"Gohan, I can understand that you're upset but you can't possibly expect me to help Turles after…" Bulma started to protest.
"We don't have time to argue, Bulma! Turles needs help NOW! " Gohan shouted.
"GOHAN! You're being very RUDE to Bulma, you apologize to her THIS INSTANT!" Chi-Chi demanded.
'I really DON'T want to frighten Mom but I HAVE to get Bulma to take me seriously or Turles may die," the worried demi-Saiyan thought.
Gohan stepped over to the window of the now deceased Artruay's office. He spied a building that he had passed earlier, its frightened occupants had fled when Turles and his crew arrived on the planet. At least he hoped it remained empty.
Bulma covered her mouth in utter disbelief as Gohan charged up a blast into his right hand and completely obliterated a small outbuilding in a blinding flash of purple energy not far from where they stood. Chi-Chi gasped and held onto the chair Bulma had vacated she felt faint.
"The next one will contain inhabitants and I will continue to destroy one structure after another until YOU cooperate, Bulma," Gohan growled.
"Are you SURE he isn't the spawn of Turles?" Belas whispered.
"I will NOT tolerate this kind of behavior, Gohan! Now you listen…." an outraged Chi-Chi began.
The Earth-raised Saiyan's response was to merely roll his eyes and charge up another ball of energy into his right hand.
"Enough! OKAY I'LL HELP! JUST STOP PLEASE!" Bulma shouted.
Bulma found herself gritting her teeth as she watched Gohan smugly fold his arms over his chest. The cold obsidian eyes that looked out at her didn't belong to the quiet gentle son of Goku, they resembled those of the soulless Saiyan pirate…..
…
Zailora was fighting a rising sense of panic as she observed rivulets of blood beginning to trickle from the Saiyan's lips.
"He's got internal injuries," Daiz mused.
"Got compny' comin'!" Gartoas barked.
A group of various life-forms was rapidly approaching their location.
Daiz rose quickly expecting an attack, "What the Hell…"
"It's a medical team!" Zailora whooped.
"Whatta ya know, tha runt pulled it off," Gartoas chuckled.
…..
In Otherworld:
"Goku, Gohan just threatened Bulma!" Yamcha protested.
"I hate to agree, Goku but it seems he's even threatening Chi-Chi!" Krillin stammered.
Goku frowned," I'm sure he wouldn't really harm them in any way."
"Don't be so sure, Goku. It seems Gohan has some warped sense of loyalty to that Saiyan monster!" Tien spoke up.
"Don't forget that Goku and Gohan are Saiyans too," Piccolo cut in. "Maybe you should try to reach him, Goku."
On planet Arturay, Gohan felt that little tug in his mind that made him aware of his father attempting to reach him. He stubbornly refused to allow it.
"You wouldn't understand, Dad. You're just going to have to trust me."
A surprised Goku received his son's message but failed to convey his own.
"I…I can't reach him. He's blocking me!"
"That's just great!" Yamcha complained.
"I guess we'll have to trust him to do the right thing," Goku sighed.
"Somehow that doesn't make me feel any better about this!" the scar-faced warrior groaned.
….
"Brat's gittin' ah bit ta big fer is' britches ifn' ya ask me!" Gartoas grumbled as he watched the medical team bustle about in absolute terror of the little half-ling that kept careful watch over every procedure.
Daiz chuckled," No one asked you. Gohan's handling things just fine."
The Kabochan couldn't help but admire the way the Earth-raised youngster had everyone obeying his every order and rushing about tending to the being they vehemently despised.
Bulma resented the fact that she was being forced to assist in caring for the very creature she had vowed to destroy but she couldn't help but be fascinated by the Saiyan's sheer resilience. He was impossibly still alive after suffering injuries that would have ended the lives of most. Obviously her scientific mind was betraying her sense of morals. Turles had richly deserved his fate.
As she entered the room in which the notorious marauder was lying silently on pristine white sheets, the blue-haired young genius was amazed as it seemed the minor injuries were healing right before her eyes. Multiple cuts and bruises were no longer apparent on the surface of the Saiyan's dark hued skin. She observed the head injury to find that scar tissue had already formed on the large gash.
It unnerved the former heiress that the malevolent stare of the female member of Turles's crew watched her every move. Those angry green eyes seemed to bore into her. The woman had been at the Saiyan's side since his arrival to the medical wing. She had been absolutely livid that no 'rejuvenation tank' was available for use whatever that could be. But of course Artruay hadn't bothered with the expense of state of the art medical facilities. He had been more concerned with luxuries. Belas had taken the first transport he could get to depart from the planet. No doubt they'd never see him again.
Monitors beeped and flashed displaying the wounded pirate's vitals. He would be the study subject of her dreams if not for the awful destruction he had caused of her home-world. Bulma couldn't help but be curious about the female's role in all this. She'd noticed the woman wiping at her eyes several times. Who would intentionally mourn for Turles?
…
Chi-Chi decided she had had all she could take. She stomped over to Gohan, placed her hands on her hips and started to lecture him.
"Gohan, you are MY responsibility NOT that horrid Saiyan's. It's high time you stop behaving like a delinquent and…"
"Leave him alone!" Zailora cut in.
The Ox-King's daughter whirled about to face the Kabochan female "I don't need any armor-wearing tramp to tell me how to raise MY son!"
"What did you call me?" the she-pirate snarled.
"I didn't stutter!" Chi-Chi huffed.
Zailora sank into a fighting stance Chi-Chi did likewise.
"Mmmrrr! Cat-fight!" Gartoas chortled.
"I'm on it, Gohan!" Daiz called out.
The dark green-haired pirate soon found that he had his hands full with the two combating females. Who would have thought that the human woman was so strong? Not to mention Zailora had picked up several of the "dirty" tactics Turles was famous for and she was utilizing them vigorously.
What had possessed him to attempt to end the conflict with one good arm? Daiz glared at the bearded pirate who was enjoying the show far too much to bother assisting. He finally managed to separate the pair and he had four claw marks on his left cheek from Zailora's nails and a blackened right eye from Chi-Chi for his trouble.
"Aw, ya spoilt all tha fun!" the Kardanagan whined.
Chi-Chi dusted herself off and stomped out of the room with her nose in the air. Zailora headed back to her post at the Saiyan's bedside.
"Zailora, get some rest. I'll keep an eye out for him. If he wakes I'll come and get you right away," Daiz offered.
"Thanks, Daiz. I am rather tired," the female pirate gave him a warm smile and headed down the hall.
"Yer ah bigger man an' me, Daiz. Ah couldn' sit wi' tha one thet stole muh woman," Gartoas said too quietly for Gohan to hear.
"That 'man' has saved my life more times than I can count. Can't say I didn't want to rip his throat out when I found out about him and Zailora but I just can't let him down either," the former royal sighed.
…..
Gohan stepped into the room where he had followed the sound of his mother weeping and closed the door behind him. She glared at him and snapped her head around refusing to look at him.
"Mom, I know you don't understand but I can't just let Turles die. He means a lot to me and…"
"THAT MONSTER MURDERED YOUR FATHER!" Chi-Chi screeched.
"D-Dad died like a Saiyan…"
"SAIYAN? Your father was nothing like that filthy ape that…"
"ENOUGH!" Gohan barked. "I was hoping to talk to you but obviously you don't care to listen."
The little half-blood turned on his heel and left the room.
…
Bulma walked into the room to check on the 'patient' she utterly detested and was surprised to find the green haired female replaced by her male counterpart at the Saiyan's bedside. Suddenly the pirate commander stirred and opened his eyes.
"Gohan?" he rasped.
"Gohan and Ember are safe, Master Turles. Thanks to you," Daiz spoke up.
The Saiyan gave a long sigh and sniffed the air.
"Commander, Gartoas is here as well."
"I thought I smelled him," Turles replied.
Daiz grinned, Turles still had his sense of humor. That was a good sign.
"I'll get Zailora, I promised to do so if you awoke."
"Don't."
The Kabochan male had an uneasy feeling.
"Master Turles, is something wrong?"
"I can't see."
