Previously on Because Why Not?…

With the ball looming closer, Mr. Schnee is deep in thought about a mystery very few on Remnant have ever pondered. When General Ironwood warns him of an attack, he finds that he simply doesn't have an answer to the problem, and has no choice but to let events play out.

As the ball commences, Weiss rejects her fiance in favour of Ruby, only to find out later that her marriage was a last-ditch effort to create some form of accord between the White Fang and the SDC. With that plan ruined, the ball is attacked by outstandingly organized White Fang, and somehow they've gained control of the same creatures of grimm that had killed Ruby's mother.

After killing one creature with the help of Jaune's grandfather, the huntresses are shocked at how powerful the grimm was, only to find out there's a small group of them trying to break down the only barricades standing between the grimm and the leaders of the world.

"Where are we now?" Ruby asked as they turned down yet another hall lined with countless doors.

"Still in the staff quarters." Weiss replied as she stopped at a new hall and looked down it. "I think there should be one more turn and then we'll be back in the foyer. So we need to pick a room for you to counter the snipers from."

"The greater the angle, the better." Ruby supplied, following Weiss as she used a glyph to force a door open. "The roof probably won't be an option though, will it?"

"Not this time. Those things can crawl up walls, and we're not sure if there are more out there." Weiss replied in the affirmative while looking at the window. "I'll provide cover, so wait for the signal."

Ruby caught Weiss's hand as she made to leave, pulling her into a quick kiss.

"For luck." Ruby explained as Weiss silently nodded and left.

Ruby waited patiently, silently counting seconds as she focused her rifle's scope out the window where she could make out the end of the distant red beams of light. She scoped in on the farthest one first, taking a slow breath as she braced her finger on her trigger.

A blast of light and glass in Ruby's peripheral vision alerted the line of snipers, and they burst into sudden movement, trying to get a target on Ruby's partner. Ruby depressed the trigger, bracing against the blast as her round ripped through her target's neck, almost decapitating him as Ruby moved onto her next target.

Ruby felt only a slight hesitation as she rammed the bolt back into it's lock with a new round in place that she'd just used a round she normally only ever used for environment destruction on another human. The small explosions of return fire that echoed in response to Weiss's movement across the field were more than enough to convince her to pull the trigger again.

This time, Ruby hit her target in the forehead. And she was pulling the bolt back and selecting her next target by the time the person hit the ground.

Weiss reached the line under the cover of her glyphs, sending a small group of three snipers flying with a well placed explosion. She ran through two of the three in mid air before she landed atop the third just as he landed back on the ground, breaking his spine with her heel at the same time. She turned to watch a fourth man flip sideways as his left side disintegrated in a spray as Ruby's explosive round bit into him.

Weiss rushed forward, counting only four more snipers. The most prepared of them readied his rifle as his head disappeared, giving Weiss a second longer to close the gap. More than enough time to run her blade through one sniper and draw the combat knife from his belt as she swung his body around her and off her blade. She threw the knife into the closer man's leg, causing him to drop his weapon and stumble into the way of his partner who was trying to aim around him.

Weiss rushed forward, kicking the injured man into the other one, forcing him to move his weapon into a less threatening position. Weiss took the advantage and ran her blade through his heart before using a glyph to throw his body off her blade.

Ruby fired the last shot, killing the injured man who had just drawn his sidearm. Weiss looked at the dark window that was missing a single pane and waved before heading back to the window she'd broken out of.

Ruby's hand met her at the wall and helped her step gracefully down from her glyph while offering a silent nod of understanding. There would be a lot to deal with later, but at the moment, they were as safe as they usually were.

That thought struck Weiss as a fair bit ironic seeing as there were still at least four more of those chameleon creatures in the main foyer.

"Got any ideas, Ruby?" Weiss asked as they quietly approached the door.

The creatures were still trying to break the barricade into the security area, but even Ruby could tell that the heavy metal doors would only hold a short time longer. Any major hit would be sure to break them open.

"I sent my scroll's combat footage to JNPR and CFVY." Ruby replied as she once again checked her clip. "Other than that, we're outnumbered and overpowered. And we can't see them. If we could mark them with something-"

"That's it!" Weiss pulled Ruby aside and slammed the door shut just in case her exclamation had gained the attention of the creatures. She pulled her partner down two doors and into a room Ruby'd never entered before.

Ruby watched Weiss rummage in a large crate next to a small forge and workbench as she wondered what she was thinking.

"Catch!" Weiss called as she started throwing cans over her shoulder to Ruby. Ruby took a quick glance as she gathered as many as would fit in her arms and laughed. It would work perfectly. Or as perfect as any makeshift solution would ever work.

"Fantastic idea, Weiss." Ruby said as she pulled her suit's jacket off and used it as a makeshift basket for the pressurized cans. "I love you so much."

"Dolt, save it for after we save everyone." Weiss couldn't help but smile as she tossed another can back to Ruby. "But I love you too."

"Sir, what are our orders?" The guard asked as another massive slam echoed on the massive door that was slowly but surely bending inward to the place where about a hundred people were huddled in fear.

"Standby." Mr. Schnee spoke as he simply stood watching the door in front of him. "And if those doors give, protect the kingdom leaders first. Everyone else is expendable."

"Sir?" The guard asked with a worried look out at those close enough to have heard the man speak.

"Those are your orders." Mr. Schnee spoke without hesitation. "But you are free to make your own decisions. Just know that if the kingdom's leaders should die here tonight, the White Fang will not hesitate to take over and kill thousands in the name of their retribution. Do you understand what I'm asking of you?"

"I… yes, sir." The guard nodded with a look of resolution on his face.

"Good, then inform the rest. In the meantime, I'm going to get those creatures off those doors." Mr. Schnee said as he raised his long, thin blade that had until just minutes ago rested in a display case in the office of the guard he'd been speaking with. "I have contacted my daughter and she's bringing reinforcements from the military. They'll be here in just over half an hour."

"Sir-"

"It won't take an hour for those doors to come down." Mr. Schnee spoke sharply. "I was once trained as a hunter before I married my late wife. I daresay I can provide a distraction while you reinforce those doors."

He didn't wait for a response as he turned on his heel and walked back from the doors, heading to the exit that led farther into the house. He felt the feeling he'd had for several months solidify in his arms as he felt his aura welcome his blade back into service. Its parts, gleaming silver from years of nothing but polish twisted and turned as he flexed the grip in his palm. The blade's pieces snapped back together with a slight curve in the blade, allowing him to replace it in its sheath at his waist.

He took the flight of stairs in the service hall two at a time before stepping back out into the hall. The large wooden door at the end now the only thing separating him from the group of monsters whose kin his daughter and Ruby had so proficiently killed.

He drew on the power he felt coursing through his veins for the first time in a decade and summoned forth his guardians. One stood twelve feet tall, it's body shaped like an Ursa, but it's head was that of a boarbatusk. It walked on two legs like he did, but did not make a sound as it had no physical weight. The other was no taller than his waist, it's body a long cord with wings and a beak where it's forward head should have been. It was a disturbing creation, even for other hunters to see. But they were effective, and had saved his life from the White Fang on two separate occasions, and from other grimm countless other times in his long life.

He stopped with his hand on the heavy wooden door as he drew the courage and strength he'd gained from watching his youngest daughter recover with the help of Ruby these past few days. With his lungs full, he pushed both doors wide open, revealing to him the back of the twin staircase that lined both sides of the foyer.

"Filthy animals have no place in my house!" He shouted as he walked to the center of the room, drawing the attention of all the camouflaged creatures to him. He didn't turn, walking till he was perfectly in the center of the room, his guardians staying hidden for the time being. "Come to die!"

He shouted the order as he turned, seeing a flurry of barely visible movement as the creatures all moved on the attack. He closed his eyes, using his aura to see that there were actually seven in total, each moving to attack him simultaneously.

He waited, tensed as the first tail swung near enough and he drew his sword, slicing it clean from the creature it was attached to before dodging a second tail and jumping over a third creature that had tried to tackle him.

He landed and swung his weapon high, slicing the torso of a jumping creature open as it passed, his swing ending as the thick scales near the limb joint of another creature caught his blade. He was disappointed as he sensed another tail swing down at him, but was equally surprised when it stopped dead in mid air.

Without even a glance, he kicked the creature entrapping his blade and freed it with one move, blinding one of it's eyes with a counter.

He ducked as another creature was kicked out of the air by the senior member of the Arc family, armed with a sword and shield that was standard issue in his security force. The man bashed his shield into a creature before hitting it with a glancing blow that did no damage, but forced the creature to retreat a few meters.

Mr. Schnee called his summons into the fray, intercepting a single creature as it wandered too far from it's pack. The malformed creatures slowly but steadily incapacitating the creature one ligament at a time before finally killing it.

Mr. Schnee wasn't prepared for the high pitched screech of a second creature as it spotted it's fallen comrade. He simply watched, while attacking the three creatures that were still keeping him and the elder Arc pinned, as three of the creatures rushed to his summons, ripping them to shreds with their impossibly sharp tails and then ripping at them with their fangs.

Jaune's grandfather broke the leg of one of the creatures and pinned it to the ground with his blade, the creature finally being as incapacitated as he could make it. He turned just in time to see Mr. Schnee rush into the middle of the five remaining creatures and send one flying as it became visible, the man's blade stabbing through it's eye and out the top of it's head. The creature started smoking like the one Mr. Schnee's summoned creatures had brought down, as it landed at the foot of the staircase.

The senior Arc heard the clatter of small objects spilling to the ground and looked to the side to see Weiss and Ruby with their arms full of small cans.

"Move!" Ruby yelled as she used her semblance to throw cans into the air where Weiss caught them on glyphs and sent them flying as Ruby shot them with her weapon, raining every colour of paint imaginable down on the room as the creatures scattered in vain.

The paint exploded like flak, peppering everything with colour, whether living or dead, creating a macabre splatter painting as the camouflaged creatures became visible.

"We've got ten minutes before reinforcements!" Weiss announced as she joined the confusion as the clouds of paint finished raining down on the room. She ignored everything but the moving shapes, guarding the senior hunter as he removed a long blade from a dead creature. The blade shifted from its long, angled form into a broad short sword, more suited to the man who now looked very much like Jaune had in their first year, if Jaune had been balding and spending every day at the gym.

"Then lets make it count!" Ruby shouted, firing an explosive round point blank into the creature the elderly hunter had pinned to the ground, killing it as it's head ripped apart from the destructive round.

Weiss watched Ruby swap clips with the practiced ease of a fully trained huntress as she rushed into the regrouping creatures, her propellant sending her in a murderous spin that would have been able to decimate an entire pack of beowolves.

Weiss supported, firing fire balls of dust at Ruby's back to keep the creatures away and limiting the movement of Ruby's target as best she could with her glyphs. Jaune's grandfather simply defended Weiss from the creatures, keeping their attention with his loud battle cries that explained where Jaune had learnt them. Even as the primary target, he managed to fend off the creature's tails with his shield as if he were a god, simply playing with his own creations.

Ruby incapacitated a creature by slicing it's stomach open so it's innards fell out. The creature didn't die, but it could no longer move, so Ruby moved on to the next one, keeping one eye on the others that were mostly targeting Jaune's grandfather, but occasionally taking an interest in her.

She hated these creatures, finally knowing what they were, but knowing there would be no hope of fighting a ridiculously sized horde of them without the numbers and firepower to do it. Her mother was unlucky enough to have done just that, but Ruby wouldn't be able to bring her back by killing these creatures. She knew that. But Weiss was still alive, fighting with her, and Ruby swore to herself that no matter what, she'd protect the girl with her life if she had to.

Ruby swapped her magazine back, firing her round through a slashing tail that had been coming at her, now falling as it was separated from the painted creature. Ruby kept swinging at the creature, hoping to get at least a leg or two more before it retreated and was replaced with another.

Weiss fired a fire ball at the creature Ruby was duelling, and Ruby caught it on her scythe, coating the blade with fire dust as Ruby swung it deep into the creature's back, sending a portion of the scales to the ground as pieces of ash.

Something hit the chandelier, and the room was plunged into semi-darkness as the few fires from Weiss's fireballs illuminated the room as the large crystal piece fell, exploding outward with a rain of glass that was absorbed by the aura of the girls as they regrouped, Jaune's grandfather joining them in short order as their eyes adjusted to the new light levels.

"Where's your dad?" He asked Weiss as he placed himself in front of the girls while they retreated under one of the staircases to limit the direction the creatures could resume their attack from.

"I see him, there!" Ruby pointed to the wall not to far from them. Ruby turned back to see Weiss's eyes wide with shock and it was a moment later that she was running to the man who, even in the limited light, she could tell was bleeding badly.

"Go!" Jaune's grandfather ordered as he quickly strafed to a better position, allowing Ruby to move to protect Weiss. She stopped, listening to the skittering of the creatures as they remained in the darkness, just outside the range of the firelight. Ruby stopped as she heard her best friend choke on tears as she spoke quietly.

"Father, please." Weiss begged as she simply held his hand. There was absolutely nothing she could do. The wound he'd suffered was greater than any she'd seen on a person before. A person that was still alive, that is.

"Weiss… listen. You have… a job to do." He spoke haltingly through his pain. "You need to… listen."

"What is it father?" Weiss asked in a voice so sad it broke Ruby's heart. She remembered how hard Weiss had been on her father the entire time she'd known her, but now when it counted she was giving him the respect that, perhaps, he'd always hoped she'd give him. Ruby was happy that at least, Weiss was taking the opportunity to say goodbye.

"Whether or not… these people survive… there will be a… war." His voice quickened as his breathing became shorter. Ruby moved slightly closer to the pair as she paid attention to both their conversation an the sound of the creatures settling. Ruby knew enough to know that that meant they were ready to go back on the offensive, and hoped that they'd at least wait for Weiss to finish her conversation. "The… White Fang… they… they… leader… witch…."

Weiss cried out in despair as the creatures sprang on the attack. Ruby defended her crying partner with the help of Jaune's grandfather, but she could tell that he was quickly getting too tired to continue. Even her arms were starting to protest against the non-stop pace of the combat.

Ruby was sure Mr. Schnee had passed and didn't know how to care for Weiss in the middle of combat. It was something she'd never needed to do before, but they needed Weiss if they were going to survive long enough for reinforcements to arrive.

"Weiss! Help!" Ruby called as she dodged a tail that was just barely visible in the dark light of the fires. "We need more light!"

Weiss nodded, wiping the water from her face as her brow set angrily into place. Ruby half expected a three hour long rant to issue from her lips but was instead met with four balls of fire that hit a nearby creature in the exact same spot, breaking through its scales before setting it ablaze like a mobile lantern as it fell to the ground and Ruby's round tore through its head, letting it's slightly smoking body act as a lantern.

Weiss saw something barely visible streak past the new flame and a terrible premonition hit her as she tackled Ruby down as a large tail ripped into her left arm, disabling her for the fight. Ruby stumbled to her feet with her partner just as another attack from the same creature caught her in her right arm, injuring her just as much as Weiss had been before the deadly appendage slashed into her thigh.

Weiss caught Ruby and launched them back to the wall with a glyph as they barely avoided a third attack that might have been fatal.

"I… I can't…" Ruby grimaced through the pain as she inspected her partner's wound.

"Me neither." Weiss replied with a grimace as she pulled a cartridge of burn dust from her belt. "This will hurt."

Ruby nodded as Weiss cauterized her wounds, preventing her from bleeding out for the time being. After she was done, Ruby took a few pained breaths before nodding and holding her good hand out to her partner. Weiss dropped the vial into her hand and Ruby dusted it over Weiss's arm before slumping against the wall to watch the elder Arc take on enemies they couldn't see single handedly.

Ruby was about to call for him to retreat when bright white light flooded the area and a single person landed in the center of the room, sending a shock-wave of electricity out as she flipped her hammer back into a grenade launcher.

Weiss actually started laughing as Ren, Jaune, and Pyrrha all joined Nora on the ground, taking over as the senior Arc retreated to the wall. The four newly arrived hunters surrounded the small group at the wall and Jaune retreated to get an idea of what was happening.

Ruby gave the report and Jaune's grandfather bumped his fist to Jaune's before he rejoined his own team. As they started picking away at the creatures that were still left, a second set of lights shone into the room from the front and the loud, continuous bark of a chain-gun rang out as the creatures all scattered while thousands of rounds rained down on every possible inch of space they could reach.

The creatures launched an offensive against the gunner and a blue scythe slashed the invisible air as the creatures lost scales and tails to the faunus huntress.

Jaune hit one creature with his shield as Pyrrha did the same, tripping it into Nora's hammer which was boosted by a punch from Ren as well as a round of propellant. The creature's scales shattered and it was killed before it even knew what had happened.

From the ceiling, two more hunters dropped in, slicing creatures with a broadsword and a pair of arm-mounted blades respectively. Ruby and Weiss watched as the eight hunters decimated the creatures at a pace almost unbelievable as they'd had so much trouble from only a single one earlier in the evening and even more from the unknown number of creatures that seemed to have doubled after the chandelier had been destroyed.

It was fifteen minutes later that the constant ring of gunfire and slashing blades stopped, and the trio was approached by both Jaune and Coco who both sported a great number of scratches and bruises.

"When you said you needed reinforcements, I didn't expect to be fighting invisible fucking grimm." Coco swore as she took off the pair of sunglasses she'd been wearing. It was missing one lens, and she frowned before tossing them into the rubble of the now mostly destroyed room.

"What were those things, anyway?" Jaune asked, not entirely sure what he'd actually been fighting. "I've never seen or even heard of grimm like that before."

"That's the point, dumb-ass." Coco sighed. "But neither have I. Care to explain?"

Weiss looked to Ruby who shrugged slightly, avoiding moving at the moment as her wounds were still very sore even if her aura had helped lessen that pain slightly.

"They're normally only in a forest near Vale, as far as I know, but there were also White Fang snipers set up out front." Ruby reported. She turned to Weiss who squeezed her good hand slightly and looked up at the pair of leaders that had saved them.

"The target was the leaders of all of Remnant's governments and large businesses. There was information about a secret weapon they'd obtained. I'd guess these were it." Weiss explained. "Also, my father believed that the White Fang would start attempting their takeover of the kingdoms soon, if they haven't already."

"Shit. And here we were, going to clear a den of Ursi." Coco laughed as she turned away. "Velv, call Ozzy and tell him to start guarding Vale. Fox, call the Lion, and-"

"I'll call my friend at Shade." Yatsuhashi nodded as he pulled out his scroll.

"Jaune, there are about a hundred civilians in the room on the second floor there." Weiss pointed at the almost broken metal doors. "Can you make sure they're alright?"

"Sure. We've got it." Jaune nodded as he waved his team over. The group left the main room and Weiss simply stared ahead as she felt her eyes want to close.

"Weiss?" Ruby asked cautiously, knowing what had taken place. The body was still fully visible in the bright light flooding in from the aircraft, after all. "I'm sorry."

"No. It's better this way. Remember?" Weiss asked, turning to look at her girlfriend.

Ruby remained silent, staring into Weiss's eyes, reading them for anything that might be a red flag to indicate Weiss suffering inside. A moment later, she felt satisfied that everything was really okay with Weiss, other than the fact that she was sad. Ruby didn't blame her for that though. She would have been surprised if she didn't see that in her partner's eyes after the events of the night.

A sudden rumble caught their attention as two Atlesian Paladins dropped in, followed by row after row of soldiers, armed to the teeth with rifles, knives, and every type of dust imaginable. Finally, Winter dropped in, her body encased in a sleek white suit with glowing white lines and sharp edges that marked the outline of the body armour it supported. She took in the scene as the soldiers rushed to secure the building, rushing into each wing in squads as even more soldiers came pouring in the front door, led by the General himself.

"The cavalry's arrived." Ruby grimaced as a pair of medical officers were rushed to the trio still sitting in pools of their own blood. Weiss could only grimace as Winter crouched and pulled her head into her chest's rock hard body armour while the medic applied antiseptic and a bandage to her wound.

"And this concludes the service. Please help yourselves to refreshments at the end of the east hall."

Weiss simply continued staring without actually seeing as the people behind and around her all started to exit the room. It wasn't long before silence fell and she let out a deep breath she didn't realize she'd been holding. Slowly, she looked around to find her sister the only one still seated in the room. She could just make out the red of her partner's cape outside the door as she spoke to Blake and Yang who had come to support her. Not that she didn't appreciate it, just… she didn't need them all. Ruby was all she'd needed the past few days, and Ruby would be all she would need in the days to come.

"Is everything alright, Weiss?" Winter asked. Her voice, though affectionate, gave Weiss the impression she was asking for a reason other than to ensure her wellbeing.

"Yes, Winter. What about you?" Weiss asked out of respect. Winter had never been as bad as her father, but she still had to be cautious. After all, Weiss had now inherited her father's position as the very top of Schnee Dust's chain of command.

"Well as can be expected." Winter replied with a sigh. "We haven't had a moment of silence to talk since that day, have we?"

"I don't believe so." Weiss responded. She wouldn't help Winter with this conversation, call it payback for essentially ignoring her for years while she attended Atlas's military academy.

"Well, I can tell you'd like to get back to your girlfriend." Winter guessed, giving Weiss a good reason to once again look toward her team that stood waiting for her, talking quietly in their normal outfits with bands of black wrapped around their upper arms. Weiss returned her attention to Winter who smiled knowingly as if she'd guessed Weiss's thoughts. "As you know, I'm the one handling the closing of his accounts and finalizing what business I can. But as the heiress, you're going to need to approve a number of transactions before I can finalize them. As well, there's the issue of your education that needs to be taken care of."

"What about my education?" Weiss asked, her eyes narrowing as she realized where Winter might be taking the conversation.

"Well, with father gone, the company needs a CEO. As the heiress, you are the only choice unless you approve somebody else." Winter replied with a small smile. "But you know that already."

"I do." Weiss replied as she looked down at her hands. "I'll sign a generic document so you can finish the accounting, but I need some time to think about everything."

"Weiss, don't take this the wrong way, but if you wanted me to handle things for the time being… I'm sure the board wouldn't mind." Winter suggested slowly, as if Weiss could miss any word she was speaking. "Only until you're ready to take the reigns off my hands, that is."

"Winter…" Weiss hesitated as she looked into her sister's eyes. "Why do you want to help me?"

"I… I must have been a terrible sister if you're asking me that question." Winter sighed as she turned back to the front of the chapel. "You know Weiss, I'm sorry I cut you out after I was accepted at Atlas academy. It was the one mistake I don't want to continue with…. Father was angry with me when I left that morning, you know. He told me I should have been loyal to him and you, not General Ironwood. I didn't think anything like that would have happened."

Weiss just nodded as a lump came to her throat. Yes, she'd never truly imagined her father ever dying. He had always been so invincible, one of his few good traits Weiss had to admit. And then he'd left them in an even bigger mess. The schools had succeeded in stopping the White Fang's coupe attempt, but it had cost dozens of lives and the world was now in open warfare between the White Fang and the Kingdoms. The crime rates had skyrocketed with racist assaults and murders on both sides with humans killing faunus they expect to be members of the White Fang while those faunus kill humans out of self defence. It was a mess, but with the governments still intact minus the few that had been killed at the ball, it was still better than the chaos that would have been.

"Winter, why didn't you reply to any of my letters?" Weiss asked, knowing she'd probably regret asking, but she couldn't help it. Winter and her had been closer than best friends before Atlas Academy, and she really wanted to return to that if she could. And with her mother long gone, and her father now gone as well, Winter was the last family she had in the world beside her team. And her team were only good friends. Though Ruby was practically family already.

"I wanted to be cool." Winter laughed bitterly. "My friends never talked about their homes, they just talked about useless things like weapons or what rank they were going for after graduation. I felt that if I talked about you, they'd think I was strange. Because I did want to talk about you to them. I just couldn't balance everything, and decided it would be easier if I just ignored you, because then I wouldn't be tempted to tell them what you were learning or planning to do with your life. I kept every letter you sent me though, and I read them the night I graduated. I… wish I could take back my actions, but I can't. All I can do is apologize."

Weiss looked at her sister for a moment before turning back to the front where a picture of her father rested atop the alter. Weiss leaned over, resting her head on her sister's shoulder and sighing.

"I'm not sure I can forgive you. At least, not right away." Weiss replied to her sister's apology with another sigh. "I want to work on rebuilding what we had though."

"That's all I want." Winter placed her hand atop Weiss's head for a moment before removing it. It was an old way their mother used to show them affection and it brought a sad smile to Weiss's face. "How about we start having lunch together? Maybe once a month at least?"

"That sounds like it could work." Weiss nodded as she straightened herself and checked to make sure her hair was still tidy. "And listen, about the company… can you give me some time to think it over?"

"The company is essentially closed until somebody is officially named the new CEO." Winter replied with a nod. "You could take as long as you'd like, but I'd suggest no longer than three or four days. The stockholders will be jumpy as it is."

"Right…" Weiss nodded again as she stood. "Well, I'm going to go speak with my friends. I'll let you know my decision once its made."

Winter nodded and watched as Weiss left. She felt bad about Weiss's position, having held her father's hand as he died. She was sure Weiss wouldn't return to being a huntress, but at the same time, couldn't see her as CEO of the company. Weiss had never been particularly interested in the company other than in opposition of the somewhat shady business practises that kept the capital rolling in.

Winter shrugged the thoughts off, feeling that Weiss would do what she felt was best. She could only hope that she'd at least consider her proposal before deciding.
