Dear Daphne,
You wouldn't recognise Slytherin house at all these days.
Well I think that can be said for most of Hogwarts these days. The school has been badly shaken by the battle and there's still rebuilding work going on in places. But there's something more than that.
The Gryffindors are all cock-a-hoop that yet ANOTHER Gryffindor has saved the wizarding world and acting like they're the greatest thing since the opening of Hogwarts. The Hufflepuffs are all closing ranks and looking nervous and the Ravenclaws are busy digging into their books and studies and trying to pretend that the world isn't there.
But it's Slytherin that's really changed. The older power and politics of blood and wealth are virtually none-existent now. These days we're divided into three camps. Those who supported The Dark Lord, those who worked against him and people like me who tried to stay out of the way. And there's a tension in the air, like we're preparing for a war of the shadows.
I really hope it doesn't come to that. The great house of Salaazar Slytherin deserves better than to tear itself apart.
Well wishes,
Your sister Astoria
