There are some things in Marinette's life that held true, no matter the situation. Her parents would always love and support her. She loved to design clothing. And most importantly for her current predicament, she was clumsy. Very clumsy. Clumsy enough in fact to trip over her thin air and knock a running Chat Noir onto his back.
"Well hold on purr-incess. You may be a fan of me-ow, but there's no need to rugby tackle me," Chat said with a smirk and Marinette rolled her eyes. "Don't be like that Purr-incess. You know you love me really."
Marinette gave him a deadpan look and rolled her eyes once more. Chat grinned.
A lion of some kind walked around the corner. A three metre tall lion. With a goats head on it's back. And a snake for a tail. Okay, not a lion. A Chimera, like the one of Greek legend. Marinette gasped.
"Alas Princess, there is a very dangerous akuma heading this way and I must get you to safety," Chat said as he scooped her up into his arms. The akuma roared once more Chat began running with Marinette in his arms.
"Chat, I can run on my own you know!" she protested and Chat leapt unto the top of a lampost and then the roof of a nearby building.
"Ah, but you would hardly be able to come up here on your own," Chat replied as he put her down. "Besides, a knight in leather armour must protect the fair Princess."
There was a momentary silence as Chat and Marinette realised what he had just said. And managed to turn as red as Ladybug's suit. It was actually rather cute if Marinette was honest.
The akuma roared once more, suddenly bringing their attention to the present. With a short salute, Chat leapt into battle.
"I think Chat might appreciate a little help," Marinette said with a smile as Tikki flew out of her purse. "Tikki, transform me!"
A familiar wave of magic washed over her body, her clothing replaced with her ever reliable superhero outfit.
With a smile, she leapt into battle.
