…..

"Am I supposed to be alarmed? You're a mere Kabochan, a weak being from a pathetically primitive planet. It deserved to be eradicated. For some reason you worms are popping up to annoy your betters all of a sudden. Do stop wasting my time and crawl back to where you came from," Zarbon declared with a dismissive wave.

"You killed my Daiz and I demand your life in return!" Zailora snapped.

Frieza's right hand man placed his chin on his hand as if he were deep in thought," Daiz? Hmm, where have I heard that name before….oh yes! He was another worthless Kabochan and one of Turles's miscreants. Have you taken hisplace now licking that filthy ape's boots?"

Zailora almost giggled at the look of utter shock that came over Zarbon's face as he doubled over from the impact of her fist. His expression rapidly changed to register absolute fury.

How had she moved so fast? How had she been able to strike him at all?

The emerald-haired warrior fired a blast but the obstinate female phased away before it could cause any damage.

Zarbon 's eyes went wide in disbelief as a boot slammed into his chin. He felt a tug at the top of his skull and then a sharp pain. Whirling about, he howled with outrage as he took in the sight of the Kabochan woman gaily waving a handful of his luxurious strands about.

It was Zailora's turn to grimace in pain when Zarbon's fist snapped her head back and sent her flying into a small wooden structure. She fought to avoid crying out in pain as Frieza's officer pulled her up out of the wreckage by her own hair.

"Did you really think you had a chance against me?" Zarbon mocked as he cruelly dangled her above the planet's surface.

"Time will tell," the she-pirate quipped as she reached out and raked her sharp fingernails across the startled general's face.

"HOW DARE YOU?" Zarbon exploded.

"You should thank me. That's actually an improvement to your ugly face!" the nobleman's daughter crowed as she sped away.

The irate warrior spouted off a series of epithets as droplets of blood trickled down his face. Zailora threw up her hands to block a sphere of orange energy as the furious minion of Frieza attempted to dispatch her with his elegant blaster.

The sound of splintering bones reached her ears as the teal-skinned changeling's fist connected with her right cheekbone a second later.

"What? No witty remark?" Zarbon taunted.

A swift knee to his groin incapacitated the amber-eyed male but momentarily. The single female member of Turles's crew found herself doing her best to block a flurry of blasts that came in rapid succession.

'He plans on making me too tired to fight' Zailora thought ruefully.

Zarbon suddenly phased in behind her and seized her around the waist. He flew at a dangerous speed towards the planet's surface fully intending to drive her into the ground. Zailora tried to ram her head into his chin but he forced her head down with one large hand and continued his deadly descent.

With no other option available, the dark green-haired female ignored her swollen throbbing cheek and sank her teeth into the teal-skinned arm that had her pinned.

"You'll pay for that! You little bi…"

Zarbon's words were cut off as in mid-flight the Kabochan woman employed the Kill-Driver which managed to considerably injure the now livid changeling.

'I will NOT lower myself to transform to battle a mere female!' the angry general raged inwardly, 'I CAN and WILL exterminate this little pest!'

The Ice-jin's loyal soldier tore away his ruined pale blue cape and glowered at the damage to his armor which had allowed several wounds to be inflicted on his person.

Zailora fought to block the blows that rained down on her from the enraged changeling. Several had managed to land causing serious injury to the female pirate…..

…..

Gohan nervously stared at the bridge computer on Turles's ship. Not one communication had been received from Zailora. The little demi-Saiyan feared the worst. Although she had trained with Turles, Gohan knew firsthand how powerful Zarbon could be. His small heart still ached from the loss of Daiz. He fervently hoped he would not lose the female pirate as well.

Gartoas entered the room," Master Turles be wantin' ya in tha trainin' room, Brat."

"Thanks!"

Gohan hurried along grateful for something to occupy his thoughts than concern for his teammate.

…..

Upon entering the training room, the young half-Saiyan knew he was to begin warming up without having to be instructed to do so. Several thoughts came to his mind as he stretched his muscles.

"Master Turles, what happens when we die?" Gohan asked.

"It is my understanding that we are judged by King Yemma and sent to where we will spend eternity," the Saiyan pirate said. Hopefully that would be enough to satisfy the inquisitive youngster.

"Commander, who's King Yemma?" the little half-blood pressed.

"He is the judge of those who have passed on," Turles answered irritably not offering any further explanation. He initiated a spar with the seven-year-old in hopes of ending the conversation.

"I hope Daiz got sent somewhere nice," Gohan mused as he smoothly blocked the first kick Turles aimed at him.

The dark-skinned Saiyan rolled his eyes at that notion. With the former royal's history? Not likely! But he kept his thoughts to himself.

"Indeed," Turles snorted for Gohan's benefit.

Gohan skillfully prevented any injury to himself from the succession of punches the pirate commander flung in his direction much to the Saiyan's approval.

"Master Turles?"

"WHAT?" Turles snapped. He was in no mood for more questions on the matter.

"I….I hope if something ever happens to you..I hope you get sent somewhere nice," Gohan declared.

Gartoas suddenly went into a fit of coughing, the black and silver armored Saiyan gave him a sour look.

"Dare to dream, Gohan," Turles responded.

The son of Goku was confused by the response but he was too busy scrambling to evade the ki blasts Turles was firing at him to question it.

Daiz shook his head as Karzir invited him to share the evening meal with him and his mate. He was too furious to even consider consuming anything at all. After spending an entire day witnessing the abuse that was heaped on one completely undeserving of it, the Kabochan was beside himself at being made powerless to make it stop.

The commander of the guards sighed as he knew what troubled his guest," Daiz, the gathering season ends in three days, Markelia will be too busy with preparations for her bonding ceremony to be made to work outdoors. You will not have to see her."

"Will Markelia be treated any better?" Daiz asked bitterly.

"That will not be your concern, my friend," Karzir answered as he shrugged his muscular shoulders.

The words of Cronos to his granddaughter haunted the former prince."…when the gathering season ends you will be bonded to Agalaki…."

'Kami help her! Markelia's going to be mated to that monster in THREE DAYS!' Daiz thought in horror.

He had hoped to take time to form a plan even though he desperately wanted to get back to Zailora and his former life. Getting back to his Zailora was a most pressing matter. But he owed the young Dayogien female his life and he wasn't going to leave until she had her freedom…

….

Fatigue was beginning to set in and Zailora was well aware of it. Her vision was affected by her swollen cheek which had puffed up considerably. She ached from head to toe and rasped with each breath she took in no doubt to several broken ribs from the blows she'd taken.

"This has to end," she muttered hoarsely.

"My thoughts exactly!" Zarbon growled. "You've been quite a nuisance long enough. It's time to dispose of…"

The teal-skinned changeling sputtered in surprise and pure fury as the Kabochan phased in front of him flinging the contents of a vial of some sort at him. He was practically drenched with the liquid. It smelled like some sort of perfume. What was the obviously crazed woman up to?

"What the Hell…" Zarbon snarled.

"Bergalin rose oil very fragrant…and HIGHLY COMBUSTIBLE!" Zailora interrupted with an evil smirk as she fired a ki blast with her right hand.

Caught completely by surprise, Zarbon vainly threw up his hands and screamed as his entire form enveloped in flames...

...

Several hours had passed and there was still no word from Zailora. Gohan's small shoulders slumped, he fought to keep back the tears that threatened to fall. First Daiz and now Zailora...

The entrance door to Turles's ship suddenly slid open. A battered and bruised but very much alive Zailora limped into the bridge area. Gohan leapt from his seat with a joyful squeal. A groan came from the female pirate as he hugged her. Gartoas came to see what the commotion was about.

"Ah shoudda known ah couldn' git ridda ya!" he huffed but a wide grin was on the Kardanagan's face.

Turles appeared standing before her with his arms folded over his chest. The bearded pirate's eyes had narrowed when he caught sight of the relieved expression that crossed over the Saiyan's face for the briefest second.

"I suppose by your presence here that Zarbon is no more?" Turles demanded.

"Yes, Master Turles..." Zailora slumped towards the floor. To the amazement of his crewmen the Saiyan pirate caught her before she even struck the floor...

..

'Another sleepless night,' Zailora mused as she dabbed at her reddened eyes. At least she had the training room all to herself. Turles kept his brooding to the bridge area. At least he usually did!

Zailora muttered under her breath in irritation. She knew the Saiyan was there before she even saw him.

"Commander, you're not fooling me so you might as well show yourself."

Turles stepped out of the shadows.

"What do you want?" the Kabochan female snapped."

"I should think that would be obvious by now," the Saiyan pirate announced.

"I'm going to ignore that!" the nobleman's daughter huffed.

"Surprised he didn't try to peek at me while I was in the tank!" she mumbled under her breath.

"Who's to say I didn't?"

Zailora jaw dropped, her face flamed immediately.

"You blush so easily, you really should work on that. Although it is quite entertaining," Turles teased.

"Master Turles, have you no shame?" the she-pirate scolded.

"No. None whatsoever," the pirate commander affirmed.

Zailora stared daggers at the living embodiment of arrogance. A mischievous smirk lit his handsome face.

She dropped into a fighting stance which made the Saiyan's smirk turn into a smile of pure wickedness.

"Well? I'm waiting!" Turles chortled.

The irate Kabochan aimed a kick that missed its target.

"Tsk! Your blush isn't all you should be working on. Maybe you need a few days to recover from that little scuffle with Zarbon," the dark-skinned Saiyan needled.

Zailora responded by with a flurry of punches that Turles actually had to make an effort to block. She grew increasingly annoyed as she watched him. The smile never left Turles's face, his tail lashed about...he was enjoying this!

The Saiyan's superior strength soon won out. Once again Zailora found herself pinned against the wall of the training room by the pirate commander. A devilish grin lit his face as he held her helpless with only one hand. He leaned in barely an inch from her face.

"Commander, I'm warning you if you try to kiss me again...I'll...I'll..."

She swallowed hard as Turles slowly traced the index finger of his free hand from her hairline to her chin and cupped it in his calloused hand, "Go on, what are you going to do?"

"I'll bite your lip!" the exasperated female choked out.

"Careful, I'll probably enjoy that," the Saiyan male whispered huskily into her ear.

Zailora gasped as she felt sharp canines come down lightly on her lower lip. She dared not move in case Turles chose to bite down. Tiny goosebumps danced across her flesh as she felt her lip drawn into the Saiyan's mouth. His tongue and teeth toyed with the tender tissue they held causing shivers to cascade up and down her spine. Releasing her lip, he swooped in and stole several kisses that threatened to take her breath away. Before she could gather her wits, she felt soft kisses trailing from the rim of her ear to the hollows of her neck. Turles alternated from feather-light kisses to gentle nips causing the woman to make tiny noises in her throat.

"Daiz!" the female pirate moaned softly.

"Daiz is no longer here" Turles replied as he continued his assault on her senses.

Tears slowly coursed down her face. The pirate commander pushed his forehead into hers forcing her to look into those obsidian eyes. She was stunned to actually see a vestige of pain reflected in them.

"NO amount of tears is going to bring them back, Zailora."

'Them?'

Then she realized he meant his loss as well as her own. He had released her hands and was standing before her. His gaze fell to the floor, his hands hung limp by his sides. Zailora reached out and touched his face. To her amazement he rubbed against it and pressed his lips against her palm. Then he looked up at her. Those eyes! Those pools of onyx weren't the cold lifeless orbs she was used to..there wasn't just pain reflecting in them there was something else...

Zailora leaned in and lightly touched her lips to those of the Saiyan. Powerful arms wrapped around her crushing her to his armored chest. Her hands slipped around his neck as Turles captured her lips. She felt him undo her braid running his fingers through her hair as the other held her close. The dark green-haired female cautiously reached up and slid her fingers into the Saiyan's hair. How soft it was! Zailora found herself eagerly returning his kisses now. A warm tongue slipped into her mouth causing her to freeze. Daiz had never..nor had anyone else!

Turles chuckled as he realized her plight.

"Like this," he whispered as he explored the contours of her mouth. She tentatively made an effort of her own and was rewarded with a low rumbling purr from the Saiyan.

Kami help her! She felt as if she were melting!

Zailora vaguely felt her feet leave the floor. She didn't even care!

...

Daiz hoped Karzir would not be in any way implicated in his actions. He rather liked the young commander and wished him no misfortune. It was easy enough to sneak away this afternoon under the ruse of going hunting. He needed to explore the area beyond the village to map out his escape or rather their escape. The former prince intended to spirit away the young Dayogien female who had assisted him.

Daiz had been careful to even bring in some game as proof of his 'hunting.' He would steal a mount to quickly and effortlessly carry himself and Markelia away from the village. From there he would be able to fly the short distance to the only outsider's town that the Dayogien were permitted to barter with. He was sure it would be no trouble to carry Markelia for the brief flight. Transport would be easy to procure there to make the journey to Dalicor and once there he would obtain a ship and discover the whereabouts of Turles. Hopefully it would only take a few days to reach the Saiyan's ship.

Daiz nodded in satisfaction, his plan was in place. They would make their escape tomorrow! He could hardly wait to hold his Zailora again...
