Harry eyed the box from Hagrid in distrust. 'Oh, what can that be? These holes are quite suspicious,' Harry thought and carefully lifted the lid of the box. "A naked bird?" he asked cautiously.
"Yes Harry", Hagrid beamed, "it's an owl chick, and his name is Cyclops."
"Wow, Hagrid, thanks a lot," Harry said, looking at the tiny bird in awe. "That's exactly what I needed, but he is still a baby, isn't he? How old is he? Can you teach me how to care for him? How long will it take until he'll be able to carry letters for me?"
"Of course I help you Harry, come down to my hut after lunch, and you'll get a lesson on baby owls," Hagrid offered gently.
Harry quickly changed into Icicle and tried to talk to the little owl.
#Hello little one, can you understand me?# he trilled in a soft voice.
#Ye, large feadered one, who awe you?#
#I'm Harry, your human familiar, but I can change into this phoenix form, in which I'm called Icicle and can talk to you.#
#Dad's nice.#
#Hagrid will show me how to care for you, and then I'm sure we will get along very well.#
#Awwight, bud now I'm sleepy.#
#Very well, Cyclops, and I have to change back,# Harry replied and transformed back into his human form, noticing that everyone looked at him in awe.
After lunch, Harry picked up Cyclops and took him down to Hagrid's hut for his owl lesson. Hagrid told him a lot about caring for a baby owl but finally suggested Harry should leave Cyclops at Hagrid's place until he was large enough to stay in the Owlery. According to Hagrid, it should only take about six weeks, but it seemed to be the best solution and Harry agreed readily, feeling quite relieved not to have the responsibility for the baby owl. When Harry stepped out of Hagrid's hut, he noticed a new enclosure right of the entrance door to the hut.
"What's this for?" he asked suspiciously.
Hagrid grinned and explained, "That's for my new dragon. She's beautiful, isn't she?"
Harry's face fell and he enquired, "You don't intend to keep this dragon here at Hogwarts, do you?"
"Oh yes, of course, she'll be fine here Harry," Hagrid said, seemingly excited about the matter.
"Um… Hagrid, does Dumbledore know about this?" Harry asked, carefully.
"No Harry, I haven't yet talked to him, but I know I should tell him. I'll talk to him soon."
By the time Harry returned from Hagrid's hut, his friends were already waiting on the Quidditch pitch. Severus had even brought his broom as well as robes for him to change. Harry ended the first two games in five and ten minutes; however, in the third game, he just couldn't see the Snitch, nor could James, so the game lasted more than two hours, and Harry was glad when he was back in the Great Hall, where he could sit down have something to drink. Although he was more tired than hungry, he could really enjoy dinner, because James and Sirius seemed to have had nothing to do during their holidays than to think about pranks for Harry's birthday dinner. They managed to change the teachers' clothes, their hair colour, the colour of everything they had on their plates and so on. In the end, everyone was laughing instead of eating.

On the following day, the friends were allowed to make a trip to Diagon Alley together in order to buy their school supplies for the next school year. Harry was so happy. Never before had he been allowed to go to Diagon Alley just with his friends, without any adults. 'It's absolutely fantastic,' he thought in delight. 'As much as I love my great grandparents, sometimes it's good just to be together with my friends.'
The six soon to be seventh years went to Madam Malkins' first to get their new robes made before they had to return to Hogwarts on time for lunch, which Professor McGonagall had insisted on. Afterwards, they visited the Apothecary and Flourish & Blotts; however, since Harry had already received his seventh year's books, he spent the time walking up and down Diagon Alley. Suddenly, he saw a small figure sitting at the corner to a side street drinking beer. It looked like a very young house-elf. The sight was so strange that Harry curiously walked nearer to take a better look at the scene. Somehow, the face seemed familiar to him.
"Dobby? Is that you?" Harry asked cautiously, and the little elf jump onto his feet.
"Sir? Who is you? Why dos you knows Dobby?"
Harry glanced around to make sure that no one was watching them, before he whispered, "Dobby, you mustn't tell anyone what I tell you now, all right?"
Dobby nodded eagerly, and Harry continued, "I am Harry, and I came from twenty years in the future. I know you from the future, because I freed you from the Malfoys, and you came to Hogwarts to work there. In the future, you're one of my best friends. What are you doing here, and why are you drinking beer?"
Dobby let out a long sigh. "Dobby knows yous. Yous is Harry Pane. You killed the evils. Dobby is very grateful for that. But, when the Malfoys died, Malfoy manor became a ward of the Ministry of Magic, and we was all freed. But we has not found a new family yet, and Bobby, my little brother, and I is living here in Diagon Alley."
Harry looked at the elf in shock. "Oh no, Dobby, I'm so sorry for that. Would you like to come to Hogwarts with me? Since my great grandfather, Professor Dumbledore, hired you in the future, he will probably do the same now. Where's your brother?"
Dobby turned his head, pointing a finger at the other side of the street. "Bobby is still small; Bobby is only two years old, so Dobby can't go anywhere without him; Dobby has to take care of Bobby."
Harry smiled and said, "I'm sure this won't be a problem. I have to meet my friends now, but you can come with me, and when we take the Floo back, you can just pop yourselves in front of the entrance doors of Hogwarts, and I'll pick you up and take you to the headmaster's office. All right, Dobby?"
Dobby nodded eagerly and called his brother, before the two elves hurried behind Harry. Harry introduced the elves to his friends and informed them of his plan.
"I'm not sure if Dumbledore is willing to take more house-elves, considering how many they already have at Hogwarts, but I don't think that two more will matter," James said, calmingly, when everyone gave the small elves pitying looks.
Thirty minutes later, Harry accompanied Dobby and Bobby to Dumbledore's office and introduced them to his great grandfather. The headmaster smiled at the elves and said to Harry, "If I can take them in sixteen years into the future, I can as well hire them now, can't I, Harry, especially as it's your fault that they need a new home now."
Turning to Dobby he explained, "Dobby, Harry will be born yesterday in three years' time. I don't know yet if he will grow up at Hogwarts, but at least he will return here to attend Hogwarts at the age of eleven. Anyway, I'd like you to keep an eye on Harry and to take good care of him, whenever his parents or Professor McGonagall and I are unavailable. Would you be willing to do so?"
Dobby nodded eagerly, "Yes, of course, Professor Dumbledore sir. Dobby will always watch over Harry Pane, sir."
"Thank you Dobby. Twinkle!"
With a pop Twinkle appeared. "Twinkle, these are Dobby and Bobby; please take care of them; they will belong to the Hogwarts elves from now on," Dumbledore informed his elf.
Harry promised Dobby and Bobby to visit them in the kitchen and left the office to head down to the Great Hall for dinner, where his friends were already waiting to hear what was going to happen with the two little elves.

Harry could not wait for the next full moon. 'It's always so much fun,' he thought, happily. In absolute excitement, he flashed into the forest, where the others were already running around, happily. When he sat on a branch, glancing around, he could not believe his eyes: Remus had already managed the Transformation – a cute light brown bear was running around the lake.
#Remus, you did it; how awesome. Congratulations,# he trilled, not caring that the bear was unable to comprehend his trills. 'At least he understands that I'm happy for him,' he thought, cheerfully flapping his wings as he saw the bear wave his paws to him in excitement.
Suddenly Lily flew over to the branch, on which Icicle was sitting. #Shall we go for a little flight?# she asked in her soft voice.
Icicle happily agreed and began to fly in the direction of Hogsmeade, making sure Lily was following, before he waited for her to catch up. They flew around for almost two hours, before they returned to Hogwarts, where their friends were still playing at the edge of the forest. All of a sudden, Harry heard a howl, which somehow sounded as if an animal was in trouble. He looked questioningly at Lily, who only shrugged and, glancing around in confusion.
An instant later, James came running over to them and said urgently, "Sirius has hurt one of his legs. What are we going to do?"
Harry immediately changed back into his human form and followed James into the forest. "Sirius, can you change back into your human form?" he asked, looking at the black dog in concern.
Sirius groaned but changed back, and they could see a large cut on his left arm. Without even thinking what he was doing, Harry instinctively took Sirius' left arm with both hands, closed his eyes and thought about just letting his magic flow in the direction of Sirius' arm to heal it. After a few minutes, he could hear someone say, "It's enough Harry, stop it now, and let go of his arm."
'Stop what?' Harry thought in confusion and blinked, only now realising that he was still holding Sirius' arm, which in the meanwhile had healed completely. He immediately released the arm, letting himself fall back into the grass.
"Harry, are you alright?" he heard Lily ask in apparent concern and slightly nodded his head.
"Harry, how did you do that?" This was Severus' voice.
Harry shrugged. 'No idea how I did that, it just happened,' he thought, letting out a tired yawn. "Sorry, going to flash back…night," he managed to mumble, before he transformed and flashed back right onto his own bed.

When Severus woke up Harry in the morning, Harry was so tired that it took him much longer to get ready for the day, causing the boys to be late for breakfast.
In the meantime, James and Lily told the professors about their trip out onto the grounds during the night. "Remus still couldn't believe that he's not a werewolf anymore, so we had to take him out into the forest. As you know, that's also the reason why Professor Dumbledore allows all of us to stay at Hogwarts over the full moon," James began to explain.
"All of a sudden, Sirius hurt his arm, and Harry somehow healed it with his own magic. We couldn't do anything about it. Before I even understood what Harry was doing, the arm was already healed," Lily continued in apparent confusion.
Poppy stared at Harry, who just joined them at the breakfast table together with Severus in disbelief. 'Is that possible?' she wondered, before she said aloud, "That would mean that Harry must be a natural healer. I can't really believe it, because natural healers are very rare. Harry, are you feeling well?" she then enquired in apparent concern."
"I'm fine," Harry replied, stubbornly, thinking that being tired after a whole night in the forest was not even worth mentioning.
"You've depleted your magic to a great extent though," Pomfrey informed him. "Please be careful and don't use any magic during the next two weeks."
Turning to the headmaster, she enquired, "Albus, do you know anything about natural healers?"
"No Poppy, I'm sorry," Dumbledore replied, shaking his head.
