Christian's POV

Words cannot describe how pissed off I am right about now. After Anna and I talked back at my office, I personally drove her back to Escala and made sure that she was away from harms hands.

"Christian, please don't be mad. It was all my fault. I'm the one that went and didn't tell you." She begs from the passenger seat. I try my best not to show how mad I am, but I'm not doing a very good job at it. I grip the steering wheel so tight that I can feel the veins in my hands budge out.

"Ana, I already told you." I try to keep my voice even. "I'm not mad at you right now. I'm angry with Taylor and the rest of the security team for that matter. They should have been looking out for you and they didn't and look at what happened." I throw my hands up in the air to further my point.

"I know, Christian, but in all honesty what were they supposed to do? I didn't want Taylor to come into my room with me anyway to watch me get dressed and stuff. I was just going to be a few minutes and…" She trails off and shrugs her shoulders because we both know what happened from there. I take a calming breath and reach my hand out to grab hers. I know that I should be mad at her right now, but Ana is still fragile and needs a shoulder to lean on.

"We'll get through it, baby." I pull her hand up to my mouth and give her a kiss.

Back at Escala, the first thing I did was sure that Ana was taken car of. I helped her change her clothes into something more comfortable and made sure that she had something to eat. She fought me on he eating part, but yet here she sits at the counter with a plate full of food in front of her.

"Can we please just drop it, Christian?" Ana sighs at me. Since we got back, I've been extremely verbal with my feelings for both Taylor and the bastard Kevin.

"Ana, I'm not just going to let this sit. I will have a stern talk with Taylor and let him know that his job may be on the line due to his lack of obedience. I pay him a large salary for a reason and I'll be damned if anything happens to you. Hell, it could have been a lot worse than what it already was!" I can feel my rage begin to boil under my skin, but I can't help it. She's being completely unreasonable and doesn't understand he severity of the situation. I stomp into the kitchen and turn around to face her. "What is Kevin had a gun? What if he wasn't alone? What if he slit your throat instead and you were bleeding to death on the kitchen floor and nobody was there to do anything about it! What about then, Anastasia? Would it be alright if Taylor didn't come save you then?" The words rush out of my mouth before I even know what I'm saying. My eyes budge out of my head and look at her grief-strike face. Guilt immediately floods my body. "Ana, I'm sorry." I take a step toward her and my heart nearly snaps in half when she jumps off the stool and backs away from me.

"Stop, Christian." She pleads with tears in her eyes. "This is the last thing I need right now." She turns around and runs towards the bedroom.

Fuck. I need to learn when to shut my fucking mouth. I run my hands through my hair a couple times and take a deep breath. I need to figure this out. Taylor needs to be talked to as soon as possible, but right now Ana needs me. I head down the hallway and into the master bedroom. Ana isn't anywhere to be seen so I go over to the guest bedroom and find her curled up on her side in the middle of the bed. I quietly lay down behind her and wrap my arms around her petite frame.

"I'm sorry, Ana. I know that this is tough for you." I kiss her head softly. I feel her sigh and bring her hands up to cup her face.

"Please don't yell at me, Christian. I already know I screwed up. I don't need to hear it anymore."

I hug her tighter into my chest. "I promise I'll make thing better." That's the only thing I know to say right now. What more can I do? "But I need to talk to Taylor. What happened shouldn't have happened while he was on the clock." She doesn't say anything but I know its because she feels responsible. "Ana, what do you want me to do?"

She shifts under me and turns until we're face to face. I look into her beautiful blue eyes and see nothing but fear and confusion. "I just want him gone, Christian. Like forever gone. I don't even want to hear his name again." Her eyes drop down from mine. Even though she hasn't been with him for a while, I tell that he's left a scar on her.

"Hey," I say and raise her chin until she's looking at me again. I lean down and softly brush my lips over hers. "I'll take car of it okay. Everything will be fine and back to normal in no time."

"How do you know that, Christian?" She whispers. "Why can't we just call the police or something and get it over with?"

"If we get the police involved then it's just going to be a huge mess of investigations, questioning, and court dates. Just let me take car of it okay, baby. Don't worry your pretty little head with this anymore." I kiss her forehead.

"If you say so." She sighs again my cheek. I can tell she's tired. After what's she's just been through, she deserves a good sleep. I get off the bed and gently scoop her up in my arms. "What are you doing?" She asks and I head toward our bedroom.

"Putting you where you belong." I say and place her down on the master bed. I take the covers and wrap them around her watch as she relaxes into the pillows behind her.

"Why don't you get some rest?" I say and lean down to kiss her lips. "I'll go make a couple phone calls and make you some much needed food."

"You're going to cook?" She mumbles.

"Smart mouth. Okay, fine. I'll go see what Ms. Jones is up to." I peck her on the lips once more. "I'll wake you up in a few, baby."

"Mmmm." She sighs and I can already tell that she's out like a light.

Now that Ana is asleep in our bed and I can keep an eye on her, it's time that I deal with a few issues at hand. I head into my office and the first thing I do is call Taylor.

"Yes, Sir." He answers on the first ring.

"What the fuck do you think I pay you for? I tell you and the rest of the team to watch Anastasia and all of a sudden she's running into my office with a knife wound? You're damn lucky that I'm not firing your ass right on the spot!"

"Sit, I assure you that this will not happen again. The team and I assumed that apartment was all right. We checked it out last night and nothing was out of the ordinary."

"Well, you're damn lucky that she wasn't hurt any worse than she was. From now on you do as I say and don't assume anything. Am I clear?" I take a seat in my desk chair to keep me from falling over.

"Very clear, sir."

"Good. Now, what are we going to do about this bastard Kevin?" Taylor is silent for a few moments.

"I have some ideas that I think you're going to enjoy, Mr. Grey."

"Great. Let's hear them." I lean back in my chair and smile to myself.
