Wow, another chapter quickly after the previous? Never expected that!
Welcome back to Gravity Falls: Sinnoh Adventure, friends! 087-B here with yet another chapter!
In the previous chapter, Dipper, Wendy, and Robbie went through the Wayward Cave and at the end, they found the legendary rock golem known as Regirock. However, things were interrupted by Gideon who, after triggering the beast, threw a Master Ball and captured it. Gotta wonder where he got such a thing...the Master Ball, I mean.
In this chapter, we'll be heading back to Hearthome City to check up on Mabel, Soos, Candy, Grenda, and Lazy Susan. Mabel's currently fighting for her third badge! Will she win or lose? Let's find out!
Now, on with the show!
-Chapter 23: Trust Issues-
While Dipper and them were in the Wayward Cave, Mabel was finishing up her third gym battle against Fantina, leader of the Hearthome Gym and a skilled user of Ghost-Type Pokemon. She triumphantly exited the gym with a large grin on her face, doing a victory dance before holding up her third gym badge into the air. The badge was in the shape of a gray circle with three smaller purple circles circling it. This was the Relic Badge.
"Congratulations on your win, Mabel!" Candy said as she and Grenda exited the gym.
"Yeah, that battle was awesome!" Grenda praised.
"Aw, thanks girls!" Mabel said. "It was thanks to these guys that I...I mean, we won!" Mabel took out her three Pokeballs and tew them out, calling out her Grotle, Bibarel, and Mothim. "Congrats, guys! We won!" Her Pokemon smiled and let out their usual cries.
"Hmm...I'm thinking...that maybe I should get you guys a new partner!"
As soon as Mabel said that, however, she heard shouting coming from the center of Hearthome. She recalled her Pokemon and ran towards a small crowd of people, Candy and Grenda following. When they arrived, they found Pacifica, yelling at her Combusken.
"Ugh, and if our two losses weren't enough!" She shouted. "You lost your second contest, then you lost the gym battle, and now you lost my badges in Amity Square! I've had enough of this! And besides, Combusken are so not stylish anymore. See ya later, loser." Pacifica stormed off from her now released Combusken. However, before she could get far, her Combusken let out a war cry and Double Kicked Pacifica in the back, sending her to the concrete road.
"OW! WHAT THE HELL?!" Pacifica screamed, pulling herself to her feet. Before she knew it, Combusken had disappeared. "WELL FINE!" She stormed off to the Pokemon Center.
"Wow, Ive never seen Pacifica that angry." Grenda commented.
"Certainly a rare sight." Candy agreed.
"Her Combusken just acted out of line there...so did Pacifica." Mabel muttered.
"Believe it or not, Sinnoh League rules actually allows Pokemon to attack trainers, but not the other way around." Grenda said.
"Why they allow such a thing is beyond me…" Candy muttered.
"...well we have to make Pacifica feel better. Come on!" Mabel sprinted towards the Hearthome Pokemon Center, Candy and Grenda following.
The three girls entered the Pokemon Center and walked up to the Nurse Joy working the counter.
"Yo Nurse Joy, did an angry blonde-haired girl come in here by chance?" Mabel asked.
"Hm? Why yes, she looked rather stressed and flustered…" Nurse Joy answered. "She stormed off to her room, I suspect."
"And which room is that?" Mabel asked.
"Room 306." Nurse Joy said. "Right on the third floor. Though I don't think she'll let you in, but that's my guess...I'm assuming you're friends of hers?"
"You could say that…" Mabel muttered. "Thanks Nurse Joy." The three girls took off up the stairs to the third floor and found the door to Room 306. Mabel gave it a quick knock.
"What?" Pacifica asked angrily from inside the room. She opened the door and saw it was Mabel, Candy, and Grenda. "Oh, it's you three."
"Why'd you release your Combusken, Pacifica?" Grenda asked. She, along with Candy and Mabel, walked into the room.
"That's my business." Pacifica scoffed. "I don't have to tell you anything."
"Well, you do owe me." Mabel pointed out with a small smile. Pacifica raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Remember? The Gravity Falls Miniature Golf incident?" Mabel prodded at Pacifica's memory.
"Oh...that." Pacifica remarked. Back in Gravity Falls, about one month prior to Sinnoh, Mabel and Pacifica somewhat fixed their ongoing rivalry (for a time) after Mabel saved Pacifica from almost being killed by a bunch of tiny little golf-ball men called Liliputtians. It was certainly a strange experience nonetheless.
"I did do you a solid." Mabel said. "Now you have to do one for me."
"...ugh, fine, I'll tell you." Pacifica said. "I've just...been really stressed, and I feel bad that I lashed out and her like that."
"Her?" Candy questioned.
"Yeah, Combusken's female." Pacifica responded. "Anyways, I didn't mean to overreact like that, but now I don't know where Combusken is, and now I think I can't get her back. I feel like crud over it."
"Hey, c'mon, you'll get over it." Mabel said. "I mean, I gave up a Pokemon egg-"
"You what?!" All three girls exclaimed in unison.
"Jeez, I just gave it to Soos." Mabel defended. "He can take care of it way better than I can."
"No offense, but that kinda makes sense." Pacifica muttered. "Anyways, I guess I do owe you something, so...there it is."
"...you know, I guess you finally realized that stylish Pokemon aren't everything." Mabel pointed out.
"Heh, I guess so." Pacifica said. "I pushed my Pokemon to be perfect, and no I realize that they already were as perfect as they could be in my eyes."
"Now come on, let's go find some wild Pokemon to take your mind off of things." Mabel said.
"...yeah, alright." Pacifica agreed with a small smile, and all four girls left the Pokemon Center, exiting Hearthome City through the southern exit on to Route 212.
"I was planning on coming out here anyway cause I wanted to catch a new Pokemon." Mabel explained. "Something sparkly and interesting...maybe a shiny!" Pacifica rolled her eyes.
"Of course, out of all things, you'd want one of those, Mabel…" She muttered. "So...what are we catching?"
"Whatever you want, silly!" Mabel sprinted off into the large grassy patches of Route 212.
Route 212 was a fairly straight forward route...literally. About halfway through it was the Pokemon Mansion, which contained the infamous Trophy Garden, a place inhabited by rare Pokemon. At the very end of the route was Pastoria City, a city where a trainer could try for a gym badge. Many trainers considered this route to be the quickest way to get to Pastoria, as it only took about two hours to traverse, compared to the ordinary route most other trainers would take, which typically took a few days to complete as it crossed paths with many other towns and cities such as Solaceon Town and Veilstone City for example. Despite being the quicker route, however, Route 212 had a very rainy and muddy part that starts to show once a trainer nears Pastoria, making the end of the route harder to complete.
Back to the girls, Pacifica watched Candy train against small, yellow-ish sheep like Electric-Type Pokemon called Mareep, battling them with her Chikorita, while Grenda was training her Cyndaquil against some wild deer-like Pokemon known as Deerling. Fun fact about Deerling, they have the ability to change their color based on the season. They can be pink in spring, green in summer, orange in the fall, and brown in the winter. The color affects the density of their hair and how warm they are during the time of year.
Mabel, however, wasn't engaged in a battle with any Pokemon. She was actually riding around on the back of her Grotle. Pacifica thought for a moment. None of her Pokemon could really be ridden on except for her Furfrou, and even if she tried to ride it, she'd probably crush it. That didn't mean she was overweight, it just meant Furfrou wasn't meant to carry living organisms and would've found Pacifica to be too heavy to have on its back.
'It would be best to catch a new teammate...' Pacifica thought. Considering her Combusken was no longer on her team, she now only had three Pokemon; Staravia, Furfrou, and Feebas. She had originally caught Feebas for one reason; it could evolve into the beautiful Milotic. However, as she really thought about it now, Feebas was fine no matter how it looked. 'None of my Pokemon are close to evolving...Fufrou can't evolve anyway...I guess I should catch a fifth...I mean a fourth Pokemon.'
Looking around, Pacifica quickly noticed a Pokemon in the grass shift about. It appeared to be a small rock looking Pokemon, made up of dark rocks and white, snowy crystals. A strange place to find such a Pokemon, sure, as these types of Pokemon would normally be found in caves. Intrigued, Pacifica activated her Pokedex and aimed it at the new Pokemon.
Carbink, The Jewel Pokemon
Rock/Fairy Type
Ability: Clear Body
During early stages of it's life, it's crystals are said to glow a bright pink before becoming a clear white at maturity.
'A Carbink, eh?' Pacifica thought. She took out a Pokeball and threw it. "Go Feebas!" Feebas popped out of the Pokeball and surprised the Carbink. "Feebas, use Water Gun!" Feebas shot out a stream of water from it's mouth. It struck the Carbink and sent it to the Earthy ground. "Now go Great Ball!" Pacifica threw a Great Ball at the Carbink, which opened and absorbed it inside. It wiggled three times before clicking, indicating a successful capture. Pacifica smiled and picked up the Pokeball, recalling her Feebas.
'Welcome to the team, new friend.'
-(End Of Chapter)-
Yes, I know, Carbink does not have a Pokedex entry like that anywhere, but this is assuming a Pokemon Z came out to be the Platinum of X and Y, as this story is heavily based off of the plot and style of Pokemon Platinum. If a Pokemon Z came out, Carbink's dex entry would be different from X and Y's entry.
So yeah, Pacifica released her Combusken, then caught a Carbink. That's about it. Also, during Season 3 I'm going to give Pacifica a little more "screen time", as she'll be joining Mabel's group as they have a now somewhat friendly rivalry, compared to their previous rivalry full of hate and despise for one another.
Anyway, here is the caesar cipher code for this chapter:
GRQ'W HASHFW FRPEXVNHQ WR UHWXUQ DQBWLPH VRRQ...LI LW UHWXUQV DW DOO.
Now decipher it!
Anyways, I hope you have enjoyed this chapter, reviews are highly, highly appreciated (I love all feedback, praise, and criticism!), and as always…
Stay Tuned!
