"Where am I?"

Gaster's low voice reached my ears as he stepped beside me, "I cannot tell you. I am merely here to keep you company until he arrives."

I looked up at Gaster, finding that he was no longer the melting skeleton that I had visited in the void, but a tall, put together scientist, who looked to be strictly on business.

I took a good look around my surroundings, finding that while most of it were dark nothingness. There was an area in the center of the room, with a bed of buttercups and light shining down onto said buttercups.

I bit my lip, looking back to Gaster, "What's happened, Gaster? Why am I here?"

Gaster looked down to me, the cracks in his skull still present, but his eyes a blue and red, his voice dangerously low, "You, are dead, child. You are here to learn of the outcome to your life, and that is all."

Tears pricked uncomfortably at the corners of my eyes, "Dead? What? But, I've just gotten back to my universe. How can I be dead already?"

Gaster looked taken aback, his eyes wide, "You do not remember?"

I crossed my arms, frustrated tears making their way down my cheeks, "Remember what?! Gaster, stop being so cryptic and just tell me already!"

Gaster turned away, refusing to face me, but answering my questions, "You made it back home. Months ago. So much had happened since you had gotten back, and none of it good. In fact, people died. There was a war."

My arms dropped to my sides as I looked at Gaster in disbelief, "Wha- What? No, no, that's impossible. You must be mistaken. No one in their right mind would declare war between the Humans and Monsters. I mean- who did it? Was it Cohen? I bet it was Cohen; he's despised me and the Monsters since we've come to the Surface."

Gaster turned around and faced me, his eyes holding venom in them, "You declared war upon the Humans. And you killed thousands by doing so."

I looked down at my hands incredulously, before looking back to Gaster, "No, no, you're wrong. I would never, never do anything like that. You're either mistaken, or you're lying to me about everything for some sort of ridiculous test, because it's not possible for me to have-"

Gaster roughly placed his hands on my shoulders, scowling, "You've killed people; you are not the woman who is known as the savior of the Underground, and will no longer be known as that forevermore."

I furrowed my brows in anger, hot tears escaping from my eyes, "You have no right to treat me like this. I have no memory of anything that may or may not have happened, and it is wrong of you to be so derogative towards me!"

Gaster gave me a dry laugh, his eyes full of spite, "I have every right to act as I do right now!" Gaster's chest was heaving with deep breaths, his entire being shaking with anger, "I told you to take care of them. I trusted you. But you got them turned to dust."

Before I could begin to scream at this skeleton, a voice interrupted us, "Gaster, you can leave now. I'll take care of everything with Frisk now." I turned around to find Asriel, who gave me a small smile, "Come on Frisk. There's a lot to be discussed."

I turned to Asriel, as he led me away from Gaster and towards the center of the room, where the buttercups were,"Azzy, what is going on? Gaster said I got people killed, and that I declared war on the humans? But that's not possible. Not in a million years would I even think about-"

Asriel's voice was soft as he sat me down on the buttercups, "Gaster was telling the truth, Frisk. A lot of horrible things happened; a lot of people died. Everything went wrong."

I looked for a trace of dishonesty within Asriel, but found nothing. My voice was just a whisper, "What? How- How did this happen?"

Asriel gave me an empathetic look, "You just chose the wrong path. I know it feels terrible, but there's nothing you can do to fix any of it. You can only own up to your actions and move on."

I looked into Asriel's bright green eyes, tears escaping no matter how I tried not to cry, "How can I move on, Asriel. I've gotten people killed, I declared war on Humans, and I've completely fucked up the timeline. I'm dead. Permanently. What am I supposed to do?"

Asriel was silent for a moment, before getting up and lending a hand to help me up, "There is one thing, that can't fix things, but can give us a fresh start."

I wiped my tears, following Asriel to a darker part of the endless abyss we were in, "What can I do? Please, tell me what I can do to make things better."

Asriel stopped, revealing a small options menu. Asriel stepped aside, letting me step up to the menu, "You know about the normal resets, but you don't know about a True Reset."

I held a cautious hand out to the menu, the options glowing with yellow when I waved my hand over them, "A True Reset? No, I haven't heard of that one before. What does it do, exactly?"

Asriel gave me a small smile, before sighing, "I explained it a lot whenever you, or rather, Chara, came to the end of an adventure in the Underground. A True Reset, will erase everything thoroughly; it will take you back to the beginning of your journey. It may even take you as far back as the beginning of your life. With a True Reset, no one will remember anything, at all. It will be as if... nothing ever happened in the first place."

I looked at the True Reset option, before my eyes flitted over to the Continue option, "And... what happens if I just continue?"

Asriel gave me a sad look, "You'll be trapped here. You'll be able to see alternate universes and such, and even our universe, but you will not be able to interfere or do anything. You would only be able to observe; trapped in this empty abyss."

I looked incredulously at Asriel, before looking back down to the True Reset option, "So my best choice, is to just restart? Erase everything?" I looked up at Asriel, getting a nod from the monster. I took a deep breath, slightly backing away from the options menu, "No one will remember anything? Not Sans, not Grillby, not Gaster, not you? Everything will be completely eradicated? This timeline will be... gone?"

Asriel nodded, his eyes holding a great sadness, "Nothing will remain. Everything will start anew. But, Frisk, this is our best option." Asriel let out a small breath, "What will you choose, Frisk?"

I stepped closer to the options, holding my hand out above one of the choices, the choice glowing a familiar yellow.

I made my decision.
