Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters or the plots of Avatar!

A story focusing on Adult Tuk - now these will be completely my own ideas based around Tuk and her life as an adult. I am nervous about this one as I am no James Cameron haha but I would love to hear your reviews, you have all been super supportive with my other Avatar stories and I cannot thank you enough.

The story picture is a rare picture of Neytiri because obviously we don't see Tuk as an adult yet and I think she would grow to look like her mother, so let's just use our imagination and pretend it is adult Tuk! :P xx

Chapter 1: Leaving home.

With Lo'ak and Kiri fully grown with children of their own, Tuk felt rather content. In the sense of being content with the idea of not having to provide children anytime soon. She wasn't ready for that just yet. I mean between her siblings, there were 8 little ones running around. Her mom and dad had more than their hands full with their grandchildren. Even at 20 years old she wasn't interested in finding love or a mate, not yet anyway. She was more than happy experiencing those things in her more senior years. No, Tuk wanted more from life. She wanted to explore her beautiful home planet, see what it had to offer, learn more about Pandora and herself before even thinking about becoming a parent. Her human inheritance from her father wanted to defy the Na'vi traditions and expectations, she didn't want to become a Tshaik or a mother at 18. She didn't want to follow the rituals of the clan and live her life repeating the same tasks day in and day out. She loved that life, she couldn't deny it. She just wanted to live a little more before she was stuck with any of that.

Like anywhere, Pandora had its dangers and her parents, particularly her mother, had warned her many times of these risks. 'Don't go near the shadows of Pandora.' or 'Avoid the places where the Great Mother lacks light.' That's all Tuk would hear and whilst she respected her mothers concerns, it only made her curiosity grow greater. Her father however had a different approach. In his human life he loved adventure, he was a marine after all. He too knew the dangers but he also knew that Tuk had to experience these things for herself and though he was so worried for his youngest, he encouraged his daughter to do these things because he knew this was once in a lifetime and she would experience more great than she would awful.

After her bittersweet goodbyes, Tuk packed her things and climbed upon her Ikran, who she had named Pele, and set off towards the neverending skies of Pandora.

The first 3 months were terrifying, it was scary not having her parents there to fend for herself. To protect her. These were all the things she had been trained to do but when you were truly on your own it did seem scary. Despite all these fears that came with it, she was full of adrenaline. She survived it all and she knew that this was the best decision she had ever made. She had seen some sights, she had seen desert plains, she had met clans from across the plains of Pandora. Met clans from other jungles, clans from the mountains and so much more. She had seen sunsets and sunrises like never before, new stars being born and old ones dying. She had seen some of the greatest sacred sites of Eywa and had prayed at every one, thanking the great mother for this life she had been blessed with. She had collected beads, flora and stones from each destination she visited and attached them to her necklace and jewels around her wrists, though her memory would serve her well she really wanted something to look back on, something to show her future kids, lead by example.

Her current location was within the snowy mountains. In a snow hut and she was wrapped up because it was incredibly cold. A cold she had never felt before, but she even loved that. A new feeling, a new experience. She was alone in the mountains as the clan's were in hibernation, the only clan on Pandora to do such a thing. Tuk didn't mind the idea of sleeping for 2 months, though she would hate to miss out on 2 months of her life passing by. Still, they must have been used to it.

Tuk and Pele sat in front of the fire at the top of the mountain as they watched the night sky pass them by, overlooking Pandora's plains. Sharing meat from a small mammal that she had hunted just a few hours before. "This is life huh?" She asked Pele with a smile, not that Pele could answer but instead nudged her head. "We'll have to begin our travels again in the morning." She said softly with a smile, rubbing her nose before handing her a piece of meat. "So, get a good sleep tonight." Tuk told her Ikran again.

Tuk lay that night, overlooking the lit up plains and letting out a rather content and happy sigh. If only she could share this with her family the way she was experiencing it. She knew she was looking forward to telling them all about it. Not that she was heading home anytime soon.

The next morning, Tuk fed Pele and packed up her things ready to move onto the next. She didn't have a map or any sense of direction but she knew she was okay because Eywa was guiding her. "We'll stop off in those jungles and hunt for dinner tonight." Tuk told Pele, pointing to the jungles in the distance. "After we have eaten we will continue to the lagoons." She said with a smile. Pele growled slightly but in a positive response before allowing Tuk to climb onto her. Diving off the mountain Tuk smiled big letting the wind fly through her hair. Spreading her arms out wide and just enjoying this entire experience. She couldn't get enough and like her father, she was a true thrill seeker.

After setting up a temporary camp in the jungle, Tuk observed her surroundings. Looked out for any nests that could be habitats for dangerous animals. Any holes in the ground, any animal tracks, she had to make sure she was safe and well she was never 100% safe but she knew her surroundings. Her father had taught her the way of the sky people and her mother taught her the way of the Na'vi, she was more than equipped. "Alright, I'm not familiar with these jungles so if there is any danger you fly away, as fast as you can. Do you hear me?!" she told Pele. "I'm going to get dinner." She said softly, nuzzling her nose before grabbing her bow and walking off.

Tuk felt like she had been walking for ages, there was no sign of any mammal, berries and flora yes but they needed meat. Pele needed meat. Her ears twitched as she heard something in the distance, lowering like her mother does, a true hunter. Seeing the perfectly sized mammal, enough to feed both herself and Pele and then some more for the following day. She always felt bad about hunting, but she knew it was always within Eywa's plan, the Na'vi had to feed somehow and she always ensured they had an honorable death. Crouching down a little more and keeping really quiet, she held her bow and arrow in her hands ready to shoot. Controlling her breath and ever taking her eye off her target. With one quick flick of her fingers, the arrow had hit the animal and it had fallen to the floor. She quickly ran over before any larger animal came to fetch it. Saying Eywa's prayer to show her respect, gratitude for the animal and its sacrifice so that she may eat. "Oel ngati kameie, ma tsmukan, ulte ngaru seiyi irayo." She said softly, before inserting her knife into it to finish it off so it was no longer suffering. As she went to pick it up she was tackled away from the animal, she didn't have enough time to look at what it was. As she rolled across the ground from the push, she finally found herself on her knees. Crouched in defense mode much like her mother, her knife in her hand ready to attack and the other keeping her balance on the ground, she hissed at the creature, prepared to take it on if she needed to. Especially when it tried to steal her kill.
