Chapter 34
Consequence
The next morning Sophie woke to Luke sitting in her bed fully clothed staring out the window. "Everything ok?" He says he hopes so considering they would get the test results back today to see if he was already a father to Gabriella's child. "Do you want me to come with you; my day is pretty flexible?"
"Yes, you don't have to, I don't know. If we had of used my damn lab it would not have taken this long. She still wasn't pleased that I knew the doctor she goes to." Sophie put a hand on his arm and tells him he is rambling, sighing he takes her hand and kisses it "I guess I am. I'd like you to be there, but I just didn't know how you would feel about it." She moves closer and says for him to stop worrying and it is settled she's coming. "Thanks" Turning to his bride-to-be, he kisses her then puts his forehead to hers. She asked him when the last time he got any sleep. Looking at his watch she'd bought him he says. "Um this says about 2 days. That can't be right. I did a shift last night came here." She says and clearly didn't sleep, she continues stating when they return no matter what the result he is taking his ass to bed tonight. "Well let me grab a shower, and a change of clothes and we can get this very long day started." They shower together it felt great to have someone in his corner besides his parents. Watching Sophie through lidded eyes as she starts soaping his chest, he takes the puff away from her turns her around, starts kissing her. She asks him what he's doing saying if he started they would be late. He moves her hair off her shoulder, and kisses from her neck to her shoulder. "The appointment isn't for another two hours, and the center isn't that far away. Besides you taste good, and I'm hungry." She called him insatiable. "With you, I can never get enough." He sits down on the shower floor in front of her, supports her with both hands as he pleasures her with his mouth until she screamed. He holds her up until the trimmers of her pleasure subside.
Down the hall Candy sits in JC's room talking to him as she held the only other male part of her life besides Joshua that she knew without a doubt would never love her any less her god-baby. He was getting cranky, looking in the mini fridge he had one bottle left until Angel got up and pumped some more. "Okay Jonathon-Chase let me get your bottle ready and then you can eat." She put him in his crib to put the bottle on the warmer, he started crying the minute he realized he was no longer laying on her. "Hey it's okay little man; I'm still in the room." She continues talking to him and jumps when the door opens and Angel comes in saying she's coming. She apologizes for scaring her. "I guess I'm still a little jumpier than usual." Angel says she understands. "Logan said he changed the locks and left my new set of keys with Frank. I'm just glad Deon didn't attack him like he did Bradley." Candy picks up JC and starts feeding him the bottle.
Angel busied herself with pumping since JC would be full with the bottle for now, but she wanted to get some errands ran and Candy had said she'd watch JC today. Angel really didn't want to leave the house with all the crazy stuff that was going on but she knew herself, and the longer she stayed closed up in the house after the cop fiasco, the harder it would be to leave. "Though he no longer acts like it, Deon is a grown man. Please, don't feel responsible for his actions. If he gets his butt handed to him no better for him. I'm still not pleased that he laid his hands on you." Candy opened her mouth then closes it. "Trust me sis, I know what you're thinking and I also know me or no one else is going to change the way you think. That has to come from within you. You blame yourself because of his actions. Please don't, it's not how anyone except maybe Deon sees it. He's quick to blame everyone but himself. Most guys that do this type of...stuff blame you or everyone, but he'll never blame his actions on him. Unfortunately, this is a topic that I know all too well. I dealt with all of these examples of self-destructive transference with Braden, and others." Candy says she sounded like Middlebrooks. "What I'm trying to say, is no amount of you speaking to or poking him should have led to him knocking you off your feet. You didn't lay a hand on Bradley. You may have very well saved his life." Candy says that if Bradley wouldn't have even been there he wouldn't be hurting right now. "if Bradley wasn't there Deon could have hurt you even more, or worse. I shudder to think if he'd speared you off that porch. Without sending a few hundred volts into his drugged out system there is no way you could have fought him off."
Down the street at Jonathon's house he walks into his atrium and smells baked goods. To anyone else this would be a pleasant surprise, but he knew what triggered this walking into a bakery moment. Gloria had been cooking and more than likely she'd been pissed off at him for his rude departure the night before last. He was sure him telling her about Lonnie wasn't going to ease any of her anger. The hospital had done all they could. She held on for as long as she could. The only thing that the news didn't report at his request was that for a brief moment Lonnie woke. He got a chance that her family did not and that was to say goodbye. He was armed with at the very least who sent her killer. John remembers her last words as he held her hand. She said A guy named St Valentine Vargo stabbed her. She then asked him to tell her how they met. He told her she knew she said please tell me you tell it better than I remember, he retold the story of how he discovered her. Right before he says she moved here her hand went limp, Alarms went off doctors and nurses alike flooded the room pushing him out of the way. John watched as the doctor closed her lifeless eyes and stated her time of death 8:35am February 10th 2000 and 15. He stood rooted to the spot in the room as if he became a piece of the landscape. Tears streamed down his face. Now that he was home he took off his driving glasses and sat staring out of his front window. Vargo would die, be it by his hand or one of The Wolf's, that bitch was cold, she just didn't know it yet. Gloria asked him how Lonnie was. That answered his question of had she watched any TV with her baking. The last he said to her was that Lonnie was in bad shape. "She didn't make it, she died yesterday morning." Gloria walks over and hugs him tightly and starts crying. The younger females or even the males that she would have to translate for, were like her children. They went to her for advise that they didn't feel comfortable or speak Irish or English well enough to ask him. "I had to tell her aunt. The most horrible experience of my life is watching that woman fall to the floor." Yet another image that engraved itself in his mind. His throat tightens "They let her see her kin they then had to pry her off of Lonnie's body. I told her I'd pay for her service. It's the least I could do. She wouldn't allow it, she told me to keep my bloody money to find her kin's murderer. Vargo has to be stopped I can't go through this again."
Gloria froze and lifted her head looking John in the eye. "How do you know It's Vargo" he tells her about Lonnie's words. "Did you tell the police?" he shook his head. Getting off of him altogether and crossing her arms over her chest she says. "So let me guess, you're going to go after her. The same woman that almost ended your life. FUCK John what is it? Is almost not good enough for you?" She marches away from him. "I can't do this. For hours I was going out my mind you just ran out of here armed and ready. Where did you go after leaving the hospital? It's been a day almost." He said he wasn't ready to come home and have this talk, so he went to his office and made some calls to the proper people. "You called on The Wolf. You think you know what you are getting, but you don't, he's not a good person at all John." He tells her of a promise from The Wolf and why he made it. He then asks her why she seemed so dead set against someone that could take away the threat to their talent and his family. Closing her eyes, she had to get this out. "Please don't ever repeat this to your dear friend Maxwell S Wolfe. As you may already know Shannon isn't my maiden name, it was just safer to keep then my own. My original name is Gloria Fenny. Wolfe killed my Ma." Jonathon's gaze hardened. "Look, I'm not telling you this for nothing but the fact that I really don't think you should trust him. I saw him, he even did it without the sunglasses on. We were home alone because I had come down with a cold and was lying in their big bed. We heard glass break downstairs. My ma was very protective. The last thing she told me was to stay in my hiding place, and I did. There was a defect between their closet ceiling and the attic. She boosted me up there because I couldn't reach it from merely standing on the floor of their closet, and climbing the wall as I usually did, it would've taken too long. Standing in her open hands, was the last touch I would receive from her."
Jonathon hated that he had to ask, but he'd thought he'd met both of her parents before they died. "I thought Mary and Sterling were your parents? Sterling died of a car wreck and Mary died of cancer. If you were in the Attic how do you know it was The Wolf."
Sighing and dropping her defensive stance she spoke as the scene that changed her childhood for good played through her mind's eye. "Sterling Fenny was my da. Mary was my stepmother. As for how I know it was Wolfe, I saw him. through the cracks in the wooden boards. He asked my ma so calmly, where my da was. My ma didn't answer him and he started beating on her. I wanted to help her, but all I could do was lay in the space between the attic floor and the ceiling of their room watching him hurt her. I'd never in my 11 years seen such violence. She never told him where my da was, I wish she had of. Wolfe warned her that his civility was wearing thin." Tears sprung to her eyes as she wipes them away. John walked towards her and tells her she didn't have to continue. Shaking her head, she says. "Wolfe threw my mother on her front on the bed, she tried to get away. He made her stop resisting him by putting her in a rear choke hold. I wanted to save her, but my cowardice held me in place, as he forced the life out of her. I saw when her light faded from her all too wide eyes." John goes to move towards her again, the last thing she wanted right now was to be touched. Raising her hand, she continues. "My siblings blamed me and rightfully so, if I had of went to school that day my ma would not have been home. The car wreck wasn't an accident. Though my da blamed The Wolf in public, he blamed me in private. The day he died I'd just married Victor and had been working for LEGNA for about two years. My Da left me a note I never showed it to the police nor my siblings." Gloria pulled her wallet and unfolded an aged piece of paper. "I've read it millions of times I can't not even once more." She hands him the note. "I Can't make you change your mind. If you are going to continue working with The Wolf, please John be careful. I have to go I can't stay here and watch this unfold. I won't." Jonathon asks her where she was going. "I have to go. Though I followed my da's request and the debt has been paid I don't trust Wolfe." Gloria runs out of the house gets in her car and drives off.
Once the shock wore off, Jonathon calls her and her phone rang in his den. Cursing he carefully opens the old letter. His anger rose at the dead man with every word. Sterling Fenny cursed Gloria's happy marriage and said he hated living on this earth with her his little selfish bitch of a daughter that allowed his one true love to get murdered. He confessed that this was in fact a suicide note. He admitted he owed Wolf money and gave Gloria instruction on how to collect his life insurance if she wanted her siblings and Víctor to live. Or be selfish once more and risk all of their lives. He ends with telling her she'd finally got what she wanted both her parents dead because of her. Jonathon wanted to go in so many directions right now as he stood in his Livingroom. Going after The Wolf would be foolish. If she wasn't already afraid for his safety, he doubted that Gloria would have let this skeleton out of her closet. He had to find his woman. She'd left her phone and drove off crying. Her family wasn't the only ones that blamed her for things beyond her control. She sounded so guilty as she'd spoke. A frightening thought hit him, Valentin-Vargo was watching him as well as people that she believes he'd close the company if she took them out. He had to find Gloria and fast. There were countless pictures everywhere that connected Gloria to LEGNA and he.
Gloria drove to LEGNA went straight to her office and locked the door. What the hell was she doing? Remembering John's story of how The Wolf came to his office even with his security in place made her rethink being in a skyscraper. She hated Wolfe but loved John and didn't want The Wolf to hurt or kill him. She'd saved Victor's life and when she divorced him he sent the same people she paid her father's policy money to, to come after her. John's help in exposing her ex-husband's plot to have her killed also exposed a cell of The Wolf's men. That got her to thinking about Wolf's words to John if he was so up for protecting what was dear to John in repayment for John saving his girl at John's party why hadn't Wolfe been the first to take April out of the picture? She knew firsthand The Wolf didn't leave his kills out in the open. He'd taken her mother's body to only god knew where. She so wished she could have plunged through the floor and stopped him. She hadn't made a sound. She hadn't spoke for three months after her ma was taken. There had been nothing to say, she felt she hadn't been able to say anything while she watched Wolfe bend her mother backwards and take her light out of her eyes. Until her da threatened to send her away for her silence. That's when the blame started she should have just let him send her away. To this day her siblings blamed her. As an adult she never called in sick no matter her level of health. She remembers having walking pneumonia and Jonathon sending her to the hospital straight from the office. It had been hard to answer phones when she could barely take in a full breath. She now sits at her desk as much as she wanted to leave she didn't realize how much she hung out here in the confines of her office. Exhaustion flooded her body to the point the room spun, closing her eyes, she lays her forehead on her desk and let sleep take her under.
Luke lets Sophie proceed him inside of the clinical offices of Dr. Pauline Copeland. He had his hand at Sophie's back for two reasons one, he liked touching her and two, in the event Gabriella said something he could stop Sophie from making the evening news. Gabby stood as they walked in. She speaks to him as if Sophie isn't standing here. He so disliked rude public behavior. "Gabriella this is my fiancé Sophie." She says she knows and continues speaking about how could he bring her here. Sophie excuses herself saying she was going to the restroom.
Sophie had enough of this little bitch looking over her head and around her like she is not here. She texts Angel and tells her that they had made it to the clinic. Gabriella walks in and says how nice of Luke to bring his best friend. "Look Gabriella this is a public place and I was invited here as moral support, if you don't like it you can leave cause as long as he wants and needs me here I'm going to be right by his side." Gabby says that this had nothing to do with Sophie. "I'm trying to be nice to your lying stupid ass. You know good and damn well that isn't his child. How does a partly Hispanic female with C 17 poorly dyed Mousey Blonde hair and a naturally dark haired Americanized Greek male make a pale blonde baby? Hell the baby doesn't even look like you let alone him." Gabby says she saw younger pictures of Luke and his hair wasn't as dark as it is now. "I didn't have to see pictures of him as a child to be able to tell you that yes his hair went from dark brown to inky black still nowhere near blonde." Gabby says that Sophie will be sorry when the results show that Luke is the father. "I'm not the one screaming my head off in a bathroom of a clinic. You're delusional but why would I be sorry. What do you really think you're going to gain from this?"
"His love, he always wanted the entire package, and I can provide that for him. Face it princess, I'm the ex that can snap her fingers and make him want me like he used to. Thanks for bringing him out of his social shell. That part of his personality was very hard to deal with."
Sophie smiles and says "you don't even believe the words that you speak, but just in case you do believe this line of crap logic. Here are some questions to ask yourself. If you could have Luke back anytime, then why are we here? If you really have as much influence over him as you claim, why did he even want a test done? Why are we here waiting on results of a test that he insisted on? This little fantasy you have rolling around in your head, is going to fail and here is why. That child isn't his, you know it and I know it. Soon he will know it, and your little lying tap dance will fail and there will be nothing else for you to contact us about." Gabby says he doesn't tell Sophie everything that's a flaw that he would never get over. "No your right, see you never gained his trust, so there are some things that he would not have told you. With me, Luke knows without a shadow of a doubt that he can trust me." She says his mother hates any woman he dates and called Mrs. Sheldon wicked. "His parents aren't wicked, they were thrilled to know that he found someone that makes him happy and isn't with him merely for his money or his looks." Gabby accuses Sophie of using his looks to boost her image on social media. "I see you like internet stalking us. Maybe if you stopped stalking our public profiles and following every news media we are printed in. Our beautiful faces and our life together wouldn't upset you so much. This is what you could do instead Get a life bitch. Find your real baby-daddy and get a life." Sophie didn't need Luke sending one of the female close protection agents in after her, she walks out of the bathroom, Into Luke who was standing at the door about to knock. "Have they called you guys yet?" He nods. "Okay then come on."
Gabriella storms out of the bathroom, bumps into Luke, and keeps going. Luke checks his back pocket his head pops up with worry marring his features. Sophie pats her purse and reminds him that he handed it to her when they walked in after he signed in. He lets out a breath. "Thanks babe. I can't believe I forgot just that quick."
She says "That right there, is why you're going to bed when we get home." When they'd pulled up he told her to put his wallet in her purse since though he knew the doctor he didn't particularly like this area. Sophie didn't either but this was the little clinic out in the sticks that super bitch had picked. She'd seen Gabby look back and saw when the heifer saw what he was looking for. That level of mistrust had to sting Gabby threw away his trust when she left his condo wide open almost a year ago. Gabby marched into the back. They walk in and Dr. Pauline Copeland asked was everyone comfortable with Sophie being in the room. Luke glares at Gabby and says he insisted that she stay. The doctor says okay and reads off her paper. Just as Sophie thought the baby wasn't Luke's. Luke relaxes for the first times since all this crap started. He just went boneless as he laid back in his seat.
The doctor leaves the room suddenly Gabby jumps to her feet yelling. "That can't be right. What did you do Luke? Did you pay her off? You did this Luke somehow you paid her off. I can't believe you."
That was it, he'd been stressed out for the last few days that this child was his, and that he'd be connected to this raving rude bitch for the rest of his life. The relief that he wouldn't be, was better than the sleep he'd missed, the fact that she was once again accusing him of tampering was his tipping point. He stood up he didn't like her so close to Sophie and he sure as hell didn't like her standing over him. "Gabriella, I don't understand why you're so upset. I subjected myself to the doctor of your choice. You got pissed off because I know of the doctor you picked. News flash, this area isn't that big. I run a Sheldon Center less than 10 miles from here. Most of the doctors I know either by my own work or my father's. Now it's been settled I'm not the father of your offspring. You have it there in black and white. Mark me off your headboard."
Sophie suggests Gabby bring in the other potential father saying that the child deserved to know the truth. "I can't he's dead. Luke the next time you and Princess here are fucking in your nice big bed, think on this since supposedly you're not the father. That only leaves your best friend Trent Shelly with whom I slept with in your nice warm big bed. So my baby was conceived in your condo with a doctor just not with you." the look of hurt that crossed his features was brief but it was there. "That's right Luke, when you went to visit your center in Wyoming I invited Trent over for Chinses food and that meal lead to the hottest sex I have ever had. Mark my words, you will never find a girl like me." He smiled looked at Sophie Ivey and then back a her. He then thanked her. "For?"
"Thank you for leaving when you did. Also thank you for informing me that I need a new bed. As for the not finding another girl like you. One of you was way more than enough for me to endure." Gabby's mouth dropped open. "I deserved better than you from the start to the end of our relationship and I found her." He wraps his arms around Sophie pulling her against him." Gabby says they were amazing together. "That's your delusion I have nothing to do with that. No Sophie will never be anything like you, and I thank every god in heaven for that. I will never have to wonder if she is playing me. I have given our past a lot of thought these past few days. The truth is you never wanted me, you wanted the image of what I represent in your head. I am not that person. Goodbye Gabby"
As Luke and Sophie turn to leave Gabby mentions a trick she taught Luke and tells Sophie she should thank her. Luke reddened in anger until Sophie laughed looks over her shoulder and says. "Honey you didn't invent that It's purely scientific, but thanks for trying." Luke busted out laughing. Sophie had just referenced one of the first things he admitted to her when they started having sex. He'd admitted that he was kind of obsessed with brining her to orgasm with his knowledge of the female body. They would try something and if it worked she'd playfully tell him she loves his scientific method.
Later that day, Jonathon found Gloria after his mad dash around town to anywhere she liked to go. He stands just inside her door and looks around seeing her office for the first time. He'd been in here sure, but it was mostly ducking his head in and saying a few words and right back out. She had the same picture that he had on his wall of them. Her desk was adorned with pictures not of her family but of his. As he approaches her desk he walks to her and touches her shoulder. "Gloria I'm sorry I upset you so. Please let's go back home. I really don't want you out and about. There is way too much going on." Gloria looks up at him and starts in on The Wolf and asks him why if Wolfe had him watched so closely why he let April go so long. "I have no answer." Wolfe was silent when that woman was threatening to take out his child. He'd almost lost his girl, his son, and his grandchild and no Wolfe. "I won't question him. I'm not foolish enough to ask him anything. Friendship is not, and has never been the nature of our relationship. Vargo needs to be stopped I just want my kin and my company safe from her. I will have to talk to someone else, but it is not a part of Wolfe's force. I see your point. You have stayed off his radar for a long time and I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if after all of your hard work I pointed him right to you." She says she's glad he understands. "I had a lot of time to think as I raced around the greater Grandville area looking for you." Taking her hand in his he continues "Please come back home I'm sorry I frightened you the night before last. Can you ever forgive me?"
Gloria gets up and hugs him. "I forgive you John. I love you I just don't want you to go out and get yourself killed. Believe meh I understand your reaction to seeing what happened to your kin and of hearing of poor Lonnie's attack after getting those text messages. You have to realize you can't run in and save the day with a book bag of weapons. I know you wear many social roles but none of them are a one-man militia. Or to put out a hit on someone working with thugs that would sooner shoot you and leave you by the side of the road." He nods and confessed what she already knew that he was afraid, had been since his abduction. "That's completely understandable John, that was a very frightening ordeal for all us. Let's go home."
Madam Springer was going to prove to Angel that she had changed. Last night's asthma attack scared her and Nathan calling her old, made her realize at age 82 that she had less time than she thought to make amends. She had to find a way to see her great grandson before she left this earth. She hadn't given her mentally challenged grandson's words any weight before, but Nathan knew Angel better than she ever allowed herself to. He started to make her think. What all had Angela remembered and told her lover. Flashes of her behavior towards Jonathon's child. That was the first step, she had to stop seeing Angel as no more than that demon's offspring. Angel was her granddaughter no matter who her father is. She'd also come to the realization that Jonathon McBride wasn't going anywhere. She thought Sophia was correct in her thought that he'd soon be back across the sea. Her daughter said how he just left the country when she and Angel needed him most. Something just wasn't adding up. Jonathon and Chase got along. Nothing made any sense. Sophia had told her that she divorced Jonathon because he was a draft dodger, and cheater. She'd mentioned to her oldest that she remarried quite quickly, Sophia had assured her that Chase was helping her stay afloat since Jonathon refused to give her child support and jumped the country. How could Chase get along with him and even dare do business with him? Jonathon didn't seem too willing to run back soon, now that he registered here under her daughter's old address, he'd also attached himself to her great grandson. If Angel could forgive her father for his past fuck ups why was it so hard for her to forgive a few bad experiences? Madam thinks she'd been going about this the wrong way though she would hate every moment of it she had to talk to Jonathon. She'd thought Joshua was the key, but Jonathon was the root of all of her actions towards Angela. It just wasn't fair that that demon held Angel's trust and her forgiveness. Things just didn't add up. "Gathan I need you to go and get your tablet thing. I want to send the scoundrel a letter. Since I can't have Davenport deported. I'll have to play nice with the demon I do know to get what I want."
Wendell meets up with Carla they head out of town. He was surprised she'd showed up. Maybe he'd finally met the woman of his dreams. As of now he was calling in favors. His luck had to take a tumble into the toilet just to find a woman that would stick by his side not just for drugs but because she liked him? For years he had women of all ages that where near him, and did stuff for him, just to get a hit. Carla drove to the place he was hiding and picked him up. The cops that let him out the back door of the jail, expected payment since they were all now on unpaid suspension with the very real chance of being fired, fined, and locked up themselves. His accounts were frozen, his drugs were gone, but this hot porn star was willing to help him.
Carla couldn't believe that Wendell had fallen for her lies. "Oh baby I'll help you. I have the perfect hiding place." he had no money and no drugs to make any new money with. Wolfe was going to have his ass for dinner. She'd been given the address to an abandoned house out in the middle of Glenview. Suddenly the front windshield shattered. "Holly Fuck what the Hell?" Chancing a glance at Wendell she saw what the fuck just happened, fear made her put her foot to the floor. The dealer had a hole in his forehead. A van pulls into her path. She tried to get pass it on the dirt road. A gun pointed out the back of the van she cut the wheel to the left hard and regretted it instantly, there was a truck coming right for her. She goes straight the truck smacked the back of the little car she was given and spun her around but at the very least she was off the street and still breathing. Had they thought they missed him? Why the hell had they pointed a gun out the back of the truck. Not wanting to stay out here in the middle of nowhere with a dead body in her front seat hearing sirens. She gets out and runs, though she had no destination in mind she had to get the hell away from this scene. She looked back and five men were circling the car with the dead dealer inside. After a block or so, Carla looks in front of her just in time to see Chase's limo. A bubble of relief built up inside of her as she dashed to the super stretch Hummer. The window powered down and non-other than Vargo's wife pointed a gun in her face and asked her in that broken German accent was she going somewhere. Looking around she saw no other choice. Carla hoped The Wolf made good on his word to keep her son safe. She could try to run towards his men but if those weren't his men she could be running closer to her own death. Feeling defeated she gets in and regrets it as soon as the door is closed. The bitch throws handcuffs at her and commands her to cuff herself. She takes the metal cuffs and links them around her wrists.
Henriette watches her pet put on her own shackles. She'd been tracking her pet ever since the little blonde bitch drove pass her in Grandville. The Wolf had exposed one of his own cells of men to carry out the hit she'd just seen in the daylight. Evidently The Wolf was done with her pet, so she would take her back. If his only demand was that she not put her pet in public with Chase she could comply. McBride was hers first, Wolfe would have to get over it. Now that she had even more leverage the child was within her grasp. "My pet you failed at your first task of killing Ivey. I went along with your new plan and it failed and almost cost me my own life. Your work had better improve or else this young one will not see his next birthday." Henriette pulls her phone and shows the woman her best shot of the child yet.
Carla's eyes meet Vargo's wife's gaze, she then looks back at the picture of Glenn Jr. Somehow someone had taken his picture while standing over him. He was laying on a colorful cot. "Please don't hurt him." the words rushed from her as she had to bite the inside of her lip to keep from falling apart. Being armed with Monroe's original plan and now seeing how close this horrible woman had got to her son was tearing her in two. Monroe had been ready to off their son as a sort of mercy killing compared to what he thought this woman would do to him. Carla didn't want to know what Vargo's wife's plan was for her baby, she just hoped she didn't fail anymore this woman was way too close to her son. The woman gave her another impossible task. "He'll shoot me on sight." Vargo threatened to have the child taken today. "Okay, Okay I'll do it." Armed with a script that she was forced to repeat until she didn't need the paper anymore she is dropped off in the center of Grandville. Well she had better make this quick she had a time limit this time. She starts walking. The producer was going to be pissed but maybe she could get him to help her like she did Chase. As she crosses the street suddenly she is airborne and in pain. The only thing that went through her head before she landed on the car's hood was "this is going to hurt" and it did to the point she lost consciousness.
Minutes earlier after the police leave the scene The Wolf's number one calls him. "Direct line please." When Wolfe gives him a verbal signal he starts speaking. "We have a small problem. The Blonde was captured. Usurped right off of the street. No the problem is she ran from me and right into Vargo's limo. I warned you she is untrustworthy. She's trying to get you wet Max and not in a good way. She's not that good of an actress. Fine it's your funeral. I'll bring her to your door. After all, you're the boss." Salvatore Fenny Paradise sits back in his seat. It had taken him over 20 years to earn his spot in The Wolf's den. At 40 he was a number 1. A call from one of his men comes through as he hangs up with The Wolf. "she is take her now." He hears the engine of one of The Wolf's newer cars rev and then the sound of impact. Sighing he says in a bored tone. "Status." His driver had hit the blonde and was now putting her in the back of the limo. "Out how, out cold or just cold?" The bitch lived. "Special delivery to me, I will handle things."
Angel sits in her office at LEGNA putting together another project when her office door opens she looks up and gets to her feet. Damn it Andrew had just left to go to the washroom. In her doorway stood Deon, Bradley hadn't lied about messing up his face. Deon looked as bad if not worse than Bradley did last night. Side eyeing the bass player she says "Deon you're not supposed to be here. Your pass key was deactivated. How did you get up here?"
Deon had awakened in his own vomit this morning; he'd passed out in the bushes of Amy's yard. Yesterday was fuzzy he had unexplained pains and even cuts and bruises. He felt like shit the only thing that stuck was that he went to the Davenport and Joshua fired his ass which lead him to lash out at his queen that wasn't speaking to him right now. "Look, Angel I know Josh fired me but I was hoping that you could get me back in the band. You know I'm good he's pissed at me for a good reason but firing me, that was over the top, you know he has anger issues. Maybe you could talk to him for me please." Angel says Joshua is primary owner of the club and their band lead. She finishes her copout with at the end of the day it's Joshua's building and band which makes it his decision. "So you're not going to aid me, Candy isn't speaking to me and Joshua is pissed at me." Deon walks closer to her desk she puts up a hand. He keeps walking and leans on her desk. "Nice copout about it's his, you know good and damn well, he'd listen to you even before he'd listen to Jonathon. You're going to need a good bass player. Do you want another Scott on your hands?" He saw the fear register in her gaze before she spoke. "Joshua's angry right now he really needs to check that out." She backed up away from the desk that separated them.
Angel moved away from her desk. "I helped you once and copped out to Candy when she asked did I believe you. I said I didn't really know you, and just hoped you told the truth that you wouldn't hurt her anymore. You broke that promise. Now you want to come into my office and ask for my help again?" He starts to argue. "You complain about everyone's role in the club, and you not having a part and how Joshua is using you. Since you want to play detective and draw up your own conclusions why things were done the way they were. Fine. I became an angel investor in The Davenport for two reasons. One, it secured the money Joshua's father would need to get his procedure done. Two not that any of this is your business, no matter who owned it before that was Joshua's club. Personal Touch is Joshua's band. Joshua split the club the way he did because he wasn't going to rip off Vashon who's been working there for over 20 years and believed he owned apart before Joshua found out he didn't own it to give, it was only fair. Candy is the heart behind the sound she also has put a melody to some of Joshua's best material. Joshua wouldn't let me put the offer on the table without me having ownership, and since you went so far as to complain about JC having a part. Jonathon-Chase is my child and with all the crap that has been going on, I wanted him to have a piece of what his father and grandfather built. You play bass and manage when you decide to show up. You've been late more times to cover the club or even to rehearsals than Joshua would have given a break to any of his other band mates or staff. Do you know why he would just have told you "Hey just don't let it become a habit" and shrugged at you which drove Vash up the wall by the way?" Deon says because he is good at what he does. "No, being good got you the position of manager and bass player, ask any of his former bartenders or night managers. Joshua didn't fire you before now or give you half the shit he would to his regular staff because of Candy. You complain about all these decisions you don't get to make, yet you provide the least in every aspect of the band and the club. You not showing up at all when you said you would when we depended on you the most was the last straw." Deon says that's bullshit Joshua could have covered the club or hell even her ass could have covered it. "You and I know that I don't manage the club especially at night. I've never closed out the club at night and I'm not going to start."
Deon says "I still say this was a set up to get me kicked out, Joshua could have run the club himself." Angel explains in great detail what happened and why Joshua wasn't at the club that night. She wasn't listening to him and that was pissing him off. "Joshua was just fine when he fought me in his office yesterday. Joshua is the reason Candy is mad at me."
"You are blaming you hitting Candy in the face and pushing her around on the fact that my husband didn't let you knock him out. You got a lot of fucking nerve GET OUT." Deon grabs her desk and tips it over screaming at her that the band would suffer for dumping him like this. Angel jumped back out the way just in time to see her desk upended in front of her. She meets Deon's angry glare. "Are you kidding me?" she screams in anger.
Deon saw red and jumped over her overturned desk grabbing her up by her shirt, slamming her into the wall near her floor to ceiling window. "That's your fucking problem you think ruining my life is a game?" He starts mocking her "Ow shit Deon." When she tries to pull his hands from her shirt it rips. He just grabs more of it including her bra. Instantly her anger turned to fear as she closes her eyes and begs him let her go. "If you don't want a flying lesson get on the phone and get me back in the band. If you don't I'll put you through this fucking window." She suddenly tries her drop down move on him he stops her decent quickly, she wasn't as heavy as she thought he kept her aligned with his body. "Where is your righteous indignation now, huh? Are you calling your fucking husband, or taking a flying lesson through the plate glass, your choice?" She was starting to shake as she began begging him to let her go.
Andrew was walking back down the hall when he hears what sounded like the building coming down. He takes off at a dead run when he hears Angel screaming and then pleading with someone. He hits her office doorway, her office was trashed and Deon was pinning her against the fucking wall. Andrew touches his shirt com and says to the system "Agent Andrew S Interfacing security requested in Alfa South Office NOW. Baza take your hands off of her." Andrew says as he inches into the room. He speaks in a calm detached tone, that reflected nowhere near his current adrenaline filled mood. "Come on Deon there is no way I'm going to let you make good on putting my charge through that glass. I don't want to, but I will end your life to save hers." The bass player looks back at Angel who was starting hyperventilate.
Deon looks away from the agent back into the panicked gaze of Angel. She starts doing something that looked and felt like a series of hiccups then passes out. "Shit. How do I know you won't shoot me anyway?" Deon then feels a gun barrel at his temple. He hadn't even heard the guy move.
Though he would have liked her to stay conscious Angel had just provided Andrew with enough of a distraction to get close enough to reach out and touch the bass player. He puts his gun to Deon's temple and tells him to slowly let go of her and put his hands up with his palms facing the ceiling. The bass player says she's out she'll fall if he lets her go. "You just threatened to throw her out of a 70 story window. Put your fucking hands in the air NOW." Deon puts his hands up and steps back, Angel slides down the wall. Andrew gives a signal, part of his team comes in and grabs Deon and quickly cuffs his hands behind his back reading him his rights. He gets on the floor starts calling Angel by name trying to bring her around, Angel comes awake, locks eyes with him, then starts crying her thanks. After surveillance from her office is released by Interactive and Andrew takes and sends her statement to local, he drives a very quiet Angel home. He soon storms into the guard shack and slammed the door. Frank looks up at him asking what's the matter. Sitting at his desk he runs his hands through his hair. After telling Frank what happened he sighs and says. "That was way too close for my comfort."
Up at the house Angel called and told Middlebrooks about her panic attack today only because she'd passed out. She was still kind of sore from being slammed into the wall, that and the fact that when she passed out Andrew said she'd been twitching. She only remembered Deon's angry gaze as he threatened to toss her out of her own office window. She was just glad she'd moved right instead of straight back when he tipped her desk over or she would have been right in front of her window. She didn't believe that even the thick paned glass would have supported him shoving her against it, especially if he did it as hard as he'd plowed her into the wall. After a much needed shower she changed into her Taker jersey and a pair of pajama pants. She used some of Joshua's body wash. He'd went in to the Davenport this morning to train Larry the night bar tender to manage the club. They were supposed to meet up for lunch at the new restaurant that had moved in on the bottom floor of LEGNA. After calling him and getting his answering service she had sent him a text on her way home telling him she was going home and that they needed to talk. Her phone rings with his ringtone. "Hey" He explains that he'd been in a conference call with a band that wanted to use the club when she called. "That's fine I just wanted you to know I wasn't going to be at LEGNA. Joshua, Deon came to my office today. I should have dinged security the minute I saw his ass in my doorway." Joshua asks what happened. "He wanted back in the band." Joshua says why would Deon go to her he was the one that fired him. "I told him he was talking to the wrong person he called it a copout, we got into an argument and it ended with him rampaging my desk, slamming me into the wall, and threatening to throw me out of my office window. I freaked out and when I couldn't drop move him, it triggered what I will call a panic attack. The next thing I know Andrew is waking me up on my floor, and Deon is in handcuffs." Joshua went from pissed to concerned and asked how she was doing saying he was on his way home. "I'm sore but okay. I used some of your shower gel." Angel used Joshua's scent as a sort of aroma therapy. His shower gel was also stronger than her scent which wouldn't cover the sweaty, alcoholic, puke, cheap cologne combination Deon was wearing.
Joshua understood her last statement more than he wanted to right now so far away from her. He asked her "before or after it started to burn." She eased his mind some when she said before. "Good, babe I'm about…" He looks out the window of the Ivy Transit Limo "5 minutes away tops. Have you told dad?" She says no. "I think you should tell him and soon." She says she will. "I'd like to know which one of the helpful desk jockeys let Deon up there with no access key. Dad can find that out and put them in the fucking unemployment line."
"Deon never did reveal how he got passed the 6th floor up to my office. Joshua if he could get up there, anyone can he looked like he slept in his clothes and smelled even worse." Angel gets up and walks to JC's room, she wanted to hold her baby, today had freaked her out. "He's going to get out and babe I won't lie I'm afraid. He mentioned repeating the Scott fiasco and then threatened me. If I had of just stepped back instead of moving to the right when he flipped my desk, when he crashed into me he could have taken us both out the damn window." As she is about to walk in, Jonathon's picture moves across her screen. Joshua tells her that Deon wouldn't ever get that close to her again. "Dad is calling me I'll call you back." Joshua says he's coming in the house right now. "Okay let me take this call and I'll see you soon."
10 minutes earlier, on their way out of the building Jonathon and Gloria headed down towards Angel's office. Jonathon was proud of his son and daughter they both went to work this morning. It wasn't that long ago that Angel would have been hiding inside of Ivey Mansion. Joshua had admitted to not feeling that easy about going out of the relative safety of their home. Jonathon had told him that he needed to train someone to manage the club especially with their debut tour getting so close. His son said he wasn't driving his bullseye of a truck for a while. Jonathon told him that's why Ivey Transit was in business to get people where they needed to be. After accusing him of copying one of Chase's promotions for the service, Joshua told him that he was right, and that since he'd fired Deon he'd have to run adds for a new bass player as well as train Larry to manage. They knocked on Angel's office door. Her receptionist came running down the hall and says Angela went with her Agent after the man attacked her. She says she'd already ordered another desk and has called Ivey clean up to come in tomorrow at 9am. Jonathon pass keyed Angel's door opened his girl's office, upon seeing it trashed with his own eyes he called her. Just when it was about to send him to her answering service she picked up. "Are you alright, who attacked you, where are you?" Angel tells him and asks him a question that he'd never thought he hear her ask. "If it's what you want I'd be honored to teach you." Gloria stands by his side with concern and question in her gaze. After getting off the phone with Angel, Jonathon closes her office door and turns to Gloria who asks what happened. "Deon put his hands on my daughter. He came into my building, came up to the 70th floor with no passkey and put his fucking hands on what is mine. For now, bars protect him." He turns on the receptionist "I want the footage of this office and the entrance in my inbox before I leave. I want to know whose bright idea it was to let him up here? Was it yours?" The woman shakes her head no and says she'll pull Interactive's film and send it to him at once. "Thank you. Let's go I'm stopping this before it starts."
Gloria wanted to and didn't want to know what Jonathon agreed to teach his girl. As they ride over to Ivey Mansion curiosity won and she asked. "John you told Angel you'd be honored to teach her. What does she want to learn?" he tells her not to ask if she doesn't want the answer. "John?" He says he agreed to teach his daughter how to use a firearm. "In some situations, that could be worse."
"No what could be worse is if that little punk had of made good on throwing my child out of her window. She says he mentioned the drummer before he charged her into the wall and held her there threatening to toss her. He hit so many of her emotional triggers in that small space of time she panicked and passed out. I have people hunting my Band leads like animals. ex-employees going postal on my kin. If the only thing that my child wants is to learn how to protect herself, I'll give it my all to teach her."
Logan had enrolled Glenny in preschool and it was finally time to go get his little buddy. Though Candy and even Nikki had watched Glenny overnight sometimes, he didn't think it would be this hard to drive away from the top notch school this morning. Kevin and Beth swore by the school and Adam liked it too. He sits outside waiting watching his truck clock. Finally, the clock hit 3:15pm. He gets out he told himself he could take extra slow steps and get to his son's class right on time. In 4 and a half minutes his son would come out of the class and he'd be standing right here to ask him about his day. This morning was rough Glenn said he wanted to go play with Nikki he'd told Glenn that Nikki was in school. Beth had asked him could he pick up Adam too. He was glad the school let the cousins be in the same class. Looking at his phone the bell rang when his phone changed to 3:20pm. The door opened he catches Adam's attention. "Hey Adam where's Glenn?" Adam points towards the hall. Just as Logan is about to walk down to the bathroom the teacher comes out with the last student and addresses him. "Yes Mr. Conner, I'm Here for Glenn Conner and Adam Kinkaid, isn't there a bathroom in the classroom? My son can't reach those handles."
"Glenn Dale Connor isn't in the bathroom he was sent to the principal's office. He should be sitting in the little red chairs that line the office you can't miss them." Logan Conner asks her what had Glenn done to be sent anywhere. "I am the afternoon teacher and the morning teacher sent him so I am not aware of the incident. I was told that Logan Conner had been contacted and had not responded." Logan Conner reintroduced himself. "I kind of figured here sign Adam out please and like I said the office will probably like better contact information from you." Logan takes the clip board signs his name and takes Adam with him towards the office.
Hours earlier after talking with The Wolf, Salvatore enters the room he'd locked the blonde in. "Look you ran from me that's not a smart move." She moans in pain. He grabs her by the throat and squeezes until she looks at him. "The only pain killer I have is a bullet now why did you run from me?" He let go so she could respond. She tells him her thoughts on when they blew the windshield. "Well to ease your mind if we wanted to take both of you out that precise shooting was done by yours truly. You are a much better target with all of this going on." He grabs her hair.
Wolfe's voice is heard though a microphone. "You jumped in the car of the German Don want to tell us why?" She starts crying. "Want a pain killer?" She says no and tells them that the German Don was still going after the producer and tells him what she was to do to him and why she was doing it. She asked what time was it. "What, somewhere you got to be? It's 12:00pm." She claims her time had run out, and the German Don would have her baby by now. "I told you, I'd keep the young safe." The woman tells him of the picture. After a quick exchange between Wolfe and his Number One, The Wolf continues in English. "Last chance, if this is all for your offspring to stay safe. I'll give you one choice you for him or him for you." She says him with no hesitation. "Okay I'll even let you watch oh and there are no take backs I've proven that I can get to you." More Irish is exchanged between Wolfe and the man that stood in front of her. The speaker is turned off. Number One gropes her. To which she doesn't flinch he looks her in the eye and says. "You know my guys are really good they didn't break your fucking legs." He gets a call and leaves the room.
Carla's mind was racing a mile a minute. What were they doing? What had she just agreed to? Fear seizes her. She'd just told a mobster that he could kill her for her son. Holy shit she had to get out of here she thought she could do this but what if it was just a set up? What if they didn't protect him? What if Vargo's men were faster than The Wolf's? The guy comes back in with a video camera. "Hey what about the story that I went to go visit family? If I turn up dead won't that be on Chase?" The guy smiles at her. "This isn't funny, what if you guys are too slow my time ran out with Mrs., Vargo over an hour ago. She could already have him."
Salvatore says "She has him but she can't move him right now. She's had him since 8:05 this morning. It's taking her entire cell to pull this off since Wolfe lightened her staff for her. What you think if we fail the deal is off? The only value you have that has kept you alive this long is Wolfe wanted to know what the German Don said to you. Thanks to you, we now know her plans." He yanks her head back and kisses her on the forehead. "Let me tell you something, this den has only been busted once in the 40 plus years Wolfe and his family has been in charge. So get your swim suit ready sweetheart because by today's end a life will be saved and a life will end. Here I want you able to move." He gives her two pills. She looks at them. "I don't work with poison, to slow, if I was going to kill you I'd shoot you in the fucking head no riving in pain just quick bang game over. Take it now." He watches as she takes the pills Wolfe gave him. "Now you have homework you're going to speak on a video. You are a star sort of, you know how to work a camera. If you say anything we don't like the video will turn into a snuff film. Here is the outline of what you will speak about." She reads the paper and starts crying that this looked like a suicide note in the making. "Bingo. like you mentioned can't have people dropping their support from Ivey when you go. Oh yeah, and even if you don't mean it, say something nice to your kid, he'll see this when he's 21."
Number One walks out of the room. Carla treated the video as a stream of questions and answered each one. She added something to the Producer since this felt really final. After she is done. They bring a TV. "What's this for I don't want to see it I know what I said." Number One says it was time to see why she could trust the Den would hold up their end of the bargain. He connects the screen to his laptop and hits a few keys. She sees Glenn Jr. sitting in a classroom. Looking at the bottom of the screen she sees that it is time stamped for this morning. Number One says it's video linked inside the school. He tells her they had been following her son to find out how the German Don was getting the pictures. Carla nodded with her eyes glued to the image of her son in school. He was getting so big. With Megan dead, she had wondered who was feeding him but he looked healthier than at any point she took care of him or didn't. He answered a question and wasn't afraid, he sounded sure. Tears streamed down her face. Number One leaves the room. Carla watched the screen more than she had watched TV in years. The video flipped off. "No please can I see it more plea…" the video turns a different color the kids were on colorful cots. At the top of the screen Glenn Jr. lay staring out the window. Carla wondered what he was thinking about. He still had the stuffed animal Logan had bought him back when he was first born. She has a flashback of Megan and Logan bringing her loads of stuff when Glenn was born. Back when she had a husband, a porn status, a baby, and friends. Now she had no one, no boss, no kid, no husband, she'd meant what she said in the video to Glenn Jr. she did love him she just didn't know how to do it right. She sees a woman take a picture. Damn she'd zoned she wanted to watch. She focuses on the woman that took his picture. The woman then kicks the cot waking him. Carla felt anger at the woman, he had just fell asleep all the other kids were sleeping. The woman grabs him up and tells him for not napping he was going to the office. The woman had to be a part of Vargo's gang. The camera catches back up with him as he walks down the hall alone. Who lets a three-year-old walk alone? The woman has him sit in a colorful chair he was sleepy Carla knew his sleepy face. He asked for Chomp. The woman told him only good boys got their things. The camera changes again Glenn is sleeping on the chair and the woman walks by and wakes him. "Damn, Lady you wanted him to go to sleep. Make up your mind" Carla mumbles. The lady gives him a lunch tray. He just stares at it. Her baby didn't like chicken nuggets. He liked tacos. Carla has another flashback of Glenn eating a taco she got from her boss Sherman and he calling her son part Spanish. That night was why she was in this room today. That night Glenn walked into her shot for the world to see just how bad of a mother she was. Sherman had hit him and told him go to his room. She should have been mad that her boss hit her kid, but noooo she was mad that her kid messed up her shot. That was the shot Vargo saw and tracked her down because Glenn looks like him. Then when she had to tell big Glenn that Jr wasn't his son, her lies, and her world started crumbling. The screen changed again. Fuck she'd spaced again. Was there something in those pills? She looks at the time stamp this was happening now. Anger flared why was his mouth covered, why was he his little hands taped together. They had him but who was they? Carla moved closer to the screen. He was asleep, he flinched in his sleep she'd thought the worse when she saw the tape and his eyes closed. The camera must have been on someone, because it moved like someone was walking towards him. Carla wanted to tell her baby to run, bolt, get out of there. The person picked him up damn it they were taking him and the den or The Wolf wasn't going to save him. She carried Glenn into an office. The camera switches to a room overhead view. As the woman is lifting her son out of the fucking window he is snatched from her hands and a light goes off, the woman falls backwards with a hole in her forehead, large people in all black rush the room. They take her son back in through the window take him out of the office. When they put him in a hall closet she cried until there are no more tears. The Wolfe had lost, there was no way those guys were there to help her boy. The camera picks up Logan Conner walking towards the office with another little boy. Was Logan in on it too? She thought he liked her son.
Back at the school, Logan and Adam briskly walk towards the office. He gets in and there's no Glenny. There's no receptionist, no one was in this front office. Looking down at Adam. He had to find his son. Hearing a sound, he turns around and saw movement in one of the offices. He tells Adam to stay by the door. He wanted answers damn-it. He wanted his son. The afternoon teacher comes running in the office and tells him he can't go back there. "Watch me" he runs into the principal's office and stops in his tracks. The blood drains from his face and into his toes at what he was seeing, a woman had been clearly shot in the head and was now decorating the carpet. Backing out of the office he bumps into the teacher and nearly jumps out of his skin. "Don't just stand there call the police." He checks the next office, dead men and women decorate the halls leading to the different back offices. He really had to find his son. He calls Butch and tells him what is going on, and that Adam is with him, but he can't find Glenn Dale. His dad tells him to stay calm. He whispers harshly into the phone "I can't, there are dead people at my son's school. This isn't that bad of an area. I can't believe this, damn it there's another one." Adam asks him another one what. "Adam, stay where I can see you." he hears sirens. "He didn't want to come to school, I should have let him just stay with me." He looks around "That teacher wasn't surprised to see her coworkers splattered all over the fucking walls. She knew me on sight, and I had never met her before." Logan stops talking and walking. He hears something. A thumping. Taking the phone from his ear. He walks back towards Adam. "Hey Adam do you hear something?" Adam nods his head. "I'm putting you in my pocket pop." Logan put his phone in his shirt pocket, making sure not to hang up. He and Adam starts back down the hall towards the door. He stops, listening there it was again. Thumping "GLENN DALE" Thumping and another sound he couldn't place.
Back at The Wolf's hideout, Carla is on the edge of her seat. "He's in the closet Logan." she yells as if he could hear her. Logan was looking for her son. Correction, he was looking for his son, he loved her boy she could tell. No sane person would run further into a sea of bodies just for kicks. Hell, she would have turned around and got the fuck out of there. Logan approaches the closet, and put his ear to it. He even tells the other kid to go over by the water fountain. When he opened the door and saw their son crying he picked him up, picked up the other kid, and ran down the hall, and out of the building. The camera shot doesn't change. Carla guessed there were no cameras outside. The emotionless teacher walks back down the hall, another flash of light from just off camera and she hits the ground with a hole through one eye. Number One runs back in and tells her to get out. He didn't have to tell her twice. Carla gets up and runs out of the room. A man that had to be The Wolf stood in front of her.
Back in front of the preschool, Logan was too out done, his emotional grid was at the breaking point. When he'd raced out of the building carrying his child and his cousin, the police drew down on him. Kevin drove through the grass and parked his SUV in front of them. Kevin gets out and tells the circle of armed police to stop aiming at his kid, and then identifies Logan as the person who got the call placed not a suspect.
He walks to Logan looks him in the eye. Logan looked like he was going to lose it and soon. He held the boys to his chest. As his gaze darted from him back to the circle of uniformed men. Kevin takes a crying Adam out of Logan's arms and Logan takes the tape off of Short Stuff's mouth. Short Stuff held up his taped hands and cries to Logan that it hurt. Kevin looks around at the people holding up phones and other devices. He tells Logan. "You guys get in my car. I have Ivey Shield on the windows." It was a real pisser that he didn't trust his own men these days, but he would have no accidental friendly fire happen to his family. He watches them get in his vehicle and watched through the window as Logan takes the tape off of Short Stuff's hands. Short Stuff sprung into Logan's arms hugging him around the neck, and you could hear him wailing even through the reinforced glass.
Kevin and his men enter the one story building. Homer Kincaid comes over with yet another partner. Kevin hadn't been that thrilled about the guy but Homer was going through partners quick these days. "So what happened to the other guy the lieutenant you took to Butch's place?" Homer tells him that the guy got busted for drugs and a few other things that was a part of an ongoing investigation. Sighing Kevin says "That seems to be going around. I hate this shit man. These guys, our guys, are making not just the townspeople nervous and rightfully so. Right now I have Logan and the kids out in my SUV. This trend has to stop or the only law will be the feds." He walks in the office and just looks at all the carnage. "What the fuck happened?" an Officer says there are three more dead in the 5th classroom. "Hell there are only 5 classrooms in the building." That thought made him cringe he'd recommended this place to Logan and the first day Short Stuff is here for an entire day, this shit happens? Once the shock wore off Logan was bound to be up his ass and rightfully so. His desk was going to be filled with a tree full of paperwork tonight. "I'm going to be here awhile, Homer go out there take Logan's statement, Butch says he was walking through here looking for Short Stuff. Take his statement, get them in his truck, and get him the fuck away from here." Bobby walks in. "Just the fed I didn't want to have to see today. How you doing Hawk?"
Deon was in more trouble than he knew what to do with. His mother had to bail him out. She asked him something that he asked himself. Where were his boys the ones that got him into this mess in the first place? His mother insisted that he come to their place. He couldn't refuse them anything they had just laid down a large sum of money to get him out. That damn Angel had him taken to jail and he'd got beaten up by some guy in his cell. The guy kept asking him how he liked getting hit as he smashed his head into the bars. He saw the guard watching. His mother was caring for him. His boys hadn't even called him. The last time he'd been in his mother's care was right after Scott tried to end his life. Joshua along with Angel and some of her family had saved his Candy and his life that day. His father comes in and they talk. His father was disappointed in him, by the end of their conversation Deon Sr. had spoken and he was now to leave and never return. "Father, I'm your son. I know I have fallen on hard times, but I have skill I can find another job. I will pay you back every cent. We can sue the city that cop watched that guy bust me up and did nothing."
Deon Sr. had demanded his wife stop coddling their son. He was nearly 30 and every time he got into trouble he was back for help, or to cry and mope around his home. Now with the charges against him and the video that was circulating, his son was giving his last name a bad image. He speaks in South African. "I moved to the country to make a strong living for my family. You have dreams of being star guitarist. Then you threaten the life of your company's legacy. You bring shame upon our name. I give chance after chance." His son speaks of how it is the woman's fault. "Junior, stop it. Don't you see? You are your worst enemy. I give a home no charge, I give you an automobile once again, no charge. I once believed in your dream. No more, I am done. Get out. "
"But …but…What do you mean get out? I'm your only son."
"Did you not hear what I said? You are disgracing my name and my reputation. I gave you everything. I have clients pulling their business because who wants to be associated with a brokerage firm when the offspring of the owner is a woman abusing failure?" His son gets up and into his face saying he is not a woman abusing failure he is a Baza. "You are no longer my son." Deon Sr. pushes Jr. out of his way. Jr. falls to the floor and says he was just like his old man. "I have never struck your mother especially not on film. When I moved here and worked in the mail room." Jr rolls his eyes. "I never struck the Vice President of the firm I started at. So tell me how are you just like me? You are dirt at my feet I disown you. You will get nothing else from me. Leave my home and do not ever return." Deon Jr. gets up and walks out of the bedroom.
That night over in Pyramid, Sally was mortified after finally speaking to Michael. She hadn't meant that she would leave if he didn't speak to her. She'd been at the end of her rope. He'd been so quiet and withdrawn. Today after another long day of silence she'd marched into their bedroom where he was watching television and gave him a hard ultimatum. Either he tells her everything or she would go and stay with Joshua. He got to his feet and told her of the call from the dealer, and his trip to Chase's home and what he'd done for fear that the dealer would make good on hurting or even killing them in front him if he'd refused. He spoke of Chase sending him home. She told him he had better be glad that Chase sent him home, with how that man had been portrayed in the news lately he could have come back to her in a pine box. They now sit on their newly almost constructed back deck. Logan and Bradley had turned their back yard into a project after Michael almost stepped through a floorboard. She'd seen her son today he'd came alone saying that Logan was busy today and she watched as her boy put hammer to wood. He'd been angry and she asked him why and what happened to his face. He told her and a chill went through her. Bradley had deep scaring on the front of his neck his face was also battered. Though the back of his hands were torn up pretty bad he hammered and worked as if the pain drove him. She brings him cold water and when he rinsed out his mouth She asked him why he would get so involved in a lover's quarrel.
Bradley had time to think and before he stuck his foot in mouth he says "Momma I saw him shoving on her and as long as they were yelling at each other that was ticking me, but I kept telling myself to stay my hand. He elevated the situation way too quickly for me to just stand there." Bradley had a little extra for Deon if he ever showed his face again. Fuck a fight that little son of a bitch had put his hands on enough females and the next time he saw the prick he was going to knock the hell or whatever demon made him attack his sister today, right out of him. Now Angel was going to start going to the range and Joshua was going with her with Jonathon. If his brother after the story Joshua had shared with him wanted a gun, this situation was getting way too hot and out of control.
Michael sat watching his son work on their back deck. He listened to Bradley speak to his wife. He was just relieved that the dealer would not be able to hurt him or his family. The court case would still be soon but at the very least he had told his wife where he was. He'd sent a check to Ivey for the damage he'd caused to the man's home. He didn't know what Sally suspected when she busted into their bedroom this evening. He'd at the very least felt with the dealer dead that he could assuage some of her fears.
Angel sat in the room with Cassandra and JC. Angel says "I'm just glad Joshua doesn't have a problem with it. He even said he'd come too."
Cassandra knew why Joshua was changing his tune. Angel hadn't seen the look in her brother's eyes when he saw what Deon did to her. Angel had bruising on her back, and scratches on her chest where her jersey didn't cover. Joshua was battling a few demons of his own and it wasn't her job to tell his wife. He was her friend for the first time, since she'd been such a bitch to him as a child. He was angry and it had a lot more to do with the stuff that happened awhile back than it did with today. Right now he was down stairs sparring with Rapture. Rapture promised her that he'd stop the fight if fancy feet, as he calls Joshua, got too intense. Now that the club had been closed down, Rapture helped her find a home not a condo but a home. She hoped Mark's school didn't refund Rapture's money they still had him listed as an applicant on the website but he hadn't received his acceptance letter yet. She was confident that he'd get in.
Down stairs, Joshua and Rapture are sparring. Rapture blocks Joshua's strike attempt and Joshua tries to frontward roundhouse his ass into the wall. If the kid weighted anymore that shit would have hurt. He saw when fancy feet started taking this way too serious. Rap grabs Joshua by the collar and plants him on the floor. "Look boy, whoever you're fighting in you're head, I'm not him, and I won't take his ass whooping either." Joshua stops trying to hit him and says fine. Rap lets him go and Joshua walks back up the stairs mumbling sorry.
Harold rang the bell at Mark's house. Paula comes to the door one look at him and she looked alarmed and asks him what was the matter. "I'm in this area again on direct mission. I can't tell you more than that I was wondering could I stay with you guys? She asks is it a case that directly affects them like... Harold cut her off with this case he didn't have to worry about his nieces being wrapped up in it. Janet was too old and the twins were too young. "No PJ it's nothing like the Mother case. I promised you I will never put you in harm's way like that again." He was working a case that could very well follow him home. He'd never led a case dealing with The Wolf or a German Mafia Don. The Germans were going to be pissed, if there were any of them left. The Den had taken a major cell of Valentin's people in a fucking preschool. He had lots of dots to connect before he went in guns blazing. Would The Wolf Den come after him if they were able to Identify him? "In fact, never mind I'm sorry I came." Harold turns back towards his rental car. What the fuck was he thinking? He'd missed his nieces and his sister and even his hotheaded brother in law and had come to their door and possibly gave one of the mob family's something to use against him. Holy shit he'd watched to much TV and was giving himself way too much importance. This case hit his desk like a brick. Hawk-Ivey had sent him little to no real information.
Paula stood in the doorway her brother was still beating himself up because he believed his presence drew that crazy bitch April towards her. "Harold have you at least eaten?" He shrugged and said he had to take a late flight to get here. "Ok so I'll take that as a no. Come on in, grab a bite, visit with your nieces, and if you still want to book a hotel or something that is up to you." He turns around, walks over the threshold and grabs her is a fierce embrace. Pulling back from her he asks her were the twins still awake? "Yup Katie and Rosa are playing with Janet in their room. Mark is in the den working on something for the school." Harold stiffened when she said school. "Harold, what's wrong?" Paula says side eyeing him. He shrugs and says this case is just on his mind is all. "Come on Harry let's get you something to eat."
As they sit down in the kitchen, Harold looks to see if Janet's door was still closed. He looks at his little sister. After woofing down a roast beef sandwich Harold stands up and says "I'm going outside will you join me?" There was that look again she reminded him of their mother so much. Wiping her hands on an apron and throwing it on the counter, she grabs him a beer and follows him out on the back porch. Harold takes a long drink of his beer, then sits on the railing, rolling the can in between his hands. When she looks at him while drinking her beer he waits until she takes it away from her lips. Looking into the blue eyes of his sister he says. "PJ I feel like I'm losing my shit. Just last week I cracked a case and when I get home Natalie is acting weird even for her. Ian isn't talking to me. It's like he went back to New York just to become a fucking zombie sitting in front of his computer screen. He questions everything I do or say. More than a few times this week I've asked myself where the hell is my kid? He better not be doing drugs. He's not spacy or anything but his moods are everywhere. One while he's Ian slightly sarcastic but a good kid you know, then the next minute he's a totally different kid. Last night, I get home and Natalie tells me he has 3 Bs a C and a F. I ground him and give him the speech about earning his privileges back with bringing up his failing grade in history. He tells me he's trying but his teacher is a real fucking prick, his words to me." Harold points to himself "I tell him to watch his mouth or I'll wash it out with soap. He tells me I can try it. You know yourself we wouldn't have had teeth had we said that to dad or mom." Harold looks out across the yard. Paula asks him did he hit Ian. "I didn't hit him only because, I know me, and I got a lot shit on my head from work, and I don't intend to start taking it out on my family. I've seen how that shit starts, and I will not be that person. I took his driving privileges away for two months. He starts in on me how he hates me and this and that. So now he's not speaking to me. I'd rather him "hate me" temporally for taking his car, then for knocking his ass through the dining room table at which I'd end up hating myself for becoming the miserable dirty agents I have helped put away." Mark comes out and says Harold did right not to start hitting his son. Paula ask how he knew that Ian wouldn't sneak and drive. "Oh that's easy. I took his keys and the car is at my friend's place in his garage. I also told Ian if I found out that he was driving he wouldn't be driving until he's 21. Now I get called back here on a case like this. Paula asks how was Nat acting weird. "Bottom line, I think she's cheating on me. When I get home she's dressed make up and all. You know from when I was staying here I don't keep exactly librarian hours." Mark says that doesn't mean she's cheating. "Ok how about this, I got home 3 in the morning and she followed me in. Said she went to Walmart. I don't know about you Mark, but if PJ left this house that early in the morning would she be in hot clothes and have her make-up done?" Harold gets off of the railing and sits on one of the deck chairs. He looks down at his clenched fist. "It makes me wonder things, like was she in a big hurry to get back to him when she left here with Ian." After speaking with Mark and Paula, Harold felt a little better now that he let some of this shit out in the air.
When Paula goes to bed Mark sat up and they talked. Mark say's "Harry I respect you. Take it from someone that's had the wool pulled over his eyes before." Harold jumps up to defend Paula. "No, would you hush up before you wake her up. Not Paula, my ex-girlfriend Racheal." Harold sits down and says he'd heard about her. "I'm sure you have, if you really got this feeling and it isn't going away check it out stake her out." Harold gets a look in his eye as he rattles off the ways he was going to start digitally tracking his wife's daily life. "Holy shit, you're a scary little man you know that."
That night, Logan, Candy, Glenny, and Adam have tacos at his home. When Candy said she saw the evening news and was checking on him he invited her over. He'd called Tracy and she was with Frank tonight, He'd called Bradley, and his boy was working on the Davenport's deck. He'd told Bradley not to overdo it. Bradley had promised he'd be careful. Around 10 or so, Bradley showed up. After Adam is picked up by Kevin who couldn't even look Logan in the eye. Candy offers to get Glenny who was clearly fighting sleep to go to bed. Logan says "I'll do it."
Glenny begs his dad not to leave him. His dad closes the door to his bedroom and put him in his bed. Glenny sits up and says "Daddy, I not sleepy," a big yawn takes him a minute to control. "Chomp is gone, and he won't bite the bad guys." Glenny looks down at the covers.
Logan hadn't been thinking about a stuffed animal. He'd been in frighten flight mode trying to keep his mental shit in check long enough to find his son. Seeing his son bound in that closet was like putting fire to a fuse. He brought the boys home after Homer came out and took his statement, and gave him clearance to get in his truck. Logan was home in 20 minutes flat. He'd came in locking doors, and brought in Row, gave Adam a video game and gave his son a bath and made sure to put some cream on his little hands and face, so he wouldn't break out from the adhesive on the tape. He didn't know if people were still watching his kid and he wasn't taking any fucking chances. He'd have Glenny homeschooled if need be. Fuck socialization of kids his own age. He'd read and listened to that rhetoric for the last time, he'd do things his fucking way. Realizing that he'd zoned he came back to the here and now. He sits in the rocker recliner. "Hey Sport, how about you come over here and lay on me, maybe we can both take a snooze." Glenny climbed out of bed, ran over, and jumped on him. He hugged his son, and just stared off into space. Glenny had explained about his teacher and none of it made sense, he was glad Glenny didn't just clam up, which was his usual behavior when scared. The fact that his son trusted him enough not to just climb in his own head and just stare at him, like he'd did to Candy and even Bradley for most of this afternoon, was a blessing. Apparently, one of the teachers had yellow hair like Candy, and one of the guys that hugged his hands with the sticky stuff looked like Bradley with dark hair on his face and head. Logan had always been clean shaven. He was just glad none of the fucking goons looked remotely like him. He explained that Candy and Bradley were not the people at his school or they would have brought him home to daddy. Glenny at the very least before they came in here said goodnight to Candy who'd fixed him his favorite, tacos. Logan guessed it was something, that maybe that action, or routine, set her apart from the blonde at the school. Watching his son tear in to his food, made Logan feel conflicting emotions, yes Glenny was eating and that was a plus, but the fact that something told his son not to eat what those people put in front of him, said to Logan that when, and if Glenny did start school, he'd be providing lunch for his kid. He didn't even want to think about what could have been in that food. These people bound a three-year-old in tape and stuck him in a closet. Soon Glenny relaxed and went to sleep wrapped around him. Something Janet had spoken with him about pops into his head, he carefully gets up and puts Glenny in his bed, tucks him in, turns on his Iron Man light, walks out the door snapping his fingers. Row came trotting down the hall. "Row bed" Logan opens his son's door to let the large dog inside. He stands in the doorway in case Row woke Glenny. Row hopped up on the bed and lay his massive head near Glenny's hand. In his sleep, Glenny soon turns and cuddles with the massive animal. Row lifted his ears and looks at Logan. "Good boy" Logan closes the door and walks back down into the living room. Bradley asks how he was holding up. Rubbing his hands over his face he says "I'm not, I need a drink, and to not think about this shit anymore tonight, before it drives me completely bat shit." Bradley says he can get him something stronger.
Candy and Logan look at him and ask almost in unison if he was talking about drugs. That pissed him off it had been almost a half of a calendar fucking year since he'd did any drugs. "Do I look like a fucking moron to you both?" he points to Candy "Drugs are what made your man into the guy that attacked you, me, and my fucking sister no thanks. I've been clean almost half a year." He points to Logan "As for you Logan, you're my boy true enough, but you're also my boss. I was talking about vodka man, putting you on your face before you lose it. You haven't set down and not been twitchy since I got here. When you do sit down it's like watching harnessed energy. I don't need you flipping out man, I've seen glimpses of your other side and I don't have bail money. So with that being said vodka run anybody?" They apologize for hurting his feelings. Bradley shrugs and heads out. Candy says she'd come with him. "You don't have to, but ok."
Days earlier, after re-watching Angel and Band Troll win awards at the Grammys. Glenn tried once more to call his father. Joel Jacobs would have none of that. He called to wish his parents a happy 25th anniversary. His father wouldn't even let him speak to his mother. His family had stopped talking to him soon after he'd signed his first contract to become KANE. They said his character conflicted with their religious beliefs. Mark had always been his best friend from childhood he didn't start calling him brother until after he signed his contract and Glenn's family cast him aside. Now Mark wasn't talking to him. He'd went out, bought another computer and started stalking Angel's site, someone fried his computer. He missed her so fucking much it hurt. Glenn felt like shit, had he really been what Jonathon called him, a poison to one of the only families besides his own that accepted him no matter what? He and Mark worked together, and he had to find out about Megan through locker room buzz, and the fucking news. Jonathon was right, his presence would have done more harm than good at the funeral. The fight with Mark proved that once and for all. Showing up at the hospital to get closure from Angel, was a stupid move. Now he didn't even have the NIN jacket. Slamming his fist on the wheel he remembers punching the ice machine while leaving Angel a heated message, that would tear them apart forever, and give Band Troll easy pickings. Now his wife Carla, the woman he threw in Angel's face, had destroyed even the little slither of hope he had of still having Mark as a friend, let alone a brother. He was like a storm that blew through town, leaving destruction in his wake. He'd destroyed a marriage, yeah Megan had been a willing participant, but he didn't have to start it he'd blamed it on Logan that she was lonely. Before he slept with the man's wife, Logan and he were cool, so that was another betrayal on his headboard of fuckups. He defended his woman to Mark and she turned out to be a kidnapper of his friend's child. He kept following Angel around whether on purpose or not, it just didn't matter anymore, there was never going to be anything between them. It didn't matter anymore that Glenn knocked out Band Troll in his club, the sneaky fucker had come back and knocked Glenn out of the picture altogether. He needed to stay the fuck away. Stopping by the liquor store he bought a shit tone of Jack, and his cousin Jim Bean. Went home wrote out his thoughts and grabs the pills his wife had almost killed their son with. He turns on Angel's Angelic Impression's reedition of "Don't You Remember" by Adele. He puts it on repeat on his phone, and goes and sits on the side of his bed that he used to share with his wife. Carla needed his help, and he yelled at her, and he hadn't heard from her since she ran from the house. Here lately, everything he touched turned to shit. This was for the best, at least he wouldn't accidently on purpose keep stalking Angel. It was better this way. She moved on and Band Troll made her happy. Joshua Davenport had won. She had a kid now and Band Troll was right no matter if he'd taken Band Troll out at his place, Angel would never love Glenn, not like she loved Joshua. Tears stream down his cheeks as he remembers when she sang this song at the fucking club. Mark was never going to speak to him again. His parents would die before they said another word to the big red demon that had become their son. Hell the writers had taken him out of the main event at Mania because Vince said he just wasn't a pull like he used be. Mark would have gone into Vince's office and came back out with a smirk and told him he was safe. It had happened in the past, but on his own merit and without Mark in Vince's ear, Glenn's career was heading into the toilet. He empties the bottle of tranquilizers into his hand, set the first empty bottle of Jack on his note, and took the pills chasing them with the gallon of Jim Bean and crying. Soon after he lays back the battery dies on his phone and Angel's voice no longer blankets the sound of his lamenting sobs. He tries to get up and to turn the song back on sitting up was the last action he did. His body gave out, and he fell back on the bed as his last breath escaped his lips his world tumble into darkness.
After seeing proof that her son was safe in a video of him scarfing down tacos with Logan and the other little boy sitting with him in what she had been told was Logan's place. Carla tried to argue that they hadn't caught Mrs. Vargo. The Wolf pulled off his sunglasses and she met the angry green glare of a man that had killed Monroe while in the same room with her. He tells her it was her time. She begs to go to her house one last time. He says Carla could not care much for her husband and asked her why she hadn't said anything to him in her goodbye video. "He won't care. He's too busy chasing unattainable Ivey tail." Wolfe asks her to explain. "I knew he had other females, the business they are in would prove it. She gave him a smile and wink and he was her putty to do with what she pleased. So I got angry and while that damn system and the dog was watching my kid. I went to save my marriage." He asks her why she wanted to go home then. "Glenn hid my baby's prescription that's why I gave him the Nyquil that sent him to the hospital. Glenn was making my baby nervous with his beating down the door. So between his obsession with music and red heads he comes back and that's how the police got such a good case on me he set me up, so he could be with Ivey's daughter he'd already sent me the divorce papers. To get me out of the fucking way. Did I do the stuff to my kid, yes. Glenn was supposed to raise him and keep him fucking safe. He told me he was over the fact that he wasn't Glenn Jr's blood father. Evidently not, because the minute I go in the big house he gives my boy away. When I was working for the German Don and "Dating Chase" Glenn threatened to end Chase since Chase's girl is not interested in his "star status" anymore. I told him that our baby was in danger and he turned his back on me. So before I die I want to go to my home and have one last meeting with the man that would not help me and there's this dress I want to wear, it was my wedding dress, if I'm going to be found some where I want to be dressed in more than this. So when you show my kid he's not ashamed of his mother that died like the whore she is." he'd given her two hours and tells her his men would be close. She got in one of The Wolf's cars and drove home.
At Glenn's home, Carla opened the door and no alarm. That was odd she smells something that was rank, following the stench walking to the master bedroom. She couldn't believe her eyes Glenn lay across their bed, bottles and pill bottles alike littered the floor. She'd come here to shoot him and grab her fucking wedding dress. Wow, he'd even managed to fuck up her plans for getting back at him. She picks up the pill bottle her prints wouldn't matter in a few hours no way. She reads the name and drops it. These were the tranquilizers she'd been giving Glenn Jr. for messing up her shot the shit that got him sent to the hospital a few times. She has a flash back of rushing him to the hospital when he didn't respond to her the day after she hit him and shook him and his little body shook she had managed to get him awake enough to swallow the shit to make him puke that Sherman had giving her, and that had just made it worse. She'd took him to the hospital and told them he was sick. The hospital had him admitted so she'd went and did a job and almost rose suspicion on herself when she hadn't come back to the hospital in time for him to be released they had almost called Glenn Sr. She found out that the second time for him being hospitalized started the investigation. She speaks to the dead body of her husband. "What did you figure I'd be back to take you to hell with me and thought you'd get a head start? You always fuck up my plans." Then she sees it under one of the bottles of Jack Daniels a written note. Moving Mark's favorite drink Glenn liked Jim Bean this was a tribute to drinking in Mark's basement on their weeks off. She reads his final words as she walks to their closet and looks for her dress.
To Joshua's Angel: I heard your song again today when I watched the awards, between that and the fact that I realize I was way too everything to you and none of it good. I think of you Angel and I wonder what could have been? What if I'd answered your call? What if I'd not called you a whore and scared the shit out of you. What if I'd not kept my marriage a secret and then turned around and threw her in your face? Then Joshua wouldn't have had to cheer you up. I have been so compelled to tell Joshua how much of a better father I would be to your child, and I have proven that I'm crap when it comes to parenting. I was so smug when I left that hospital on Thanksgiving. I thought I'd finally found a kink in the trust chain Joshua has on you. I was wrong. When I found out that Kathy had been stalking you from the beginning of your pregnancy. The shit I said that Bobby has on tape I hope to god you know that I would never want to hurt you in that way. I didn't send Carla after Jonathon. I have no proof but I swear I didn't know what was going on until it landed with Mark in my living room. I know Joshua and maybe even you suspect that I had Carla put Mark out with whatever the fuck was in the ring she was wearing because we were fighting. I never would have done that to him. Never have I used anything but my own to hands against him. Watching you really happy with Joshua and knowing that we can never be together. Cuts deeper than any knife Joshua owns. He won, he won your trust and along with that your love. I know this doesn't fix a damn thing and I know my actions have hurt you and I'm sorry. This way I know I'll never hurt you again.
To Mark: I am so sorry about fucking Megan. I was trying to feel something with someone that looked like Angel I could have just as easily one hit wondered Logan, a part of your family and traumatized my own kid forever. Mark I tried to visit you when I got released from questioning. I heard you tell the nurse that I wasn't to be allowed anywhere near you. You were the only one on my side for the better part of my adulthood, and I let you down. I'm also sorry you were right when you said I no longer had the right to call you brother. I didn't have Carla do that to you I swear, and if I could prove it I would gladly. Mark I've fucked up a lot in the past few months, with everything I've done whether directly or in directly to you Mark it's a wonder you didn't cut ties with me a long time before now. I'm sorry I hurt you.
To Carla: Honey I can't lay all the blame on you even though I tried. I'm sorry I lead you on to believe we could be back together.
Signed:
Glenn just Glenn
Carla collects her other favorite dress since she couldn't find her wedding dress. She wore the dress Sherman her old boss had bought her; she'd escorted a rich client to a party. She felt she'd did all she could to avenge her boss's death Monroe his killer was dead. After reading Glenn's note he'd gave her his last fuck you. She drops the note on his body and takes his wedding ring. She'd seen something in the video of her child that she hoped he kept doing, he smiled and didn't look like he was about to run. Though he would never smile at her at least someone was going to raise him that cared and loved him. Getting in Glenn's truck Wolf's men followed her. She sees Number One get in the car she'd driven to Glenn's home. Damn she'd forgot how huge his custom built truck was. She was back to driving a bolder down the highway. Glenn's prized possession needed some decoration. She'd get to the bridge she was to jump off of she wanted to fuck up his truck first. She speeds really letting the truck fly. She was coming up on traffic. An idea hit her she takes an exit ramp. She knew where she wanted to dive off into the lake at now. Coming around Charry Lake Park she drove through the park it was late at night this monster truck that her husband loved so fucking much was going to take a drink. She aims the truck at the little swinging rope balustrade that lined the bridge. It was coming she felt the turbo kick in and heard the humming of the engine as it shifted into a higher gear. Not even in death had her husband said he loved her. Well she guessed it was fair because she hadn't mentioned him in her suicide video. But it still hurt. She tricked him into marrying her and when he saw the real her he didn't want her. Her mother didn't even remember her. She hits the railing made of rope and wood and took it out with no resistance she was airborne. She saw the water coming towards the windshield and tried at that last minute to open the door suddenly she was under water. Though this was supposed to happen the water filling the cab of the truck was freaking her out.
2a.m. Salvatore looks down from the bridge and watches to make sure the little blonde bitch didn't last minute his ass. Wolfe wanted her dead, and his boss didn't play that "I Survived" shit. With one of The Wolf's orders you were either dead, or dying soon, no in between. He'd sent one of the lower ranking members of the den into the water to make sure she was still down there. The guy jumped in. Salvatore says "I didn't mean fully clothed. Smart help is so hard to find." Soon the guy surfaces with the broad's rings. Salvatore flicks his tooth pick into the lake and shakes his head. "Unless you can find a way to flip it for cash tonight leave them." The guy says he has a place in mind and a few people that will buy. "You know the rules Wolfe gets 60% of any profit you make." Sirens were getting closer. Salvatore loved parts of his job. His acting skills weren't going to help him if feds showed up so he gets in his car and drives off. He was to pay the Producer a visit. They'd hunted down the newest hideout of the German Don. One of her people had a family, was in trouble with the law, and not to mention broke until his suspension was lifted. So it was easy to get answers in exchange for protection and a loan from The Wolfe that he would pay back plus 150 large in interest.
