In which I make no attempt to apologize for length of this chapter *idgaf plays loudly in background*

"Let's see now." Beastboy pushed all his belongs off the dresser and onto the floor, stale chips, broken CDs, and bread with questionable fuzz growing fell down onto the already messy ground, clearing up just enough space for him to work. "Which charm should I make?"
His fingers treaded lightly on the pages, running down the index, squinting his eyes and focusing on the tiny cursive words
"Money?" he asked, idly, pausing one glove-clad digit just bellow the number that marked the page
"Nah… too much work…" he said, rubbing the jade skin of his chin with his free hand. "I'm already lucky enough…and it's not like I need a love charm." He wiggled his brows before leaning down, his arms placed firmly on either side of the book.
"So what should I make…?"
Protection Spell read the last option
"Like I need protection." He laughed, shaking his head, already moving to close the book, take it back to Raven with a lame excuse on how he didn't understand it, it wasn't like he could tell her he didn't want to make anything, less she never open up to him again, when the words on the page began to move slowly, causing him to jump back in shock.
"What the hell?!" He yelled out with a furrow of his green brows, as the words began to form sentences, cut short, a poem
He leaned in slowly, reading with caution, as if the tiny letters may spring to life and attack (which was a completely founded fear, by the way, when it came to creepy magic)
A pure heart may pass
Protection on a fair lass
To defend her against evil
And any form of wicked will
What? That made about as much sense as eating meat, and in his confusion he rose his voice
"I don't have anyone to defend, stupid book!"
The words faded out, and new ones slowly appeared.
The darkness surrounds her being
With bits of sanity slowly fleeing
She has but one last chance
Her fate is in your hands
"Who are you even talking about?" He asked, watching it carefully as it replied.
A black bird with unheard cries
With no light held in sad eyes
A heart that breaks in two
In need of a love true
"Black bird with sad eyes? What do you…" His eyes widened slowly in realization. "You mean Raven?"
Protect her from whispered lies
Before her soul completely dies
She's wandered from her fated path
And only you can bring her back
Just like that, the words faded, and the pages flipped, right to the section on protection charms, but slowly the other spells faded, leaving only one in its wake.
"Only me, huh?" He whispered, his hand slowly trembling before touching the yellow pages softly.
A soft sigh escaped his lips before he finally decided.
"Well… better get to work."
A/N: Yo, I legitimately forgot about this story, shout out to the person that most recently favorited and reminded me I was writing like 8 incomplete stories, though most of those others are being deleted (I don't even like half the other stories anymore, it's embarrassing to read what I used to think was good plotting and character development)
I've been mostly focused on my Fem!Lock story, and just more live action shows than usual (Sherlock, Elementary, Supernatural, Dexter...) I forgot about my other fandoms, so my apologies, I'll continue as originally planned (MAYBE), but my writing style (as well as mannerisms) have changed significantly since my last update, so be aware that it may end up not sounding like some of you had favorited and followed in the past
