A/N: Chapter 103 at last! Due to unplanned eye surgery I had to delay writing for a bit. Add in a computer part failing and no Internet due to crazy weather and further delays occurred. Hopefully I can update more regularly now. Hope you enjoy the chapter!
...
The weary wounded Saiyan could only gape at the sight before him. Tales he'd been told since childhood scarcely prepared the pirate commander to witness his young charge transform into the being of legend.
"Ahhh, realizing your fate is sssealed now are you?" Salzar cackled as he took in the expression on Turles's face.
No the ignorant ape was staring past him. What could possibly divert his attention away from his impending doom? Of course, it had to be the annoying misbegotten half-breed that seemed to be creating quite a commotion. Now that the Sarhassan considered it, he determined that it would be far more enjoyable to destroy the pathetic runt right before the elder Saiyan's eyes.
Yes, the mighty Turles would be brought to heel being forced to watch the agonizing end of the mongrel's existence.
"There'sss been a chhhange of planss," the serpentine creature announced. "THE BRAT DIES FIRST!"
The opioid monstrosity whipped around and drew back in surprise. A golden haired being with eyes of teal stood in the place of the trembling youngster.
"What have you done with the half-breed? Whhhere isss my prey?" Salzar snarled.
An unbelievable power wave sent the viper skidding across the floor. Swift hammer-like blows struck his form again and again…..
…..
Chi-Chi and Bulma shrieked in surprise as Daiz and Gartoas burst into the kitchen, Malako stepped protectively in front of them.
"We have to leave now! All of us!" Daiz shouted.
"I'm NOT going ANYWHERE!" Goku's widow snapped defiantly.
The brunette suddenly crumpled to the floor. Bulma and the Namekian whirled about to find themselves staring into the mocking eyes of a green-haired female.
Taimaz shrugged her shoulders, "She should cooperate about leaving now she's going to be out for a while."
"Think Ahm startin ta like er'," the hefty former bandit snickered.
Daiz grinned and shook his head as Gartoas scooped up Chi-Chi with Malako following warily behind him.
"We have to leave NOW, Miss," the once royal declared to Bulma. Taimaz gave her a meaningful glance causing the young scientist to bite back the angry retort on the tip of her tongue and race after the Kardanagan.
….
Meanwhile across the galaxy…..
"Damn it! How are Frieza's clowns able to keep finding me?" Vegeta cursed.
Escaping the Ice-jin's ship resulted in what seemed to be non-stop pursuit from the PTO leader's forces. He'd barely gotten a moment's rest and he couldn't even remember the last time he'd eaten a full meal.
The Saiyan was unaware that on a faraway ship Appule cackled in malicious amusement as he followed Vegeta's movements on his computer.
"Run all you want, Your Highness. The tracking chip I implanted in your shoulder while you were our guest will let me know right where you are," the blue and yellow spotted medic chortled.
…
Even with his new-found power punches only inflicted minor damage to the armor-like hide of the Sarhassan. Gohan effortlessly avoided the repetitive strikes of the gigantic snake-ling as it tried vainly to inflict a fatal bite. The serpent drew back a moment and seemed to observe the half Saiyan youth before him.
Suddenly Gohan could see the image of Bulma thrashing about in sheer agony, her skin began to blacken and split. Bloody foam seeped from her lips.
Tears suddenly began running down the half-blood's face when he beheld the vision of his screaming mother being devoured alive by the scaled monstrosity.
"GOHAN! Whatever you're seeing it isn't real! Salzar is toying with your thoughts. You must close your mind to him!" Turles commanded.
"Oh my mistake, let's let you see something REAL!" Salzar simpered.
Memories of the destruction of Earth by the Tree of Might began fill his mind. Then it seemed as if flames literally blazed in his skull. The little half-blood shrieked and clawed at his head.
"FIGHT IT GOHAN!" the pirate commander barked.
As Gohan sank to his knees he could hear the chilling laughter of the Sarhassan.
In a futile attempt to protect the Earth-raised child Turles hurled himself into the evil creature that was torturing Gohan.
"YOU DARE?" the hellish reptile rasped.
Massive coils wrapped around the Saiyan and began to slowly crush him. Groans actually escaped the onyx-haired warrior as he struggled to fill his lungs with much needed air. After one particularly violent squeeze Turles went limp. His eyes were closed and blood trailed from his lips.
Daiz watched in horror as he believed he had just witnessed his commander's passing. The Kabochan had returned to see if there was any chance at all for Turles and Gohan before leaving the planet. Everyone else was safely aboard the newly constructed ship.
Chuckling evilly the serpentine nightmare flung Turles away like discarded rubbish.
A roar of absolute rage came from the Saiyan youngster. But what could he do? Nothing seemed to inflict any considerable damage to the Sarhassan.
"Accsssept your fate foolish child. Turles knew I would not resssst until I destroyed the both of you," the adder declared.
As the cavernous maw of the scaled demon began to open wide, Gohan frantically tried to think of a solution to his predicament. Then he gave a cold smile that would have done the Saiyans of old proud. If the cold-blooded beast before him couldn't be injured from the outside….
The son of Goku vaulted into the air and seized the top half of the gigantic snake-being's jaw. Ignoring the foul stench of the snake-ling's breath, Gohan leapt into the dark chasm that was the throat of the unholy viper and disappeared.
"What a fool," Salzar chortled at the suicidal action.
Daiz felt his stomach lurch as he imagined the horrific demise that awaited the half Saiyan youngster as he would be slowly digested by the Sarhassan.
To the utter amazement of Daiz, the serpent's form began to thrash about. Something was moving inside the gargantuan abomination. His eyes widened in shock as he took in the sight of a blood-drenched Gohan suddenly standing right in front of him. A strangled gurgle came from the opioid as he realized that the grisly trophy held in the half-breed's hand was his own heart. Salzar fell lifeless to the floor.
Golden locks turned to ebony once more as the exhausted half-ling collapsed.
"Gartoas, get your worthless carcass over to the med building now!" Daiz barked into his scouter…..
….
Gartoas groaned as he took in the unlikely group that was gathered in the bridge area of Turles's ship. Enduring the presence of one female onboard had been taxing enough. Now he'd be putting up with three! Gohan thanked Bulma for the healing salve she'd created to heal the damage to his skin from the caustic fluids contained in the interior of the slain Sarhassan. The healing tank she had constructed would have allowed him to recover from his blistered skin far more quickly but it contained the unconscious Turles.
Chi-Chi had surprised everyone by taking on the care of the severely injured pirate. With Bulma's instruction, she had learned to operate the rejuvenation tank. The brunette kept a watchful eye on the Saiyan's healing progress.
"Tha Earth wench take leave o' er' senses?" Gartoas asked.
"She believes Turles is responsible for preserving the life of her son…..," Malako began.
"That explains why she's been determined to be the one to treat Turles," Bulma cut in.
"Makes sense but she might want to be relieved of that task when he comes to," Daiz chuckled.
Taimaz rolled her eyes but made no comment. The former prince didn't miss the malevolent expression that briefly crossed her face.
'I wonder what that was about?' the dark-green haired pirate mused.
"Speaka o' tha devil an' e appears," Gartoas huffed.
"Flattering as always I see, Gartoas," Turles quipped.
The fully recovered Saiyan strode into the room. His armor was still damaged from battling Salzar.
"Commander Turles, what are your orders?" Daiz spoke up quickly.
"Set your course for Klerios, we'll pick up needed supplies there and I'll see about replacing my armor and Gohan's as well," Turles declared.
Gohan gave an apologetic glance to Bulma and then he raced to the pilot's seat and brought the ship's engines to life.
A frown graced Turles's countenance as he observed the half-blood. He was proud of Gohan's accomplishment. Yet it didn't sit entirely well with him that the child had surpassed him. However it seemed that the legendary transformation was only temporary or that the level of power was beyond what Gohan could fully control. If that were the case then he could use the half-ling's ability or lack of to his advantage. While he had grown quite fond of the boy he was still intent on fulfilling his own agenda. Using those around him as living pawns was a skill he'd mastered well.
The once darling of Capsule Corps chewed her lip nervously. Surely Gohan would see to it that she and Chi-Chi would come to no harm from Turles and his crew. Wouldn't he? Poor Malako had done nothing to deserve any kind of mistreatment.
Escape was tempting if they set foot on another planet. But Chi-Chi would never leave her son. And there was also….
Bulma gasped as Turles suddenly loomed before her. A cruel sardonic grin lit the Saiyan's handsome face.
"Well, Bulma dear. It seems I'll be able to enjoy the pleasure of your company for some time. You may as well take a seat we have a great deal to discuss."
"I don't have a clue of what you're going on about," the aquamarine-haired beauty huffed.
A dark chuckle resounded from the nefarious pirate. He leaned in close.
"I KNOW about the Dragon Balls," he whispered.
The young genius gasped and turned pale.
Taimaz glanced coldly in the Saiyan's direction. She couldn't care less as to the fate of Turles's unwilling passengers. Self-righteous anger infused her entire being.
'You're going to pay dearly for destroying my planet, you disgusting ape! And the traitorous prince will receive his just reward as well…."
….
Until the next chapter!
