Chapter: The writer is forgetful and scatterbrained so Tii'chia is as well or important conversations that occurred at some point

AN: Seriously this conversation should have taken place before the Ice Hunter Arc started. I just derped until now, when I go back to eventually revise the chapters this will be slotted into the appropriate spot. Proper chapter 17 and Thousand Sunny Victory versus Oars coming soon.

Everyone was seated around the table in the kitchen of the Thousand Sunny, enjoying an excellent meal cooked up by Sanji. Luffy was up to his usual antics of trying to steal food from everyone while Merry, Usopp, and Chopper valiantly tried to hold him off with chopsticks and forks. I was watching with amusement when a thought occurred to me, one that I had to know the answer to.

I turned to Robin who was sipping from a teacup, noticing my expression she set it down before politely asking. "Something bothering you Tii'chia?"

"Kind of, I was wondering if you've had the Burning Glaive all of this time how did it effect the events of Alabasta? I know how things went down in the canon timeline that didn't have me mucking about so I just wondered what the differences might be."

The rest of the table had gone quiet while I was asking my question with the majority of the crew looking suddenly thoughtful. "Actually I don't remember you having the glaive at all during that time Robin. I remember seeing you with it after you snuck onto the Merry but not before then. Do any of you guy's recall seeing it?" Nami asked her head tilted to the side as she thought. The rest of the crew that had been there for Alabasta shaking their heads.

"That's because while I was working as Miss All-Sunday I didn't have it with me. I was trying to downplay the threat I could be to Crocodile during that time so I hide it before I first approached him. Moving it as needed so it was usually nearby."

"I guess things basically went as they did in canon then."

"Very likely not that you've fully explained what that means." Robin replied with a slight smile before picking up her teacup once again. Scratching the back of my head I quickly ran through my memory of what I had previously mentioned. While I had gone over the major plot points as a whole a lot of the details had been left out. Probably best to get that all straightened out now.

"Right guess I have skipped over a few things. The major events versus the minor plus the differences of adaptions." That statement got me a rather quizzical look from much of the crew. "What do you mean by adaptions?" Usopp asked, leaning partially over the table as he peered at me.

"So I've explained how in my world this whole thing is a story like one you would read in a book." Nods from everyone around the table at me words. "Well there are technically three versions of the story. Who here has seen a Vis-Snail in action?" Most of the crew had except for Luffy and Chopper. So a quick derailment of the retelling occurred as what a Vis-Snail did was explained.

"Anyways, one version of the story was written down, one was told through a TV show, like a Vis-Snail broadcast, and then the last one was through movies which are even fancier versions of a Vis-Snail broadcast."

"But why would there be different versions if they had the story to work off of?" Nami asked.

I was about to answer when Robin replied. "Because the story isn't complete right?" I responded by wiggling my hand in a so-so gesture." Kind of. The thing is that the writer of the story can only produce so much of it at a time. When the TV show started there was a gap between the start of the story and where it was at the moment. Thing is that for several reasons that aren't super important for you to know, the TV show started to catch up to where the story was being written.

Rather then not releasing the show so the writer could get ahead again, the show created filler arcs. Mini stories within the story that might have happened."

"What about the movies?" Sanji wondered even as he was dumping the empty plates into the sink. "I'm getting there one thing at a time. As an example when you guys returned from Skypiea to the Grand line did you end up in open waters or inside the Navy base G-8?"

"We ended up in G-8 and ended up needing to escape." Nami replied slowly.

"I helped a doctor there get over her fear of blood and saved a lot of lives." Chopper announced, clearly quite proud of what he had managed.

"That means that this story is likely running along the lines of the TV show since G-8 was something added into the story rather then having been written. Now finally I get to the movies much like the filler arcs they weren't in the written story thing is that unlike the show when the movies take place is a bit vague. They're never mentioned in the show itself so it's a guessing game as to when they take place. Usually involving whose joined the crew at the time."

I paused for a moment to dredge up an example from my memory. "Ah here's one after you guys left Alabasta but before you arrived in Jaya did you stop by an island with the Red Arrow pirates and the Lily Carnation?"

Silence fell over the room, several sets of eyes darkening as they recalled those events. Luffy's hands tightening into fists until his knuckles were white. "I can tell that you guys have. That whole thing was one of the movies, one of the few that I remember in fact."

Now that that was all handled I started going over what I could remember of the story starting from the very beginning. The crew correcting me several times where I had either forgotten something or where something different had occurred. It was in this manner that a timeline of events began to take shape.

It was actually useful since there were a couple of notable absences for what I was coming to believe was a mostly anime arc story with some of the movies. The arcs they hadn't been involved in were warship island, goat island, and ocean's dream.

Mentions of Rainbow Mist also yielded no reaction, though that could have been because of the space time fuckery of the mist itself rather then the crew not being involved. I marked it down with a big question mark rather then saying it had happened or not.

The movies on the other hand proved to be more promising. In addition to the 6th movie, baron omatsuri and the secret island, they had gone through the adventures of the first movie, Chopper's kingdom on the island of strange animals, the dead end race, and the giant mechanical soldier of karkuri castle.

Those extra adventures along with Nami's habit of looting anything of value, in addition to the gold that they had gotten from Skypiea, had left them with a sizable amount of cash by the time they reached Water 7. A fact that I had noticed but forgotten to ask about.

It was getting late by the time everything had gotten sorted out and it was with many yawns that those of the crew not involved with the first shift of night watch went to bed. Leaving just me and Merry awake as the sun slowly sank below the horizon.

Merry was at the helm with me sitting nearby on the steps adding today's discoveries to my journal. The gentle breeze making the sails and lines of the ship practically sing. It was a peaceful end to the day with the promise of adventure in the morning.
