Chapter 28

Life Goes On

Hours later Butch was let in to the ranch by his son. Logan asked him was Megan in custody. Butch saw the hope in his son's eyes. He shakes his head and says "No, son we found her body at the base of a tree." The pain in his boy's expression ripped Butch in half. "She was dead before we got there."

Logan walks away from his father, and sits down with a heavy sigh. He leaned forward, with his elbows on his knees, dropping his head. Many emotions warred for control as his body shook. Looking up at his father who had walked closer "What happened?" He says belying the raw emotional torrent that choked him.

Butch explains what happened according to the bits and pieces of information they were able to gain from the scene. "Her head landed on her gun. The trauma from her fall from the tree caused lethal brain injuries, all of which lead to compression of her brain, and result of the bleeding around the brain and a stoppage of her breathing. Their ruling the manner of her death a suicide." Butch rung his hands and continued speaking. "I pushed for accidental, but there was just too much to point to suicide. There was a large dosage of her antipsychotic drugs in her system, and we found an empty bottle. There was residue on her teeth, which lead the medical examiner to deduce, that she chewed the medicine, so that ruled out someone drugging her. Even though that's not what killed her. I'm sorry for your loss son, I know you loved her." Butch put his hand on his son's shoulder, Logan shrugged him off and walked out of the room.

Logan storms into the bathroom and starred back at his reflection. He was so tired of I'm sorry. Through the years Logan had made the same excuses for Megan that she made for herself, she's a hot head, his fiery little Red, she's wild, finding out all the shit that she'd been keeping from him still hurt. The disloyalty, her abuse of the children. The fact that her actions led to her death was not a surprise. Yes, he wanted a divorce, but he never wanted her to get killed, no matter whose hand it was at. Reading those text messages, he'd heard her voice in his head. His fear that she would hurt or kill him, or his son, was very powerful in his decision to stay away from her. Butch knocked on the door and asked him did he want to talk. Logan opened the door. "With everything crumbling right now, I just need to be with my son. If Susan believed what Megan told her, or her boss does, I'm cooked, they'll snatch him faster than I can blink." His father spoke and Logan numbly nodded at certain things as he walked his father back to his car. "B… See you later dad."

Hours later Logan stood in Mark's house. "Hey, I respect you more than to tell you over the phone." Mark asked what was up. Looking into the eyes of her brother, a man that called him brother, Logan closed his eyes as Paula walked into the room. Swallowing hard, to contain some type of hold on his emotions he asked "Where is Janet?" They said the interview with Greene took a lot out for her, and she'd went to bed right after dinner. It was almost another day, he hadn't thought about food. It was time to tell them before Janet woke up. "Mark, Megan." Mark asks what she has done now. "She killed herself" Paula walks over to Mark who stood frozen in the middle of the room. Mark asked what the fuck happened. Logan told them. Paula walks over to him, Logan put up a hand to stop her forward motion. "Mark you know I tried to do right by her. I only wanted the divorce because she scared the shit out me, and hurt Glenny. Mark looked angry and something else crossed his gaze. Logan nods at them both and turns to walk back to his truck. Paula says he knew it wasn't his fault right. Logan shrugs and points at the door "I...I got to get to Grandville and pick up my son. I don't know what's going to happen when the dust settles, but I want to spend as much time with him as I can." Mark tells him to call if he needed anything. "Will do, Thanks man."

He texted Candy

Logan Conner: Hey I really need to come pick up Glenny Secret word is not needed anymore but Tacos

Candy R: Hey okay why isn't it needed is she in Jail again?

Logan Conner: DRIVING

It was 2 am by the time Logan made it to Candy's home. He pulled his truck to her door, gets out of the truck, and before he could knock, her door opened about six inches. That was new, she usually never locked her door. Casting his gaze away from her face to the ground he says "It's just me" She invites him

"Hey what's wrong is your phone stuck in caps lock?"

He looked up at her, then lowers his gaze. "Yeah about that, I need to set it differently. It's an auto response." Logan stood just inside the door, on the drive here he was really having a hard time with this, but showing anything outward was a conflict for him, because people would just see that he was about to end the marriage and not understand. Something triggered her downward spiral, her chemical imbalance just made it that much more intense.

Candy went to get Glenny but Logan hadn't said anything about why their secret word was no longer needed. Looking back at him from her hallway, she stopped. He was standing there just inside the door, but he wasn't in the here and now. Deon came out of their bedroom and greeted Logan, he rose his gaze up to the banister and gave him a nod. She stopped on the middle step and ask "Logan what's wrong?" He looked at her and paused, his next words explained the look she'd seen it a few times.

"Megan is gone." Deon asked like on the run. "No, she killed herself. Can you just go get Glenny please?" Logan felt a heavy strain on his body holding himself in check it was tiring.

Deon opened his mouth Candy looked at him and he closed it and then said "Man that's rough". Logan nodded, Deon walked back in the bedroom. "I don't get it my queen. He looks like he is in mourn but hell the bitch tried to take him out." Candy pinned him with a look and told him not to say that too loud, and points at Glenny's sleeping form.

Candy woke Glenny who'd fell asleep on her recliner. Looking up at her his little confused just waking up expression mirrored the man down stairs. Glenny went to the bathroom then Mountain-climbed his way down the stairs. Candy walked down behind him with his sleep toy and a book bag, with his change of clothes in it. Deon stayed in the bedroom. As Glenny got to the second to last step, Logan seem to animate himself and walked over and picked up his son. Glenny wrapped his legs around his dad's torso and clung to him putting his head on Logan's shoulder. Logan spoke to his son in a low timbre, and walked to the door. Candy felt bad for the guy, but didn't know what to say. She understood Deon's confusion, but she also remembered those seconds of feeling like Deon had been taken away from her via this very house catching fire. They weren't together then, and the thought of never getting to get pass what had split them, made her see a little more of how Logan felt. Yes, Megan was a stark raving bitch, but what people had to realize, is that some point she must have been who he loved, or he wouldn't have stayed with her as long as he did. She only dated Deon a few years. To be with someone for nearly two decades then to have her kill herself, had to be eating at him. A knock sounds on her door. Logan looked through the paned glass, and turned back around saying it was Jonathon. Candy hoped Jonathon didn't upset Logan. Opening the door Candy greeted her boss and his mate. Gloria walked in and put her arms out for Glenny on a hesitant beat Logan let him be lifted out of his embrace. With his arms empty he stuck his thumbs back in his belt loops, Gloria asked did Candy mind their presence at this wee hour. "Ah no just try to keep it down Nikki is through there asleep." Candy points at her guest room. Jonathon speaks to Logan for a time and Logan puts his arms across his chest. The closed off gestures told Candy and all in the room that Logan was heading into the non-approachable area. Gloria sat on the sofa with Glenny who had fallen back asleep. The next thing out of Logan's mouth made Candy get up from her perch on the end of her sofa. But Jonathon shocked all in the room with his next gesture and words.

Jonathon looks at his kin. "Logan, Mark told meh what happened. And I'm sorry for your loss. If you need help of any kind, please know I'm here." Logan crossed his arms in front of his chest "She was my kin I understand your disquiet."

Logan stood rigid. Trying to contain himself "You understand my disquiet? Somehow I doubt that. The last thing I said to Megan was that she would never see us again. I was pissed at her and I told her goodbye. I never meant for her to kill herself. I never meant for her to kill herself." He just kept repeating it as his throat grew tight. Jonathon surprised him and grabbed him in a hard hug. Of which he didn't pull away. His next words were said on a rough breath.

"She was unwell, No one blames you for being angry. You didn't make her end her life. Her demons won lad. You've said yourself that she was ill in mind. None of this is your fault. You were angry because she was harming and innocent, she had hurt you in many ways." Jonathon lets go of Logan. "Believe meh I do understand some of the fight within your head right now. It took me a time to get through my own feelings of loss. We grieve because we love, we love people throughout our life, regardless of how a relationship ends. When we grieve the loss of a marriage from divorce, we also grieve loss of the future and loss of a life partner. So when an ex-spouse dies it is normal to grieve the loss. In either case, we grieve what might have been."

Logan sat on the sofa next to his child "We were together for 20 years. It was half my life. She suffered from mental illness and depression and our relationship became very destructive and abusive. At times I thought I was losing who I was, and that was a scary thing. I finally find the strength to leave, fearing for my son and my own survival. The signs were there that she would someday self-destruct, I didn't know in what form, and I tried to stop it on a few occasions but she did it." Unshed tears rimmed his eyes. He lowers his head looking at the floor. On a sigh he continues. "According to her last text messages she died broken hearted, fearful that she wouldn't be able to stop hurting those that loved her and alone. I knew my leaving would be the end of her. I live with that guilt and wish she was kind to me and the kids, the only people who loved her so much. I also know it was mental illness but that doesn't help the pain in my heart. I would never have left if she wasn't. I feel that God is punishing me for my decision to divorce her, I really did love her. I feel I deserve to be in all this pain."

Candy walked over and stood in front to of him. "Yes you would have left or she would have kill you, or Glenny. Mental illness is just that she was sick and it came at random times." Logan got up, saying he was out of here. Candy stepped back at his sudden outburst, Jonathon went to say something but stopped as he saw Deon come running down the stairs.

Deon who'd been at the top of the stairs came down and got in Logan's way. Candy tugged on Deon telling him to back up. "God isn't punishing you. You are, you were going to divorce the crazy bitch she did you a fucking favor, don't get loud with my queen because you are suddenly hurting. Live with it. Deal with it and move on." Logan who rarely got upset reared back and punched Deon square in the face knocking him on his ass.

Candy opens her mouth to say something Jonathon shakes his head and says "not right now. Are you okay Talent?" Deon stays seated and nods as Candy bends down in front of him. Jonathon looked at the look on his kin's face "Logan go home." Logan runs his hands though his hair and looks back at Glenny who was staring at him with those soulful eyes with his head on Gloria's lap. He sits up looks at Deon and says "daddy fall you." Deon climbs to his feet. Logan looked back at Deon in case he wanted his fucking lick back but Deon just said to Glenny that his head was harder than Logan's fist and that he was ok. "Daddy no fall Deon no more please, he steals my chips but he funny."

Later that day Chadwick's name and former relation is revealed Cassandra sits in the kitchen staring at the latest news feed. Rapture knocked on the back door. Sally walked in and looks at the huge silhouette standing at the back door. Her mom turned around in a circle and walked back out of the room. Her mom had spoken to her and Cassandra tried not to get defensive, her mom didn't fly off the handled she was very calm as she suggested that Cassandra not continue to peruse such a dangerous man, claiming that the pattern was unhealthy. She'd told her mom that Rap and Chadwick was like night and day. Where Chadwick dressed the part of an upstanding television personality, he beat her both mentally and physically. She tried to get her mom to understand that Rapture looked dangerous only on the outside, yes he had a lot of presence and the job that he had and his desired career path fit the image, but he was nice to her and she wasn't rushing into anything they were friends. Her mother was surprisingly not loud when she said for Cassandra to please just keep her eyes open. Cass let Rapture in and he gave her a loose hug touching him always seem to make her feel better. He was like harnessing energy. He suggested they get away from the area for a day and she wanted to, but didn't want to leave her mom at home alone she says she hoped he understood.

Sally walked back in the kitchen she'd paced but it just wasn't in her to not say anything. She greets Rapture and he returns her greeting making sure to put ma'am in the front. He asked her how she was doing today. "I'm fine Mr. Sloan." He didn't say anything like what Chadwick had said she would remember his words forever he'd said Hey none of that Mr. Denton stuff call me son, because Cassandra is mine. That's when Cassandra had waved a wedding band in her face and announced they'd run off to Vegas and got married. She didn't want to chase her little girl into another relationship where the male could manipulate, isolate, and hurt her again. So far Rapture was proving to be a contradiction to the way he looked. He suggested they head to the park. "Well I'll call you if I hear anything." When Rapture invited her to come along she thanked him for the offer but declined. Saying she had lots to attend to. Her daughter asked was she sure. The truth was Sally wasn't sure of much right now. Michael and his attorney were going to try to put some things right as his lawyer said the man named Spencer and his wife Mrs. Spencer had taken her statement. She was waiting to see if their moves and petitions to have the judge recuse himself for following the rhetoric of bias from the police officer's report and the news instead of proper procedure worked. "Bradley will be here shortly." Rapture said they could wait until her son came. "You don't have too but thank you."

Rapture still doubted him telling the matriarch of his woman's family about his name helped her like him any better, but the way she looked through him was kind of eerie. When she wasn't dodging his gaze all together. Cassandra's phone rings she answers it says yes this is she and the person could be heard crying. Cassandra paled and sat down she then says "I'm sorry for your loss. I'm not a part of his estate. We had no children and we got divorced before they got married. I'm not bragging." After hitting end. Cass turned to her mother. "That was Amber's mom, Amber's dead. Chadwick's old friend really owns a pig farm, a lot of the evidence against him was because they found bone gristle and her DNA in the soil of the pig pens. Her little sister remembers how he used to kid with her about feeding her to the swine. She'd been missing for weeks. They found her car about 10 miles away from the farm, then they found her remains." Sally hugged her daughter who was shaking. Cassandra looked up as Rapture walked over and sat next to her. "He used to threaten to feed my fat ass to the pigs when he would get pissed off. I took it as an empty threat, it turns out that he was that sick. They know he is dead and wanted to come after me as part of his estate for wrongful death of their daughter. I could have ended up as food." Images of memory of their fights and his threats and her low self-esteem based comebacks about she was too fat they wouldn't eat their own that could have landed her in Amber's place hit her hard as a fist. Also if that is what he meant when he threatened her life if she gave him problems about the divorce. Trying to stop shaking she just couldn't this was way above her level of shit to deal with. "Mom I really hate to leave, but I have to get out of here like now." Cassandra gets up and walks out of the back door as quickly as she could.

Sally watched from the kitchen window as her girl came undone and the large man held her as echoes of her loud cathartic cries filled the air. Chadwick had really killed one of his wives, and had come to their home to continue his murderous tirade. Rap stood with her for a time and then helped her into his vehicle they drove off.

2 Days pass Sally cleaned her home from top to bottom. Michael's last letter to her that Bradley had given her gave her hope. Her daughter and a security team had arrived and she now holds her grandson. Michael and Joshua had told Sally that Angel didn't like coming to their home, but she had come so Sally could see the baby. Sally was happy for the visit and invited her daughter and the team in but the team stayed outside. The younger man that Introduced himself as Andrew accepted her invite but mostly stood at the windows and spoke to his team. "Thank you for bringing him. Joshua says our car was in pretty bad shape according to his mechanic or I would have come to you."

Angel sat in the seat Joshua usually sat in when he was here. It gave her a visual line of the front door. She slid her gaze back to Sally when she spoke. "Phil is very good. He says your car should run like new soon. I meant to catch Cassandra so she could see him as well. Is she here?" Andrew turned back around from where he'd been staring out the window. Angel no longer kidded herself she thought at first having the STOP team back would just be temporary but since a fan tried to climb the back gate this morning, she knew Andrew and Bobby's team would be around for a time. Joshua went to the club today she knew that he was doing it so he wouldn't keep putting it off. Bradley was with him and so were a few of the STOP team. He texted her telling her that he'd made it there safely. Andrew had told her before Joshua's text came in but she was happy Joshua texted her himself. When she told him that she was coming here it surprised him, but Angel was doing this for two reasons, she was tired of letting her fear dictate where and what she did. She also wanted Sally to get to see and visit with JC. Later her and Candy had a gym date back at the house, it was time to get back into stage shape. LEGNA US Grandville was opening soon and Joshua and she had a few speeches to give. Her father was letting her help with the behind the scenes business. It was one thing to run your own small business and manage yourself and about 7 people, but it was an eye opening experience learning some of the things that went into running a large recording company.

It had been 4 days since Susan Green stood in this living room asking to speak to his lil girl. Janet had answered her questions. Mark knew if it was hard to listen to it was worse for Janet to have to relive it by telling it again. It was also four days after Megan took her own life. Mark had waited as long as he dared the funeral was next week he had to tell Janet. Paula came into the kitchen and showed him her news app. He read the headline and saw the kid that had put his fucking hands on his daughter. "So Megan shot and killed the little pervert no better for him." Shortly after Logan had left the night of Megan's death Mark had called Jonathon and he spoke to his uncle for the first time about something more significant than sports, Music or bullshit. Watching Logan stand in his living room and blame himself was not something Mark was going to talk about until his uncle asked and he did. Mark felt some of the same, Megan was his little sister, and these past few days he'd been pissed off at her for killing herself. Paula being there for him was a huge help. He guessed he hadn't told Janet because he really didn't know what to expect. When Nina died it was a crushing blow for them both, but Janet was nine and though she had a lot of questions that he didn't feel comfortable answering he did and they held up away from everyone in his cabin just him his girl and the memory of Nina. Paula had read another of her books about parenting but all it told him was to be straight with his teenager. Mark had always been a straight shooter when it came to talking to his girl or anyone for that matter. Janet walks into the kitchen and greets them they say their good mornings. "Janet come over here and have seat baby girl. There something I need to tell you"

Janet stood at the refrigerator holding the milk, she had heard that tone and saw that look in his eyes before and it didn't lead to I just bought you a pony. Her momma was looking at her too. She whispers "Daddy what wrong? The last time you used that tone you told me mom was dead. You're both sitting here so who died?" Her father tells her and she put the milk back in the fridge. "Bummer" She says as she walks back towards her room. Pain and Panic lay on her bed with her as she stared at the ceiling. Chris Jo and her aunt Megan died the day Mrs. Green showed up. Chris was a relief. He couldn't take her nowhere or hurt her anymore. Janet knew she was probably supposed to be sad about her aunt, like when her mother died, but she wasn't. Her mom never beat on her, or made her feel like running away. She should be crying and stuff, her Uncle Jonathon would say that kin was lost, but nothing was there. She'd cried for help and none had come. She wished that she would have told her dad sooner, but she'd been afraid of what he would do about her being bad enough to get hit in the first place. She felt guilty for not crying, but she wasn't going to fake it. A knock sounds on her door. Sighing she set up pulling her knees up to her chin as she fingered Pain's ear. "It's open." Her dad came in and sat on the end of her bed. He told her if she needed to talk he was here for her.

Mark looked at his little image of Nina as Janet turned on the bed to face him. Pain put her head on his lap he patted the big head. Janet's eyes were clear and that's what he came to make sure of. She says. "I know she was my aunt, and I know she was your sister and all that, but. Daddy I don't know if it was saying it all again, or what, but I just have no tears for her. All the hitting and screaming. She would get mad at me for talking about my mother, and she tried to erase all the stuff that I associated with mom, my bears, mom's bracelet, the only reason I still have the ring mom gave me was because I hid it in the floor board. Then when I went to Angel's house I hid it until I found out that momma unlike auntie didn't want to take mom's place." Janet's eye color darkened in anger as she spoke. "Aunt Megan was about to break mom's Casio that she taught me on, when I reminded her that it was not like you wouldn't notice it missing. Like the other stuff. For weeks I was afraid to go to school after she'd said one day I would come back and it would be gone. When you gave me the cellphone I started taking picture of the stuff that I had got from mom, so if Megan broke it I will still at the very least had a picture. I'm glad you gave me mom's locket after we moved here, at least I can wear it around momma, and she won't talk badly about me or mom. It may sound childishly cruel or heartless, but auntie tried her best to make you out to be a monster and momma out to be a homewrecker. She tried to erase or replace my mother. She never took me to see mom's grave. You said I could choose whether or not I wanted to go to Aunt Megan's service. I don't want to go. I can stay home and watch the twins they don't need to go. As far as Chris Jo being dead" Janet shudders and looks back up at him "At least he won't get to teach me any lessons and he won't get to hurt anyone else." Janet hugged her self. Mark put his arms out to his girl. Janet clung to him crying and whispered something that ripped him in two. "The other night after Miss Greene left and I went to sleep I dreamed about mom, I miss her so much daddy." Mark knew this might happen with Janet talking about her stay with Megan the events were so close together. Nina died and less the 2 months later he placed his daughter in hell on earth, with only short reprieves when Logan was home or he came off the road to recover.

Back at Ivey Mansion Angel and Candy walk down the stairs to the gym. Nikki was out of school and she wanted to watch JC. Angel pulled up her baby monitor on her screen on her treadmill. "So what was Deon thinking when he said that to Logan? I mean he had to know that wasn't the best time to upset him."

Candy types in her exercise plan on the stationary bike she sat on before she started peddling she replies. "He wasn't thinking. I texted Logan the next day and he admitted he wasn't planning on hitting him. I guess it hit him hard. I mean even though Megan was a certifiable nut case by the time we met her, she couldn't have been like that all of her life or all of the marriage or I don't think Logan would have stayed as long as he did."

They work out, it was nice to be getting ready to get back out there and rock some more. Angel helped Joshua pick a new tour jacket design, she couldn't wait for it to arrive. It looked a lot like the one Candy bought for her. Angel looked at her screen and watched Nikki talk to JC as she fed him. Her baby boy was so sweet. Learning that Megan was dead and would not be coming after her or her baby anymore, was such a relief she felt bad for Logan since he seemed to be taking it understandably hard, but unlike Deon she would never voice her thoughts to him about his dead wife. Angel turned her screen back to her exercise plan. When her father came to the house and told her that Megan was dead, she was relieved and so was he, he'd said that her demons got the best of her, but Angel was just glad that Megan could no longer hurt anyone. Finding out that she had trapped someone in a room in her home and shot someone made it even more clear how depraved Megan had become. After reading the news article Sophie found she just went to JC's room and watched him sleep that night.

The day after Megan's death Logan went to finish off the back porch of his Grandville home. Bradley called him with some trouble with his account and the verification of Logan's business account. The account wasn't put in correctly by Bradley's bank because of past trouble on his account. Logan knew Bradley's criminal history and knew he'd bounced checks in the beginning to pay for drugs. The woman treated Bradley so badly that Logan pulled Bradley aside and suggested he move his account down the street into Ivey Bank saying it was the same bank Conner Construction's checks were written on, so he wouldn't have as much trouble and the woman was being a shit to him even though he'd paid the money back and had a positive balance even before Logan's check cleared. Bradley said that the bank manager had told him if he withdrew his money that no other bank would take him. Logan told Bradley that Ivey Bank may charge a little more but they would treat him a lot better and could help build his credit. Bradley walked back to the window and asked to speak to a money liaison. The woman hadn't looked at how many zeros was behind the 5 on the last transaction that had cleared and had almost rip Bradley off until Logan brought her attention to it. She tried to over talk him and he let her speak then showed her where the numbers didn't add up considering his check had just cleared that day. "Young lady you might want to check the attitude at the door. This is your place of business, there is no way he only has 585.00 in his account." She refreshed her screen and spoke to her manager, when all was said within a half an hour Bradley had over 6 grand to put into his new account at Ivey Bank. After getting that straight Bradley had thanked him and asked did he need any help. Logan said sure. Bradley helped with his home in Grandville when Glenny needed to be away from the flying dust of tearing out the back deck Bradley would take him in front of the house to let him ride his bike. That night they both looked like mud buddies driving back to the ranch. After getting back and grabbing a shower they sat on the deck of Mark's home and Logan told Glenny that Mimi Meg wasn't coming back, Glenny looked at him and said he not want her too. Logan told Glenny that Mimi Meg loved him as Megan had asked him to in her final text message. Glenny shook his head no and said Mimi Meg was mad at him like his mom was mad at him for not being a good boy. Logan had no words he knew Megan and Carla had put that crap in his boy's head he figured he would if given the chance, just continue to prove the running mantra wrong with his actions and how he would continue to interact with his son.

Three days later Logan and Glenny head from the Ranch he needed to decide what he was going to do with his former home. At a stop light he meets his son's eyes in the mirror. "Hey Sport want to stop by and grab something to eat? We have a long work day today." Glenny nods holds up his plastic hammer and says can it be tacos? "You're going to turn into a taco it's only 8 in the morning how about the diner they have pancakes?" Glenny does his thinking finger to mouth pose, and says pancakes with syrup? Logan smiled and asked "is there any other way they have them?" Glenny shakes his head no. He'd called Bradley and asked could he spare a few hours to help him clear out the house. He really didn't want to bother Mark or Jonathon, though they had said to call if he needed anything, he just didn't want to stir anymore hives like at Candy's home. Bradley told him that he no longer has the use of his Former roommate's car so could he come get him from his parents' home. Logan told him sure he was the one asking for help. After picking up Bradley they head to his home. Even though there was no one there the feelings of unease hit him like a fist as he drove onto their street. His eyes still darted to where Glenn had been parked on Christmas night. He knew that staying at the house wasn't a good idea, they hadn't even reached the door and Glenny walked slower and slower as they walked up the driveway. Opening the door the smell of paint and musk met his nose. Glenny clung to him as if at any moment the house would swallow him. Logan turned the air on and opened the vents all the way. Nikki had said in a text that she was watching JC but could watch Glenny if he needed her to. The truth was Logan needed his son with him right now. When the house started to cool down from being locked up for four days Logan walked further in and he, Bradley and Glenny went to work packing up things, he'd left behind when he moved out. At one point Logan stood in their living room and the erg to say fuck it and toss all this shit in the trash was very strong. The living room set was Megan's department. He could give less than a damn where to put the couch, or the end table, or the love seat, as long as he had a place to sit when he walked into the living room he just didn't give a shit. Bradley comes and leans in the doorway Logan looks up when Bradley calls his name.

Logan had been standing in the middle of the Living room for a good 20 minutes, Bradley figured he'd try to get his boss moving in another direction. "Hey what did you want me to do with the removable appliances here in the kitchen? This is some stuff I would have never thought of building into a wall unit. I mean I get the set in fixture of the fridge and the stove but and in wall coffee pot or in wall mixer." Logan walks over and flips a switch. "Whoa did the island just slide into the floor?" Logan tells him to step back and a wooden square rises up 5 feet from where the island sunk into the floor. With small clicks the box soon forms a kitchen table that would seat 8 with bench seats. "OK now your just showing off. I should have paid more attention in shop class." Bradley chuckles. Logan tells him that wasn't a shop trick more like 4 years of engineering. "Okay so do that one more time." Logan flips the switch and the table disassembles and sunk back into the floor to be replace by the island. "What made you think of doing that?" Logan smirks and says he always wanted to do something functional before they got the permit to build on to the house they didn't have and upstairs or a dining room. "No wonder I couldn't think of the style for this place. It's a tricked out ranch. Man, when I get the money together will you come help me pimp my house?" Logan asks him a few questions, at times Bradley almost forgot who he was talking to. Logan was his boss, and some shit he didn't know if he should say or not. But hell he was not here as the guy's employee so when he asked about Bradley's current situation Brad told him. "I mean man, I knew it wouldn't be a permanent fix or nothing, but she really did me dirty. One day I can use her car the minute I get finished putting in her flooring she called. With everything that was going on I spaced it, and the next thing I know she threatened to call the cops if I didn't return her ride. I got it back to her in quick fashion. I don't have time for games. Being sober sucks, I'm just tired of people holding shit over me. So right now I'm staying at my parent's house. The good thing about that is, my mom doesn't have to be there alone. This freaking protection order business with my dad is taking longer because the court and that judge screwed up. I don't know if it's such a hot idea for me and my dad to be under the same roof for a long time. We are doing ok, and I want to keep it that way. I've asked Cass did she want to move in with me, and she flat out told me I am not the best of roommates. Besides now she'll probably end up moving in with her friend. Hell when I try to get an apartment even in G North they look at my record and deny me the minute I walk in the door." Logan asked a question about how he was getting to the work sites with no car. Bradley didn't need Logan thinking that he couldn't do his job if he lost this job what the hell was the fucking point of trying. "Logan, I got two feet and a heartbeat. You're the first person that has given me a fighting chance, if I have to walk from Pyramid to G South I will, until I can get some wheels under me. I've done it these past few days and you can ask anyone of those guys I'm never late. It's only a 40 minute walk to the Davenport from my parent's home and when he can Joshua said he'd drop me off at the parent's house after my shift." Logan suddenly runs pass him and out the back door. Bradley follows the sound of screaming. The back yard was closed in so it wasn't like the kid could get out.

Logan charged out on the back deck to find Glenny had stuck his finger in between the latch and the door and couldn't get it free. Glenny screamed daddy and ow. Logan tells Glenny to stop pulling that he would get his finger free. Logan tried sticking his finger between the little bars that closed the back door but it was stuck. A shiver of panic went up his spine he'd take the mechanism out altogether if he couldn't get Glenny loose. Getting down in front of his son he reaches out and touches the catch Glenny said it hug too hard. A mantra of the word shit was running like a heard of bulls through Logan's head. Speaking in a calm tone he says "Bradley get a Philips screwdriver please. Glenny's finger is trapped in the door latch."

Bradley walks out without a tool and Logan was about to say something when Bradley holds up butter and says "Don't think badly about me, but I did this before when I was a little guy." Bradley walks over so the kid wouldn't freak out more than he already was. Logan watched him like a hawk. While looking Glenny in the eye Bradley smears butter on his hand and sticks his finger to Glenny's and pushes gently. Saying "you're free you're free." In a high voice as his dad did way back when he was a kid. Glenny's red little finger slid out from between the little bar and door frame and he sticks it in his mouth as tears roll down his cheeks. Logan hugs him and they both look at his hand when he takes it out of his mouth.

Logan says as he holds his son "Thanks Brad", Bradley nods and carries the tub of butter back in the house. Glenny had scared the hell out of him. "Sport, how did you get your finger in there?" Glenn says he was trying to open the door and his finger got stuck. "Glenn Dale why didn't you use the knob?" Glenny looked at him from under his bangs and said it was locked. Logan reaches up and turns the knob. "Did you check?" Glenny shook his head and said he wasn't posed to touch the handle. "So that would explain the hand print near the latch. "Glenn from now on if you are coming in the house or entering a room and you can reach the knob, try to turn the knob ok sport. Or if it is locked knock on the door." Glenny sniffled from where he was calming down. "Let's see your finger. See it's not red anymore don't do that anymore you scared me almost as much as you scared yourself." Glenny says he won't it hug too hard. Logan picked up his son and they head in the house. Bradley had packed up the cabinets the boxes and boxes of stuff just made Logan long to get the hell away from here. "Okay Bradley now that the house isn't trying to keep a part of my son, I was going to make a suggestion or a few of them."

Within a few more hours Bradley now not only had a home but a vehicle. Logan had surprised the fuck out of him but thankfully it was a good surprise. Bradley would purchase the house like rent to own by owner. That way he could afford it and wouldn't have to get approved by a real-estate company. Logan asked him how much he had on him Bradley had pulled out what he was going to pay his parents for staying there. Logan went in the garage and pulled out the exact same car Bradley had lusted after as a young adult in the same color. Logan handed him the keys and title and told him to take care of it. Bradley was now the proud owner of a very well maintained 1992 Dodge Stealth. He wasn't even charging him for the car all Bradley had to do was get the title switched which was a whole lot easier than trying to get and auto loan. When he asked Logan was he sure he said that Bradley had saved him from having to take apart the back door, and he wasn't going to be driving the car, so why not give it to someone that was at the very least trying to rebuild his life. Logan was #1 in Bradley's book, he not only didn't look down on him for his past but he seemed to give a fuck without pitying him. "Logan you won't regret this man thanks so much." Logan says he better not, he can definitely say he knows where Bradley lives.

"But seriously Brad thank you, because like I said before this is mutually beneficial, you get a place to stay. I don't get a stressed out Forman, and I get to sale the house to someone that's not going to trash it. You get a car and I get to give it to someone that can use it. It will also come in handy when our site changes. When I pulled it out of the garage that is about how far I am willing to drive it now that she's gone." Taking a shuddering breath, and sighing Logan continues. "I'm giving her bikes to Mark he's going to donate them to charity for me. I'll help you put in a window in the room off to the side of the den."

Bradley goes to his parents' home that night he drove up, and couldn't park in the driveway there was a fleet of cars limning the driveway and along the street. "What the hell?" he says as he finally finds a parking space across the street. Walking up to the door he'd tuned out the press long time ago. It was like they weren't even there. Heading up to the front door it opens before he can even put his key in by Andrew Stark the security guy that usually rode with Angel and Joshua. So one of or both of his siblings was here. When he walked in, he instantly knew why. Sitting on the couch was his mother and his father. Attorney Spencer brings everyone up to speed, telling them that the judge recused himself, and the officer that sent his client's face into the floor hard enough break his nose was now on suspension and was being investigated by Internal Affairs. The protection order was dropped which was why his client was home with his family tonight. He said this wasn't near over but at least the wheels were turning in their favor for right now. Bradley watched from the doorway as Joshua picked up his son and brought him over so Bradley could hold him. Bradley held his nephew and announced his good news yup today was one hell of a day.

Later that night Cassandra returned to Rapture's condo she lay on his sofa. He was getting ready to go to his club saying that he had really not had a lot of time to finish the week's managerial duties. He did his own books and she didn't feel like going back to her home right now. She was glad her daddy was able to go home, her mother would not be at the house by herself anymore. Rap asked her if she wanted to come with him. Cassandra wanted to stay here and just veg but found that she also wanted to think about something else beside her ex-husband. Too many things brought her thoughts back to Chadwick. Even thinking about the fact that her parents would once again be home alone. Rapture came back in the room pulling his leather owner's vest over his Dark Knight Paradise Club muscle shirt. His long lean frame captured her attention as it usually did when he was around. He smirks and licks his lips bending down to kiss her. Putting both of his hands on either side of her face he gently pulled her to him and kissed her. The lingering taste of his mouthwash met her tongue. She didn't know if it was a trust thing, or what, but she always kept her eyes open when kissing him, and he did the same he said he liked to see her pleasure in her eyes. He ran his hand down her front and cupped her breast. Her breath caught at his touch. She encircles his neck drawing small circles with her fingertips on his nape, that action made him cup her other breast with his other hand, and play with her though her silk shirt that she'd worn to work today. He kisses down her neck telling her to lean her head back. She does, if he kept this up he was going to miss work. He was lighting her on fire and the fact that he was hard as a brick through his jeans, told her that she was affecting him as well. "If you keep this up your going to miss work" she huffed out on a breath filled with passion.

Rapture grins down at his woman. "Come with me. I'd stay here and continue my torture of you, but my staff has a problem with not getting paid." He chuckles. He'd saw her fall apart after finding out how fucking sick her ex was. They didn't have to talk about it. Rapture brought her back to his place, and he'd made it his mission to make her just forget and experience pleasure. The world would provide enough pain. He'd wanted to be her pain pill, her relief. Today was a good day for her family, but he saw the troubled look in her eyes when her brother announced that he was moving out. Her father told her not to fret. Her younger brother had pulled Rapture aside and told him that Cass felt since her ex was the cause of all this she felt torn between staying with her parents and leaving them alone. Both he and Joshua had told Cass that Chadwick's invasion of their parent's home and abuse of their mother was not her fault, and that not even her parents blamed her so she shouldn't blame herself. Her sister Angel spoke to her and the redhead made sense and just when Cassandra was about to tell her that she didn't understand. Rapture liked the newest part of the Davenport clan, but when she told Cass that she understood better than anyone and revealed that her ex had tried and almost succeeded in killing her father Chase Ivey so she understood all too well the thoughts and feelings of guilt that Cass was going through. Rapture respected the little redhead that much more. Not many people in his friend circle or even his family for the matter, would put their life on display to tell you you're not alone. She gave Cass a card with a name on it, and told her this person helped her sort out her head. Joshua hugged his wife closer to his side and Angel's tone evened out. Cass took the card read it and said she'd make an appointment. Rapture wasn't really into the shrink thing, but if it helped where he couldn't, then he was all for it. Right now though he wanted his woman to share another part of his world. She'd read up on some things. Cassandra confessed to him that she was afraid of the place, that in her early 20s gave her a sense of foreboding. He admitted that back then it was best that she didn't walk into Kyle's club just because she was 21. Kyle would have had her for breakfast, and the local law wouldn't have done shit. Yes, Cass was kinky, and they had played, but he still held back, he didn't know where her limits were, and he didn't want to push her too far. It was bad enough that she got injured with the car crash, and he was glad she had healed, but he still had reservations about showing her. With the shit she'd revealed, it kind of made him notice shit about himself, he didn't want her comparing him to that little jive time fucker she'd married. Even if Chadwick had brought her to Kyle's club there wouldn't have been much in the way of Kyle getting to her. Chadwick was a loud mouth with no balls that like to beat and bad talk women, put a real man in front of him and he hid like a little bitch. Cass brought him back to the present as she rubbed her hand down his chest to his crotch.

Cass had noticed him go still and his eyes though looking at her were kind of off. She'd thought about it and decided to go to his club. Reading books and stuff online wasn't doing anything but making her nervous with the anticipation. They had gone in the day time, but this was night time when the patrons or members would be present. Rapture told her that he wouldn't take her if he believed for a second that he couldn't protect her. Hell he was a bouncer and planned on trying to get into Mark Callaway's wrestling school when it opened. He'd made changes to how the club was ran. Cass hoped that everything went ok she strokes his crotch he jutted his hips forward and seemed to refocus on her. "What were you thinking about just now? You were out to lunch there for a minute." He says he was thinking about her on his desk in his office. "Well if it will please you that much I'll go with you tonight. All I ask is no cameras please, not the image I want to put forth with LEGNA that's not the image I want getting leaked to any websites." He assures her that he doesn't record inside of his office or in his personal room, because just like her, though for different reasons, he wouldn't want his dick all over the web probably would get him a lot of shit with trying to become a pro wrestler, some of the names he came up with made her giggle. "Yes I'm sure Big Dick Rap wouldn't go over so well with WWE family branding, when you make it through the Undertaker's school." He smirks and says he likes that she said when instead of if. "It's only if, when you are not putting your all into it. Let me get dressed and I'll come with to your club, and maybe you can make me cum other ways after your staff is paid." He swats her on the ass, as she gets up and tries to dash to the bathroom.

Rapture sits on the couch waiting for her to pop out of the bedroom, he knew if he went in that bathroom with her they wouldn't get out of the front door. Shortly Cassandra walked out of the bedroom, her makeup was done heavier, but not reaching the gothic planes it once had. She wore a fitted red romper, which hugged her curves, without making her look like a stuffed wiener casing. The best part was she wore his chain that he bought her. Smiling up at him as he stood they head out and get in his Ford Expedition.

Riding through G north at night was a weird experience, Cassandra hadn't been through here at night since she lived here over 15 years ago. Rapture put his hand on her thigh she must have looked uncomfortable. He says everything is ok, she fingers her chain that he'd bought her. They soon pull up to his office door on the side of the club. Getting out he has her proceed him into the club. 10 feet from his office and she would be in the relative safely of his lockable office. When he opened the door she tensed at the feeling that she got even as a younger adult when driving by here at night. The lighting was lower and streams of neon darted here and there. The bar was visible she badly wanted a drink. She keeps her eyes focused on his office making it to the door she let out the breath she hadn't realized she was holding. Some chick was hanging upside down between two guys on the stage that was for exhibitions. Rapture follows her into his office, the moment he closed the door he tells her their just people and to relax. She walks over and sits in the chair across from his desk. He sits down beside her. "What are you doing?" he asked could he get her anything. "A rum and Coke would go good right now." He smirks and says that he could do right here in the office. Cassandra was soon sipping her drink and watching him work from the other side of his desk. She gets up and walks around his office. She gets to a door "does this lead to the bathroom" he looked up with a strange look in his eyes, and tells her that it leads to his personal room. Do you mind if I?" He waves for her to go ahead.

Rapture finished his books, and made a few orders, he kept an ear out for Cassy. He didn't have a bat swing in his personal room because he didn't do exhibitions and didn't like to share. Though the thought of her upside down spread eagle for him was a pleasurable thought. A knocks sounds on his door. Getting up he moves to his door and opens it a crack. His head of security was on the other side with a frown on his face. The guy just points to a middle aged member. Rapture followed his security captain out onto the main floor. When Rapture saw money change hands and one of his waitress be pushed towards one of the private rooms. Rapture got in the man's way. "You might want to get your money back buddy, he's no pimp and she no call girl. We have an assortment of perfectly willing females." The woman looked like she was two seconds from using her stun gun on the out of towner. The boy got in Rapture's face his head of security stepped up and put a hand out to back the fucker up. The out of towner got pissed and yanked on the waitress saying she was his he bought her. "Okay you want to play stupid fine. Chuck get him the fuck out of here." The wanna be pimp walked up and said that the out of towner was his guest. Rap turned around and snatched his members' only card that he was brandishing like a badge. "You don't run girls in my club." The guy mutters its Kyle's club. "Yeah well Kyle's dead, so ownership falls to me." The guy says he's an important figure in this town. "I know who you are Councilman Clarke and if you don't get out of my establishment, I'll make sure to make your little activity public when I throw you into the street." The guy walks backwards towards the exit. Rap tells one of the other security guys to make these two get off the property. He turns to his waitress "Mary are you good?" she says she was fine and thanks. When she steps to him to give him a peck on the cheek he dodges her attempt and says "A thanks will do" She asked was he nervous about the important guy closing down the club. "Nope, if he tries he's not going to want to be associated with this place, it's getting close to election time, besides I don't have to worry about the shit Kyle had to worry about covering up, I'm not running drugs and prostitutes in here, so what you see is what you get. You might get an eye full but it's all legal." Rapture heads back into his office Cass calls from his room "Yeah babe, it's just me." Closing down his program and sinking his laptop back into the panel in his desk. Rapture walked into his room. Cass sat in one of his chairs in her underwear with her legs crossed. She was wearing a black lace set. Rapture points to the table in the center of his room. "No wonder you sounded concerned." Cass gets up and moves over to the table she climbs up and sits straddling the table. He takes off his vest and walks over and starts kissing her while locking her into place. He went for the blindfold and she stopped moving just froze her breath coming in short rasps. "Babe your fine" he kisses down her exposed front. "This is to heighten your pleasure." He meets her eyes as he slowly runs his short cropped beard up her stomach back to her breast. She breaks eye contact and looks at her bond wrists. Getting an Idea he gets swim goggles that way she could see him but not have sight of anything else around her. She appeared to be warring with herself. "What's going on in that head of yours?" he sticks his finger under her underwear and starts stroking her center. She starts to calm down and press up against his finger he adds another, he moves down and locks her foot into the strap and then her other. The table was able to separate he starts to move her legs apart once again she tensed. She asked on a huff of a whisper why he wanted her like this. "Too much are you okay?" She said nothing after asking again and getting no response her lips were no longer in a pouty o, they were firmed in a straight red line he walks slowly back up to her side when he lifted the goggles her eyes were puffy and red he started undoing the leather straps on her wrist and made quick work of freeing her ankles.

Cassandra sat up the minute he freed her from the table. He closed the table at the foot and sat next to her. Wiping her eyes and coming away with her makeup. She felt like she was letting him down. Shit got too real too quick. "I'm sorry this was just too close to, never mind." He tells her not to apologize and to please just talk to him. "This is too close to the being trapped thing, I thought I could get over it, but too many memories of being locked to my fucking bed. I know it's not fair to you, but the minute you locked my ankles to the table I just broke." He asked her what memories saying he couldn't not do something if she didn't tell him where her limits were. "For a long time I believed him, that since we were married he had the right to do anything he wanted whether I wanted to or not. I signed myself over to him the moment I said I do. We didn't have a table like this, ours was the straps that you buy and put under the four corners of the bed. Your swing at home gives me a different kind of restraint that, I can deal with, because if you left me in the room I could get out by myself. My clumsy ass would probably land on my fucking head, but I could get free. I don't like being blindfolded because I've been left in certain positons too long alone. Like I said it's not you, but once you've been left strapped to your bed a few times for hours, the thought of willingly letting yourself be strapped to anything that you feel you can't escape on your own kind of tugs at you." She looked at Rap in profile he was clenching his jaw so hard she figured it was time to put her clothes back on, she wasn't as kinky as she'd thought, and had ruined his fun. "Look, I know you're pissed, you said not to apologize, but I just don't know what else to say but I'm sorry." He closed his eyes and breathed out of his mouth. She gets up and walks over to where she'd discarded the romper.

"Stop" Rapture snapped out of his angry fog when she went to get up and walk away from him. "Yes I'm pissed, but not at you. I wish you would have told me this a little sooner. You did so well with the swing and the cuffs in my condo, but I can see where since you weren't totally immobile that wouldn't freak you out as much." She turned and hugged herself. "Cassandra I'm not Chadwick, and if you don't tell me your limits before you break it's never going to get any better. When I said it was for your pleasure I meant it. I don't want your apology and stop putting yourself down. The whole clumsy comment was to put levity into the situation. Honey, I wouldn't leave you alone, hell you set my blood on fire just looking at you." He gets up and walks to her taking her clothing out of her hand and dropping it on the bench. "This is about trust and making you happy. Please don't lock yourself away in your head. If something I'm doing starts hammering at you, say something why do you think I don't work with gags? I want to hear your moans or if I'm fucking up, I want to hear you tell me that too, then I know where your limits are. Seeing you cry just now, and knowing I was the cause made me angry at myself. That shit about he can do whatever he wanted was marital rape." His lips firm in to a grim line before he continues. "I'm not here to conquer you, or force you to do anything. You're not my sub, in the sense that I don't give a shit. You're my mate, and I want to show you a few things, and we'll find our middle ground, but honey I need you to speak up. If I didn't look up and see that your facial expression changed I wouldn't have known. I'm not here to break you." He puts his hand under where her makeup was cascading down her cheeks. "Pleasure you, and get pleasure from it sure. Break you or hurt you, not my job. I got an idea." Taking off his muscle shirt and stripping out of his jeans and underwear he stands before her. "Where do you want me?" She looked confused and says but he was. "I like a spicy little woman that needs to learn that she can trust me, and the best way I can think of to do that, and let you know that I'm not just one sided in this thing, is to give you control of my pleasure." She asked had he ever done this before. He smirks and says "Oh sure thousands of times Not." She asked what his limits were. Was he really going to do this? Taking a breath, he launches into his list "I don't do things that can scar the skin. No knives, no chains, you are not to use fire play, and since you are new to this game, no breath play." The look on her face was priceless. Struggling to suppress a laugh he says "so where do you want me." She points to the table. Hopping up on the thing was strange he'd never been on his own table, unless he was mounting some nameless female. She stared into his eyes. She asked was he okay? "Yup" she takes his arms out to his sides and cuffs him to the table it had three arm positions she'd picked the cross position. She smirks at him. Runs her hand down his chest down past his happy trail and over his sex, which twitched in her hand. Closing his eyes, he lets his head fall back. Next was her strapping down his ankles. He opened his eyes when she moved. Spreading the table, she walked in between his now open legs and played with him. She kept eye contact with him when she licked him. His whole body jerked. She placed her hand on his chest as if she were holding him down, and went to work on him taking him as deep as she could. Closing his eyes, he felt her mouth on his member and groaned the word "Fuck" through his teeth. When he thought he was about to lose his mind she stopped, his eyes popped open. She smirked and licked her lips saying she wanted him inside of her. "You're the boss" he rasped out. Putting the sides of the table closer together she climbed up and straddles him placing her hands on his chest and easing down on him. The erg to snap his hips up to meet her was overpowering. Leaning down she nips his nipple the small amount of pain increased his pleasure. Biting his lip, he tried to hold back the erg to move, she used him as her personal dildo. He lay his head back and the warmth that shot through him at her touches and many little nips and jolts of pain made him ready to rocket off the table like a spaceship. She put her finger in his mouth and told him to suck. He tasted them on her hand. He caught her finger with his teeth gently giving her pressure but not pain. She sank lower on him his hips snapped up to meet her. There was that look of pleasure on her face. They played for hours he found with her, he really had no hard limits. Not even when she got off him and used some of his toys on him. Being at her mercy was pleasing her and he hoped she saw that she could trust him as much as he trusted her. When she straddles his chest and told him to eat her he tried his best to obey, but one thing about this table he only had so much play at this angle. Her knee slipped and she landed on his chest knocking the wind out of him. He instructed her on another way to go about this. The table had a tilt function she did that and he could get at her better without her slipping and falling on him. She undoes his wrists saying she wanted his hands on her. Now that he was able to guide her movement he tilted the table back into position and let her scoot higher. Where her thighs encircled his head he supported her back with his hands when he clamped down on her, she jolted and her juices rewarded him as did her moan of pleasure.

They soon shower and get dressed she was all smiles as they head out of his office door. Walking outside to his vehicle Cassandra is suddenly snatched up by a man with liquor on his breath. He said something about she would do as payment. "RAP!" Cassandra screams. Rapture slammed his hand down on the guy's shoulder he let her go. Cassandra runs tripping over her own feet but staying up long enough to get in Rap's vehicle locking herself in. She watched as Rap sent the fucker into the wall. Seeing something shiny she opened the door and screams "He has a knife." Rapture turned the guy's wrist at a peculiar angle until he released his switchblade. Rap moved quick as he kicks the weapon away from them and starts really letting the fucker have it. Two guys almost as big as Rapture come running out and Cassandra thought it was going to be 3 against her lover. She stopped and pulled the door closed as the guys must have been in Rapture's employ because they held the guy up and was marching him to the front of the club. Had she just called him her lover?

The next few days, pass with no issue Logan stands in his new home tying his tie the one Megan always picked for him. Glenny walks into the room with his crocodile. Logan looked back at his son who had on his suit pants and that was about it. "Um sport let's put Chomp down we need to get ready okay." Glenny asks can Chomp come too. "Um no you're not spending the night where we are going. We're going to see Mimi Megan." He pouts and says he wants to go to the park. "Not to today okay." Glenny said he wanted to go to the park. Logan spun around and faced his little boy pointing at him. "GLENN DALE go get your clothing on." Glenny ran from his room. Sighing Logan undid his tie and threw it on the bed. His dad called and asked was the door unlocked he says no and soon opened the front door and is met with his parents, Glenny darted pass him with his shirt done half way he greeted his mother with his newest name for her Granny P. Penelope was a mouth full at three and his mom didn't mind. He was wearing his light up sneakers. Sighing Logan says "Glenn dress shoes please. Hey mom, hey dad." Logan says as he rubs his temples he'd had a headache for about day now. Seeing his parents, he wished that his marriage had of worked out. Butch had another toy for Glenny and asked for the grand tour. Logan shows them around his new home. His dad asked when the security system would be switched over. "It's not I sold the house." His dad always the cop, went to hammering at him about a proper security system. "I know dad and I'll get one but right now I just needed to be away from that place."

Penelope watched as her son lumbered around the house." Logan can we speak please?" She heard from her niece Beth that Logan was taking the death of his wife hard and she hated to see him in pain. She'd seen the look in his eyes when he opened the door. He says sure and walks into his bedroom. Butch went in search of Glenny to give him his toy. "So, I'm going to ask what the family has not, how are you, son?" He shrugs and says he is above ground, so he must be fine. "Logan look at me dear." He focused on her and said he just didn't get it, he did everything he could think of, and still his marriage blew up in his face. He explained how he missed the signs or maybe he wasn't looking in the right direction. "No matter how bad it hurts or how bad you feel, it's time to stop thinking about Megan who played with your feelings, who took your love for granted, who never appreciated your care, Logan you can't continue feeling sorry for yourself thinking if you did more than it would have changed the outcome. You couldn't fix her" He crossed his arms across his chest and looked up at the ceiling. "When it's all said and done, you can't make someone want to fight as hard as you did to want the marriage to work out." He rolls his eyes and sighs saying she'd didn't understand. "Firsthand, no I don't and don't want to. Logan if Megan wanted it to work out as badly as she claimed and badly as you wanted, she wouldn't have done such irreparable damage to your relationship in the first place. You deserve someone that will love you for you, and who will appreciate you, and won't attempt to hurt you with infidelity or violence towards you or that little boy in there, that looks up to you. You will get over this pain you're in right now, and you'll be happy again." His silence was a noise of itself. "You're angry because I'm right" he says she sounded like she was suggesting he just up and jump into another relationship. "No, for now, your happy may not include a relationship. Maybe it's you, and your son on your own, picking up the pieces and starting over, freeing yourselves up for something better in the future. Maybe your happy is just moving on. What will surely deny you happiness of any kind, is this idea that you could have changed the unchangeable. You were going to divorce her before she could hurt you or your son anymore. Now she can't and her demons are finally quiet."

Logan his son and his parents get in the black hummer limo that arrived. Glenny sat next to Logan and showed him what Grandpa gave him. Logan took the small toy and turned it over in his hand. "I guess you're a Jr. Police officer now huh?" Glenny reaches for the toy and tries to put it on his collared shirt. The huge plastic clamp was for pants Logan takes the thing before Glenny rips his shirt trying to get it on. "Hey Chief you can wear it like this." Glenny's next question was one his father probably asked himself a lot. Glenny asked him why he wasn't a polish man. "Daddy likes to build things like your tree house. Glenny announces he is going to be polish man with a hammer. "Glenny whatever you become when your bigger whether it a police man or a construction guy or something else, I'll still be proud of you as long as you try your best." Logan's mother words slam into to him. Maybe it was time to focus more on him and his son. The not knowing was driving him nuts but he couldn't just worry about that because right now his son was with him and needed him more than he ever did before.

Everyone was going too pile into the little church Mark's parents were married at. Megan's body would be shipped to Dublin Ireland and laid to rest along with the rest of their kin that had passed. Today was to say goodbye. Jonathon as the oldest living McBride was holding himself responsible for the arrangements for after the service to get her sent to Ireland and laid among their kin. In the viewing Jonathon walks up to the raised dais that his young kin lay in her coffin on. Looking up at the massive cross that rode above the pulpit Jonathon says. "Rosa Angela, it is my belief that your sprit has protected my girl. I'm sorry I couldn't return the favor. I'm sending your baby girl back to lay with you and your mate. I'll try harder to protect your boy and the remainder of our bloodline." Jonathon's bur was thick with emotion as he turns around it was good he was the first one here, standing at the door was Glenn Jacobs. Jonathon blinked to clear his vision surely this man didn't believe he would be well received here. Jonathon had got a call that Mark and Paula were on their way after dropping Janet off at Candy's home with the twins since Deon wasn't eager to tangle with Logan, he'd volunteered to watch the children. Jonathon thanked the Mother Mary that Markus nor Logan had not arrived. Walking to meet Glenn they meet in the middle of the 20-foot aisle. "You can't possibly believe that you are welcome here." Glenn says she was his friend. "You were held as a brother by my nephew, and my niece. My own daughter once called you friend, and you did nothing but hurt her emotionally and scare her, no one wants you here. You really think that your presence would be a good thing?" Jonathon walks closer "Glenn I know it takes two, but for you to initiate an adulterous act with a woman you hold as kin. You are part of that girl's ruin. Your little story to her sent her after my girl. Once again her husband, my kin had to go pick up the pieces. You call yourself Markus's brother but you've done nothing but cause trouble within the bloodline." Jonathon walked forward until Glenn was standing on the steps. "There's no one, and nothing for you here, you're poisonous to our family, don't you get that by now? You stalk my girl, you sleep with my niece, ripping up her marriage, and you hurt your own brother by bringing someone into the family fold that stole his child. What is there for you here? It's taking meh a lot of self-restraint not to be the bloody antidote and end you where you stand." Glenn opens his mouth to say something. Jonathon was so pissed his whole body shook he pants with the energy it was taking not take the man down right here in front of the church. "Leave… Now"

Glenn breaks eye contact with the dark hunter green glare of Angel's father. Looking down at Jonathon's belt and the gun tucked near his hand Glenn put his hands up and walks back to this truck, gets in and speeds off. He promised himself that he would stay on the road Jonathon had a point. He'd wanted to say goodbye to Megan Jonathon blamed him for her killing herself. He was sure him telling Megan about his little Angel fantasy didn't help. Glenn felt like shit had he really been a poison to one of the only families besides his own that accepted him no matter what? He and Mark worked together and he had to find out about Megan through locker room buzz and the fucking news. Jonathon was right his presence would do more harm than good. Showing up at the hospital was a stupid move. Now he didn't even have the NIN jacket. Slamming his fist on the wheel he remembers punching the ice machine while leaving Angel a heated message that would tear them apart forever and give Band troll easy pickings. Everyone was out cleaning up all his messes. He was like a storm that blew through town leaving destruction in his wake. He'd destroyed a marriage, yeah she'd been a willing participant, but he didn't have start it he'd blamed it on Logan that she was lonely. Before he slept with the man's wife Logan and he were cool so that was another betrayal on his head board of fuckups. He defended his woman to Mark and she turned out to be a kidnapper of his friend's child. He kept following Angel around whether on purpose or not it just didn't matter anymore, there was never going to be anything between them. It didn't matter anymore that Glenn knocked out band troll in his club, the sneaky fucker had come back and knocked Glenn out of the picture altogether. He needed to stay the fuck away. Jonathon had fingered his gun, Glenn didn't think it was a bluff the older man looked ready to draw down on his ass.

At the funeral Tracy walks up with her row and stands looking down at Megan placing a rose on her casket she silently walked back to her seat. She noticed Logan watching her. She waves at Glenny who waved at her. He was dressed like his daddy. In a black suit with a blue tie. Blue was Meg Pie's favorite color. She came to let go of the anger that she held life was really too short.

Jonathon is introduced as the person that will give the eulogy. He steps up in front of everyone and clears his throat. Pulling the microphone closer to his height he starts "Before I begin, I would like to thank all of you here on behalf of my kin and myself. Thank you for your efforts large and small to be here today, to help us mark my niece's passing. I am honored to be here. I am honored to be here to speak to you all. I am honored to be here to speak to you about Megan. Each of you here had your own relationship with her, each of you has your own set of memories and your own word picture that describes this woman my kin. I don't presume to know the woman that you knew. Megan Callaway Conner when she was just a little one…." Jonathon gave a eulogy of the Megan he missed even before she died. The child she was when his sister was still alive. There was a quiet so thick after his last words he looked up and saw that Logan was openly crying leaning on his mother. Mark sniffed and Paula dabbed at her own eyes.

Jonathon walked down the aisle and kept going outside and stood on the porch of the church. Angel walks out and Joshua follows along with Andrew who stayed far enough away that he wouldn't be in earshot of Jonathon but close enough to his charges that if someone or something stupid happened he would be there to put a stop to it. Angel places her hand on her father's shoulder. "Dad are you okay?" Jonathon pats her hand and tells her yes he just needed air. Gloria walked out and tapped Angel on her arm asking for a moment of her time. Angel walks back pass Andrew who remained since Joshua remained outside with her father.

"He's been missing his sister Rosa, Megan's mum he'll be okay dear he just needs a little time. We'll be gone to Ireland to lay Megan to rest tomorrow. Your Da Chase is letting us use his plane all the paperwork has been completed as of today. I think seeing Rosa and Megan's name over and over on the paperwork just got to him. That wasn't his original eulogy, it started off like that, but the rest the stories of her early years were an add-on. It probably didn't help that this is the church that that he got married in." Angel looked at her in shock. Gloria went on "it's also the place that Mark and Megan both were christened in. John says that Mark told him after the arrangements were made that he also married his first wife Nina here. This edifice holds a lot of history for your bloodline. I just pray that the next event is something of joy." Candy comes out and says it's time for the pallbearers to gather. Jonathon, Mark, Joshua, and Kevin Kincaid carry Megan's casket to the hearse. Adam and Glenny followed as honorary pallbearers.

An announcement is made that the repast will be held at Mark's ranch. Sophie and Luke were the first to leave the church since Sophie had called in a catering service, and Mark had given her the code everyone would be using today only to get onto the property. Mark and Paula call Janet and check on the twins. Janet says they all were okay. Paula asks Mark if they could get the twins christened at the little church. Mark said that would be fine.

Angel, Joshua and Andrew say their goodbyes at the church and head back towards home. This was officially the longest time JC had not been in Angel's presence. She missed her baby boy and though she trusted that Nikki, Janet and Deon would keep him safe, it was time to get out of Houston. She didn't want her baby in this city which was the reason she'd let Nikki baby sit him in the first place. Heck she didn't want to be in Houston after dark her damn self. Joshua and Angel came to support Logan that was it. Her dad was taking Megan's body across the pond she wished him safe travels but now that the service was over it was time to get home and move on with her life. Her father's stories about a Megan that Angel never met did nothing for her view of the woman that seemed to always have an ax to grind with her. Just because Megan killed herself didn't make her an instant saint. Angel was more relieved than anything that Megan would not be threatening her or hurting anyone anymore.

Penelope, Butch, Logan, and Glenny along with Adam and his parents Kevin and Beth Kinkaid all load back into the Limo to head to Mark's ranch. The kids were soon asleep on their dad's laps. Logan looked out the window as he lightly rubbed Glenny's back. Logan had seen Susan and Megan's boss Jack at the service they stayed in the back out of the way. The only reason he'd seen them at all was when their row came up to pay their respects. His former neighbors and her work associates showed. Sophie had texted to tell him that Jack was at the Ranch asking questions and claiming he just wanted a complete exit interview. Logan wanted her to tell the guy to get lost. Hell Megan wasn't going to be working anywhere she was dead damn it. What more of an exit did the fucker need? Sophie told him to cool it. She continues by saying Logan coming to the ranch and flying off the handle at the man would not look good and to remember that he still had some say as to whether Glenny remained with him. When they reached the ranch Logan was told that he and Glenny were to meet with Jack in a few days.

The next day Jonathon and Gloria board Chase's 757 with Megan's casket in the belly of the large midsized business jet. When the pilots suggested they stow their Luggage under the main deck. Jonathon was pissed and asked with all the pre planning and securing paperwork that he'd signed off on, why the hell they were going to risk damaging the casket, the pilot explained that there were four compartments and the coffin would be in one by itself at the very rear and that their luggage would be placed in front. Gloria thanked the pilot for the clarification. They take their seats and a stewardess offers them a beverage. Gloria says water for her Jonathon orders a highball. "You're jumpy are you okay John?" He swallows his drink in one shot not saying anything. Gloria didn't know if he getting sloshed was such a hot idea, it was only 9am here in the states. He raises his hand for another Gloria turns in her seat and places her hand on his bringing it back down. "John what is the matter?" He says he doesn't like to fly he does it out of necessity. They had flown many times it was part of their careers. Gloria was going back with John but also she was going to retrieve her things from her flat. She applied for citizenship. It was wonderful that she was to marry John, but she didn't want to just be married into being a citizen if she was in she was in all the way. Without him, Ireland really didn't hold anything that she couldn't live without. They were going to bring her belongings that had not already come over, back with them. He gripped the arm rest as the duel engine jet soon takes to the air after the seat belt sign goes off, Gloria unbuckles her seat belt walks to the curtain closing them from view of the pilots and other airplane staff. She couldn't believe she had not noticed his anxious behavior in the past. Looking back in the area behind their plush seats was two rooms one of which was a bedroom. She could think of something to get his mind off the fact that they were as he had so eloquently put it being sling shot through the air and 30,000 feet. "Jonathon come here please." Undoing his seatbelt he looked out the window and sat back down. Gloria walked back over and shut the slider over the window that looked out over the wing. "I don't get how I could have missed your aviophobia."

Jonathon focused on his mate. He knew precisely why she hadn't noticed, most for the time he usually hid it very well with work, and when the big metal bird was in the air he worked in airplane mode, until he could download any changes to his work. "It's not the fear of height though that has a lot to do with it. I'm used to being in control, up among the clouds I have none. If they decide to give this bird a drink I'm done and there isn't a bloody thing I can do about it. When I flew back to the US, it was to check on my girl, as you well have noticed I get tunnel vision when it comes to my kin especially my girl. Megan is gone so the urgency or focus is just not there. The only reason I am doing this is because I feel honor bound to do so. Rosa would have done the same for meh. My fear of these massive birds came more after my Da died, this trip isn't new by any means but he was one of the 10 out of 56 people on the flight. I have given Angel a few tasks that she is used to doing, but on a much smaller scale letting her get her feet wet in the business, but that leaves me with nothing to do." Jonathon's sweat glands were working overtime.

"I have an idea" Gloria sits in his lap. She kisses him running her hands over his nape he cupped her face with both of his hands and deepened the kiss. She smirks against his mouth. "There is a bedroom you could stretch out and I could give you a relaxing massage."

An announcement from the pilot, of Turbulence changes his hold as he lowers his arms to around her waist and held her tight against him. The plane seemed to be going up banking side to side. Jonathon closed his eyes and prayed they made it out on the other side of this flight unharmed. She taps his shoulder telling him to let her get back in her seat and buckle up. Reluctantly he releases her, she scrambles back into her seat next to him and fastens her seat belt. When she held his hand that he didn't have a white knuckled grasp on the arm rest with. She stroked his long fingers and they spoke about anything but the plane.

He'd went into confession mode, most of which she'd already known. The plane leveled out and soon they were back to the feeling of movement but none of the bumpiness. "Jonathon you never speak about your da." He tells her there wasn't much to tell he was a good man, solid and raised his hardheaded brats, when they got the call that he'd died in the flight home all the love for taking flight kind of changed his view of flying very quickly. "When did he go? How old were ya?" Jonathon told her that he had been divorced for about two years so 27. No wonder he had such issue he was already back in Ireland mourning his sister and the failure of his marriage when other tragedy struck. He goes on to say his da was buried along with his sister, 6 years later his ma suffered a stroke that she never woke from. "So those were the drives you took alone to the countryside?" He nodded and ordered another highball, this time she didn't interrupt his request. "You're not alone anymore John." Four hours into the flight his liquid warmth must have taken affect, he slept the rest of the flight. Gloria watched him for a time after he fell asleep, and took his hand in hers laying her head back in the plush first class seat and allowed the slight movement and the touch of her mate sooth her to sleep as well.

At the new site of LEGNA USA Angel sat in her new office. This was surely a surprise, she thought she would just be remoting things from her father's office. Candy went to check out the mounted Keyboard in the studio that had their band's name engraved in the door. Angel had a to-do list and her dad wasn't kidding, this was a way larger scale. Her receptionist showed her the little room that was adjacent to her office via a small passageway. Her dad had thought of everything. The room was set up so she could have JC with her. Her baby boy was fed and sleeping and she was working on getting the advertisement contracts out for the grand opening. It was to be televised live locally, then it would be re broadcast in a few months. Her dad had a lineup that was going to make his opening in Dallas seem underdone. A few of the other names not under his label like Slash and Device were going to rock this place. They were going to hold a gala for a scholarship for Mark's school. Since LEGNA had its own cable station it would help via cross promotion, with the local businesses. Cassandra was going to be a tremendous help running the station. The receptionist buzzed her phone and told her that she had a guest. Angel flipped on the screen and told the receptionist not to let the person up and if they gave her any issue to call security. Angel gets up and walks into the little room with her sleeping son. When her office door opened she closed the door to the room as quickly and quietly as she could and stood in front of it. She knew that the woman couldn't get up to this floor that fast even if she got pass her receptionist. Who the hell was coming in her office without so much as a knock? When the door closed Angel let out the breath she hadn't realized she was holding. "Hey girls please knock next time"

Candy and Cassandra had returned from their tour of the studios and came back to tell Angel that the set up for the station was missing a camera hold. Candy noticed the pissed off look on her friend's face. "Um Angel is everything ok?" Angel seemed irritated as she crosses the office and locked the door behind them. Turning around she put her hands on her hips and paced. "Angel what's going on?" Candy asked walking in the little room seeing that JC was still sleeping.

"I thought you were someone else ok" Angel called down to see if the woman had left. "Thank you, no she is not to enter this building anymore. I don't care what she told you, I'm telling you that she is not welcomed here. Thank you goodbye." Sighing Angel ends her call, walks over and sits on her desk. "I should have known that she wouldn't have been able to get here that fast but for a second, I thought you were my grandmother. I don't know what she wants, and at this point I don't care, she is not to come anywhere near my son." Cassandra says but why, great-grandparents were rare and how she wished she'd met hers. Candy rolled her eyes and walked in the little room with JC. "Cass if I can help it my son will never meet her." Cass says she going to call Joshua he had a right to know that Angel was cutting their son off from family and maybe he can change her mind. "You do that, no please go ahead I insist, and while you're at it please tell him who showed up at my office wanting to meet with me." Angel walks in the little room with Candy and JC and closed the door.

Cassandra just kept thinking what if is this was the same stance Angel or Joshua had taken about them and not even gave them a chance they would be on the outside looking in as well. It was a new year. Cassandra remembered pictures of her own great grandmother she had been too young to remember her. She would call her little brother Joshua maybe he could talk to Angel, and get her to give the old feeble woman another chance. Angel's father was about family both of them actually. Now that Cass knew who and what she missed out on by her past actions, and not really knowing how to fix the problem until Jonathon gave her some helpful advice, a warning, and a place to work on herself. She now looked at Joshua's pic on her phone if she pushed send would he be receptive to her poking her nose in or would it get bitten off? Only one way to find out Joshua was heading over in a few anyway maybe this was a conversation, to be had in person. She put her phone back on her belt clip and walked to the door Angel went through. Remembering the wild look in her baby sister's eyes before she asked them to knock next time, Cass knocks and waits for a response before she walks in.

Angel sat in the rocker and held JC, Candy was in mid-sentence when Cass knocked. "Okay so maybe Joshua gave her the short version." Candy says as she walks to the door and opens it saying "Come on in Cass." Cassandra walked in and averted her attention from the smug look on Angel's face when she asked what Joshua said. Cass admitted that she hadn't called him since it seemed that it was like she missed something, since Angel was so sure Joshua would side with her. Candy says "Well I mean though I wouldn't personally want any piece of that conversation, it's not like you're doing it behind anyone's back, Angel gave you the green light to ask him."

Angel's phone buzzed saying "answer" into her mic on her shirt that was attached to her Bluetooth earbud she answers her phone while rocking her baby. She'd learned from holding the twins not to have the thing on anything but vibrate or it was sure to scare her baby. The time she'd forgot Sophie's ring tone hit and she could hardly hear Sophie over JC wailing. Sally had teased that her son was training her. Smiling at the memory Angel Says "Angela Davenport" Angel froze at the voice of her grandmother. "END call" the little light blinked twice and her grandmother's words were cut off. Sighing she continues rocking. "First she's comes by my job unannounced, now she's calling my phone from a Grandville number." When JC smacked his lips and opened his eyes. Angel looks at her baby boy's blue eyes and says "Hey there handsome" Another call came in and it was Joshua telling her he was on his way up. Joshua came to the office to drop off Angel's lunch and Cassandra asked to speak to him before he could get in the room good.

"Um can I visit with wife and my son first?" Cass says sure and sorry as she walks back out into Angel's office. Joshua walks over greats and kisses Angel before lifting his son into his arms. "Hey there tiger you up here handling the business with mommy?" JC picked that moment to grunt at him. Chuckling Joshua knew by now what that meant his son was gearing up to give him a present. "Must you always wait until I hold you to let one rip?" Candy giggled Joshua mock glares at his best friend. "So what's up with Cass?" Candy excuses herself. As Joshua waits for JC to stop grunting at him he asks Angel what was with the vanishing act Candy just pulled. Angel tells him about Madam coming by and then calling from a local number. "What the heck?" Joshua was trying his best not to give his son any first curse words. Some new parents thought the shit was cute he thought it stupid and Angel agreed with him on that front.

"I know, I told the downstairs people to block her and put her on the no entrance roster. Cassandra has some misguided thought that I'm just doing it to be mean or something. I don't want Sierra Springer near him at all." Joshua changed JC's diaper as he agreed with her. There was a selection of people that neither of them wanted anywhere near their son, and the list was not that long. Joshua says he would speak to Cassandra. "Thanks because I get what she thinks, but you know as well as I do you were there for some of it, that Madam isn't your normal grandmother. I will not have her torment JC or make him feel unloved."

Joshua soon walks back into Angel's office Candy asks to hold JC. He hands over his now sleepy baby to his god-ma Candy and she heads back into the little room with Angel. Putting his thumbs in his belt loops to keep his stance open he eyes his sister and says "Angel said you wanted to talk about her not letting her grandmother see Jonathon-Chase." Cass launches into how they found it in their hearts to forgive them, and she didn't understand why Angel was so against giving and old woman a chance to at the very least meet her great-grandchild. "One has nothing to do with the other. If you remember I first forgave you guys to get on with my life, because I felt conflicted. The fact that we have all put in work to get to where we are is great, but Cass this is something else. I was there when that woman would visit and make Angel feel about this big." Joshua put his thumb and pointer finger close together. Cass prattles on about how she knows what she would be missing if she had not got a second chance and wasn't it time for Angel to forgive her family, saying it must have happened long time ago and Cassandra was living proof that people could change. "Angel spent most of her life trying to be accepted by her mother and her mother's side of the family, it never took. She is afraid that her grandmother is going to treat Jonathon-Chase like she did her and I believe the woman would try. Where I was letting one or two major events guide my thoughts towards you and Bradley, and even mom for a time that is nothing, to having to deal with multiple episodes of just how nuts the woman can be. For years she made Angel feel unwanted and unloved and even put her hands on her just last year at Angel's mother's funeral. Now that Angel has stopped trying to win over her mother's side of the family..." Cass says what if Angel's grandmother had changed. Joshua shook his head and continues "I understand your point, but leave it alone, because this I agree with Angel, the woman showed her ass for years, and now just because she has calmed down or whatever the case is, she wants to waltz back in our lives not going to happen." Cass held up her hands and said fine she was done with it. "Good"

Cass saw that her words were falling on deaf ears, and she didn't want to keep going around and around with him. He already was strung tight as a bow, she could see that in his stance even though he tried to hide it. Her pissing him off wasn't the solution maybe he had a point. She changes the subject and Joshua revealed why he was so uptight he found out, that his birth farther had got out of jail on bail a few days ago. No wonder he wasn't in a very compassionate mood. He was in protect mode. With a part of his own blood family out and about, she could see why. Walking over to her younger brother she hugs him and says if he wanted to talk or anything he knew her number. He hugged her back and told her yeah he did. A thought hit her "Have you told Angel I mean about James being out?" He tensed and said yeah and that they both told Andrew. Angel soon comes back in the office and goes to her desk, Joshua says his goodbyes after stealing a quick kiss from his wife sharing a fist bump with Candy that had also reentered the office saying that JC was once again in sleepy town.
