COMPLETELY AU! Partly OOC! Time travel!

Madam Pomfrey left again after making sure that Remus was comfortable, and the Animagi made themselves as comfortable as possible. Nothing happened, and Harry found it quite boring, especially as he was only able to communicate with Lily in her owl form. 'Oh well, at least I can speak with her,' he mused. 'Severus and Remus don't have anyone to talk to.'

Very slowly, the sky began to darken and the moon appeared behind the windows; however, Remus was lying on the bed, still in his human form. Stepping as far away from the bed as he could, Harry quickly transformed into his human form and addressed Severus in Parseltongue.

"Severusss, it seemsss as if it worked. Don't you think so? The moon isss already up."

"I believe that it worked. However, to be really sure we have to wait until midnight and sssee if he transformsss. Please change back instantly," snake Severus hissed back.

At midnight, Dumbledore flashed into the room in a bright flash of flames. #Harry, I assume nothing happened so far?# he queried.

#No, he didn't transform. Does that mean that we succeeded?# Harry trilled back excitedly.

Dumbledore nodded and changed into his human form. "Considering that Remus didn't transform but is still human, I assume that you managed to cure him, Severus and Harry. Congratulations. At least this one time he didn't transform. If he is completely cured from his illness we'll still have to find out next month."

The friends transformed back into their human forms and congratulated Remus and Harry and Severus, causing Harry to vehemently shake his head. "Don't thank me. Severus brewed the potion for Remus. Congratulation Remus. I hope it'll be a permanent solution and not a single one."

"We'll know that next month, and if it only works for one time, I'll just have to brew the potion every month," Severus said softly, only to add, "Harry, if you hadn't found and translated the recipe, I wouldn't have been able to brew the potion."

"Credit to both of you my boys," Dumbledore threw in. "150 points each to Slytherin and Gryffindor. Please excuse me now. I'll have to go and inform my wife and Madam Pomfrey of the brilliant news. I want everyone except for Remus to leave and get a good night's sleep. Good night." With that Dumbledore changed into his phoenix form and was gone.

Needless to say that the Marauders transformed back into their Animagus forms and remained in the Shrieking Shack until Madam Pomfrey came to fetch Remus in the morning.

When the Marauders returned to the Gryffindor common room after their last afternoon class, Remus addressed Harry.

"Harry, thank you so much for what you've done for me," he said, gratefully.

Harry sighed and patiently explained, "Remus, you don't have to thank me. Severus is the one who brewed the potion for you. Oh, by the way, now you have to practise to become an Animagus. Your excuse is not valid anymore."

"You mean that we're going to spend the nights of the full moon in the forest anyway?" Remus laughed at his friend.

Harry smirked. "Of course; I wouldn't want to miss our Animagi nights anymore, and I'm sure the others wouldn't either."

Remus let out a long sigh. "All right Harry, but I'll wait until after the next two nights of the full moon. Dumbledore told me he'd arrange with my parents that I may stay at Hogwarts for a few days around the next two full moons during the summer holidays, and that James, Sirius and Severus may come as well, maybe Lily too, so you can all watch over me during the full moon. You're going to stay with your grandparents anyway, aren't you?"

Harry nodded, thinking how nicely his meddling grandfather had managed to get all his friends to stay with him for some time during the holidays. "I'm so happy for you, Remus, and I can't wait to see if the potion worked as I imagined it."

During the week until the tests, the Marauders spent all their free time together to study. One day, Severus was late and everyone was already wondering what might have happened, when he showed up, looking very happy.

"Dumbledore called me to his office after dinner and suggested that I could stay at Hogwarts over the holidays to work for my Potions Master's exam; he said if I work on the Potions Mastery during the holidays and in the evenings in seventh year like I did during our sixth year, I'll probably be able to take the Potions Master's test next summer. But that's not all," he added happily. "He also said that if I passed the test, he'd want me to become Slughorn's successor next summer, since he wants to retire anyway. He already talked to my mother, and she has allowed me to stay here."

"Oh, Severus, that's great," Harry said, happily looking at his best friend. "I'm so glad for you." 'That's absolutely fantastic,' he thought. 'I wouldn't want to spend the holidays alone here at Hogwarts anyway, especially considering that I'll only be able to spend another year with my friends in the past.'

"That's thanks to you, Harry; I know you suggested to him to hire me as Potions professor; I'm not that stupid." Severus quirked an eyebrow, causing his friends to laugh.

Harry smirked. "I only told him that you'll be Britain's best Potions Master during the next decades, and it was easy for him to keep you in my time, because he saved you from Azkaban due to your Death Eater activity and you needed his protection. However, considering that everything is different now, he has to make some effort to keep you here, and believe me; I want you to be here in nineteen years' time, when I'll be back in the future."

"I will," Severus reassured him, smirking.

Harry sighed in relief when the test week was over. He had managed to pass all of his tests flawlessly, except for History of Magic and Divination, which were both subjects that he did not overly like. However, as glad he was that the tests were over, he was sad at the thought that his friends except for Severus would leave over the summer.

On the day of the leaving feast, the Marauders were sitting near the lake, throwing small stones into the water. "By the way, did you begin with Remus' Animagus training in the meantime?" Harry suddenly spoke up.

"What?" James asked incredulously.

"Well, don't you think we're going to miss the nights in the forbidden forest?" Harry smirked. "I think he should learn to become an Animagus, probably he would be a wolf anyway, but we could continue the Marauders' tradition of spending the nights of the full moon outside."

"That's it James! That should have been my idea," Sirius shouted, shooting his friends an enthusiastic look.

"Did you suggest that to him?" James asked and Harry nodded. "You didn't even mention it, Moony."

Remus sighed, throwing Harry a hesitant look as he explained, "Franky speaking I'm not really ready yet. I still can't believe that I'm not a werewolf anymore. So I'd like to wait until the next full moon, before I get my hopes up too much," he admitted in a small voice.

"Well, that makes sense. However, don't worry, Moony. Everything will be all right," James said firmly. "By the way, Dumbledore talked to me and told me that we're all allowed to stay here for about a week over each of the full moon nights to keep you company, Remus and Harry. Harry or Severus, do you think you could brew the Animagus potion for Remus?"

"Of course, that's not a problem," Severus replied, smiling.

"Lily, will you be able to come here over the full moon?" Harry asked, turning to his mother.

Lily sighed. "Dumbledore invited me and I'd love to come, but I have to ask my parents. You know, they hate magic, and I hate being at home, because my sister is even worse and behaves as if I was a freak. Well, probably they'll just be glad if I'm gone for a week." She shrugged.

'What a pity that we can't tell her about our grandparents, I have to talk to my great granny about it. Maybe we could tell her now,' Harry mused. "Oh Lily, I can understand only too well how you must feel. I grew up with my relatives, who always called me a freak because of being a wizard. I'll talk to my great grandparents; maybe they can do something, so that you'll be able to stay here during the month between the two nights of the full moon, but I can't promise anything of course."

As sad Harry was to see his friends take the train home, he was looking forward to translating more of the Potions books, very much inspired by Severus telling him that indeed most of the Potions recipes had been lost sometime over the past centuries.

Dumbledore assigned Harry and Severus a small apartment, which was situated not far from the Great Hall on the first floor. They had a small living room, from which three doors led to single bedrooms, each of them equipped with its own little bathroom.

'Why are there three doors?' Harry wondered, however, knowing that he would not be able to follow Dumbledore's ideas if the old wizard did not admit them to him, he proceeded to other matters.

One day during the first week of the holidays, Severus was very excited when he entered their room.

"Harry, these translations are just brilliant, but what are you going to do with the recipes?" he queried, quirking an eyebrow. "I believe, like I said before, you should publish the books."

"I've thought about that too, and I think we should publish the diary. Perhaps we should place the translation of the book about the Chamber of Secrets in the Chamber and maybe a copy of it in the forbidden section of the library and one in the headmaster's office; that's enough," Harry said thoughtfully. "Considering the Potions books, we have two possibilities. We can either publish all the recipes together in one large volume under both our names, mine for the translation and yours for the validation, or you could present the recipes as your own new re-invention of long lost old potions."

"No Harry, when we publish the book, we're going to do it under your name," Severus objected firmly.

"No, wait a moment. There's a third possibility," Harry contadicted. "We don't publish the recipes as a book, but you brew the potions and sell them as your own potions when you're a Potions Master. We don't have to publish anything under my name. It must be yours. You're going to be the famous Potions Master, who found or re-invented the old recipes, not me. Since I don't have any ambition to work with potions at all, bringing my name in here would be a total waste."

Severus remained pensive for a moment, before he finally said, "Harry, that's very kind and noble of you and I really appreciate it, but please think about it. There are so many recipes that it doesn't matter at all if we publish them under both names or just under one name, so let's not only use yours or mine, let's use both our names in any case. Plus, you've changed the future so much that I'll probably know you from birth onwards; so maybe you can imagine what'll be the first present you receive from me." Seeing Harry look at him in expectation, he elaborated, "a toddler's potions kit of course."

Harry groaned theatrically, but Severus continued, "I'll promise you something. By the time you enter Hogwarts, you'll be able to brew fifth year's potions. Who knows if you'll want to become my assistant or even a Potions Master later on?"

Harry let out a snort, quirking an eyebrow, before he admitted, "Highly unlikely, but not impossible of course."

Severus smirked as if to say, 'Wait and see, my friend,' before he all of a sudden turned around, pulling his wand at the same time.
