Chapter 54: Forever Young Night
It has been a week after Marcy's birthday. When it was getting dark, both Marcy and Eddie have to be ready for the night. She's going over to Anne's house for sleepover with Anne, Sasha, and mostly KJ since his parents are out of town. And for Eddie, he's going on a big date with his girlfriend.
Right now, Marcy has packed a few things inside of her duffle bag and her backpack because she's going to school tomorrow with her friends. And then she's feeding her pet frog by putting some crickets before the tree frog spit its tongue out to catch some meal. Just then when Eddie came in to check on his sister while feeding.
"Hey, sis. You ready to go?" Eddie asked.
"Ready than ever." replied Marcy.
"Okay, let me know when you're ready."
Marcy nodded after he left the room. When he walked downstairs to the living room, he sees Timon, Pumbaa, and Tatiana as humans in disguise that are sitting on the couch watching a TV show where it shows a celeb plays as a bully that's been popular from the internet.
"Coming up next is The Bully Maguire Show!"
"Whatcha' watching?" Eddie asked.
"We're watching a comedy show that was based off of Sam Rami's Spider-Man movie." Pumbaa answered.
On the TV screen, it shows Bully Maguire setting down 10 boxes of pizzas at the lobby desk from the hotel, but the lady at desk is not amused.
"Pizza time."
"You're late."
"What? Why?"
"I'm not paying for those."
"Give me another chance."
"I'm not paying for-"
"HUUUUAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!"
They burst into laughter from their reaction. Pumbaa rolled off on his back laughing while Timon is repeatedly banging his fist on the armchair as the meerkat laughed it out loud.
"(laugh) That guy sure has some issues!" Timon laughs.
"I don't know who made this show, but it was hilarious!" Tatiana laughs as well.
Eddie shook his gently, but let out a chuckled.
"How could I ever forget when memes are spreading." said Eddie.
Just then when Marcy came downstairs with her duffle bag she's been carrying and her backpack on her back as the Taiwanese girl approach in front of the TV.
"Okay, I'm ready to go." Marcy chimes.
"That was fast." Eddie surprised.
"Alright, kids. Before you go, I want to make sure that the two of you will be up early in the morning before school." Timon reminds his adopted kids about the plan. "Eddie, make sure you be home early after you had a date and there can't be no more later than nine."
"Understood." Eddie nodded.
"And Marcy, after he drops you off, I'm sure that Oum will have to ask you and your friends to be in your bed like around nine. So, no staying up all night until morning."
"Got it." Marcy thumbs up.
"Good, now where are our hugs and kisses?" Timon reach his arms for a hug.
Marcy set her duffle bag down and she went to embrace her adopted parents and then gives them a sweet kiss on their cheeks.
"Love you, mom and dad." said Marcy.
"We love you too, sweetie." replied Tatiana.
Then she hugs Pumbaa as her uncle hugs her back.
"Love you, uncle Pumbaa."
"Love you too, pumpkin. Take care." replied Pumbaa.
She let go of her embrace and picks up her duffle bag. Eddie took his keys out from his pocket and looked at his adopted parents when he had to make sure.
"Don't worry, dad. I won't be gone until nine." said Eddie.
"That's our boy." replied Timon.
"Say hi to your friends for us." Tatiana reminded them.
"We will." replied Eddie when he opens the door.
"Goodbye!" Marcy waved when she walked out.
"Bye, sweetie!" Timon waved back.
"Don't be a stranger!" Pumbaa added.
Then he closed the door behind them. The room became silent while the TV was running until Timon and Tatiana looked at each other's eyes showing their lovely moments.
"Alone at last." said Timon.
"So, what do you want to do tonight?" Tatiana kindly asked.
Then he looked at his best friend smiling.
"Pumbaa, ready our lovely date."
"Way ahead of you." Pumbaa took his chef hat out and put it on his head to get this meal started.
Meanwhile at the Boonchuys residence, Eddie pulled over to the curb when driving his silver car. Marcy was up in front with her brother since they've already left. She looked at him when smiling that he did everything he can is to look after her while their parents aren't around.
"Thanks for dropping me off at Anne's house, Eddie." Marcy smiled.
"No problem, Marce. And remember what dad says..."
"Don't stay up all night until morning because we have school tomorrow." Marcy finish Eddie's sentence.
"That's the spirit!" Eddie gives his sister a quick noogie when she laughed.
"Eddie!" Marcy giggles.
"What? Just wanted to give you a noogie." Eddie chuckled.
"Okay, tell Bailey I say hi."
"Will do, and tell you friends I say hi."
"I will! Bye, bro-bro!" Marcy waved when got out of the car and then opens the back door to get her bags out before she closes the door.
"Bye, sis! See you tomorrow!" Eddie waved, then closed the window and drove off as Marcy waved her arms until she turns around and head towards the door.
When she approaches in front of the door, she rang the doorbell until it opens by Anne that's been smiling warmly at her.
"Hey, Har-Mar!" Anne greeted.
"Hey, Anna-Banana!" Marcy quickly hugged her best friend after she close the door behind her. "I'm here!"
"Perfect timing, as usual. Come on, the shows about to start."
"Really?! What are we watching?!"
"Camp Jurassic!"
"Oh, my gosh! I can't wait!"
"Hey! You nerds are coming or what?" said Sasha offscreen.
As two girls walked over to the living room where Sasha and KJ is sitting on the floor waiting for them with TV show is on. He was eating popcorn when looking up at them smiling as the girls sits on the couch.
"Hey, Sash! Hey, KJ!" Marcy greeted.
"Hey, Marbles." Sasha greeted back.
"Marcy!" KJ smiles after he swallows his snack and went to hug her."
"(giggles) You're here, too?" Marcy giggles after hugging him back.
"Yeah! My mom asked Mrs. Boonchuy if I could stay here until they got back home from business trip." replied KJ.
"Sweet! Now we get to watch War of the Warlocks right after this. Are you up for challenged?"
"Didn't we watch this movie before?" Anne asked.
"No, that was the Lord of the Rings, but THIS is the best movie that I've ever watched! My family and I went to see the movie when it came out last year on December." replied Marcy.
"Sounds like a cool movie. What do you think, guys?" KJ asked if they agree to join her.
As much as Anne and Sasha love hanging out with their best friend, but they don't want to hurt her feelings because they don't seem to interest some fantasy movie, but it was Marcy's favorite movie. Can she have blamed them for all this?
"Well, guess that's okay with us." Anne agrees a little.
"Ditto." Sasha added.
"Awesome! You won't regret this how awesome this movie is!" Marcy chimes.
"Look! The show is starting!" Anne pointed her finger at the TV screen.
"We are now returning to Camp Jurassic: Escape from Diabolus Rex!"
KJ sat back down and pass the popcorn bucket to Marcy where they can share as they locked their eyes on the TV screen where it shows a hybrid dinosaur is chasing the main cast in the forest. Marcy was so excited to share her interest her favorite movie when this is over and this time it might be different.
Meanwhile at the orphanage, Eddie parked the car and then got out as he walks towards through the main gate until he entered to the main lobby where two toddler girls were chasing as they passed by them.
He could see some kids that are playing until he spotted Bailey that's been helping with her adoptive mom to organize their front desk. As he walks towards them, he rang the bell to get them attention and then smiles.
"Hey, Eddie!" Bailey greeted.
"What up, buttercup?" Eddie greeted her back.
"Just helping mom to get ready for the next day."
"Gotcha." Then he looked at her adoptive mother. "Hi, Mrs. Padilla."
"Hello, Eddie." Mrs. Padilla greeted him. "Going out for tonight?"
"Yep, we won't be gone until nine." replied Eddie.
"That's good to hear."
"Well, I better get going." said Bailey.
"Okay, you two have fun now and drive carefully."
"I love you, mom." Bailey hugged her mother.
"Love you too, Bailey." Mrs. Padilla gives her a kiss on her daughter's cheek.
"Thanks, Mrs. Padilla." Eddie thanked her.
"Of course, Eddie. Please be careful."
"I will."
"Bye, mom!" Bailey waved.
"Bye, Bailey! I'll see you soon!"
As the two went for an exit while her mother is watching, they walk straight to the car where he parked, and then entered the vehicle. He turns his key to turn on the engine and then buckled up for safety.
"So, you ready for our date?" Eddie asked.
"You bet." replied Bailey. "Where to?"
"That depends. What are your suggestions?"
"You know, I think I would like to head over where we could dine somewhere like..."
"Spaghetti Factory?"
"Yeah, that would be nice."
The way he looked at her smiling, he felt a little blush when she talks nice things around him. He could tell how beauty this girl is. Then he shifted his gear forward as he began to drove off and left the parking area from the orphanage.
Back at home, Timon and Tatiana are sitting alone at the dining room with white table cloth, candlesticks that carries three candles, and two glass of water. It's like going on their fancy dinner, but at home.
They've been chatting about how their most experience after they got married. They had so much fun like going on their honeymoon, then their camping trip, and then their first family vacation trip from last April as they shared their laughter.
"Oh, man. Remember when we went on Mission: Space where I almost puke myself after we got off, but the two of you girls are immune?" Timon chuckled.
"Oh, darling! That was so funny!" Tatiana giggles.
"I know, right? And then Marcy got distracted and nearly falls over at the fence, but then overwhelmed by a bunch of baby ducks!" Timon burst out with a laugh.
"So adorable! It's cute that they see her as their mother."
"Yeah, at least no one was injured." Timon calmed down after the laughing.
"It has been two months since we got married. Enjoying our honeymoon, then our trip to Orlando, and then our movie night."
"I'm glad that we were meant to be together since we have first met."
"Yeah, same here. You still thinking about having kids?"
"Marcy and Eddie? Yeah, they've been living with us for a long time. Well, Pumbaa and I adopt her first before you came in-"
"Right, I mean... having our own kids."
Timon went silence for a second when he's a bit confused.
"Wait, you mean... our own kids?"
"Mmm hmm" Tatiana nodded.
Then he comes to realize what she has just meant, but the only problem is if they did have their own kids, how are they're going to share some rooms? Before he came to replied, but Pumbaa came in wearing his chef outfit to act like a waiter when he set the two plates of giant pillbugs with silverware.
"Here you go. Two Giant Pillbug with extra salt. Bon apatite!"
Pumbaa steps away as the two lovers prepares to eat.
"Ooh! Don't mind if I do." said Timon delighted before he picked up a straw.
He taps it up to open the pillbug armor and it let out some steam. Tatiana looked curious when she picked up her straw and taps it to open as it does the same and looked surprised how what's inside of.
They set their straws inside of their meal and start slurping. It may sound disgusting when humans eat, but for them it was their favorite meal. As Tatiana's eyes went wide and slurp fast that it was so good. Timon looked at his wife that she's enjoying it.
"You liked it?" Timon asked with his mouthful.
But he has to wait a bit until she swallows the whole thing and looked at him smiling.
"Are you kidding? That was my favorite meal!" Tatiana chimes.
"Really?!"
"Yeah! Where'd you find these?"
"It's funny that you asked. Pumbaa and I went to Peru back in our old days as we dine ourselves in the middle of the jungle. It's kinda like the 50's style thing, but what we both know that they have all the bugs we can eat. Especially the big one." Timon explained.
"Wow! You really got to take me there."
"One thing at a time, honey. It comes to work extra hard to earn some payment. So, that's I where I decided to bought some from the market place before we start cooking tonight for the both of us."
"Aw, that's so sweet of you."
"Thanks, princess. It's the least I can do is to make our date looked perfect."
"It doesn't have to be perfect, you know."
"Tell me about it."
As Timon start to drink up all of mushy stuff out from the pillbug, she's been staring him dreamily. All she's been thinking about having their own kids. But when she asked, he's all a bit nervous at first. She'll probably has to wait until it's time to talk.
Once their pillbug was empty, they use their napkins to wipe off their lips for manners and then they picked up their silverware to cut out some part since it's their only dinner night when it comes for manner.
Back at Anne's house, they've already finished their favorite TV show, then they switched their clothes into pajamas as the four of them are having their little games in Anne's room where they played truth or dare.
Since Anne get to go first, she dared Sasha to do something that's a bit embarrass when she felt humiliated as the kids burst into laughter and one day, she'll have Anne her payback when it's her turn.
"Can't believe that you made me do this." Sasha mumbled.
"Oh, relax. It's just a little prank. That's all." Anne brushed her off.
"Yeah, right. Next time, it's time for a little payback."
"Whatever, dude."
Sasha rolled her eyes teasefully and then laid her eyes on KJ when smirked.
"Alright, KJ. Truth or dare."
"Dare." KJ answered.
"I dare you..." Sasha paused when she smirked her lips. "To kiss Marcy!"
Then the three of them went shocked.
"WHAT?!" Marcy exclaimed when blushed.
"Dude! Uncool!" Anne gives her a scowl look.
"What? You're not the only one who went out on multiple dates."
Anne looked embarrassed when she mentioned it, but KJ cuts off.
"Okay, I can do it, Anne. I hope you don't get angry." said KJ when blushing.
"It's okay, Anne. It's just a dare game." Marcy comfort her best friend.
Anne dropped her scowl when she sees Marcy's softened face, and then KJ looked a bit nervous. She couldn't even blame him how they started to play truth or dare games.
"Sorry, guys. I'm not mad at you. I was just... surprised. That's all." Then she turns her head at Sasha with her scowl looks. "You owe him big time."
"He asked for it." said Sasha before she looked at him. "Alright, kiddo. You know what to do."
"Okay Sash, I know I can." KJ nodded.
He crawled over to Marcy that was next to Anne as they both blush. They looked pretty nervous when he asked for dare and then he gives her a small kiss on her cheek. Marcy went madly blush like strawberries.
Anne is holding her giggle, thinking that it's cute. However, Sasha is holding on to her phone when she likes to take a picture for a little fun, but that wasn't enough when she saw this.
"I meant the lips."
KJ and Marcy went blush even more. They shared their eyes when started to emberassed themselves, but he leans in to give her a quick kiss on her lips while Anne and Sasha burst out a huge laugh like a hyena.
"That was so hilarious!" Sasha laughs after taking a picture.
"You two are so adorable!" Anne laughed.
Poor Marcy felt embarrassed in front of her friends, but she knew that it was all just a silly little game. KJ nervously smiles while rubbing the back of his head.
"Um... can we agreed not to tell anyone?" Marcy asked for a favor.
"Don't worry, Marbles. I won't tell anyone." Sasha winked her left eye at them.
"(sigh) Thank goodness." KJ relieved.
"Alright, KJ. Your turn." said Anne.
"Well, I'm not good at inventing this for truth or dare."
"Oh! I'll go!" Marcy raised her hand.
"Well, Marbles, do it!"
"Alright, Anne. Truth or dare!"
"Truth?" Anne shrugged.
"Okay, which boyfriend do you have a crush on?"
Anne's face went blush a bit, but it's hard to tell which boys she would like. Then KJ sits in between Anne and Marcy as the Latino boy is starting to comforting her. He knew that felt nervous about being honest.
"Don't be afraid, Anne. I'm here for you." said KJ softly.
Anne looked at him and nodded. Sasha waited impatiently a bit.
"Well, Anne. What's it gonna be."
"Um... I think I might have a crush on..." The way Anne laid her eyes on KJ as the boy tilted his head smiling, waiting for to answered until she began to blush a little more. "You?"
KJ blinked his eye. Sasha nearly dropped her phone when surprised. Marcy formed her smile with her eyes going sparkles like anime.
"Aaaawwwww!" Marcy cooed.
"Are you serious, Anne?" KJ surprised.
"Y-yeah. I do." Anne nodded. "Ever since when we were kids, you gave me a flower, defended me, and... well... you are the kindest and most sweet little boy that I ever met. That's when I had a crush on you."
"Really?"
"Yeah, dude. But there's small problem." She dropped her smile a bit. "I don't want to hurt Frank or Darrel's feelings, but it's so hard to choose. I mean, this universe confuses me. I just wish that most people can understand my feelings."
KJ could understand what she really means. He reached his hand to her hand and rub it gently to comfort the Thai girl.
"Don't worry, Anne. I understand you. I know you'll make people understand it."
"Really?" Anne asked softly.
"Yeah Anne, really."
Then her heart felt touched. She leans on him and gives him a small kiss on his forehead, making him blush very softly. He smiles at her as the Latino boy gives her a warm hug. Marcy and Sasha were smiling warmly at them.
"Aw, that's very sweet of you." said Marcy.
"Thanks." He turns his head at Sasha. "Okay, Sash. Your turn."
"Well, since it's almost seven, let's call it a night. Besides, Marcy was dying to show us the movie." Sasha suggested.
"Yes! It is my time to shine!" Marcy beams up, but gives him an apologize look. "Sorry, KJ."
"It's okay. I don't mind watching with you guys." KJ shrugged.
"Sure, why not." Anne agrees.
This made Marcy very happy as she pulls out a DVD box of War of the Warlocks from her backpack to show this to her friends.
"Let's get this show on the road!"
Meanwhile, somewhere a bit far from the city where trees and grass are as the car parked by a lonely tree until the engines are off. It's been an hour since Eddie and Bailey went out for a date after they have eaten their spaghetti.
While they still have time left before nine, Bailey asked that she wanted to showed him something that she likes to visit as Eddie agrees as much as likes. When they got out from the car, she took out a guitar that she brought with her before they left.
"Well, here we are." said Bailey.
"Is this where you hangout?" Eddie asked.
"Yep. My mom and I used to hangout here for picnic to get to know each other after Marcy was adopted."
As they climbed on to his car without giving a scratch, they sat on front of the hood, set her guitar next to her. She looked up to the sky, but it's hard to see some stars because of a little foggy.
Then they overlooked at the city of L.A. with many lights like all vehicles and some indoor lights were turned on inside some buildings, but some were turned off to call in a night. Eddie remembers when he used to look at the view when he was young.
"Isn't it beautiful? Well, it may look beautiful, but it's hard to see some stars in the sky, all because some traffic." said Bailey.
"Yeah, that's sucks. It would be a lot easier if people should stop wasting gas and use some power savings like batteries." Eddie suggested.
"I totally agreed. One of my friends is part of the tree hugger to keep the whole environment clean. We were volunteered to keep this place cleaned up like I used to hang out here."
"That's very nice. How often do you visit here?"
"Only when I'm old enough. Whenever I feel lonely, I used to come visit more often.
"How come?"
Bailey turned her face at him when dropped her smiles a bit.
"Can I be honest with you?" Bailey asked softly.
He could see her honest looks whenever something's up.
"Of course, Bails. I'm all ears." replied Eddie.
"Okay. When mom and I came here for reason, she told me that I used to have my own family. With my parents are gone, I don't even know if I had cousins or my aunt and uncle, but I don't remember what happened to my grandparents."
"Did something happen to them?"
When Eddie asked, Bailey pulled out a silver necklace with a heart shape around her neck. She gently polished as the girl explain this to him.
"It was a gift from my mother, and her mother before her. Before she died, my father pass this to me so that I will never forget. While I was watched over by my babysitter, the police came in and said that he died in a car crash. I was too young to understand until I was around like eight years old."
"Oh, I'm so sorry." Eddie apologizes softly.
"It's okay. I never knew what my parents are, but I can feel what's inside of me. When I went into sleep, I could hear their voice in my dreams." replied Bailey.
"Can you see them?"
Bailey nodded. As the girl picked up her guitar, she looks down as she tidy up a bit to different tone, and then started to strumming strings as the music starts. Eddie has never seen her doing her guitar like this before.
She looked up at him as the Taiwanese boy is staring at her emeralds eye while strumming her guitar as her ginger hair was blown by the wind a bit. The way she looked at him, he looked smile warmly at her.
"This is the song that I've been practice whenever I listen to my favorite music." said Bailey.
"What kind of music?" Eddie asked.
"Something that you might familiar with."

When the song ends after Bailey stops playing, they felt their lips has been touched. Eddie cupped his hand to her right cheeks. It took a less than a second as they continue to kiss until they released from their lips to catch their breath.
They opened their eyes and looked soft at each other. It was like their second time that they've done that since their first musical. Bailey smiles at him as the Taiwanese teen is softly blush.
"Your voice sounds beautiful." said Eddie.
"Thank you." Bailey thanked him.
As they continue to stare, but suddenly they heard a droid sound. Eddie checked through his pocket until he took out his phone and looked at the message. Bailey overlooked at the phone.
"What's up?" Bailey asked.
"Well, it's almost nine o'clock. We should be head back home 'cause we got school tomorrow." replied Eddie.
"I see."
Eddie got off the front hood of his car while Bailey is still holding her guitar and got off the the front hood as well. After she put her guitar to the back, she sits up in front next to Eddie after they got in.
As they got their seatbelts buckled, Eddie turns his keys to turn on the engine. Bailey reached her hand to laid on his hand where the turbo sticks are. He looked at Bailey as the teen girl smiles softly at him.
"Um... you think we could... come back for a visit?" Bailey asked kindly.
Then Eddie formed his smile at his girlfriend with a reply.
"As you wish."
After he shifted his gear as they drove off back home to the orphanage where he picked her up. Once the car has left, the Wisp is the only one that's still hanging on the tree branch until it disappears into thin air.
Back at Anne's house, Marcy and her friends has been watching War of the Warlocks for at least three hours since she's putting on her favorite movie on the computer screen from Anne's desk. She's wearing her purple blanket with stars on, around her neck like a cloak.
Anne and KJ were sitting on the floor and Sasha is on Anne's bed, lying flat on the pillow with her phone on. Marcy is standing next to the screen where it shows a black midget is leading his resistance army against the Lich King with the army of the dead when the movie was almost over in the final battle.
"Your puny resistance stands no chance against my undead horde!"
"I know what you're thinking. The resistance stands no chance against the Lich King's undead horde." Marcy explains this story plot to her friends.
"Totally." said Anne, but awkwardly looks away.
"That's pretty cool." KJ admires this.
"But little do they know, the whole battle is just a distraction so that our heroes can sneak into the castle and destroy the Crystal Crown of Tantamore." said Marcy.
"Whoa! Spoiler alert!" said Sasha on her phone.
"Sorry. Sorry. It's such a good movie and I get carried away."
"Mar-Mar. I'm joking. I don't actually care."
KJ frowned at the statement, feeling that Sasha hurt Marcy's feelings. He has to cheer her up quickly.
"You know, Marbles, I've seen this movie before when my parents and I watch the premiere last year. It was my favorite too.
"Phew! At least I didn't ruin the second twist where it turns out-"
Her words were cut off by Sasha by throwing her doughnut pillow in the face to avoid any spoilers.
"Pillow fight!" Anne and Sasha said it with unison.
As the girls start to throws a pillow fight by whacking at each other KJ went dodge until they all fell to the floor laughing. Marcy looks up to the screen and see the movie is still running.
"Ooh, guys, here comes my favorite part! Guys?" Marcy turns around, but sees Anne and Sasha that already went asleep.
KJ is the only one who is still awake, but shaking his head gently.
"Of course, they went to sleep." said KJ.
"Oh. You guys fell asleep again." said Marcy quietly.
She took off her blanket from her neck and set gently on her sleeping friends. She looked pretty sad that none of them are interest of her favorite movie, but KJ laid his hand on her shoulder to comfort her.
"It's okay, Marbles. I'm sure they're understand how they feel." KJ soothing her.
"Thanks, KJ. We used to watch TV together when we were kids, but whenever I tried, they seem to ignored." replied Marcy.
"Don't worry, you still got me, then Darrel and Ethan, and your big brother. We're dungeons buddy, right?"
"Yeah, dungeons buddy."
"Hey, I'm gonna stay up with you until the movie ends."
"Thanks, you're the only person that I could ever trust." Marcy hugged KJ.
"No problem, Marbles." KJ chuckled.
They looked up at the screen where the main protagonist is at the edge of cliff before he speaks as KJ spoked first.
"You'll never defeat us, Lich King..."
Then Marcy follows along with him.
"Not when we have the power of friendship."
