Hi guys, 087-B here with a new chapter of this story! I'm uploading a lot of chapters to this story lately, aren't I? (That's a lie cause I put this chapter off of my schedule for a while.)
In the last chapter, Dipper won his badge, and he, Wendy, and Robbie went to the Old Chateau and Dipper and Robbie found a Shiny Rotom! Who will catch it? If anyone catches it at all… Oh, Mabel and Soos went down Cycling Road and made it to Hearthome City! This chapter will focus on them and their exploration in the city, as well as finding some familiar faces… some known, and some "Unown"! *shot for bad pun*
And yes, I know that I made another Pokedex error last chapter. Murkrow is not called the Crow Pokemon, it is called the Darkness Pokemon, but in my opinion, it's more of a Crow Pokemon than a Darkness Pokemon, and the Darkness classification should go to Darkrai cause Darkrai is DARKrai, not Pitch-Blackrai… but enough of my pointless rambling.

Chapter 19: 'Home' Is Where The 'Heart' Is!
Mabel and Soos exited the Pokemon Center with their Pokemon healed and some rooms reserved, seeing as they might be staying in this town for a while. They planned on splitting up in the city and checking out the many different attractions within it. Mabel walked off toward the Pokemon Gym while Soos walked South toward the PokeMart to check out the merchandise. He went inside and came out holding a little blue teardrop-shaped pendant called a Mystic Water, which was an item that raised the attack power of Water-Type Pokemon. He called out Prinplup and put the item around the Pokemon's neck. As soon as he did that, however, he heard a voice.
"Well well well, what do we have here?" The voice taunted. Soos' eyes narrowed.
"Deuce." He muttered. He looked over to see Deuce with his arms crossed, smirking.
"We haven't battled in quite some time, you up for one?" Deuce pulled out a Pokeball and spun it around in circles on his pointer finger, like a basketball.
"Yeah, we should battle." Soos said, recalling Prinplup and putting its Pokeball away. "But I'm gonna win."
"In your dreams." Deuce taunted. "Go Noctowl!" Deuce threw out the Pokeball he had and out popped a tall owl-like Pokemon with a stern expression. Soos was intrigued, so he pulled out his Pokedex.
Noctowl, the Owl Pokemon
Normal/Flying Type
Ability: Keen Eye
Its eyes are specially developed to enable it to see clearly even in murky darkness and minimal light.
"Huh, so it's part Flying-Type." Soos smirked and pulled out a Pokeball of his own. "Go Luxio!" He threw out the Pokeball and out popped Luxio, prepared for battle.
"An Electric-Type?" Deuce was a bit worried he might lose, but quickly became determined again. "No matter! Noctowl, use Sky Attack!" Noctowl darted up high into the sky, then shot down toward Luxio.
"Luxio, dodge and use Thundershock!" Soos commanded. Luxio dashed out of the way. Noctowl slammed into the ground hard, taking massive recoil damage. Then Luxio glowed yellow as it shot out jolts of electricity at the Noctowl, heavily damaging it and knocking it out.
"Already?!" Deuce was shocked as he recalled Noctowl back into his Pokeball. "You used the fact that Sky Attack gives recoil damage to your advantage! You cheated!"
"I didn't cheat." Soos said, smirking. "I'm just playing to my strengths." Deuce glared at him, before smirking and pulling out another Pokeball.
"Let's see you try and beat this! Go Wooper!" Deuce threw out the Pokeball and out popped a mostly blue amphibious Pokemon that resembled an axolotl. It's head was large compared to its body, and it had black eyes that were small and round. It had purple, branching gills on the sides of its head, and on its belly were dark blue, curved markings. Soos pulled out his Pokedex in curiosity.
Wooper, the Water Fish Pokemon
Water/Ground Type
Ability: Water Absorb
When walking on land, it covers its body with a poisonous film that keeps its skin from dehydrating.
'That Wooper could be dangerous, and the fact that it's part Ground-Type is bad enough. I wonder…' Soos thought. He smirked. '…but it's also part Water-Type, so it's weak to Electric-Types!'
"You gonna make a move or what?" Deuce asked, getting impatient.
"Luxio, use Spark!" Soos commanded. Luxio shot out multiple little bolts of electricity at Wooper, but it wasn't affected. "What?! But it's a Water-Type!" Deuce grinned.
"It's a Water-Type AND a Ground-Type!" Deuce said. "Ground-Types aren't affected by Electric-Type attacks!" Soos' eyes narrowed.
'How am I gonna beat this thing if it's immune to electric attacks?' He thought. 'Wait, I have an idea…' He smirked. "Luxio, use Bite!" Deuce's eyes widened as Luxio darted over to Wooper and bit into it's head, damaging it and making it struggle in pain.
"Wooper! Break free with Water Gun!" Deuce commanded. Wooper shot a trail of water but missed horribly. Luxio threw Wooper up in the air with its mouth, and then it crashed down into the ground knocked out. Soos smirked.
"Two down. You lose yet?" He said.
"You just have to be so cocky, don't ya?" Deuce said angrily, recalling Wooper into its Pokeball. He then pulled out a third Pokeball. "I got one more Pokemon up my sleeve. Go Grovyle!" Deuce tossed the Pokeball and out popped a taller green gecko Pokemon with a red chin and stomach, a green line going through the center of its stomach, a long green leaf popping out of it's head and leaves sticking out of it's wrists and two small leaf like tails. Soos pulled out his Pokedex.
Grovyle, the Wood Gecko Pokemon
Grass Type
Ability: Overgrow
It lives in dense jungles. While closing in on its prey, it leaps from branch to branch.
"I'm guessing your Treecko evolved?" Soos' asked. Deuce smirked and nodded. "No matter! Luxio, use Thunder Wave!" Luxio glowed yellow and shot out small little electricity bits that surrounded and encaged Grovyle, paralyzing it.
"Grovyle! Break free and use Bullet Seed!" Deuce commanded. Grovyle managed to move a bit and shoot out some seeds that darted toward Luxio and struck it.
"Luxio, use Bite!" Soos commanded. Luxio darted towards Grovyle and was about to bite into it.
"Dodge it and use Razor Leaf!" Deuce commanded. Grovyle jumped out of the ay and began shooting small leaves toward Luxio, making contact with it and damaging it, knocking it back to Soos.
"We haven't screwed up yet, Luxio! Use Quick Attack!" Soos commanded. Before Deuce or Grovyle could react, Luxio quickly darted over and rammed into Grovyle, knocking it back towards Deuce.
"Shrug it off and use Quick Attack as well!" Deuce commanded. Grovyle darted forward towards Luxio, but quickly fell over due to it's paralyzed state. Soos smirked.
"Now while it's down, Luxio! Thunder Shock!" Soos commanded. Luxio shot out bolts of lightning towards the grounded Grovyle, striking it and severely damaging it, knocking it out.
"N-No! I couldn't have lost!" Deuce asked in shock, his eyes widening. He recalled Grovyle into it's Pokeball.
"Great job Luxio!" Soos said, recalling Luxio into it's Pokeball. He then smirked at Deuce. "Considering I won, I guess I'll go after the badge while you're healing up!"
"Who said I'd go after the badge?" Deuce then reached into his pocket and pulled out a badge that looked like three intertwined purple circles that almost formed an upside-down triangle. Soos gasped.
"Wait, you already got it?!" He asked in disbelief and slight annoyance.
"Heck yeah I did." Deuce cockily answered. "It's called the Relic Badge, and I-"
"DEUCE!" Deuce was interrupted as Gideon stormed over to him and snatched the badge away from him, putting it in his badge case. "I thought I told you to NEVER touch my badges EVER!" Soos couldn't help but smirk and snicker as Gideon stormed off again with Deuce following.
"He got what he deserves." He said under his breath. "Now I might as well find Mabel…" Then he sprinted off deeper into the city.

Mabel wandered around the large city for a while until she came in sight of the entrance to a large, cylinder shaped building made of tanned marble. It's roof was that of a large, half-circle shaped glass dome. Above the glass double-doors read the words 'Hearthome City Contest Hall' and underneath it was a subtitle that read 'Home of the original Super Contest!'. Excited, Mabel sprinted towards the magnificent building. She walked inside through the doors and gawked. The floor was a deep magenta color with pink ribbon patterns all over it and the walls were a stainless white marble with pink ribbons hanging down from them. She walked over to the front counter to speak with the attendant.
"Ah, hello!" The attendant greeted with a smile. "Welcome to the Hearthome Contest Hall! How may I help you today?"
"Hi miss! I want to enter a contest!" Mabel said.
"I'm sorry, but a new Super Contest is about to begin, so I'm afraid you're a minute too late." The attendant said. "You can enter through there and watch it if you'd like." She gestured to a door on her right.
"Thanks!" Mabel said, then she walked through the door.
The room she was in was a large circular room with rows and rows of blue and yellow seats, and in the center was a large pink rimmed stage with a yellow top and blue circles on it. People were chatting amongst themselves in the audience. Mabel quickly found an open seat and sat in it. The lights in the room dimmed as a spotlight appeared on the stage, and a man appeared in a brown business suit and fedora with a blue tie and white undershirt. People cheered as he appeared.
"Hello everyone! Welcome to today's Pokemon Super Contest" The man said. "I'm your host, Dexter, and today's contest will be a Normal Rank Cute Contest with four competitors!" The crowd cheered again. "Let's meet them, shall we?"
A person appeared toward the far left end of the stage, and a spotlight shined on them, and to Mabel's surprise, it was a face she'd never thought she'd ever see in Sinnoh.
"Contestant Number 1 is Candy Chiu from the town of Gravity Falls, Oregon!" Dexter said. The crowd cheered as Candy did a graceful bow on stage. Mabel clapped furiously. Candy returned to her normal stance from her bow as Dexter prepared to announce the second contestant, who had appeared on stage. A spotlight shined on the second contestant and Mabel gasped again.
"Contestant Number 2 is Grenda Goodwill, also from the town of Gravity Falls, Oregon!" Dexter said. Grenda waved as the audience cheered once more. Mabel, once again, clapped furiously. She couldn't wait to see the two after the contest, but she was really excited to see what Pokemon they had. A third person appeared on stage as a spotlight shined on them. The third contestant. Mabel gasped a third time.
"Contestant Number 3 is Lazy Susan, who is apparently also from the town of Gravity Falls, Oregon!" Dexter said. Lazy Susan smiled and waved, then did a quick bow and forced her lazy eye to wink. The crowd cheered with Mabel again clapping furiously. A fourth person stepped on stage as a spotlight shined on them. Mabel's eyes widened, then quickly narrowed.
"Contestant Number 4 is Pacifica Northwest from the town of… you guessed it, Gravity Falls, Oregon!" Dexter said. Pacifica blew a kiss to the audience and winked, then smirked. The crowd cheered while Mabel simply scowled at her rival. All four spotlights shined on the contestants.
"Now it's time for the Visual Competition portion of the contest!" Dexter said as the cheering died down. "Each contestant will have 60 seconds to dress up themselves and their Pokemon based on their given themes, and they are only allowed to use five, that's right, five, decoration items on their Pokemon!" A colored spotlight appeared over each contestant.
"Candy's theme is The Natural!" The audience cheered as Candy bowed and walked off stage.
"Grenda's theme is The Colorful!" The audience cheered again as Grenda waved and sprinted off the stage.
"Lazy Susan's theme is The Relaxed!" For a third time, the audience cheered as Lazy Susan did another forced wink with her lazy eye and walked off the stage.
"Pacifica's theme is The Gaudy!" A fourth cheer came from the audience as Pacifica smirked and winked, then walked off stage.
"A small intermission will be going underway before the actual dress up begins, so we thank you for your patience." Dexter said before walking off the stage. The lights in the room undimmed a tiny bit, but the room still remained noticeably darker than it was before.
"Sup Mabes?" Mabel nearly jumped when Soos appeared in the seat beside her.
"Don't scare me like that!" Mabel said. "How'd you find me anyway?"
"Big pretty building, bright and colorful girl…just made sense." Soos answered. "So, you watchin' this Pokemon contest thing or whatever?"
"Yeah, and you won't believe this!" Mabel began. "Candy, Grenda, and Lazy Susan are here in Sinnoh!" Soos' eyes widened, but before he could respond, the lights dimmed again and Dexter reappeared on the stage.
"Well folks, the wait is over!" He said. The audience cheered again. Four monitors came down from the ceiling, each one with the contestants on the screens with each of their Pokemon. Candy now donned a green dress that was covered in sparkling glitter and it had light green ribbons tied on. Beside her was a small four legged green Pokemon with a leaf coming out of it's head and little green stubs emerging from its neck and a little tail on its rear. Mabel took out her Pokedex to identify the new Pokemon.
Chikorita, the Leaf Pokemon
Grass Type
Ability: Overgrow
It uses the leaf on its head to determine the temperature and humidity. It loves to sunbathe.
Grenda now donned a dress similar to Candy's, but this one was red with light red ribbons. Beside her was a small, bipedal Pokemon with a bluish colored back with four red dots on it and a milky colored underside. It had a somewhat long snout and its eyes were closed. A small puff of fire came out of the holes, indicating it was a Fire-Type Pokemon. Mabel pointed the Pokedex in front of it.
Cyndaquil, the Fire Mouse Pokemon
Fire Type
Ability: Blaze
It has a timid nature. If it is startled, the flames on its back burn more vigorously.
Lazy Susan donned a dress similar to the other girls' dresses, except this one was a light brown color with tan colored ribbons. Next to her was a small, mammalian, quadruped Pokemon with brown fur. It had a brown bushy tail with the tip of it and its large furry collar being a cream color. It had two large diamond shaped ears and a small tuft of hair sticking up on its head. Mabel pointed the Pokedex at the Pokemon to identify it.
Eevee, the Evolution Pokemon
Normal Type
Ability: Adaptability
Because its genetic makeup is irregular, it quickly changes its form due to a variety of causes.
Pacifica donned a dress similar to the others, except this one was pink with light pink ribbons on it, and there was a lot more glitter and she also wore a bright pink tiara on her head. Beside her was her Combusken. Each contestant had with them a small pink heart shaped box with a blue gem on top, called a Fashion Case. Their decorations and other items were stored in there for use on their Pokemon during a Super Contest.
"Now let the Visual Contest…" Dexter began, making the others wait in anticipation. "BEGIN!"
"Here we go!" Candy smiled and popped open her fashion case and rummaged through it, pulling out a green scale. "Ah, this would look good on you, Chikorita!"
"We need something snazzy to match your fiery personality, Cyndaquil!" Grenda said as she quickly rummaged around her fashion case. "Something like…" She pulled out a mask of a familiar fire-monkey Pokemon. "A Chimchar mask!"
"If anything, something calm and cool would fit ya right!" Lazy Susan said as she looked inside her fashion case. "Ah! Here we are!" She pulled out a somewhat large, jagged boulder, which made Eevee whimper in fright. "This small pebble should be just like a hot coal!"
"Glitter Powder go!" Pacifica pulled out a bag of some kind of powder from her fashion case. She threw the powder into the air and it surrounded Combusken, making it shimmer and sparkle. "That should do it!"
"DONE!" Dexter shouted. 60 seconds had passed and the audience cheered. The contestants had managed to dress up their Pokemon to a small extent.
"Now for the first contestant and their Pokemon! Candy is entering today's contest with Chikorita!" A light shined on the curtain, showing a silhouette of Candy and Chikorita. The curtain rose up and showed Candy in her dress and Chikorita with a green gem on it's forehead and a flower necklace around it's neck. Candy did a bow while Chikorita bowed its head. Mabel and Soos clapped furiously as the rest of the audience cheered. Then the curtains went down behind Candy and her Chikorita.
"The second contestant, Grenda, is entering today's contest with Cyndaquil!" The light shined on the curtain again, showing a silhouette of Grenda and her Cyndaquil. The curtain rose and Grenda waved in her dress while Cyndaquil was wearing the Chimchar Mask from before, as well as an orange ribbon around its body. Again, Mabel and Soos clapped furiously and the audience cheered as the curtains went down behind Grenda and her Cyndaquil.
"The third contestant, Lazy Susan, is entering today's contest with Eevee!" The light shined on the curtain a third time, showing a silhouette of Lazy Susan and her Eevee. The curtain rose and Lazy Susan waved in her dress while Eevee was wearing a small golden handkerchief, as well as an orange flag tied to its tail. For a third time, Mabel and Soos clapped furiously and the audience cheered as the curtains went down behind Lazy Susan and her Eevee.
"The last contestant, Pacifica, is entering today's contest with Combusken!" The light shined on the curtain a fourth and final time, showing a silhouette of Pacifica and her Combusken. The curtain rose and Pacifica twirled in her dress, smirked, and winked at the audience. Combusken was wearing a red bandana with a fiery logo on it, and it was covered in the glitter powder from before. For the final time, the audience cheered as the curtains went down behind Pacifica and her Combusken. Mabel and Soos simply scowled at her. Now four spotlights shined down on the four contestants. Dexter then walked back over to the middle of the stage.
"Now it's time for the Dance Competition!" Dexter said. "Each contestant will have a turn to dance with their Pokemon, and the other three contestants will have to copy the original dancer's moves!" A small jazzy theme began to play.
"Up first is Candy and Chikorita!" Candy and her Chikorita began doing a mixture of robot-styled dancing and ballet techniques to try and throw off the others. Grenda and her Cyndaquil managed to copy the dance exactly, Lazy Susan and her Eevee managed to do half of it, and Pacifica and her Combusken flunked completely.
"Next is Grenda and Cyndaquil!" Grenda and her Cyndaquil began doing the running man, mixed with hip hop dance moves. Candy and her Chikorita managed to get almost all of it, Lazy Susan and her Eevee once again managed to perfect half of it, and Pacifica and her Combusken flunked it yet again.
"Third is Lazy Susan and Eevee!" Lazy Susan and her Eevee began furiously break dancing. Nobody was able to keep up, and by the time it was Pacifica's turn, Lazy Susan had nailed her dance completely while the others couldn't twist around once.
"And last but certainly not least, Pacifica and Combusken!" Pacifica and her Combusken began performing a combination of hip-hop and ballet, but it was very easy to keep up so everyone else had no problem doing the dance combination.
"Done!" Dexter said, walking back to the middle of the stage. The contestants were out of breath. "As of the end of the Dance Competition, leading in points right now is Lazy Susan!" Lazy Susan smiled and bowed as the audience clapped and cheered. "Now it's time for the Acting Competition of today's contest! Each contest and their Pokemon will perform a combination of moves to 'wow' the audience! I and two other judges shall judge your performance and stability!" The audience cheered again.
Dexter went off stage and quickly appeared in one of three booths connected to the back wall, just above the audience. He was in the middle booth, which had a large red/pink heart on the exterior with the name 'Dexter' imprinted on it. In the booth on his right was a young man with smooth blue hair and a white suit. On the exterior of that booth was a small red heart with the name 'Jordan' imprinted on it. In the booth on his left was a young lady with a golden headband and a pink/white dress. On the exterior of that booth was a small red heart with the name 'Keira' imprinted on it.
"Up first is Candy and Chikorita!" Dexter said. The audience clapped as Candy and Chikorita stepped forward.
"Chikorita! Use Leech Seed!" Candy commanded. Chikorita shot out multiple little seeds that landed on the ground in front of it. "Now use Stun Spore!" Chikorita then shot out many small puffs of yellow dust and sparkles. They landed on the sprouted seeds. "Now use Sunny Day!" Chikorita shot out a bright yellow beam toward the roof and the room lit up like an actual sunny day. The seedlings began to grow into what appeared to be large glowing beanstalks. "Now end with a Razor Leaf!" Chikorita shot out multiple sharp leaves that shot into the beanstalks. The glowing beanstalks exploded into a golden-green colored sparkly dust. The audience cheered as the judges clapped.
"Next is Grenda with Cyndaquil!" Dexter said. The audience clapped a second time as Grenda and Cyndaquil stepped forward.
"Cyndaquil, use Smokescreen!" Grenda commanded. Cyndaquil shot out large black puffs out of its back. The puffs quickly became a large cloud of thick, black smoke. "Now jump into the middle and use Fire Spin!" Cyndaquil dashed into the middle of the smoke and became surrounded in a cyclone of fire which grew in size and surrounded the smoke, creating a smoky vortex that quickly dispersed into mere particles. The audience cheered again, and the judges clapped once more.
"Third up is Lazy Susan with Eevee!" Dexter said. For a third time, the audience clapped as Lazy Susan and Eevee stepped forward.
Lazy Susan simply snapped her fingers. As soon as she did, Eevee did a jump and a front-flip and shot out many stars from it body. The stars flew into the air and exploded into rainbow particles that rained over the audience. The audience cheered a third time as the judges clapped again.
"Finally, fourth up is Pacifica and Combusken!" Dexter said. For the fourth and last time, the audience clapped as Pacifica and Combusken stepped forward. Mabel and Soos scowled at her from the seats.
"Combusken! Ember!" Pacifica commanded. Combusken shot out multiple tiny flames that hovered in the air. "Now quickly use Double Kick!" Combusken then did two kicks at lightning speed, sending the flames up into the sky. "Now use Rock Tomb!" Combusken pulled giant rocks out of nowhere and threw them up into the sky above the ember flames. The rocks collided with the ember flames and both exploded into shining particles of seemingly every color. The audience clapped as the judges clapped for the final time. Mabel and Soos scowled again.
"Now it is time for the results!" Dexter said. "The end of the Visual Competition left Candy and Chikorita with 13 points, Grenda and Cyndaquil with 13 points, Lazy Susan and Eevee with 16 points, and Pacifica and Combusken with 30 points!" The audience cheered again.
"The end of the Dance Competition left Candy and Chikorita with 29 points, Grenda and Cyndaquil with 28 points, Lazy Susan and Eevee with 37 points, and Pacifica and Combusken with 31 points!" The audience clapped a second time.
"And finally, the end of the Performance Competition left Candy and Chikorita with 53 points, Grenda and Cyndaquil with 51 points, Lazy Susan and Eevee with 56 points…" Dexter paused and built up the anticipation of the audience, especially Mabel and Soos. Would Pacifica win or lose? "…and Pacifica and Combusken with 110 points!" The audience clapped loudly as Pacifica and Combusken stepped forward and bowed, then blew a kiss at the audience. Mabel and Soos simply sighed. Pacifica always won. Dexter suddenly appeared on stage beside Pacifica, and the two now stood center stage. He held out a small pink barrette toward Pacifica.
"This is the Pink Barrette! A Pokemon accessory! It is your reward for winning today's Pokemon Super Contest!" Dexter said. Pacifica smirked and took the pink barrette, then put it away inside of her fashion case. "Well everyone! That concludes today's Pokemon Super Contest! I've been your host, Dexter, and I hope you've enjoyed the contest! Farewell!"

Mabel and Soos left the seating are and were now sitting at a table in the main area of the Contest Hall. The contestants were most likely changing in to more comfortable clothing before they left, and the two trainers decided to wait for them so they could be greeted properly.
"I wonder how Dipper, Wendy, and Robbie are doing." Mabel said.
"They'll be fine. Those guys are strong and smart." Soos said. "Well, two of them, anyway." They both chuckled at Soos' remark.
"I can't wait to see Candy, Grenda, and Lazy Susan." Mabel said. "I wonder what other Pokemon they have!"
"We just have to wait." Soos said.
"Right, Soos." Mabel replied.
"And I can't wait."

Whew! This chapter took some time to write! I apologize for the wait, but the good thing about that wait is that I spent most of the time during it coming up with the plot for a later point in the story. Now that I think about it, this chapter is probably one of the longest in the story…
In this chapter, Mabel went to try and enter a Pokemon Super Contest, but one was already starting so she decided to watch it, and to her surprise, she saw Pacifica, but to an even bigger surprise, she saw three other familiar faces. Who may these faces be? Candy, Grenda, and Lazy Susan, of course! They'll appear here and there as recurring characters. Soos and Deuce battled as well, and Soos came out victorious. To make him feel bad, Deuce tried to trick Soos into thinking he was a badge ahead (which he wasn't. In fact, Gideon was.), which proved useless.
Also, you don't know how ANNOYING it was to include EVERY detail a Super Contest had to offer in the games in this story… I'm steering away from Super Contests for a while, so be glad you got one this chapter.
Dipper probably won't appear next chapter because I feel Mabel and Soos need to have a bigger role in this story because, even though they're already main protagonists, they don't really do much in the story as of now. So, sorry Dipper fans, but he'll be absent for the time being! Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, reviews are highly appreciated, and as always…
