Hello, everyone! So this is the last chapter of this fic! I can't believe we finally made it after 2 years! It's been a long, crazy ride and I want to thank you guys for coming with me! Mayor Abrams is giving his speech in the Town Square. "For 150 years, Lima has been the kind of town that everybody wants to call home: safe, prosperous, welcoming. And we have the Founders to thank for that. That's why I'd like to dedicate this evening's firework display to their legacy."

Everyone applauds, the tomb vampires on in the crowd, looking at the Mayor. He looks at one of the deputies.

Cooter is waiting for the signal in Burt's office. One of the deputies is with him. "Get in position."

The deputy goes out. Cooter goes toward the device and looks at it.

"Enjoy the show!" says Mayor Abrams.

The firework starts. Mayor Abrams and Nancy start to leave.

"Stay close," says Mayor Abrams.

Tomb vampires are following them. Mercedes runs into the leader.

"Excuse me, I'm sorry," says the vampire leader.

"I'm sorry," replies Mercedes.

He leaves. She looks at him. She gets a vision of what he is and follows him.

Cooter is preparing the device.

Puck arrives at the office. "Do you have any idea what you've done?"

"Yeah, as a matter of fact I do."

Puck goes toward him, Cooter activates the device. Puck falls, he grabs the sides of his head and screams.

In the town square, Blaine falls to his knees.

"Blaine, what's going on? What's happening?" asks Kurt.

"My head!" yells Blaine.

"What?"

"My head!"

Puck is on the floor, holding his head and screaming. Cooter prepares a syringe with vervain.

Anna and Finn are in the restrooms at Breadstix. Anna grabs her head and begins to scream.

"Anna what's wrong? Anna!"

"Please, make it stop!"

Cooter injects vervain to Puck.

Artie is driving his car when he suddenly hears the device.

"What the hell is that?" asks Artie.

"What's the matter?" asks Quinn.

"That noise!"

"Wait, what noise?" asks Sam from the backseat.

Artie lets go of the wheel, grabs his head and begins to scream.

"Artie!" yells Quinn.

"Artie!" yells Sam.

Artie loses control of the car.

"Quinn, the wheel!

She tries to grab the wheel, Artie screams. The car crashes into a wall.

Blaine is on the ground, holding his head. Kurt's with him. A deputy runs toward him but Will runs interference and hurriedly talks to him.

"Hey, I got this one. There's one over there. Take this, go! Go! Go!" yells Will.

The deputy leaves. Will goes toward them and helps Blaine to get up. They go behind a building.

"I don't know what happened, he just dropped," says Kurt.

"Yeah, he's not the only one. The cops have gotten everyone who's gone down, injecting them with vervain."

"What?" They look at Blaine. "They're rounding up the vampires."

Nancy Abrams is with the Mayor. He's on the ground.

"Please help him, he just went down," pleads Nancy.

The deputies inject him with vervain. Mayor Abrams is unconscious and there is blood coming out of his ears.

Anna and Finn are still in the restrooms.

"Ahhhhhhhh my head." She screams.

One of the deputy enters. The deputy talks into his radio. "I got one."

They inject her with vervain, the other holds Finn. "Hey, what are you doing? What are you doing? Hey, leave her alone!" The deputy takes her, the other stays with Finn. "Leave her alone! Anna!"

The device is stops. Cooter disassembles the device and goes in the basement. Puck is on the floor, unconscious. Deputies are bringing more vampires.

"The device is done; the only thing keeping them down is vervain. We don't have much time, let's finish this," he instructs the deputies.

Puck begins to wake up; one of the deputies is pouring gasoline everywhere. Cooter begins to leave but Anna catches his leg. She's on the floor.

He looks at her. "Anna."

Puck turns his head and looks at them.

Cooter turn to the deputy. "You can head up; I'll take it from here."

The deputy leaves, Anna tries to get up. Puck is still looking at them. Cooter takes a stake from his back.

"Please…no!"

He stakes her, Puck looks at him. Cooter pours more gasoline. He goes up the stairs and pours a trail of gasoline up them. He goes out of the basement, lights a match and throws it on the gasoline. A fire starts. Some of the vampires begin to burn. Puck looks at them.

Blaine's better, he's talking with Kurt behind a building.

"Are you okay?" asks Kurt.

"It was like needles were piercing my skull and it just stopped."

Will arrives. "I saw at least five vampires go down." He looks at Kurt. "They're taking them to your family's old building."

"It's the Hummel device. It has to be," says Blaine.

"But how did he get it to work? Mercy un-spelled it," says Kurt.

"Maybe she didn't," says Will.

"She did, we saw her do it!" reasons Kurt.

"No, no, no, he's right. Think about it. We asked Mercedes to deactivate a device that could protect people against vampires," explains Blaine.

Kurt starts to piece it together. "So, we could protect you."

"And Puck. Vampires." Blaine looks at Will. "Where is Puck?"

"I don't know. I haven't seen him since this started," replies Will.

"Can you get my brother, take him home?" asks Kurt.

"Of course," replies Will.

"Let's go," says Kurt.

Sheriff Fabray is still handcuffed to the radiator. Nancy Abrams arrives.

"Liz, are you okay?" asks Nancy.

"There's a key in my belt…" starts Sheriff.

"What's going on?!"

"There's a key in my belt, I need you to get it."

Nancy gets the key and starts unlocking it. "I've been looking everywhere for you, something happened to Richard. They took him."

"Who took him?"

"Your deputies. I don't understand, he's not a vampire!"

Sheriff Fabray opens the handcuffs and gets up. "Let's go!"

The basement is on fire. Puck looks around him and sees the Mayor.

"Mayor. Is that you?" asks Puck.

"What are you doing here?" asks the Mayor.

"I'm a vampire. What's your excuse?" The Mayor rolls his eyes. "No, really. The vervain didn't affect you, you're not a vampire, what the hell are you?"

The Mayor scoots backwards to get away from Puck. He bumps into the tomb vampires' leader, who is waking.

"Mayor Abrams!" The vampire leader reaches an arm around Mayor Abrams from behind and grabs his chin, pulls violently and snaps his neck. Puck seeing this slowly smiles.

Sam and Quinn are out of the car; an ambulance arrived, Artie is on the ground, unconscious.

"Hey, are you okay?" asks Sam to Quinn.

"I'm fine, I'm fine," says Quinn still trying to catch her breath.

"No, they need to check you out."

"No, I'm fine, I'm fine. They're helping Artie."

The paramedics are examining Artie. One of them opens one of Artie's eyes, it flashes amber-gold before going back to brown.

"What the hell?!" says one of the paramedics.

"What's wrong?" asks Sam.

"His eyes!" replies the paramedic.

They look at him when suddenly, Artie wakes up.

"What happened?" asks Artie.

"Dude, don't scare me like that!" Sam yells at him. He turns his head, Quinn is on the ground, unconscious. "Quinn! Guys, over here! Quinn, wake up!"

Kurt and Blaine are walking when suddenly Blaine hears the fire.

"Wait, wait, wait, I can hear them. The building is on fire," says Blaine.

"What?" asks Kurt worriedly.

"The building's on fire!"

Kurt and Blaine go toward Cooter, talking to him.

"Where is Puck?" asks Kurt.

"With the rest of them, where he should be. It's over for Puck," replies Cooter coldly.

"You're crazy!" yells Kurt.

"Why? Because I'm doing what should have been done a 145 years ago? This is the right thing, Kurt," reasons Cooter. Blaine is looking at the building. Cooter looks at him. "Go ahead, you won't make it out. It'll save me the trouble of killing you myself."

Blaine looks at Kurt. "You know the building well, is there another way in?"

"Utility door, there's one around the side," answers Kurt.

Blaine goes toward the building. Kurt follows him, but Cooter grabs his arm.

"You take one more step and I'll alert those deputies that they missed a vampire," threatens Cooter.

"I'm asking you not to," says Kurt.

"That doesn't mean anything to me."

"As my father, it should."

They look at each other.

"You know."

"I wasn't sure, now I am." Kurt gives him an icy look then goes toward the building.

Blaine runs towards the emergency door, but Mercedes arrives to stop him.

"Hey, you can't go in there!" yells Mercedes. Blaine opens the door. "The fire will take you out."

"He's my brother, Mercy!" Blaine goes into the building, he tries to open the basement door, but the doorknob is too hot.

Mercedes is looking at the building when Kurt arrives.

"Blaine!" Kurt tries to run into the building.

"Kurt, you can't go in there!" She grabs Kurt's arm.

"Mercy, what are you doing?"

She holds onto Kurt tight. "I'm sorry I lied to you." She closes her eyes and begins to recite a spell. "Ex spiritum intacullum, in terrum incendium, fes matos salvis adisdum!"

"Mercy, I've got to get in there!"

Mercedes is still reciting the spell. In the building, Blaine can finally open the door, but the fire is too large. Suddenly, the flames diminish, thanks to Mercedes' spell. Blaine goes into the basement and finds Puck.

"Puck! Come on, hurry!" Blaine picks him up and vamp-runs out of the basement. Outside, Mercedes finishes her spell and looks at Kurt.

"Mercy…Mercy, what is it? Are they gonna be okay?" Blaine and Puck come out of the building. Kurt runs toward them. "Oh, my god!"

Kurt hugs both boys and then hugs Mercedes. Blaine also goes over to hug Mercedes. She's hesitant at first, but she accepts it.

Kurt is sitting at table at the Lima Bean alone, Blaine joins him.

"The fire is out. The story is the building's old wiring is what caused it," Kurt informs him.

"Did you see where Puck went?"

"No, he just kind of disappeared."

"Figures."

Kurt embraces him. "I'm so glad you're okay."

"I try so hard…to hate him. I guess it's just pointless."

"You care about him, so do I. But I love you Blaine, and I know that you are worried about that."

"I just…you know, I know my brother."

"But I love you, Blaine."

"I know the trouble he can cause."

Kurt takes Blaine's face in his hands. "I love you Blaine, you!" They look at each other and Kurt kisses him. "You have nothing to worry about, okay?" Blaine nods. "Emma called, Finn's home. I'm just gonna run over to the school to pick up my suit, my clothes and the rest of my stuff and then I'll check on him."

Finn is on his bed; he looks at the vile, gets up and puts it in his drawer. He turns his head and sees someone at the door.

"What are you doing here?" asks Finn.

"Anna's dead," Puck informs him.

"I figured that once they took her away."

"I know you cared about her."

"Yeah, I did."

"I saw her killed. I was watching and all I could think about was…I wanted to help her, but I couldn't."

"Why are you telling me all this?"

"I took away your suffering once before. I can do it again, but it's your choice."

"Look, I know you think you took it away, but it's still there. Even if I can't remember why. I still feel empty, and alone, and making me forget won't fix it. It won't fix what's wrong."

"What I did to Rachel was wrong. I'm sorry for my part."

"Anna said that vampires don't have to feel pain; that they could turn it off, if they shut out their humanity."

"It's very true."

"Is it easier that way?"

"Is what easier?"

"Life."

"Life sucks either way, Finn. But, at least if you're a vampire, you don't have to feel bad about it if you don't want to."

"Is that what you did?"

"I did it for a…I did it for a very long time and life was a lot easier." He looks at Finn and leaves.

Sam is sitting alone in the hallway at the hospital. Artie joins him.

"Hey man. I'm so sorry. Look, I don't even know what happened," apologizes Artie.

"It's okay man. She'll be alright," replies Sam.

Sheriff Fabray arrives.

Sam gets up. "What's happening? Is she alright?"

"There was some internal bleeding; they're taking her into surgery," answers the Sheriff.

Sam swallows thickly. "What else did they say? Is she gonna be okay?"

"They're gonna do everything they can." Sam looks at her and sits down. "Artie, have you talked to your mom?"

"I left her a message telling her I was here," replies Artie.

"You need to call her."

"What is it?"

"…It's your dad."

Finn is in the bathroom, looking in the mirror. He has the vile of Anna's blood in his hand. He opens it and drinks the blood. He finds Kurt's pain pills from the car accident and pours them on the counter. He picks one up, preparing to take it.

Blaine begins to leave the Lima Bean. Mercedes arrives.

"Oh, hey," greets Blaine.

"Hey," Mercedes greets back.

"You…you just missed Kurt."

"I was looking for you."

"Oh."

Kurt is my best friend, and because he loves you, I couldn't let you or Puck die in that fire."

"I'm very grateful 'Cedes, I hope you know that."

"I do, but I hope you know that things have to change. Puck has to change."

"We both want the same thing."

"We both want to protect the people we care about. The difference is, for you, Puck is one of them. You saw what I could do tonight. I know who I am now, and if Puck spills so much as one drop of innocent blood, I'll take him down. Even if I have to take you with him."

Blaine sighs, knowing she's right. "Let's hope it doesn't come to that."

"Let's hope it doesn't."

Puck walks out of Kurt's house. Kurt arrives, he's holding his suit.

"What are you doing here?" asks Kurt.

"Failed and feeble attempt at doing the right thing," explains Puck.

"Which was…?"

"It's not important. Let me take this for you." Puck takes the suit and his bag, and sets it down.

Kurt is surprised. "Thank you."

"You know, I came to this town wanting to destroy it. Tonight, I found myself wanting to protect it. How does that happen? I'm not a hero, Kurt. I don't do good. It's not in me."

"Maybe it is."

"Nah, it's reserved for my brother, and you…" He smiles. "And Hot Mama…who, even though she has every reason to hate me, still helped Blaine save me."

"Why do you sound so surprised?"

"Because she did it for you. Which means that somewhere along the way, you decided that I was worth saving. And I wanted to thank you for that."

"You're welcome."

Puck kisses him on the cheek; they look at each other. Puck hesitates and then he kisses him. Kurt pulls away slightly and then Puck grabs Kurt and they kiss passionately for a few seconds until Emma opens the door and interrupts them. They stop and Puck tries to hide himself.

"Oh!" says Emma, surprised at what she's seeing.

"Hi…" greets Kurt.

"Um, it's late. You should probably come inside." Kurt looks at Puck, grabs his suit and goes into the house. Emma closes the door. "What do you think you're doing?"

Kurt sighs. "I don't want to talk about it."

Outside, Puck looks at the house, touches his lips and leaves.

Finn is in the bathroom, he's taken all the pills. He goes into his bedroom, lays on the bed and passes out.

Cooter is in the kitchen, he opens the fridge and when he closes it, Kurt is there.

"Oh! You scared me," says Cooter.

"Sorry," apologizes Kurt.

"You know…I first met Terri when I was a teenager. I fell in love with her instantly, although I'm pretty sure she never loved me. She always loved that Will Schuester." He shakes his head. "She was special. A part of why I hate the vampires so much is because of what she became, how it ruined her. And I never would have sent her to Puck had I known she wanted to turn." Kurt looks at him while he puts away dishes. "It's my fault. I'm telling you this because I hoped maybe you'd understand."

"Thank you."

"Can I help?"

Kurt looks at his ring. "Sure." He cuts his fingers off the hand with the Hummel ring with the knife he was putting away, and pushes him against the sink. Cooter screams in pain.

"Kristian?!"

His eyes change and become vampiric. "Hello, Cooter. Goodbye, Cooter." Kristian stabs him.

Outside, Kurt is walking towards the front door. He's on the phone with Blaine "I looked everywhere. Yeah, someone took my stuff." Kurt sighs. "I'm just gonna check on Finn before I go to the hospital. Can you meet me there? Okay. I love you, Blaine." Kurt enters the house and goes to the bottom of the staircase. He shouts up the stairs. "Finn?! Are you up?" He hears a noise coming from the kitchen and starts walking towards it.
