...

"Master Turles, Ya be gettin' tha feelin' yer being watched?" Gartoas asked as he looked over his shoulder but saw no one suspicious.

"Yes, Zarbon has been lurking some distance behind us for several hours now," Turles stated coolly.

"Tha bloomin peacock! E'll be wantin ta be carryin' tales back ta Frieza bout yer doins most likely, Commander,' 'he Kardangan snorted.

"True. So why don't we give him some interesting tales?" the dark-skinned Saiyan said with an evil smile...

…..

"Daiz was instructed to leave Gohan waiting for us at the Primnel" Turles declared.

"AH! Lookin' ford ta a right fine meal ta be havin there' Gartoas agreed heartily.

"It will do for now," the spiky- haired Saiyan said flatly.

'Jus great! E's inna mood an Ahm stuck wi im today!' the bearded pirate thought.

….

Zarbon was becoming quite frustrated as he dogged the steps of the notorious pirate known as Turles. When was he going to do something worth reporting to Frieza? How he wished the Ice-jn had assigned someone else to traipse after the elusive Saiyan.

'Maybe I never should have informed Frieza of Turles's presence here' Frieza's right hand man thought to himself.

The teal-skinned changeling noted with some relief that Turles and the over-sized oaf with him had entered what seemed to be an eating establishment of respectable standing. He was quite famished after tracking that idiot Saiyan and his brutish companion for hours.

….

Zarbon almost choked on the morsel of food he was enjoying as he caught sight of a child that was sitting with Turles. The male child was practically an exact replica of the arrogant pirate. And most telling of all, the little red and gold armored youngster had a furry brownish-black tail wrapped around his small waist!

One of the eatery's green-skinned blue-haired serving girls walked over to Turles's table and commented on the boy's appearance.

"That's a fine young man you have there! He looks so much like you! He is part Saiyan right?"

"Indeed, He is of Saiyan blood. At least on his father's side," Turles replied as he ruffled Gohan's hair.

'Father? That filthy monkey has FATHERED a child? Frieza will certainly want to be informed of this' Zarbon thought.

"I understand that the Saiyans are practically extinct," another serving girl cut in as she began to clear away the empty plates from the pirate crew's table.

"Many believe that to be so but that's only because of ignorance. There's a rather large thriving Saiyan colony on Arnageres," the Saiyan pirate commander informed her.

"Sooo, there's more just like you?" one of the servers simpered as she batted her eyelashes at Turles.

"No, there's NO ONE just like me," the onyx-eyed Saiyan answered with a flirtatious wink and a sly smile.

"Thank Kami fer that," Garoas whispered under his breath.

"WHAT WAS THAT?" Turles growled.

"Nothin' nothin' a'all, Master Turles," the Kardanagan pirate spoke up quickly.

"I thought so!" Turles hissed.

Zarbon's sat in stunned silence. There was a colony? A Saiyan colony!

Frieza would be none too amused to find that he had failed in wiping the Saiyan race from existence. He would have to report this to Frieza immediately! But first he was going to enjoy the luscious dessert he had ordered.

Zarbon was just finishing the last delectable bite when he found himself looking into the smirking face of the Saiyan known as Turles.

"Zarbon! It was such a relief to discover your presence here!" the dusky-hued being affirmed.

"WHAT?" the confused member of Frieza's forces questioned.

"Yes, I was quite concerned that the horrendous odor in this establishment was coming from the kitchen. Then I realized….. it was simply YOUR unique stench!" Turles chortled.

Gartoas and Gohan could barely hold back their snickers at the callous remark.

The indignant teal-skinned general balled up his fists in outrage but he knew Frieza had warned him not to cause undue attention to himself on this planet.

"Get away from me, Turles! I don't have time for your foolishness!" Zarbon barked.

"I suppose not. DO go easy on the sweets, Zarbon. You DON'T want to lose your girlish figure," Turles taunted.

The changeling seethed inwardly as the Saiyan pirate sauntered off with his companions trailing behind him. Zarbon had gotten a much closer look at the child accompanying Turles. There was no doubt in his mind that the brat was indeed the spawn of that pirate from Hell. It would be best that the little beast was exterminated before he could follow in his sire's footsteps.

"Master Turles, Where'd Daiz an tha wen…uh….Zailora be getting off ta?" Gartoas asked. He'd almost slipped. Turles didn't approve of the use of 'wench' to describe the lone female in his crew.

"They have their own assignment," Turles answered. He gave no further information.

'An Ah'll bet that's workin jus fine fer Daiz' the Kardanagan mused.

….

"The food's pretty good but I don't see why you were so excited about coming here, Daiz. This place isn't that special," Zailora said as she leaned forward to catch the male Kabochan's attention.

The former prince had a mischievous smile on his face but he said not a word.

"Well? I'm waiting! What's so spectacular about it?"

"Look down at the floor," Daiz said.

"The floor? Seriously? Am I going to be fascinated by the floor tiles?" Zailora asked sarcastically.

"Humor me. Just look at the floor!" the dark green-haired male urged.

The female pirate gave him a disdainful look before she finally cast her glance to the floor at her feet. She gave a squeal of delight at her discovery…

The floor was made of an entirely clear substance. Scores of varieties of colorful fish flitted about beneath her boots. Multi-colored reefs of coral and feather-like sea grasses completed the stunning view. It seemed as if a small portion of an ocean had been stolen away and simply placed there for the amusement of the restaurant's patrons.

"I've never seen anything like this! How is this even possible? " Zailora exclaimed.

Daiz just shrugged his shoulders," don't have an inkling of as to how all this is set up. I just knew about it and I thought you'd enjoy seeing it."

"It's wonderful! Thank you! You're very thoughtful," Daiz."

Daiz reached over their table for a small jar of seasoning. His hand lightly brushed over hers for a split second. Was that a chance encounter or was it an intended caress?

"We'd better get the supplies Turles ordered us to procure," Zailora said as she slipped from her chair.

"We have plenty of time for that. Besides, the dessert menu here is to die for," her male counterpart insisted.

"In that case why not? There's certainly a lovely sight to enjoy," Zailora sighed.

"There certainly is," Daiz affirmed.

The female Kabochan's eyes widened at her companion's remark. Somehow she was certain that he wasn't commenting on the display at their feet…..

….

When Zailora returned to Turles's ship, she grabbed at the right side of her neck as a painful spasm rippled through the muscles. Suddenly a strong hand clasped onto her left shoulder while another skillfully massaged the cramp away. Such powerful but gentle fingers!

"Uhmm, that's SO much better! You're really good at this!" the female pirate purred.

Zailora turned around expecting to see the twinkling gray eyes and bright smile of Daiz.

Instead she found herself staring directly into the dark obsidian eyes of...Turles! He wore an amused expression.

Zailora's face flushed with pure embarrassment, color flooding her cheeks.

Why couldn't she just disappear?

"M-Master Turles!" the dark green-haired woman stammered in surprise.

"Just returning the favor," Turles declared with a smirk.

"I-I have something to do! Excuse me, Commander!" the only female crew member of Turles's ship choked out as she raced from the bridge area.

Daiz had watched with a darkened gaze.

Now what the Hell was that about?

Zarbon knelt before the purplish-pink being that observed him with a rather bored expression until he was given permission to rise to his feet.

"Well, Did you discover anything of importance, Zarbon?"

"Yes, Indeed I have, Lord Frieza," the emerald-haired general answered.

"OUT WITH IT THEN! I don't have all day!" the Ice-Jin snapped.

"Of course, Lord Frieza," Zarbon spoke up quickly. He shot a glare at the smirking pink mass that was Dodoria.

"I have discovered that there are numerous Saiyans that survived the destruction of planet Vegeta-sei"

"WHAT?" Frieza and Dodoria echoed.

"That's impossible! My team and I scoured the galaxy. We exterminated all of them!" Dodoria protested.

"Silence, Dodoria! You know full well that I permitted Prince Vegeta and his two idiots to survive. And of course there's that thorn in my side-Turles! You are certain of the existence of this 'colony' Zarbon?"

"Yes and I know the precise location of these said Saiyans," Zarbon said smugly.

"WHERE ARE THEY?" Frieza roared.

"There is a large thriving colony of Saiyans on planet Arnageres. Shall I order a team to dispose of them immediately, Lord Frieza?"

The Ice-tyrant's jaw dropped at the changeling's words.

"Planet Arnageres?"

"Yes, my Lord."

A long sigh came from the youngest son of King Cold. He shook his head and pinched the bridge of his nose before regarding Zarbon once more.

An uneasy feeling came over Zarbon as he noticed the fierce scowl that suddenly appeared on Frieza's countenance. Not to mention the gleeful expression on the big pink blob's face.

"Is this your idea of a joke, Zarbon? I find NOTHING amusing about it!" the Lizard-lord bellowed. "The entire surface planet of Arnageres was destroyed when its four suns erupted in a freak electrical storm…ten years ago!"

The changeling's face flushed with embarrassment. That damned simian fiend had set him up!

"And where might you have obtained your useless information?" Frieza pressed.

"I overheard a conversation from Turles, Lord Frieza," Zarbon said wearily.

He glowered at the snickering Dodoria.

"No doubt he was aware of your presence and he took advantage of your ignorance" the Ice-jin huffed.

"There is something I am sure will interest you, Lord Frieza," Zarbon insisted.

"And what pray tell is that?' Frieza questioned. Sarcasm was evident in his tone.

"Turles has apparently fathered a child."

"A SAIYAN CHILD?" Frieza gasped.

"Yes, my Lord. The brat is a mirror image of his sire, there can be no question of his parentage. He even possesses that disgusting tail!"

Zarbon was quite confident in his assumption. Turles had all but announced his relationship with his small doppleganger.

'The last thing I need is another Turles! You are to destroy that misbegotten brat on sight, Zarbon."

"Yes, of course, Lord Frieza."

A cruel smile crossed Zarbon's handsome face. Surely it would grieve Turles to lose that horrid little half-breed. And he would enjoy every moment of inflicting that pain…

Zailora had just purchased her drink when a massive life-form shoved her roughly causing her to spill the entire contents on the tavern floor.

"Clumsy Trollop! Watch where yer goin'!" the beefy lavender- skinned crustacean huffed.

Daiz leapt to his feet intent on coming to her defense.

"Stand down, Daiz " Turles ordered.

"But Commander, he's four times her size!" the Kabochan pirate protested.

"Size is no guarantee of success. Let's see what she can do" Turles insisted.

Daiz grit his teeth. He was quite concerned about the huge clawed appendages the lobster-like being swung in Zailora's direction.

"I'm gonna crush your bones into jelly!"

"Maybe, maybe not," Zailora snorted as she sank into a defensive stance.

The monstrous denizen of the Turnarian water-world lumbered forward. A series of quick hand-springs took the dark green-haired female out of harm's way just as one of the great claws smashed into the floor.

"Huh, She's light on er feet. Surprisin' er big mouth's not weighin' er down!" Gartoas commented.

"You're one to talk! The whole North Sector could probably fit in that black hole of yours," Daiz shot back.

Turles ignored the quarreling male members of his crew. His attention was focused on the female and her opponent.

A swift knife-hand strike resulted in one of the Turnarian's eye-stalks being severed at its base.

"Ya damned Witch! YA BLINDED ME!" the crustacean roared.

Now, now I'm not finished just yet!" Zailora taunted as she dropped to the floor just missing another near lethal blow from the creature's claws.

The female pirate grabbed one of the large heavy barrels standing at the end of the tavern's long bar. She lifted it effortlessly and slammed it down. The lobster-being's left claw was shattered. He collapsed to the floor. A pool of blood was slowly forming beneath him.

"Sorry about the mess!" Zailora tossed a bag of zeni to the small purple feline that tended the bar.

As she passed the unconscious crustacean. The Kabochan noticed some of the pink meaty flesh of its claw had been exposed. She just couldn't resist. Zailora pulled out a fistful of the meat and popped it into her mouth.

"Not bad at all!"

Daiz and Gartoas cringed at her action but Turles snickered.

"Well done!" the Saiyan pirate commander commented as Zailora walked back to her crew-mates' table.

"Uggh! Guess Ah'll ave ta be payin off muh bets!" Gartoas groaned.

"WHAT? You were betting against me?" Zailora schreeched.

"So? Tha odds were gainst ya!" the burly bearded pirate scoffed.

Zailora sucked in her breath at the genuine smile Turles was giving her. He was so handsome when he really smiled.

"Let's get you another drink to celebrate!" Daiz offered. He grabbed her arm and pulled her after him.

He hadn't liked the admiring glance Turles gave Zailora just now…..
