What's happening guys? 087-B here with a new chapter of Gravity Falls: Sinnoh Adventure! In the last chapter, Dipper battled Gradenia and his Starly evolved, but he lost horribly. Meanwhile, Mabel and Soos took on the Eterna City Team Galactic building and defeated Commander Jupiter, who was running the place. Soos' Piplup and Shinx evolved, even! Now, I think having the group change would suffice here. Don't know what that means? Read on!
You don't know how tired I am of typing 'Eterna City', since the group has been in that town for 5 or 6 chapters… PLEASE come faster, Hearthome City!
Oh, and I am fully aware that Skuntank's Pokedex entry was left unfinished last chapter, I will include the completed entry right below this part of the beginning author's note.
Skuntank, the Skunk Pokemon
Poison/Dark Type
Ability: Stench
It attacks by spraying a horribly smelly fluid from the tip of its tail. Attacks from above confound it.
Now, on with the show!
Chapter 18: The Secret Of The Old Chateau
It was high noon the next day as both Dipper and Soos had met near the statue of Dialga and Palkia in the center of Eterna City, in the middle of a battle. They stood on opposite sides of each other, with Dipper using his Combee and Soos using his Munchlax, and Mabel was watching from the sidelines, sitting against the statue.
"Munchlax, use Body Slam!" Soos commanded. Munchlax dashed towards Combee, ready to ram into it.
"Combee, dodge it and use Bug Bite!" Dipper commanded. Combee darted out of the way of Munchlax's attack and bit into it on rapid succession, knocking it out.
"Nice job, Munchlax." Soos recalled his Munchlax into its Pokeball, then put it away.
"Awesome work Combee!" Dipper said, recalling his Combee into its Pokeball, then putting it away. He turned to Soos. "Thanks for the training battle, Soos."
"No problem, dude." Soos replied. "Anything to help you train for the gym."
"I feel pretty confident now!" Dipper said proudly. "Where's Wendy and Robbie? I want them to watch my rematch!"
"They told me they went to train in the Eterna Forest." Mabel said.
"Then let's go get them!" Dipper began to sprint toward the Eterna Forest with Mabel and Soos following close behind. As soon as they entered the Eterna Forest, they saw Wendy and Robbie being attacked by a flock of black crow-like Pokemon with witch hat-like hair on their heads and broom like tails. Dipper pulled out his Pokedex to identify the Pokemon.
Murkrow, the Crow Pokemon
Dark/Flying Type
Ability: Insomnia
If spotted, it will lure an unwary person into chasing it, then lose the pursuer on mountain trails.
'That Pokedex description probably explains this…' Dipper thought.
They all ran over and began shooing away the crow Pokemon. As they flew away, however, Soos took out a Pokeball and tossed it, hitting one Murkrow and absorbing it inside. It fell to the ground and shook for a moment before clicking, indicating it was caught. Soos smiled and picked up the Pokeball containing his new teammate and put it away.
"Whew, thanks guys." Wendy said.
"How did that happen?" Dipper asked.
"Well, I was talking with Robbie about the Safari Zone, and he decided to try it out for himself." Wendy explained, glaring at Robbie. "He chucked rocks at the Murkrow and got them mad." She elbowed Robbie in the gut angrily, making him grunt in pain.
"Why were you guys in the Eterna Forest anyway?" Mabel asked. "Were you training?"
"Nope, we were gonna check out the Old Chateau." Robbie answered. "They say it's haunted."
"Oh really know?" Dipper asked sarcastically.
"So what are you guys doing here?" Wendy asked.
"I came to ask if you guys wanted to watch my rematch against Gardenia." Dipper said. "Wanna come?"
"Sure, we'll check it out." Wendy replied. Dipper turned to Mabel and Soos.
"What about you guys? Wanna come watch?" He asked.
"Sorry Dipper, Soos and I are gonna check out the Bike Shop." Mabel answered. "Then we were planning on…" She stopped herself. Dipper raised an eyebrow.
"Planning on what?" He asked. Mabel hesitated before answering.
"…me and Soos were planning on getting bicycles. Then we were planning on going down Cycling Road, and then…" She hesitated a little more. "…and then we were planning on going to Hearthome City."
"You WHAT?!" Dipper's eyes widened as he stepped back in shock. "You were gonna leave me behind?!"
"…pretty much." Mabel responded.
"Why would you do that?!" Dipper was freaking out. "Why would you just go ahead without me?!"
"We weren't gonna go that far ahead dude!" Soos said, trying to calm him down. "We would've waited for you in the next town."
"We're only doing this because we've been in Eterna City for too long, Dipper." Mabel said. "Don't worry, we'll meet up again in Hearthome City, okay?" Dipper thought for a moment.
"…okay." He replied. "I'll get my badge, finish up here, then move on." Mabel and Soos smiled.
"Alright, good luck!" Mabel said, and she and Soos left the forest. Dipper turned to Wendy and Robbie.
"So, gym battle?" Dipper asked the duo. Wendy nodded, but Robbie shook his head. Wendy elbowed him in the gut again.
:::::
"Awesome!" Mabel stepped out of the Bike Shop with a sparkling magenta-colored bike. Soos clapped in approval.
"Awesome bike!" Soos complemented. Mabel bowed.
"Thank you, Soos!" She said. "It was imported from Hoenn, and it's a Mode 2 Acro Bike 3000!" She thought for a moment. "At least I think that's what the guy said. Anyways, he gave it to me for free since we helped him with his problem at the Galactic Building!"
"Sweet, I'm gonna go get mine!" Soos said before walking into the Bike Shop.
A few minutes later, Soos exited the building, holding a big blue bike with puffy tires that seemed to be able to ride up steep hills and across mountain ranges, and the back of it had an iron pole, and at the top was a triangle-shaped white flag with a gray Pokeball symbol on it.
"It's a Mach Bike 2600!" Soos said. "Last one they had in stock! It came from Hoenn too!"
"Sweet!" Mabel said. She got on her bike and turned toward the Southern exit of the town. "Come on, to Hearthome City!" Soos was about to pedal but stopped himself.
"I'll be right there, dude." Soos said, stepping off his bike. "I just gotta make a quick phone call." He ran off toward the Pokemon Center. Mabel sighed and watched Soos' bike to make sure it wasn't stolen.
Soos entered the Pokemon Center and walked over to the right wall where all of the PCs were lined up. Each one was a small blue terminal with a phone attached to it. Soos grabbed one of the phones and took out the G Card, then dialed a number.
"Hello?" Cyrus's voice could be heard from the other side of the line.
"Hey dude, it's me, Soos." Soos replied.
"Ah, hello." Cyrus said.
"I got a new gym badge and I'll be heading toward Hearthome City." Soos said.
"That's nice." Cyrus replied. "There is a cave between the end of Cycling Road and Hearthome City. This cave is part of the mountain known as Mt. Coronet. Have you heard of such a place?"
"Yeah, I've heard of that place." Soos said. "What about it?"
"I'll meet you inside that cave and I'll pass you a set of instructions for later." Cyrus said.
"What are the instructions for?" Soos asked.
"You'll see." Cyrus replied. "They are for much later, however. They will be key to capturing the legendary Pokemon of the lakebed."
"Okay, I get it." Soos said. "Secrecy and all."
"Oh, and be sure that you absolutely do not share these plans with anyone at all." Cyrus said. "Understand?"
"Yep, I understand." Soos said. "See ya."
"Goodbye." Cyrus said, then he hung up the phone, with Soos doing the same. He exited the Pokemon Center and met up with Mabel, then the two rode their bikes into the Cycling Road toward Hearthome City.
:::::
At that same time, Dipper, Wendy, and Robbie exited the Eterna Gym. Dipper triumphantly held up the Forest Badge in the air, smiling proudly at his success. He put the badge away in his badge case.
"Nice win Dipper!" Wendy cheered outside the gym.
"Thanks Wendy." Dipper replied. "I'm so glad that wasn't another loss. I got worried when she took down my Staravia."
"That Roserade is tough, man." Wendy said.
"So, did Robbie every battle for his badge?" Dipper asked.
"Yep, early this morning." Wendy said. "He won with my guidance, then we went to train in the Eterna Forest."
"Well, nice job Robbie." Dipper said. Robbie grunted. "So, how about we go check out the Old Chateau now? I've got nothing else to do until I go to Hearthome City."
"Yeah, let's go." Wendy said.
They all walked into the Eterna Forest and stood in front of a dilapidated picket fence with some shrubs growing in areas where pieces would be. Staring out into the fog the three of them saw a very old black manor with red tiled roofing. The doorway was under a small golden arch, and the doors were black with red and gold outlining and symbols. The windows were either cracked or damaged, and the place seemed completely abandoned. Dipper remembered the note he found in the parcel, saying his next set of "instructions" would be located here… whatever those instructions were or what they meant.
"Well, here we go!" Wendy hopped the fence, followed by Robbie, and then Dipper, who, instead of being somewhat frightened of going inside a supposedly haunted place, felt pretty determined and brave. They made their way toward the doors, but before entering, Dipper noticed something to his right. He bent down and picked it up. It was a lime-green colored slate with writing engraved on it.
"What the heck is that?" Wendy asked. Dipper blew the dust off of it and began to read the inscription.
"The Insect Plate. Created for the Bug Pokemon. Raises the power of Bug Pokemon." Dipper read. "This should be good to give my Combee."
"Look, there's more." Wendy began reading a longer inscription on the slate. "When the Universe was created, its shards became this plate."
"What does that mean?" Robbie asked.
"I have no idea…" Dipper said. He put the Insect Plate in his backpack. "Might be useful later though."
They all entered the Old Chateau, and as soon as they entered, it was dark. No, nit dark, pitch-black. They couldn't see a thing. Wendy took out a flashlight and flicked it on, showing a dim light that helped them see a little bit, and Dipper did the same. Wendy and Robbie walked off into a room in front of them, and Dipper walked up a stairwell nearby, going to a second floor. He walked into the North most entrance and found himself in a long hallway going left and right, and on the back wall were ten doors. He checked each of them but they were all locked except for one. Dipper jiggled the doorknob on said door and it fell off, the door creaking open slowly. He stepped inside, and a TV was inside, showing nothing but static. Next to it was a small envelope that seemed very new. He walked over, picked it up, tore it open, and read the note inside.
Dipper,
If you are reading this, you've followed my previous set of instructions very well. These next instructions will require a lot of patience, and I mean a lot. You will need to wait in this room until 8:00 PM exactly. Then the next set of instructions will appear.
C/
P.S. You most likely hopped the fence to get to the Old Chateau, didn't you?
The name was heavily scratched out again, leaving the C by itself. Who was this 'C' person? Dipper still didn't have a clue, but he sat down on the bed in the room anyway and began to wait.
:::::
"So you woke up in the middle of the night and went to challenge Gardenia?" Mabel asked Soos. The two had exited Cycling Rode near Oreburgh City and the entrance to Mt. Coronet, and Soos was telling Mabel how he had earned his second badge in little time.
"Yep, I wanted to get it before we left." Soos responded. "What did you do with our bikes anyway?"
"I left them with Cycling Road Express." Mabel answered. "It's this shipment company for the Cycling Road. They hold on to your bike for you when you want. Also, if you call, they can come pick it up from you, or deliver it to you if they already have it."
"That's cool, dude." Soos said. He pointed toward the East toward the side of the mountain where a small cave entrance was, most likely the entrance to the mountain. "There's the entrance."
"Let's go!" Mabel said, running toward the entrance with Soos following close behind.
They entered the cave, and it was dark, obviously. In front of them was a stream of water and a path going South. Seeing as they had no way to cross water yet, they made their way South and took a right, going East. Heading up a set of stairs, Cyrus walked past them. He slipped a piece of paper into Soos' back pocket, then walked off toward the exit. When the two turned to follow him, however, he was already gone.
"…huh, weird." Mabel said, continuing on.
"Yeah." Soos agreed sarcastically.
They exited the cave through a different area and arrived on a small mountain side with areas connected by bridges, a waterfall nearby and lakes down below. They smiled and dashed forward, walking down some stairs into a grassy area. Then they saw a gate looking building they could enter. Smiling, they both entered it. Emerging the other side, they arrived in a large area, a big city. Both Mabel and Soos gasped and smiled at each other.
"We made it to Hearthome City!" Mabel exclaimed.
The city of Hearthome was rather big, one of the biggest in Sinnoh, having a population of roughly 265 people, maybe 275, but it was big nonetheless. One of the major attractions was the Contest Hall located in the North most area of the city, which was a place where a trainer and their Pokemon could participate in an event consisting of showing a Pokemon's talent and personality, as well as their abilities, and in the top left and top right corners were the entrances to the Amity Square, a place where a trainer and their Pokemon could play and have fun, strengthening their bond, and finally, and the most obvious, there was a Pokemon Gym in the Eastern area of town.
"First things first, we need to reserve rooms at the Pokemon Center." Soos said, then the two walked off into the big city to do just that.
:::::
It was 8:00 PM and Dipper began to doze off. He almost fell asleep when he felt something start poking him. Looking up with drowsy eyes, he saw Robbie.
"Wendy was searching all over for you." Robbie said. "Get up, we're gonna go." He, too, was very tired.
"I can't, I have something I have to wait for." Dipper replied. Both of them almost dozed off at the same time before tilting their heads up in surprise, trying to stay awake. Then, the TV rumbled before something emerged from it. Dipper studied it. Some kind of Pokemon. It was a red top looking Pokemon with red/pink-white electricity coming from it. He took out his Pokedex to identify it.
Rotom, the Plasma Pokemon
Electric/Ghost Type
Ability: Levitate
Its electric-like body can enter some kinds of machines and take control in order to make mischief.
Dipper was at first bored but quickly noticed something. His eyes widened. "Robbie, come look at this."
"What do you want?" Robbie groggily looked down at the Pokedex and studied it, then his eyes widened as well. The picture of this Pokemon in the Pokedex was of the same Pokemon, but it was orange with blue-white colored electricity. They gawked at the Pokemon.
Meanwhile, Wendy was downstairs looking around when she heard the two yell from upstairs.
"SHINY POKEMON!"
-(End Of Chapter)-
Heh heh, yep! Another Shiny Pokemon, and this time in the form of a legendary Pokemon no less! Who will catch it? Meanwhile, Mabel and Soos made it to Hearthome City! They'll see some familiar faces their soon… Also, Soos caught a Murkrow. Weird Pokemon for him, huh? It would suit Robbie more… Also, the reason I split the group up is because for most of the story its been Dipper this, Dipper that. I want Mabel and Soos to be the title characters for now, which is why they'll be the focus of the next chapter! Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, reviews are highly appreciated, and as always…
Stay Tuned!
