Salutations!

I sit up with a gasp and stare blankly at a screen before me.

You have been reborn! You are welcome!

I am the Departed Immigration and Complementary Enlightenment System! But you can call me D.I.C.E.!

"Dice...s?" I frown.

I blink slowly and look down at my pale hands.

'Why the hell am I not freaking out?'

I look past the two small pale appendages to see that I am in some sort of alleyway, there's a massive blood splatter below me.

Why 'Departed Immigration and Complementary Enlightenment', you might ask? Well, my creators really wanted to get an acronym that spelt Dice! Simple, right?

There is a reason to this madness, however, this system allows you to become a d&d character! Incredible, right?! However, it's not the average D&D system, you don't exactly get Exp... what you DO get however, is a little something called 'Electrum'.

We will get into that in a moment! First let's make you, shall we?

A screen appears before me, showing a simple character sheet.

Immediately I look down to see the words 'BAB' and smirk.

'good... my home system... 3.5'

If you haven't already noticed, the DICE system automatically aligns itself to whatever system you are most familiar with.

Name:

Level: 0

Class: None

Race: Human

Stats:

STR: 0
DEX: 0
CON: 0
INT: 0
WIS: 0
CHA: 0

Now, a couple things might be going through your head right now, primarily, 'Why aren't I dead. A living creature with 0 in stats literally cannot function'. And well, it's quite simple. This is the tutorial, friend! Rules don't apply here! First, shall we roll your stats?

The sound of dice clinking around from somewhere causes me to flinch

Statistic 1: 17!

Statistic 2: 6!

Statistic 3: 10!

Statistic 4: 14!

Statistic 5: 16!

Statistic 6: 15!

Oh... a 6 huh? Well... at least you've got quite a few better stats... Why don't we select your class, next?

I am pulled to a class page.

Now, these classes function practically the same as they did in your original 3.5 system, however, there is a massive change you will find in this system, as previously stated, you won't get any exp. What you do get, is Electrum.

Electrum is the shop's currency, the shop allows you to purchase Levels, Skill Points, Feats, Items, Stat points, race changes, templates, class swaps, and even special rules like 'Gestalting'! The regular way you get 'Electrum' is by gaining 'achievements', completing quests appointed by the system, or through completing bounties by killing 'Elite' enemies... which is technically a quest now that I think about it.

Anyways, there is a second way to gain Electrum!

For standard classes, every seven days you survive you will gain 1 Electrum for every level you have, to save up for anything worthwhile you'll need to save up for quite a while~

However, there are a second set of classes that allow you to get much more out of surviving day to day! The NPC classes!

Every day your survive as an NPC class is a victory, thus, every day you live, you gain 1 Electrum per level of an NPC class you have.

However, if you are a true dare devil, and TRUELY believe in your skill, you may select the weakest of all NPC classes, the 'Commoner'! Every day you survive as one of those, you gain 2 Electrum per commoner class level! Potentially allowing you to get the good stuff in an extremely short time!

Now, please select your class!

I frown slightly and cross my arms.

Technically it would be better to select an NPC class for my first level.

I slowly gain a smirk.

However...

I reach up and tap a search bar near the top of the screen and type in a certain class.

The class appears instantly, causing me to smile and double tap on it.

Are you sure you want to select this class? (Y/N)

I reach out and tap the 'Y' and slowly gain a savage grin.

Please allocate your Stats, Skillpoints, Feats, and more! You've played D&D before! You can do it!

Ohoho I am going to break myself... the main problem is... where the fuck do I put that six?

Human Feat:
Adaptive Style:
You can change your readied maneuvers at any time by taking a 'full-round action'. If you're a crusader, your current granted maneuvers are lost and you gain new granted maneuvers as if you had just readied your maneuvers for the day.

Discipline Focus: (Diamond Mind)
Treated as having 'Weapon Focus' for Katanas, Rapiers, Short Spears, and Tridents.

I slowly nod as I look over the list.

Yes. This will do nicely.

The book this class came from, the Tome of Battle- otherwise known as the 'Tome of Weeabo Fighting Magic'- is a book not allowed in many games, primarily because of a little something called 'manuvers'.

Basically, they are spells, you can use an unlimited number of times per day... normally, for something that strong, they should be considerably weaker than spells, right? Wrong. They are just as powerful as the average spell... the only problem is diversity, there are hundreds to thousands of spells per spell 'level' where there are under thirty maneuvers per 'level'.

Readied Maneuvers:

Shadow Blade Technique: (Shadow Hand): (Readied)
This maneuver allows you to create a mystical double of your weapon. As you attack, your foe must decide which weapon to defend against. In most cases, the illusory weapon distracts your foe and allows your true attack to hit. In some cases, both attacks strike home. In this case, the shadow blade discharges its magic and imbues your attack with cold energy.

Sudden Leap: (Tiger Claw): (Readied)
You can make a Jump check as a swift action and move the distance determined by your check result. You provoke attacks of opportunity with this movement, and you must move in a straight line. As with any movement, you can attempt a Tumble check to avoid any attacks you provoke with this sudden leap. You can't move through enemies, unless you succeed on the appropriate Tumble check.

Sapphire Nightmare Blade: (Diamond Mind) (Readied)
You attempt a Concentration check as part of this maneuver, using the target creature's AC as the DC of the check. You then make a single melee attack against your target. The attack is also part of this maneuver. If your Concentration check succeeds, the target is flat-footed against your attack, and you deal an extra 1d6 points of damage. If your check fails, your attack is made with a -2 penalty and deals normal damage.

Wind Stride: (Desert Wind) (Readied)
The desert wind envelops you and carries you across the battlefield, giving you a burst of speed to move around and through your enemies. Until the end of your turn, you gain a +10-foot enhancement bonus to your land speed.

Additionally, another special thing 'martial' classes get, are 'Stances'. These are basically spells that can be active at all times, but only one at a time barring certain class features.

Stances Known:

Hunter's Sense: (Tiger Claw)
Your mastery of the Tiger Claw discipline allows you to become attuned to the feral side of your personality. On a fundamental level, you begin to think more like a wild beast and less like a civilized creature. Your enemies are prey to be hunted down and slain. Your allies are packmates. This shift in view spreads to your physical senses. As long as you are in this stance, you gain the scent 'special ability'.

A new screen appears before me.

Would you like to give yourself a penalty for extra Electrum? You may choose a penalty from a list if you really want, hell, you could even pick all of them if you wanted!

"Show me the list." I sigh, my slightly scratchy voice echoing out in the nearly silent back alleyway, causing me to bring up a hand to my throat and rub it quietly.

Character Start Penalties:

Note: with the system, these aren't permanent. If you choose to maim yourself, you will remain maimed until you manage to gain powerful enough spellcasting to fix it, or simply pay the system to fix it for you.

Limb Loss: 1000 Electrum
You may choose one of your current 'Crucial Limbs' to sacrifice in order to gain more Electrum.
Special: This can be chosen multiple times, the amount of Electrum increasing by 50% for every additional time past the first.

Mute: 500 Electrum
You sacrifice your voice for more of that sweet, sweet, Electrum

Deaf: 1000 Electrum
You sacrificed your ears for more Electrum-

I stop reading the descriptions as it mostly seems to be things along the line of 'blah blah blah, Penalty for Electrum.'

Wait, child?

'Shop.'

A new screen appears in front of me, several buttons are places around the screen, you have the 'Character Advancement/Alteration' side to the top left, showing a picture of a man in a wizard hat casting burning hands, to the top right, there is 'Items' showing a set of armor that looks like it is made out of blue crystal and stee- wait, is that the Stalhrim Armor from fucking skyrim?! Before I can examine it closely, the image shifts to a pair of gloves. Then a moment later, a bag that is opened, showing an absolutely massive interior.

I look to the final section at the bottom.

"Purchasable Settings."

The image is of someone staring at an open 'Dice' screen.

I shake my head and look up to the 'Character Advancement part.'

'Character Alteration.'

Nothing happens for a moment, but eventually the section glows blue and expands, shoving the other two parts out of the way and opening a small search bar.

I go back and look up the price of my next level... and ohoho yeah... I might be in a bit of a pickle... I COULD have bought a level up... but y'know, a stat of two over here... literally two points lower and I would be a literal potato.

I need one hundred Electrum to become a level two. Which means I need to survive for... roughly a little under three years... or complete a quest of some sort.

I get off the alter and smile slowly. 'Alright. Let's do this.'

I close the shop screen as I pat my body down, my new child form lacks any muscle, but I have a dirty long sleeve shirt and long torn pants.

A Quest has been received:

I let out a quiet sigh and slowly creep forwards. I peer out of the alleyway.

Nothing immediately out of the ordinary...

A park is directly across the road from where I am crouching

'I can't help but notice I have no starting gear...'

Mundane non-alchemical items under 50 Gp are on the house! You can take them all for free! Just keep in mind you have a slight cooldown. Try not to crash the economy!

Thanks, System.

I open the shop once more and purchase myself some armor and a small knife... luckily, since the total price isn't over fifty gold, I can purchase both with no problem! Additionally, I got myself a backpack, some rations, a filled water flask, and some marbles you can really get A LOT of shit for fifty gold I've come to realize.

I shift the backpack and slowly walk outside, fastening my cloak around shoulders to hide my armor and disappear into the par-

I turn my head and see a suited man facing down a large crab monster thing...

The thing is, the top half is the only thing that's a crab... the lower half is that of a human, and is wearing nothing but underwear.

'oh son of a bitch...'

A Quest has been completed:
Where in the worlds am I?
Find out what Universe you are currently in: [x]
Rewards: 100 Electrum

One punch man...

I duck behind a nearby bush and peek out.

'well, fuck. Why'd it have to be this universe.'

I silently level up as I spectate Saitama's little squabble with Crablante... after all, if I stop him from fighting here... who's to say that Saitama will become a hero in the future, and, well, even with how overpowered he is, iiii don't know if I would be able to take his place in the events to come... and well, the planet would probably get wiped out at Boros if he wasn't a hero so... I might as well let him do this on his own.

I wince at the absolute shower of gore as Saitama brutally tears the crab's eye out, followed shortly by his brain and internal organs which shoot out like they are some sort of gory whipped cream can.

I shiver in disgust and turn away, before slowly meandering into the distance.

There's a little something strange about my body...

I'm fast...

Like, horrifyingly fast...

I'm able to CASUALLY run at more than one hundred feet a second... with only TWENTY dex, I am reaching speeds nearing one hundred and FIFTY miles per hour... far surpassing it when I activate my wind stride ability...

The system says it adds 'Plus ten' to my movement speed, however, my base movement speed is thirty feet in a 'move action'… or it would be if this was a game... so what 'Wind Stride' does, is simply multiply my speed by one third. Pushing my one hundred and thirty miles per hour or so speed into the one hundred and seventy range.

I stretch and let out a yawn as my shoulders slump, I wipe my eyes and reach down to my bedroll and quickly roll it up and put it in my backpack.

I quickly attach my weapon to my waist and smile as I tilt my head to the left and the right, gaining a satisfying crack from each direction.

My new body is Young... but not ridiculously so... if i had to put an age on myself, I'd place myself anywhere from the eleven to fifteen range... I'm not exactly... sure? Who really cares, to be honest. I'll be big enough by the time Canon comes around.

I look over my little camping sight, nodding once as I realize I haven't left anything behind, and turn to leave my temporary home.

It has been about four months since I have arrived to this world... it's... neat...

I haven't gotten into any fights quite yet; I am sort of playing it slow... who knows when the average monster turns out to be a threat level dragon.

I step out of the alleyway and let out a hum as I look left and right.

*CRASH*

"…" I am silent as I hear screaming in the distance.

'Should I?'

I glance towards a quest I have had for a while.

Slay your first monster:
Slay a Monster of 'Threat Level Wolf' or higher. [ ]
Reward: 250 Electrum, More Rewards if the monster is stronger than a 'Threat Level: Wolf.'

A 'Wolf' is actually sort of a tall order for me... according to the series, a Threat Level wolf requires three C class heroes to defeat it... admittedly, that number is probably a little overkill, but in the series, even a 'Threat Level Wolf' monster could have strength five times that of an average man.

I bite my lip and look towards the smoke billowing out from behind a building.

'fuck it.'

I turn and rush towards the fire, I reach the corner of the block quickly, and look around the corner to see a large... Doughnut... guy?

Its roughly six feet tall, a large hoop body with pink glaze and rainbow sprinkles, his arms are fairly muscular and each of his knuckles are tipped with rainbow sprinkles.

"SPRINKLE SLAM!"

He punches a nearby light pole, denting it and causing it to bend slightly.

He grabs onto it and proceeds to try and rip it from the ground, he more or less succeeds, but instead of wielding it like a weapon like he probably hoped, he just shoved it over.

"I AM DOUGHNUT MAN! SON OF DONUT MAN! FOR FAR TOO LONG YOU FILTHY HUMANS HAVE BEEN FEASTING UPON OUR LIKENESS BUT THAT ENDS TODAY!"

He picks up a fairly large hunk of rubble off the ground, about fist sized, and hurls it at a building, cracking the brick wall ever so slightly.

'Well, if you insist doughnut man... I'll kill you.'

I grab the hilt of my weapon, shield hanging at the bottom of my backpack and lunge forwards with a small grin.

This guy doesn't look all that strong. So it should be an easy kill.

He turns to face me, causing me to nearly burst out laughing as two large veiny eyes stare at me, a mouth directly in between them.

"DIIIIIE!"

My eyes narrow as he swings a punch down at me, I smirk as I barely twist around the blow, the scent of smoke and pure sugar enters my nose as I unsheathe my blade.

'an opening.'

The blade ignites as it rockets up towards the donut humanoid, my attack connects...

*SLASH*

I roll to a halt behind the doughnut, my miniature katana- a wakizashi, really- is coated in red... jam? Blood? One of the two definitely.

The doughnut lets out a gurgle as he is bisected hip to shoulder, a fountain of red goop spraying from him as he slowly slides to the left, life leaving his strange balloon-like eyes and flops to the pavement in two halves.

A quest has been completed:

Slay your first monster:
Slay a Monster of 'Threat Level Wolf' or higher. [x]
Reward: 250 Electrum.

I flick my blade, sending the blood splatter cascading off the tip and painting the pavement around me in the sticky jam-like substance, and re sheath my blade with a slow nod.

A quest has been received:

Wrath of the donut lord.
Defeat 'Threat Level Tiger' Donut Man: [ ]
Reward: 500 Electrum.

"MY BOOOOOY! NOOOOOOOOOOO"

My senses scream out to flee as I abruptly jump forwards, clearing ten feet easily as I twist around in the air to see another donut related creature, this one a large donut box with several donuts within.

Oh, I forgot to mention he is roughly twice the size of the last one, coming up to ten feet and is absolutely JACKED, if the last guy was a body builder, this one is a literal wall of muscle.

My hand gently grabs the hilt of my sword as my eyes narrow to slits.

'kill... killl him. Prey. Tough prey. But prey.'

"I'LL END YOU!"

The giant donut man lunges forwards as wind flows around me in a weak twisting motion, he is moving nearly fast enough to be undetectable to my primal senses which have been further enhanced.

I barely duck the giant's haymaker as my sword flashes out, there is a small splash of blood as my slash hits its mark, but instead of a meaty wet thump like I had hoped, I only slashed about half way through the monster's forearm.

My other hand flashes out as I scatter marbles under the giant, he takes a step forward but falls backwards and smashes into the ground, hard.

My blade flashes out as I land a slash on his ankle, then my arm seemingly duplicates as two copies lash out and land two more lashes land on the ankle, however one only appears to leave actual damage as the other just leaves just a small line of frost.

The donut man begins standing up as I quickly hop and narrow my eyes, quickly re-sheathing my blade.

'Regain power. Wait.'

I take a deep breath as my eyes scrutinize every minute detail about my opponent, my blade didn't deal as much damage as I had hoped, but his mobility should be lowered, he is still standing over some marbles, and is bleeding heavily.

He gets to a knee and lets out a growl as he forces himself to stand.

'Wait for opening. Slice leg.'

He begins lumbering at me, with a small limp, he tries to simply fall on me instead of punching me because I seem like a little agile bastard, but I blur forwards, to the left and slash the back of his knee as I go past, my blade ignites as I give it a small twist, and with that helpful little fire-

*SLASH-SPRRT-*

I cleave completely through his knee, cutting off his lower leg completely and causing the giant to topple face-first into a car... which explodes.

The gas from the car sprays over the donut box, catching him on fire and causing him to flail about as he lets out shrieks of pain.

I shake off my blade and turn away.

A quest has been completed.

Wrath of the donut lord.
Defeat 'Threat Level Tiger' Donut Man: [x]

'System, buy me a level up, please.'

Are you sure? (Yes/No)

'Yes.'

I got lucky... Donut guy was probably among the lower levels of 'Tiger Threat', even still, my small body allowed me to survive that fight, if I was any slower, I would be nothing more than a smear.

'Hey, System, how much would it be to purchase a feat?'

You have purchased zero feats previously.

The cost to purchase an extra feat is 25 Electrum.

Would you like to purchase an extra feat? (Yes/No)

'Yes.'

I sit down on a nearby bench and begin mentally allocating my new things I have gained from leveling up.

'oh? What's this?'

Deflect Arrows (With Weapon) Cost: 5 Electrum.
Prerequisite: 15 Dex, Weapon focus with a single weapon.
This special variant of Deflect arrows allows you to deflect ranged attacks with a weapon you have the effects of 'Weapon Focus' with.

'fuck it. Yes.'

Would you like to purch-

'Yes.'

That special feat allowed me to get a feat I normally wouldn't be able to, due to requiring the 'improved unarmed strike' feat, but at least now I can stop ranged attacks.

I suppose I should also increase some physical abilities.

I mentally purchase some stat points.

'hm... these are getting really expensive.'

STR: 16 (12)

It took two hundred points to bring my strength up to an sixteen... and to level it up further would take one hundred and sixty per point.

I'm probably going to focus on my dex next. My speed is my greatest advantage.

I slowly stand up and look around, a couple heroes arrive on scene to survey the damage, and probably claim my hard work, the bastards.

The hero association was formed about a month ago... but I'll let it grow a bit more before I reach out to it.

Hell, there isn't even an 'S Class' yet. The best they've got are like five A class heroes, instead of the ridiculous thirty something they had in canon.

I yawn and walk off into the distance.

I look at a newspaper and let out a low hum as I look at the headline.

"Class S formed."

I sway gently in my hammock and let out a small sigh.

Maybe I should try out? Hn.

The picture under the headline is of a question mark, a small green haired girl who looks absolutely bored, and an old man.

I raise an eyebrow and glance to the side. 'how much do I need for level five?'

1400 Electrum.

'and my current electrum iiiiiis-'

849 Electrum.

I shake my head and let out a sigh.

The problem is, I am not strong enough. I'd like to be just slightly tougher before trying out. I'll give it another year.

I take a sip of my juice box. 'nooow I should go kill some more monsters.'

"Hero Entrance Exam Today!"

I shift my backpack and step forwards; I walk through the doors and quickly step over to the counter.

The woman stood behind the counter looks down at me as I look up slightly, she has a slight annoyed expression as she scoffs. "Are you sure you're in the right place, kid?"

I give her a half-lidded stare. "I am."

"Do you even know what it means to be a hero?" She asks.

"I do, and I wish you would stop looking down at me for my size, I have already killed dozens of monsters." I deadpan.

The woman sighs and shakes her head. "Fill out this form please, sir."

"Hm." I hum disinterest as I pull out a pen from my backpack, grab the paper and walk away to a nearby table.

"Look at the runt! Why are they letting kids in here?"

I brush a hand down my grey t-shirt, raising an eyebrow to one of the large buff men surrounding me.

We are stood at a large red line on a large circular track.

"Awww did I hurt your feelings?"

"If you are trying to become a hero just to stroke your fragile ego, or make yourself feel better about your small dick, you should just leave now." I snort as I roll my eyes.

The man who spoke clenches his fists.

"Anyways, you fucking losers can try to keep up if you want." I smirk back at the group.

*BANG*

A gunshot goes off signaling the start of the race, we need to run one mile as fast as we can, and well...

I immediately take off, gaining massive distance as wind swirls around me, I am already half way around the track before even two seconds have passed, by four, I have completed the quarter mile lap, by five, I have lapped almost everyone, by six I have lapped the absolute fastest of the other testers, and by nine I have finished another lap, the next two laps happen in a blur, I slide to a halt, sending pebbles scattering ahead of me as my feet dig into the pavement.

I let out a single breath and smile to the tester who is frozen in shock.

I, some random ass child, had just run a mile in under twenty seconds...

Not all that impressive, by this show's standards... considering Flashy flash can move WELL over the speed of sound, and potentially even light, but it's still pretty damn reasonable.

I put my hands in the pockets of my shorts then simply walk over to the benches lining one of the walls and sit down.

The tester slowly looks over to me, down at their data pad, then shakily pulls out a phone and calls a number.

I wordlessly open the 'Dice System' and open the shop.

'Sneak attack.'

Practiced Sneak Attack:
Gain Sneak Attack as if you were a Rogue of your level.
Cost: 10000 Electrum.

'yeesh, that price is steep... but definitely worth it. I'll pick it up later.'

'Spellcasting'

Natural Spellcaster (Lesser):
You gain the ability to cast spells of a class with a maximum of 4 spell levels such as Assassin, Ranger, or Paladin, as if your caster level was your class level.
Cost: 6000 Electrum

'ooh... that's pretty good... fairly cheap as well, but honestly, if I had that much Electrum, I could probably purchase like three to four levels.'

It also has a regular variant and a 'Greater' version... the regular allows for spellcasting that go up to sixth level, like Bards of that one NPC class, Adept, and the final 'Greater' version allows full spellcasting as if you were a sorcerer, wizard, cleric, or druid... basically anything with nine levels of spells.

Of course, they are all ridiculously priced. The latter being more than double the cost of Practiced Sneak Attack.

Personally, I don't know when exactly I'm going to gain the ability to toss around tens of thousands of electrum, but hey, I can dream, can't I?

A couple of the people on the track complete their first lap, while others- those with at the very least an iota of talent and-slash-or skill are nearing their second.

The man testing everyone walks over to me silently. "Excuse me, if you are done, you can go inside and proceed with the next tests"

"Really? Ok." I shrug as I hop up and with a small burst of speed, blur towards the door, I stop before I reach it, I gently open it and step inside, making my way to the next testing zone.

Another man with a datapad stands before me in a large gym-like room.

"Hn, you are the sub minute mile?" He asks as he briefly looks up.

"Yep." I nod.

"Neat, can you stand over there for me, I need you to do some side to side jumps." The man gestures over to a spot on the floor with a couple of lines with a pen.

I silently walk over and sand in the box, lowering my body slightly as I look to the right and left, my eyes narrow slightly as I hunch over.

"Begin."

I hop to the left, easily clearing ten feet, then I hop to the complete other side, clearing twenty feet in a single bound, these agility-based test should be easy peasy.

I silently look to a piece of paper with a small smile.

Well, that's a little unexpected.

I expected high B, but I got put in low A.

I guess I did extremely well on most of my test, the only shortcomings I had was with strength based tests, as in, weight lifting, and shot put, but even in those I did about average.

Now I have to listen to a damn lecture.

I grab my backpack and quickly walk to one of the many rooms in this massive building, I enter the room and with a small huff, I sit in the back.

I scratch my chin and frown. 'So what do I use the feat on? Fuck it. Improved Initiative.'

I look around the mostly empty room as another person slowly steps inside, it's a woman- like, a really TALL woman, easily like over seven feet tall, she has long orange hair tied up in a scrunchie and wears a sports bra and short shorts, she has a really curvaceous and toned form... she looks over to me and gives me a small wave before sitting down in one of the chairs, she has to shove the chair back to fit comfortably, without her knees smashing into the underside of the table, but she eventually manages it.

A couple minutes pass.

"So..." The woman begins. "My name's Mizuki, what's yours?"

"Nico."

"Well, hello, Nico, what's your rank if you don't mind me asking? I just got B Class rank fifty-six! I used to be an athlete, but I wanted to help people, y'know? So I decided to become a hero!"

"I'm Class A, rank thirty-one." I respond, causing the woman's eyes to widen.

"Wow! At your age?!"

"I'm eighteen." I deadpan at her.

"…"

"…"

A couple more people file in and everything is quiet for a moment.

*CRASH*

The door gains a greenish outline before being brutally ripped off the hinges.

A girl stomps inside, looking absolutely displeased with life in general, her glare goes across the heroes in the room, earning flinches from a majority of them.

She wears a dress with long frayed ends, has short green hair that barely passes her chin and naturally curls upwards, and she has piercing, almost glowing green eyes.

"Hmph." The girl huffs as she looks away and crosses her arms, a piece of chalk gains a green glow and begins slowly floating up to the board, it begins quickly writing something down.

"You. Aren't. Worthy. Of. Being. Heroes."

One of the men stand up at this with a growl. "What the hell do you mean, missy?! I'll have you know that I got myself placed directly into B Clas-"

I gain a smirk moments before he is flung out of the window by a pissed of psychic, shattering it violently as he falls a good twenty feet to the grass yard below.

"Weaklings." The girl scoffs.

The chalk floats upwards and breaks into several pieces before each is flung around the classroom at extremely high speed, one going for each of the remaining people's foreheads.

I unsheathe my blade-

*Clink*

Two small pieces of chalk smash into the wall just behind me, slightly cracking the plaster and leaving two dents.

I take a moment to notice that almost all of the other heroes in the room have been rendered unconscious from that single attack.

'That would have... hurt. Possibly knocking me unconscious as well.'

The girl, raises an eyebrow at me.

The table behind her begins slowly lowering as I re-sheathe my blade, I give the table a half-lidded stare as it rockets right at me.

'well. Fuck.'

I slash forwards, leaning into the attack as my blade catches on fire, my sword effortlessly cleaves through the entire table with zero resistance, the momentum of my blow, aided by a small jump, carries me over the table which would have struck me if I had stayed still.

The table's two halves smash into the wall behind me as it turns my own table into nothing but splinters.

My sword arcs through the air, deflecting a pencil that was hidden behind the table, my blade once more flashes out to cut an eraser in half before I pause.

Floating all around me are hunks of wood, table legs, and splinters from the two tables behind me.

The girl, who is obviously Tatsumaki, the 'Tornado of Terror', the Class S Rank two hero, smirks, an aura of smugness practically radiating off of her as I slowly sheath my sword.

She flicks her finger downwards; the wooden pieces lose their glow and steadily clunk to the floor.

"Hmph." She huffs as she turns away and floats out the broken window.

"…"

She flies off into the distance without uttering another word.

Achievement Get:

Mildly impress the Tornado of Terror:
Bugs! That's what she thinks of A through C class, nothing but little ants who can't hold their own against threats that really matter, yet you have managed to block not one, not two, but three of her tries to put you in your place... maybe you are more of a beetle or cockroach than an ant.
Reward: +1 to your highest stat, +2 to your lowest stat.

'There are achievements as well? Huh... I'll take the free points. That brings my intelligence up to a thirteen and gives me more skill points.'

"…"

"Maybe I can stop being homeless now..." I quietly mutter as I gaze out the broken window.

I hold up one finger and smile at the woman behind the cash register. "Can I get one donut with plain glaze, please?"

"One moment." The woman nods as she grabs a small container and opens it, she grabs a donut from the glass case in front of her and places it inside.

I pull out my wallet.

"That'll be one hundred Yen, sir."

I grab a coin from inside and place it down on the glass. "Thank you."

"Please come again, sir." The woman waves as I take my treat and walk away.

I give her a smile and a nod as I walk out the door.

'ah... peaceful.'

This has been more or less my daily routine for the past month.

Wake up in an actual bed for once, go outside, buy some food I wasn't able to have during my one and a half year-ish homelessness, walk around the city looking for people to save, then go home to my little apartment, take a shower, then go to bed.

That's basically me on a daily basis.

And while some times fun things happen, a threat level wolf, here, saving a cat from a tree there... I can't help but want... more...

I disappear as I quickly lunge across the road, grabbing a child that had walked into the street, I slide to a halt on the other side and sit the boy down at a car blurs through the space he was in moments before, sliding to a halt as the driver slams on the breaks.

"Don't jaywalk, kid." I deadpan down at the boy as their mother quickly rushes over to them and begins fawning over them, absolutely panicked.

I turn and walk away, searching aimlessly for my next destination. 'I wonder what I should have for dinner.'

I hear sudden screams, and I spy a car flipping through the air as it crashes into the intersection.

"…"

'welp.'

I quickly rush forwards, turning the corner and widening my eyes as I spy a giant... rat?

The building behind it has a massive hole in it, all the way up on the third floor, the road is cracked, and this massive mix between broly and a mouse is hurling cars around with one hand.

A quest has been received:

Demon Level: Super Mouse
An experiment gone wrong, Super Mouse was nothing more than a lab rat for most of its life, the many experiments it has endured granting it increased strength, speed, durability, intelligence, and even incredible regeneration abilities. Now it wants nothing more than to take out its frustrations on the human race.
Objectives:
Hold off 'Super Mouse' until a stronger hero can arrive. [ ]

I inwardly cringe as I grab my blade. 'This is going to suck.'

I lunge forwards, the mouse man's beady little eyes locking onto me as I reach twenty feet, he swings the car he is holding around, but I slide under it as he lets go, sending the vehicle crashing behind me with a loud explosion.

His other hand punches downwards, but I stop my sliding momentum and transfer it all upwards as I flip over his head, the large rodent's hand creating a massive crater on the ground as it smashes downwards.

My blade arcs from the sheath as it ignites, the mouse lets out an agonized shriek as my blade cuts through the back of its neck as I hang upside down in the air, I sheath my blade as I land on my feet, facing away from the large mouse the mouse's wound flops together and begins slowly healing as it falls forwards, arms hanging limply as I swing my blade down at it again, sending a small bead of fire arcing from the tip, the bead shoots from my blade into the rat's spine, creating a small explosion as its hands lash out, stopping it from falling face first into the pavement.

It gets to its feet and whirls around, trying to backhand my head off, but I lower my body, causing the attack to simply pass over my head.

Its regeneration is no joke considering I had just severed its spine with my first slash... but it isn't fully healed... there is still quite a bit of damage to it.

My blade arcs out at the limb as I hop backwards, a few of the rat's fingers are cleaved off by the burning blade.

The rat's muscles bulge, veins throbbing.

"I'LL FUCKING KILL YOUUUUUU!" It roars, mouth full of shark-like teeth as with another thrust of my katana a bead of fire smacks into its chest and expands violently, charring the monster's flesh.

My eyes widen as its speed increases, I am forced to tilt my body ninety degrees backwards to avoid the attack from the roid mouse.

I flip away as a clenched fist comes down where my torso was moments before.

The rat is immediately on me again, I barely redirect an attack with a slash, then turn into nothing but a writhing mass of shadows and disappear, only to immediately reappear behind the raging experiment, unsheathing my blade once more as I land another absolutely brutal flaming slash on its back.

It whirls around just as I evaporate into shadows, I reappear thirty feet to the left, pointing my blade at 'Super Mouse's side, with a simple sword thrust, I send another bead of fire rocketing forwards, this one slams into the side of his head, creating a rattling boom as it expands into a one-foot-wide fireball that is quickly snuffed out.

The monster lets out a shriek of pain as it reaches down and picks up a large hunk of pavement and hurls it at me, but with a flash of my blade I deflect the attack to the side and respond with a second bead of fire, this time the rodent leaps over it as it rushes for me.

"DIIIIIIIIIE!"

I sheath my blade and tilt my body forwards as my foe dives for me, I duck under its reckless attack and land a blow across its chest, creating another spurt of blood as it crashes into the wall that was just behind me, it lets out shrieks of rage as it begins rapidly throwing hunks of rubble at me.

I dodge one and parry another, repeating this process as step around the battlefield, my movements almost a dance, eventually, the rat seems to get desperate as some of its attacks aren't even getting slightly close any more, it rushes out of the building with a shriek of rage. "I'M INVINCIBLE! YOU CAN'T KILL MEEEEE!"

Its wounds are sort of healed... but it looks like some of it is sticking... possibly some of the fire damage.

My eyes slowly glance towards its hand, which is still missing the index and middle fingers.

Oh.

The rodent's speed increases once more as its hand become nothing more than a blur.

'SHIT!'

I hop back, easily clearing twenty feet as the rat reappears in front of me, my blade flashes through the air, slicing its jugular and sending a gout of blood to the side, but...

*CRACK*

Its fist makes contact with my chest, my bones crack, my ribs break, the air is knocked out my lungs as I let out a pained wheeze as my collarbone snaps.

I am rocketed away, smashing into the brick wall of the building across the street, folding the bricks inwards, blood seeps from my mouth as my arm breaks, my world is nothing but pain as the back of my head smashes into the brick wall behind me.

I let out a pained growl as the rat cackles. "KYAHAHAHAHAHHA! I WIIIIIN YOU ARE ALL GOING TO DIE FILTHY HUMANS!"

Blood flows out of the corners of my mouth as another trails downwards from my forehead, my right arm is twisted and mangled, as I tightly grip my weapon, every breath I take causing shivers of pain throughout my body.

Hp: 2/38

I refuse.

I am going to kill this thing.

I wordlessly buy two stat points, then use the level four attribute point I was saving for later.

I lift my blade, thrusting it forwards, sending a flickering ball of fire crashing into the side of the rat's head, causing it to let out another shriek of agony and snap its head over to look at me. "I'm not dead... not by a long shot."

Pov: ?

Hn? What's this?

A man silently walks over to a massive crowd of people, they are all held back by several police cruisers and a couple C rank heroes, the man quietly chews on the strand of grass poking out of his mouth as he looks past the crowd, an explosion rips through the destroyed street as a large rat crashes into the intersection, it looks worse for wear, its skin pulses as a large gash on its neck heals, it has lost some fingers on its right hand, plus its tail has been cut off about half way down.

The rat gets to his feet and swings behind him as a new figure blurs into him, a large gash appears on the rat's side as it lets out a growl. "STAND STILL AND LET ME KILL YOU!"

Its hands smash into the ground as another gash appears on its neck, then another on the other side.

Judging by the speed and the regeneration, that's threat level demon at the very least.

The man frowns as he watches a small boy run about, sword arcing through the monsters body as it ignites here and there...

"Using friction to ignite the blade? Hn. That's an interesting technique." The man mutters as he cups his chin.

There is a problem, though.

The boy looks half dead and mangled.

He begins rapidly thrusting the blade forwards in a stabbing motion as dozens of small balls of fire rocket from the tip and pelt the regenerating rodent.

Another interesting blade technique, it seems to take the concept of a simple air slash and combine it with the friction of his earlier attack, fairly dangerous... did this brat really come up with that on his own?

They expand on contact, roasting its skin and causing the rat to let out shrieks of agony as it turns away and tries to rush down the street back the way it came, it seems to spy a manhole cover and dives for it, but before it can make it its foot is cleaved off at the ankle, it falls forwards as the boy slides to a halt, chipped and cracked blade sliding into a sheath as he lowers his body, entering some sort of trance as his eyes narrow.

The man raises an eyebrow, to do that with one arm takes surprising dexterity.

The rat's ankle wound heals over, but it doesn't regenerate his foot.

A smirk appears on the man's face. "Ah. I see."

He's planning on beheading it with this next strike.

The blade explodes from the sheath, igniting violently as the blade swipes through the air, it meets the rat's throat and-

There is a large shower of blood as the blade snaps, the monster's head flips through the air as the rest of its body smashes into the ground inches from the manhole cover, the severed head rolls to a stop as the body falls limp

The boy looks towards his broken blade, a frown on his face as he falls forwards- only to take a step and stop himself before he faceplants, spitting up a frankly disturbing amount of blood.

"What the fuck are you looking at?" He growls over to the crowd... moments later they all let out rigorous cheers as he turns away and puts his weapon away, he slowly begins stumbling away as Hero association personnel begin slowly entering the scene. Several crowd around him, then begin to coerce him into getting medical attention, as it looked like he was just going to walk away, nearly dead on his feet.

The man smirks.

"Well now... I'm impressed, kid." He mutters quietly.

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

I crack open my eyes and glare at the heart monitor loudly beeping every half a second or so.

I sit up slowly and look down, my right arm is in a thick cast, dozens of bandages are wrapped around my torso to keep me in place... my body aches, but it is considerably better than it was.

Who knows how long it has been since I got here. A day? Two days? A week? I passed out shortly after my fight due to the pain.

I look to the several screens floating around me, the first and foremost, my quest.

A quest has been completed:

Demon Level: Super Mouse
An experiment gone wrong, Super Mouse was nothing more than a lab rat for most of its life, the many experiments it has endured granting it increased strength, speed, durability, intelligence, and even incredible regeneration abilities. Now it wants nothing more than to take out its frustrations on the human race.

S Class in the making:

'so... that allows me to die at negative twenty-five, right?'

I blink as I spy another screen in the distance. 'hn? What's that?'

Achievement Get:

Impress Atomic Samurai:
It's not every day you see a brat kill a demon level threat, additionally, his swordsmanship isn't that bad... he has a few interesting techniques. Was he taught or did he come up with it on his own? Whichever it is, he definitely has potential.
Rewards: Iaijutsu Focus is always treated as a 'Class Skill', 1 random ability of the 'Iaijutsu Master' prestige class.

Randomizing Ability, excluding 'Bonus Feats' or abilities you may already have.

A roulette wheel appears in front of me then rapidly spins.

My eyes widen. This prestige class is really good. If I remember correctly, the effects range from massively increasing my damage, and gaining my intelligence stat to my armor class.

It eventually comes to a stop.

One Strike Two Cuts:
An iaijutsu master can make two attacks with a katana as a standard action. This means they can strike twice and move in the same round, or attack twice in the strike phase of an iaijutsu duel.

Damn... I actually wanted one of the weaker abilities that allowed me to add my charisma modifier to every. Single. Dice. of iaijutsu strike. But this is better than most of the other skills. I wonder how it'll work here instead of in the game, because 'rounds' don't exist here.

I shake my head and quickly look at my health.

Hp: 32/43

'that's enough.'

I absolutely cannot STAND needles.

I briefly look around, spying a pair of scissors sat on the table to the left of my hospital bed.

My hands coil around it as I slowly look down it.

'This... should be good enough.'

I open the scissors and glare at my cast, the scissors drift to my waist for a moment before they blur outwards.

*CRACK*

My cast splits open as two large groves appear in it creating a weakened portion about an inch wide.

I put the scissors down and tear off the cast, clenching my fist with a small frown, there is a massive bruise on my arm, but I can move my hand with only minor pain.

I pull out a roll of bandages from behind me- slipping my hand into the shop, and tug free the IV drip piercing the bend in my elbow, then as I begin to bleed I wrap the small pinprick up and let out a long sigh, with a fling, I take off my hospital gown and put on a pair of jeans I grabbed from the shop, by this point the heart monitor begins flatlining as my finger is freed from the clamp.

I put on a form-fitting dress shirt and glance to the dozens of objects on the table beside me. Dozens of cards, a fruit basket, more cards...

I wordlessly reach out and grab a card and begin reading.

*CRASH*

I glance over to the door as it is thrown open, several nurses and doctors flood into the room, only to freeze as they notice me sitting on the bed.

"What?" I ask with a half-lidded expression.

I glance around the dark room with a bored frown.

Eventually a dark-haired man walks in, he is slightly scruffy looking, and has a couple stray hairs across his chin, he looks... really tired.

"So..." he begins slowly as he takes a sip of his drink. "Last Tuesday, you engaged an experiment that had escaped from a nearby lab and began to wreak havoc across J city. It self-proclaimed itself as 'Super Mouse', correct?"

I nod once causing the man to let out a low hum and look over the report. "I see. Taking into account the durability of its skin, the strength and speed of its bulky body, and it's regeneration factor, our labs have deemed this a threat of 'Threat Level Demon'… this monster could have caused incredible damage to the surrounding areas and dozens of lives could have been lost."

The man bows his head. "I speak for the entirety of the hero association when I say... thank you."

I scratch the side of my head. "It was just a threat level demon... why are we having this conversation when I could be out doing something productive?"

"…"

"You have been promoted to A Class Rank Five, for your actions, additionally, the hero association has decided your hero name."

"Oh?" I ask as I raise an eyebrow. "What is it?"

"The Infernal Blade."

'well, now... that fits.'

*This is where I stopped Writing*

Ah well, here's another variant of the last chapter's fic, Normally I would have written a little more on this, but hey, another chapter of Badass' quest was ready so I thought 'eh, I sort of feel like a double upload today'.

There really should be more fics for One Punch Man, and after I'm finished with Badass' quest this has a real chance of being made.

Anyways, The next thing I am considering doing here is adding a couple thousand more words to 'Schnee SI', so if you see this update without gaining another chapter, it's probably that.

See ya!
