua tries to say something but Deon was minutes away from going bat shit. "Joshua the news said it was a bomb someone is running around blowing up parts of Grandville South and you just drop your bestie off across town? You're a real piece of work. You knew I wanted to find that fucker when he first attacked her. You knew where he was? With friends like you she really doesn't need enemies. Leave my fiancée alone that's my final warning." Deon walks pass Joshua without touching him. Joshua follows him outside and asks where he is going. "To protect my girl from her best friend's bad choices. I thought we were at least on the same page when it came to protecting her." Deon says as he gets in his car and speeds off. Joshua goes into his office and slams the door.
Angel comes out of the bathroom her phone had been ringing, sitting back in the living room she listens to Joshua's message. She calls him and they speak he sounded even more pissed after speaking to Deon. She understood his need to go work off some tension. There was a voice mail from Evie her finger hovers over the delete button but then she really did need to speak Evie. She wondered what Evie could possibly have to say for herself. She hits play and her world turned on its ear with the obvious betrayal. Candy blamed her, Deon did as well, now even Evie blamed her. Evie had told Candy's murdering father where she lives to get back money she'd stole?
Sophie walks in to plug in her phone to the house system when she hears Angel screaming into the phone. She stands just inside the door until she hears what the hell was going on.
Angel had to warn Candy, Joshua had said he'd dropped her off. She couldn't go back in time to tell Candy where Evie lived like she wanted but she would not keep silent this time. She calls Evie and it hits voice mail Angel leaves Evie a scathing message, and once and for all tells Evie they were through. She calls Joshua and tells him about Evie's voice mail. "I'm done. I can't she steals from me, now because of jealousy or whatever she blames me for her giving Candy's address to that monster of a father of hers. If he was willing to pay her enough to pay me back for an address he can't have anything good planned. I figured even if Candy won't talk to me she'd at least listen to you. I sent Evie a voice mail telling her I'm done this is too much." Joshua tells her he's heading to Last Ride right now and he would get Candy out of harm's way. He tells Angel to please calm down and that he'd call her when he made contact with Candy. "Okay, Joshua I'm so sorry. If it weren't for me forgiving Evie…" Sophie comes in the room and starts talking at Angel. Joshua tells her to listen to her sister and that he'd go get Candy off the street and bring her back to the house. They say their goodbyes the minute Angel presses end, Sophie starts up again.
"That heifer steals from you and tries to blame you for her fucked reason for betraying you. Angel I don't know what her agenda was but it wasn't to be a real friend. I heard you tell her you're through that's good because sis from day one her main focus has never been on your friendship. Look at yourself you're all stressed out and miserable. I am so fucking tired of you apologizing. Unless you knew from jump that all this shit was going to take place it is not your fault. You told Joshua that's all you can do okay." Angel nods and says she going to go lie down that she suddenly felt really tired. "Okay, leave your phone on and if you get to feeling any worse call me okay?" Angel nods and leaves the room.
Earlier in the day in Evie's bedroom. "What the FUCK?" Roman yells, right after the loud noise and the house shook Roman brakes the headboard. Jumping from the bed he runs to the window. "MY CAR!" This was bad this was beyond bad. He runs to the door it's locked why the fuck would she lock him in? Was she trying to kill him? Any closer and the car would have caught the house on fire. She'd trapped him in her house and fucked up his damn car. He knew he'd pissed Evie off but this was insane. She'd told Kyle where Candy lived he hoped Candy wasn't home. He couldn't take it if his fuck up with Evie got Candy hurt. He had to get out of here. Looking around the room he spies the window over her dresser grabbing his wallet and phone he pushes the dresser out of the way looking out to see where it lead. It would put him behind the privacy gate and off the street he didn't want to be here when the cops showed he was out on bail for fuck's sake. He raises the window the rolling rancid black smoke chokes him briefly, but he also could use it as more cover just in case her gate that lead to the back yard was open. Climbing out he discovers it wasn't and crawls to the back of the house. As fire engines and police car sirens wail, he walks through the alley. He had to get the hell out of the area or at the very least off this block. He remembers there's a bar attached to a book store not too far from here he needed a drink all the control he went to sleep with had went up in smoke just like his fucking car.
Rapture had not had this much fun with someone not in the life for a long time. He would usually not even hit on any of the females that came in here. This one was taken and wasn't budging on that fact. Her laugh and her personality even after half a bottle of Gin intrigued him. "This was nice Dixie once again congratulations. Your man is very lucky he got a loyal one. Most females I encounter are married already but still want some extra." There was that laugh again. He looks up when he feels eyes on him he meets the eyes of Roman as he was walking into the bar. It was time to go he didn't feel like fighting with Kyle's boys tonight, nor did he want to have the little punk going after this breath of fresh air just to see if he could intro her the lifestyle that went on at the club. Refocusing on Dixie he says "Well here's my card if ever you want to just chat or whatever here's the deal you don't throw it at me and no hard feelings even if you never call." She took his card and lays it on the bar under her drink with a shy smile. He walks away before Roman could get through the throng of dancing people on the dance floor. He didn't need to attract any negative attention to Dixie he believed in guilt by association.
Candy felt better than she had in a few hours her buzz was just that a buzz. She looks at Rapture's card and neatly folds it into little squares when it was as small as she could make it she flicks it at the trash can and misses.
Roman walks beside her and looks around for the bouncer of Kyle's club. When he saw who Rapture was sitting with, Roman's heart jumped into his throat. "Candy Bar can I speak…" Candy jumps at his voice. When she tries to jump off the barstool she hits the floor like a brick. He grabs for her and she crab walks away from his touch. Fisting his hands and shoving them into his pockets he wasn't expecting to see her either but this was probably his only chance to warn her. "I said I wouldn't come after you and I'm not. I have to tell you something. Can we talk please? I'm not going to do anything to you here. I didn't even know you came to this place but I have to warn you." Her gaze did something it had never done. It used to turn him on the power would light his arousal. Now guilt roared in his blood his presence filled her with fear. What he once thought was her natural submission, was tainted by what he now knew of her life before him.
Candy gets to her feet and sat back on the barstool putting her head in her hands. Roman sat next to her. When she looks at him he promises to keep his hands on the bar. When he didn't move his hands she says "Warn me of what?" She watched his hands not his face if he moved closer she was out of here. When he tells her how Evie had told her father where she lived Candy felt like the all air in the room had evaporated. Her father knew where she lived. Forcing the words past the lump in her throat she says "You introduced them so she knows too?" He shakes his head and explained what happened. "You couldn't stop at the embarrassing photo, you had to stir up the hornet's nest of my past. He killed the girl that you said was on the couch." His look of shock made her continue. "You didn't know she's dead. Well just like that won't change. Neither will the fact that your fucking whore just put my life in danger." He says that's why he felt he had to warn her. "Ever since you came back into this area you have done nothing but attack me and threaten my life, now your whore opened season on my ass?" He explains about his belief and how finding out the real nature of her submission made him feel guilty and wrong. He tells her that he is sorry for everything.
Deon walks into the Last Ride scanning the bar he spots Candy sitting at the bar. When he recognizes Roman his blood boiled she wasn't trying to get away from him. They were sitting there talking. He charges down the stairs spins her around, grabs her off the bar stool shaking her. "What the fuck is going on Candy?" She says he's hurting her Deon looked down at his hands around her upper arms. She was shaking in his grasp. The fear in her gaze set his mouth off "I can't believe you? First you lie about who you going to see at Joshua's house and now you're cheating with your lunatic of an ex-boyfriend?" Wincing she pulls to be let free as tears stream down her cheeks? She begs him to calm down and says it's not what he thinks. "He fucking RAPED you and you're afraid me?"
"Smooth Bass player say it a little louder I don't think China heard you." Deon tells him to mind his own damn business. Roman gets up Deon pushes Candy away to swing at Roman who blocks the strike attempt and aggressively pushes the bass player backwards. The Bass player lands on his ass. As he is about to climb to his feet Roman says "We've had this dance before you couldn't handle round two stay down or I'll make you apart of the floor." The bartender threatens to call the police. Roman helps Candy up from the floor where the bass player pushed her down to swing at him. The bass player tells him to get his hands off her. Roman doesn't let her go until she's back on her feet turning to the bass player he says "I said I wouldn't mess with her anymore if you come near me I'll beat you to death." Seeing the bartender raise the phone to her ear he turns back to Candy. "Candy I admit you deserve much better than me, but you can do way better than him. Call your band lead. Get the hell off the street it's getting late. I know it won't fix shit but, again I'm sorry for, everything." Roman briskly walks off towards the back of the bar and out the back door. Rounding the building a large white truck almost makes him a hood ornament, stopping inches from him, he runs further into the ally when he hears sirens. The bartender had made good on her promise of calling the cops. He couldn't catch a break. He slows down where the hell was he going to go? This area was getting way to hot too fast.
Joshua jumps out of his truck he swore he had just almost hit Roman. He charges into the bar. Where was Candy? Looking around he searches for her a crowd was gathering near the, bar that was never a good sign. Fearing the worst he moves through the throng of people. As he gets to the center of the crowd Candy briskly walks towards him asking can he get her out of here. Letting out the breath he didn't even realize he was holding he says" Yeah it's why I came." She nods and walks pass him. He follows her to his truck and peels out of the parking lot towards his home.
Deon stood with his mouth hanging open in the middle of the semicircle of people that had been drawn to his outburst. Jonathon walks out of one of the private meeting rooms. "Talent may I have moment of your time?" Deon closes his eyes and then heads into Jonathon's makeshift office. Jonathon had seen the bad public display by his talent and thought he would speak to the young man. His last band's release had been completed hours ago he was finishing the drop label information when he looked up at the screen and spotted the Keyboardist and the wrestling personality sitting at the bar. He'd kept an eye on the situation and turned up audio. Deon's negative behavior reminded him of Scott he didn't need another Scott situation on his hands. Deon sits down at the conference table his body language showed he was still agitated. Jonathon walks over and sits in front of him "You came charging in to this public venue" Deon cuts him off and says his relationship wasn't up for discussion. "As I was saying, you ran into this public venue and drew a negative response. With Social media being what it is today truly your image not only represents you. One snap of a camera phone is all it takes to spin your character into the ground. I need you to either repair the situation in a civilized way or leave. Your behavior as of late has been deplorable to others in the band." Deon says that he must be talking about Angel. "You seem to forget the person that you keep challenging is your band lead. Angel is not your lead in writing Joshua is your first level of management he signed Personal Touch as his Band, if you can't come to a resolution before LEGNA US Grandville is built. I'll recommend the decision that I think is best for the band. You have a great skill when it comes to playing bass, but please remember you're not irreplaceable. I'll not sit back and watch you tank my company." Deon accuses him of making it personal. "Mr. Baza you didn't see you, this isn't personal, its business."
Deon says "You couldn't have seen much from in here."
"I don't have to lie to you, look at what everyone in that area witnessed." Jonathon turns the screen around after typing in his temporary password logging him into the bar's Supervisor Interactive account, Paula had given him since he had been using her establishment after hours to get his band's music out by the release dates that he'd set. Jonathon excuses himself and leaves the private room to call Gloria to see if she got the documents he'd just sent.
With a frown Deon presses start in an image of Candy and a biker looking guy sitting at the bar. He turns up audio. His queen sent a sense of pride through him as he watches her rebuff the guy's advances. He sees the man stare off and come back to himself quickly then leave. Deon's anger grew at the instant he sees Roman. When he sees and hears what was said he felt two inches tall. Seeing himself man handle her and accuse them of cheating he'd thought her fear of him asking her a question was irrational. He'd scared the living shit out of her. They weren't cheating she'd probably thought for a second that her father had caught up with her. The accusation he screamed at her making her cry. Not only had she told him he was hurting her but his tone and what he said to her before he pushed her down to fight Roman was too far. He stops the video he couldn't watch anymore. Joshua's words about his accusations and blame replayed in his head from earlier at the Davenport. Deon had to get out of here he needed to go home. Jonathon was right to pull him aside, he now understood what he was saying. This little public display was not the image they needed when they started back up next year. Candy wasn't cheating. He gets up as Jonathon was coming back into the room "You were right I need to get out of here and clear my head. I promise you that" he points to the screen in freeze frame of himself shoving Candy to the floor to fight with Roman while strangers watched "won't happen ever again."
Jonathon glances at the image. "Make sure that it doesn't because while she is in my employ I'm responsible for protecting her image as well. Dismissed" Deon leaves the room. Jonathon signs out of Supervisor Interactive. He heads to Ivey Towers to pick up Gloria, and head to Ivey Mansion.
Once on the main street that leads to home Joshua calls Angel she answers and he tells her she is on speaker phone. "Hey you okay you sound tired. No I called to tell you Candy is with me." He glances over at his friend as Angel's voice comes through his speakers.
Angel didn't want Candy going home even if she refused to come to the house she couldn't go home not with her father knowing where she lived now. "I know I can't change what I didn't tell you Candy but I have to warn you of some information I got from Evie it is about your father."
Candy shocks them both "Angel I know Evie told him where I live." Silence greets the line. Joshua looks at the dashboard to see if the call was still connected. "Angel, are you there?"
Angel says "I understand that you are upset with me for not telling you that she was so close but it's a big house and I could just stay out of your sight. I couldn't deal if you got hurt because of Evie's actions." Joshua is about to say something when Candy takes his words out of his mouth telling Angel yes she would come to the house tonight but Angel didn't have to avoid anyone in her own home. She also tells Angel that Evie's actions were not her fault. "I know it's not my fault but I still feel responsible."
Candy says they are near the house they end the call and enter. Sophie and Luke were sitting on the couch. Candy doesn't meet their eyes incase Angel had been in the room with them when she offered to stay out of sight. Candy meant what she said Angel didn't have to feel she had to dodge her in her own home. She was thankful that Angel even would ask her to come. With how things were with Deon his place was out, and she really didn't want to go home now that Kyle knew where she lived. Joshua voiced the question that was burning her lips. "Hey where's Angel?"
Sophie puts down her laptop gets up and stretches "She's been upstairs since a little after you guys left. After calling you back she said she was tired. This shit is bothering her as if she doesn't have enough shit already to deal with." Joshua tells Candy no one is in the bedroom she usually liked to claim.
Candy thanks him and walks into the bedroom on the main floor. Janet had texted her. Her little buddy wanted to tell her about her new school. Candy needed distraction and since the bar wasn't a good place for that especially at night with Kyle closer to finding her, she'd see what Janet was up to. She sends back a text they text until Janet texts her that she and her momma is outside her door. Candy opens the door and Janet along with Paula comes in with a plate of cookies and a container of liquid. Candy's stomach grumbled she hadn't eaten anything but the peanuts at the bar to stave off the Gin hitting her system with nothing to consume but her good sense. They sit on the bed and munch on cookies and talk. Paula reveals that the liquid was Starbuck's Cappuccino. When Candy gets up to put her plate on the dresser Paula asks her what happened to her back. Candy knew she was sore but hadn't pulled up her shirt she looked at where Paula was looking and saw the bruise from hitting the floor at Last Ride. Looking up at Janet she says "Um I'm super clumsy" Deon was mad when he shoved her out of way to fight Roman she'd lost her footing and hit the floor landing on her back. She was just glad she hadn't slid she would have hit the damn bar. They finish talking changing the subject frequently but she could feel Paula's eyes on her. Candy tries to cover a yarn and they soon leave her to get some sleep. After locking the door Candy walks into the bathroom and takes off her shirt. Staring back her reflection she looks at the bruising on her back and on her upper arms. Deon was rough with her if he hadn't of stop shaking her when he did, she would have really gave him something to be mad about he'd made her nauseous, she was seconds from throwing up on him. It was time for sleep she just wanted this day to end. After a quick shower she curled up under the covers and went to sleep.
Roman checked into a cheap hotel in North Grandville he didn't feel like being a recognized super star. Right now, he wanted a bed and a bottle of something. He takes a walk down the main street and hits a liquor store. Evie had to know he'd escaped her trap by now he wondered when or if she would call him. He heads back to his room with a phone number, a liter of Gin, and a slice of gas station pizza. The food was horrible. The room smelled like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. He called the number and spoke to one of the submissive females from Kyle's club. The woman was a professional sub ring rat if you were a Dom and had ever been in the ring this chick would be anything you wanted. Tonight Roman needed to feel back in control if only for one night.
Seeing Luke this afternoon was the most difficult part of Diamond's day. He gave her the shift sheet and asked her did she need some time off and let the subject drop. She'd told him no she needed to work or she'd lose it. He told her to advise him or her head nurse if she needed to leave. He was gone before her shift ended that was rare. She'd been about to knock on his office door when one of the techs came down the hall and told her he'd left for the day. She spoke to her mom her mom had told her not to do anything to let the authorities handle him that when he went on the other side hopefully he would feel what he had done to her baby. Diamond wasn't going to let him live long enough to be bubba's bitch. They weren't moving fast enough. She watches her work clock like a kid waiting for recess. Where she would usually do another round or sign the on-call list. She had left the one that stopped her from shooting Kyle alive for long enough. The more she thought about it. It was Roman's fault just as much as her filthy father. He wasted time holding her down. Time Passion didn't have. It was quitting time she leaves the hospital a dark storm was brewing in more ways than one. She turns on her phone. She saw that Jake had called her a few times. She listened to his voicemails and read his text to contact hm. He wouldn't approve he was on his way to becoming a doctor. She would have never thought she could hate this bad. Her life had been so normal 48 hours ago.
Driving by the club she saw Kyle was still there or at least his car was. She had asked a few girls about the club and found out that it was a Dom /Sub club as one of the older single nurses that used to work with her at Grandville Memorial North described what takes place. Diamond couldn't see herself going into a place like that. She'd be no one's pet. Lighting flashed as she drove towards Roman's house.
Kyle didn't know he'd killed his Passion until his picture was all over the fucking news. Damn state cops were a pain in his ass. If Diamond had of just called the local station he would not have to deal with the state cops poking their noses in to his business. He'd paid off or had dirt on the entire local Grandville North police department. He should have known something was different he'd never had to give a girl mouth to mouth after taking her. He should have stopped after that but she'd fought him when she stopped moving the first time he'd thought of Candy. She used to stop fighting him and just lay there staring off into space until he would finish. Passion was too small he guessed when he took her he thought he would hear her scream like he'd heard his Candy the first time but Passion didn't scream her mouth opened and she had stopped breathing with panic in her gaze. He gave her mouth to mouth. When he was sure she was breathing again he'd punished her for trying to escape that's when the front door opened and Diamond walked in. He'd never been caught sure Candy had told his first wife the prude and she'd killed herself. That was years after he'd last touched her. He had come home and found the prude in the pool her suicide note had accused him. That was the first time he'd paid for an investigation to end quickly.
When Candy ran away he'd tried to find her on his own, the bar she worked at would never tell if she was there or not. He'd almost got his head smashed in by the large man name Vash, or at least that was what was on his name tag. He'd called the owner a liar and said he would find his Candy. The Vash guy told him to step back when he stepped forward to get in the owner's face the Vash guy punched him and planted his foot in his ribs then threw him out the door. Kyle had went up to the school but Candy was never there when he showed up.
He now had his Candy's address. It would be the perfect hiding place and he could turn her into the sub she was bred to be. He wondered as he rode in his employee's car with the wipers going trying to see through the down pour. If she had gained weight. Her mother was such a thin woman. Candy he'd dubbed her the one that got away now he finally had access to her and if he needed to make some quick cash he knew people from his club that would pay him for the pleasure of his well-trained sub. She wouldn't get away this time. He gets out of the car it pulls off as he walks to the front of Candy's home. Looking up at the second story he wondered if she had children. He sees the sticker in the window saying that her home was secured by Ivey Lock. He knew it wasn't on because the light on the porch had not snapped on and no audio repeated the message. The storm must have knocked out her power.
Down the street Diamond was furious Roman wasn't home. She couldn't wait for him here. Walking out she squints through the rain and in a flash of lighting she sees what looks like her dear old filthy father going into a house. She couldn't find Roman but she would get Kyle. She wondered why he would come this far into Grandville South. He had no power here. She walks down the street and stands behind the large bush at the end of the drive. He walks in like it's his house. "Living a double life Kyle? I'll end that one too." She says to no one as she watches to see if he came back out quickly. Her phone buzzes she ignored the call. This was going to be her best shot at him.
Kyle walked through Candy's home, he sees a picture of her sitting on her coffee table that look, she hadn't changed much if this was a recent picture. He walks into what must be a guest room, it was very impersonal. He walks out and into the next door it was a bathroom, it had been redone he could tell from the pristine flooring, either that or his child was an obsessive neat freak. He walks into her kitchen, well that proved his point, this flooring was clean but not at the level of the bathroom. He heads upstairs he could hardly contain his excitement at seeing his Candy. Stepping down on the forth step from the top he stops when it squeaks loudly. Holding his breath, he steps up again no squeak. He reaches the landing and let out his breath when he hears no movement. He walks into the first door. Here was her bedroom. All the frilly girlish bullshit he didn't allow her to have she'd made up for it. What pissed him off wasn't the pink and yellow décor and vanity mirror with a crafted ceramic chair. The room smelled of sex. The pictures on the walls downstairs had depicted her with a man a little taller than herself with dark curly hair. He doubted the man lived here no man worth his weight would reside in this room. The bed wasn't made he sat on it what was one more wrinkle. Getting up he walks to her computer running his finger along the space bar he pressed down and the screen came to life. There was no lock screen, he sits down, he would wait for her, and he has plenty of time. He would prepare for her, he gets back up with a grunt he hated that he was getting old. He was used to being the playboy. He walked into what he thought would possibly be her children's room it was a master bathroom with a massive Jacuzzi. He wondered what his girl did to make money like this. He soon goes back downstairs and finds her art room, what seemed out of place was among all the glass and clay sat three huge stacked keyboards that faced the window. He would have missed this room if he had not of thought of the way the house jutted out at the back this room was just beyond the kitchen. He looks up when he hears a sound whirling around he sees nothing. The storm had probably knocked something over. He was jumpy this is Grandville South and he was for lack of a better term on the run. Coming here he knew what he would need to make Candy submit he didn't need his weapon now that he was here he missed the hard steel and weight of his gun. What if the guy in the picture was a cop? He needed to calm down jumpy wasn't the persona he showed to the outside world. He walks into her dining room/living room and spies her liquor cabinet. He takes a bottle of Vodka up the stairs with him to her bedroom. Since he was sore from climbing her stairs he needed to take the sting out of his bones so he could keep up with his mid-twenties daughter if she returned tonight. He pops three of the pain pills he'd bought and washes them down with a swallowed of the Vodka. He'd surprise her he strips down and climbs into her Jacuzzi. Sitting the bottle on the ledge he drank and pleasured himself as the water rose and shifted around him.
Downstairs Diamond walks into the house. Tilting her head her former patient's image became very clear in photos she'd seen all of these people. She was related to him why else would he be here. The girl's statement when she'd mentioned their same last name played over in her head. "Too bad I'm an only child. My dad didn't have siblings so I doubt we're related" She'd showed Candy the picture and she said "No" Hearing water running inside she walks up the stairs she hit the squeaky one and Kyle called out to Candy asking was it her. So the girl had lied. Diamond thought about their names this girl had to be his child he liked naming his girls after names that could be mistaken for stage names. The girl was skinny she didn't look like a dancer so she had to be one of his girls. She runs into the bathroom he hadn't even got up to check he was sitting in her huge hot tub. "Candy couldn't join us." he goes to get up Diamond pulled her gun. She laughed with no humor in her tone. "Oh please try to run." He asked how she found him. "No you don't get to ask questions you get to answer them."
Kyle found himself staring at the business end of the gun he'd bought his Diamond for the second time in less than 48 hours. "Please Diamond I'm sorry. I didn't know that I had hurt Passion so badly." She screams at him to never speak her sister's name again. Swallowing hard he looks down at the water. She demands he look at her. His gaze snaps back up to her face. She asks him who Candy is to him and threatens to shoot him in the nuts if he lied. "My daughter from my first marriage." She asked him did the girl know she was his daughter. "She may not want to admit it but she knows. She ran away long time ago before I started dating your mother." She asked was Candy named after her mother's stage name. Kyle shuddered as she points the gun at his manhood demanding he answer her. "Yes. Please don't kill me." She asked what made her run away. "It won't help my case." She cocks the gun "Okay. Please don't. Candy ran because I tried to pimp her."
Diamond laughed and the gun shook in her hand "You tried to pimp her so does that mean you also tried to fuck her too? You don't seem the type not to sample your product." When he spoke of training Candy She aimed the gun higher "Just like you tried to train Passion or was she just for fun?" He said nothing when thunder shook the little house she pulled the trigger. He looked up at her and screamed in pain as his blood seeped into the hot tub. "SHUT UP" She'd shot him in the thigh. "Answer ME you son of a bitch. Or I'll put one between your legs. Training or fun?" he held his leg with both hands and said training. "Wrong answer, I'll admit there was no right answer. No amount of words will ever bring her back. You should have tried me I would have killed you and Passion would still be alive." He says through clenched teeth that she had already had sex before he could train her. The thunder boomed again and she shot him in the other leg. Lighting flashed as she aimed with tears in her eyes she says on a choked sob "This is for Passion" When the thunder rolled again she shot him in his manhood his body folded forward as his mouth open to release a scream but no sound escaped. She watched with a dark fascination as he then slumped forward face first into the water as more blood seeped from his body onto the surface of the moving water. Diamond walked out of the bathroom down the stairs and out into the heavy rain closing the front door behind her, she gets in her car and drives down the hill back to her home.
